"Yes, I was down 17 pounds, bald, vomiting relentlessly, but I was still living alone. There were two other cancer survivors in the "Grey's Anatomy" writers' room, but an unnamed writer told Vanity Fair that those people stopped feeling comfortable talking about their cancer experiences because Finch would always become emotional during those conversations if anyone questioned or contradicted her. Vanity Fair reported that when confronted by a suspicious Beyer toward the end of their relationship, "Finch 'admitted' that she had at one time had cancer, but that she got chemo, and recovered."<h2>Finch's story of abuse mirrors her estranged wife's </h2><div type="image" title="Elisabeth Finch." height="2411" width="3214" msid="91495263" hostid="261"></div>Beyer and Finch met at a treatment facility in Topeka, Kansas, in 2019, Vanity Fair reported. Beyer told writer Evgenia Peretz she was there to treat the psychological symptoms of an abusive marriage.Finch entered the center about six months into Beyer's stay under the pseudonym "Jo," the same name of the "Grey's Anatomy" character she was researching for a storyline. She told residents she was also <a href="https://www.insider.com/do-i-have-ptsd">there to treat PTSD,</a> according to the magazine. The women became close and therapists allowed them to room together even though they were in the same process group, according to Beyer. Soon, Finch's abuse story began to mirror Beyer's. When Beyer's husband threatened to come and find her, with the facility increasing security as a result, suddenly Finch said her brother Eric (whom she said abused her as a child) was threatening to find her, too. Beyer said she saw a letter Finch said Eric wrote but didn't read it herself. After treatment, Finch and Beyer's relationship deepened thanks to visits with each other. On one of Beyer's trips to Los Angeles, she got a call from the Kansas Department of Children and Families informing her that her husband had committed suicide, Beyer told Vanity Fair. According to Vanity Fair, two weeks later, without Beyer's knowledge, Finch sent an email to her "<a href="https://www.insider.com/ellen-pompeo-greys-anatomy-watched-a-handful-of-episodes-2022-2">Grey's Anatomy" coworkers</a>. "I've gone bc my brother <a href="https://www.insider.com/my-little-sister-died-by-suicide-im-talking-about-it-2022-5">died by suicide</a>. He was on life support for a short while but ultimately did not survive," it read, according to the publication. "I say this not bc I need or want anything from anyone, I'm not a delicate flower or whatever, I just want people to know I'm still here, still part of the team."However, Finch's brother is still alive and currently works as a doctor, per Vanity Fair. He declined to comment when reached by Vanity Fair regarding their report on Finch. The film has everyone from Hugh Jackman and Ian McKellen to Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy. Even Halle Berry reprises her role as Storm in the sequel. 
However, you may have noticed one major character from the original series missing from most of the action.
Except for a minor cameo near the film's end, Anna Paquin's Rogue, who was a focus of the original "<a href="http://www.amazon.com/X-Men-Widescreen-Edition-Patrick-Stewart/dp/B00003CX8J" target="_blank">X-Men</a>" in 2000, was removed in the film's editing process.
Director Bryan Singer previously <a href="http://insidemovies.ew.com/2013/12/20/x-men-days-future-past-rogue-anna-paquin/" target="_blank">explained to Entertainment Weekly</a> how Paquin's appearance would have involved a big rescue sequence involving Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), and Iceman (Shawn Ashmore).
Unfortunately, Singer said it ended up being "<a href="http://insidemovies.ew.com/2013/12/20/x-men-days-future-past-rogue-anna-paquin/" target="_blank">extraneous</a>" to the overall film.
There's been a lot of speculation on what exactly Rogue's cut scene was and how it fit into the overall arc of 'Days of Future Past."
Screenwriter Simon Kinberg recently expanded on Rogue's cut sequence in an <a href="http://www.empireonline.com/features/days-of-future-past-secrets-explained/p14" target="_blank">interview with Empire magazine</a>, detailing what went on in an elaborate 10-minute scene that would have pushed the film closer to a two-and-a-half hour movie.

For those who haven't seen the film there are some spoilers ahead.
In the film, Kitty Pride (Ellen Page) sends Wolverine (Jackman) back to the past to save the X-Men and all of mankind from giant mutant-hunting robots (just go with it).
During one part late in the film, Pride accidentally gets stabbed by Wolverine while he's being sent back in time leaving her wounded badly. While Wolverine has the power to self heal, there's one X-Men who has the ability to borrow other mutants' powers for a while.
Enter Rogue.
Iceman, Magneto, and Xavier would have went to save the mutant from some "<a href="http://www.empireonline.com/features/days-of-future-past-secrets-explained/p14" target="_blank">dark, scary place</a>" and bring her to where the X-Men were hiding out to save Kitty.
If you go back and watch the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/x-men-days-of-future-past-first-trailer-2013-10" target="_blank">first official trailer for the movie</a>, you can actually catch glimpses of the cut scenes with Paquin.
Here's Paquin being saved from that dark place by Iceman and Magneto (no Xavier in sight).

For fans watching the movie knowing Rogue was cut, it's pretty evident this is where she most likely would have made her entrance. In this case, it would have made perfect sense for her character to borrow Wolverine's healing power to aid Pride.
<h3>Why It Was Cut</h3>
Kinberg went into depth with Empire magazine on why the scene didn't make it into the film.
<a href="http://www.empireonline.com/features/days-of-future-past-secrets-explained/p14" target="_blank">Via Empire</a>: 
"The Rogue subplot was originally there because I wanted a mission for the older Charles and Eric to do, something like Unforgiven - two last gunslingers, Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman - that kind of a mission for them. I just loved the idea of that. Nothing in the story necessitated that, but just for a lark, I thought it would be a cool thing to see, because we may never see it again.
"But it does not service the main story. I thought it would increase the urgency and the stakes of the plot in the future, but it actually does the opposite, because it makes you feel like there is an answer out there. You think once Rogue gets here, we'll have an unlimited amount of time. The ticking clock that we'd established with Kitty getting wounded and losing her powers… well, Rogue would show up and press stop on the clock. So for all of those narrative reasons, there was this ten-minute subplot that had to go."
As Kinberg and Singer have said, the big rescue scene doesn't sound necessary (though cool nonetheless). 
However, if they really wanted to keep Paquin in the film, it would have made sense if Rogue was just with the group of X-Men from the movie's start so she could have helped revive her fellow X-Man later on. No need for the huge rescue scene.
If you're bummed about the scene being cut, both Singer and Kinberg have said it will most likely appear as an extra once the film's released.

A 'True Blood' musical is getting closer to becoming a reality

The first trailer for "<keyword id="1758599" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="X-Men-Days-Of-Future-Past">X-Men: Days of Future Past</keyword>" is finally here, and it is fantastic.
Filled with a monster cast of actors, director Bryan Singer teams up the legion of actors from the first set of "<keyword id="112243" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="X-Men">X-Men</keyword>" films with the prequels. 
Yes, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Sir Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, and Anna Paquin are among the original cast that join forces with the newer, younger team of X-Men comprised of Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, and Jame McAvoy. 
Peter Dinklage joins as the villainous Bolivar Trask.

Sookie Is At The Wrong End Of A Gun In New 'True Blood' Promos

We're finally getting a better look at season 6 of "<keyword id="470166" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="True-Blood">True Blood</keyword>."
<keyword id="71946" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="HBO">HBO</keyword> has released a 1:31 trailer giving a look at what to expect when the vampire series returns June 16. 
We've seen a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/new-true-blood-promos-2013-4" target="_blank">few</a> <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/true-blood-teaser-trailer-season-6-2013-4" target="_blank">teasers</a>, but we're still not too sure what will occur in Bon Temps between Sookie (Anna Paquin), Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), and Bill (Stephen Moyer) since the latter's transformation into a demonic super vampire.
There's a lot to take in between vampires, werewolves, and cops hunting down the both that you'll probably have to give it a second watch.

The First Full Trailer For 'True Blood' Season 6 Is Here

Google released its annual list of <a href="http://www.google.com/trends/topcharts?vm=trendingchart&amp;cid=zg2614&amp;date=2013&amp;geo=US&amp;cat#vm=cat&amp;cid=entertainment&amp;geo=US&amp;date=2013&amp;cat=entertainment&amp;r=r" target="_blank">most searched-for items on the web</a> this year. 
We've already shown you the<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/most-searched-movies-2013-2013-12" target="_blank"> popular movie searches</a>. 
Here are the TV shows people wanted to know about. We're not shocked by number one. We are surprised, however, that ABC makes the list a bit while "The Walking Dead" is nowhere to be found.

Chelsea Handler's comedy special "Uganda Be Kidding Me" will premiere halfway through the month. The special is part of a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/chelsea-handler-netflix-10-million-2014-8">reported $10 million</a> contract the comedienne signed with the streaming service earlier this year.

"Shivers" (available 10/1) If you're looking for a scare, it's the first film from horror master David Cronenberg ("The Fly") described as about "bloodthirsty, wormlike parasites" -- in one gruesome and memorable sequence, they attack a woman in a bathtub 
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" (available 10/21) This is a must watch if you need a refresher before the sequel, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I," comes out in November. It's the movie everyone will be talking about this fall.
"Django Unchained" (available 10/25) - If you haven't seen Quentin Tarantino's latest Oscar winner, watch this one for the onscreen tension between Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz. "Rain Man" (available 10/31) Don't get too excited for Dustin Hoffman's Oscar-winning performances yet. You'll have to wait until Halloween for this one. We're sad, too.

Here's What's New On Netflix In October

More than 30 new shows premiered this fall and while some took off - "The Blacklist," "Masters of Sex," and "Sleepy Hollow" - many of them fell flat.
After seeing similar lists of terrible shows this season, we had to weigh in after seeing <keyword id="5601" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="NBC">NBC</keyword>'s "Community" <a href="http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/lists/5-worst-tv-shows-of-2013-20131205/community-nbc-19691231" target="_blank">on one list</a> - a gem that is far under appreciated. (Sure, season 4 wasn't perfect with Dan Harmon gone, but it was better than a lot of the <a href="http://images.tvrage.com/shows/31/30773.jpg">other</a> <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/fcc-complaints-about-miley-cyrus-vma-performance-2013-9">stuff</a> on <keyword id="6355065" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="tv">TV</keyword>.) 
So which ones were the worst of the worst? Look no further than the shows that were among the first to be pulled from networks as the fall season began. 
With so many shows premiering at the same time, we bet some weren't even around long enough for you to know they existed.
5. "<a href="http://www.nbc.com/welcome-to-the-family/" target="_blank">Welcome to the Family</a>" (NBC)

One of the <a href="http://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/welcome-to-the-family/">worst-reviewed shows</a> of the fall season, the problem here wasn't so much the stars as it was the show that failed to give viewers a reason to tune in. 
This felt like NBC's latest attempt to recreate the success of <keyword id="6369596" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="abc">ABC</keyword>'s "Modern Family" (remember last year's "<a href="http://www.nbc.com/the-new-normal/" target="_blank">The New Normal</a>,") but instead came across as an "<a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/music/welcome-to-the-family-on-nbc/2013/09/13/62fbad6c-1c9f-11e3-8685-5021e0c41964_story.html">unfunny</a>" show with "<a href="http://variety.com/2013/tv/reviews/tv-review-welcome-to-the-family-1200667983/" target="_blank">all the depth of a knock-knock joke</a>." 
Despite getting cancelled, the show is still airing on STAR World India and Hulu.
4. "<a href="http://www.amctv.com/shows/low-winter-sun" target="_blank">Low Winter Sun</a>" (<keyword id="6358378" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="AMC">AMC</keyword>) <div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="http://static3.businessinsider.com/image/52a8df2669bedd6634ce671a-1200-600/low-winter-sun-3.jpg" border="0" alt="low winter sun" />Frank Ockenfels 3 / AMC</div></div></div>Cancelled after 10 episodes
This was the show AMC tried to force feed to "Breaking Bad" viewers to watch after the Vince Gilligan series came to an end and fans weren't having it. 
Constant reminders during "Breaking Bad" would tell you to stay tuned for the show that aired afterward. After all, it was supposed to sound like the Walter White series about a good family man who "broke bad." Its tagline? "Good man. Cop. Killer." 
It didn't help that for the first few final episodes of "Breaking Bad," AMC <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/breaking-bad-season-5-episode-11-promo-2013-8">was forcing viewers to watch "Low Winter Sun" in order to see next week's preview</a> of White's future escapades. That alone probably turned off a lot of potential viewers. 
The show even used actors from two of the network's top shows - Gale from "Breaking Bad" and short-lived Morgan from "The Walking Dead" - to try and appeal to viewers. 
Though LWS had decent performances, it seemed like it was trying to hard to live up to the greatness of the show that aired before it and other cop shows that preceded it ("The Shield"). 
Ratings dipped from 2.5 million viewers to 600,000 by episode 10. 
After one season will faltering ratings after "Breaking Bad" bid adieu, AMC - and many relieved viewers - <a href="http://www.thewrap.com/amc-cancels-low-winter-sun/">said goodbye to LWS</a>.
3. "<a href="http://www.nbc.com/ironside/">Ironside</a>" (NBC) <div class="KonaFilter image-container"><div class="image on-image"><img src="http://static4.businessinsider.com/image/52a8dda3ecad04ae63ce671a-722-356/ironside-2.png" border="0" alt="ironside" width="800" />NBC</div></div>Cancelled after three episodes 
Critics tore apart the remake of the NBC series from the late '60s about a detective in a wheelchair calling it everything from <a href="http://www.hollywoodchicago.com/news/22592/tv-review-nbcs-ironside-is-worst-new-drama-of-2013">cliched</a> to <a href="http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/ae/tv-radio/tuned-in-3-shows-3-weak-debuts-705717/">so bad it was nearly funny</a>. 
The NYT said a main problem was <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/02/arts/television/ironside-the-series-remake-has-its-debut-on-nbc.html?ref=television&amp;_r=0">defining the title character by his disability</a> instead of making him more than that. 
<a href="http://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/ironside/">Rotten Tomatoes</a> summed it up as an "unnecessary, lackluster remake that could be a decent police procedural if it wasn't so mundane and monotonous." 
The show also came under scrutiny by many because the <a href="http://blogs.indiewire.com/shadowandact/not-everyone-is-happy-with-the-guy-in-nbcs-ironside-reboot">show didn't hire a disabled actor to play the titular role</a>.
2. "<a href="http://www.cbs.com/shows/we-are-men/" target="_blank">We Are Men</a>" (<keyword id="6360415" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="CBS">CBS</keyword>) <div class="KonaFilter image-container"><div class="image on-image"><img src="http://static3.businessinsider.com/image/52a8dbb0ecad04ab63ce6714-596-298/we-are-men.jpg" border="0" alt="we are men" width="800" />Sonja Flemming/CBS</div></div>Cancelled after two episodes 
Everyone pretty much agreed that funny men Tony Shalhoub and Kal Penn's talents were put to waste in this comedy featuring three divorced guys and another (Chris Smith) left at the altar. 
<a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/review/tv-reviews-we-are-men-634824">The Hollywood Reporter</a> summed it up pretty well: "We Are Men is about four single guys you wouldn't ever want to be around or be related to in any way … [it] made me feel stupid almost immediately and then bitter that I'd wasted the time." 
"We are Men" was the <a href="http://www.deadline.com/2013/10/we-are-men-cancelled-cbs-schedule/">second cancellation of the 2013 fall season</a> and had a <a href="http://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/we-are-men/">collective 4% rating</a> on Rotten Tomatoes.
1. "<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2712966/?ref_=ttfc_fc_tt">Lucky 7</a>" (ABC)

"Lucky 7" won the award for being <a href="http://www.deadline.com/2013/10/abcs-lucky-7-cancelled-after-2-episodes/" target="_blank">the first fall show to receive the axe</a>. The premise followed seven gas station employees from Queens who won the lottery. Their winnings were supposed to dramatically change their lives forever. 
Bottom line: everyone wants to win the lottery, but no one wants to hear about the troubles people winning millions of dollars face. 
What you didn't know: Interestingly enough, the series was executive-produced in part by Steven Spielberg and was based on a British show "<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2299141/">The Syndicate</a>" currently going into its third season.
<h3 class="p1">Bonus: "True Blood" </h3>

This was quite possibly one of the worst seasons of a show I have ever watched (and I've been watching "Grey's Anatomy" since it <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/see-how-greys-anatomy-was-exactly-like-lost-2012-5#">pulled that weird "Lost" stunt</a> more than a year ago.) 
Bill (Stephen Moyer) continued his reign as a supreme vampire lord while a religious cult threatened to exterminate all vamps. Meanwhile, a dark faerie was after Sookie (Anna Paquin) - who's always in some sort of danger. There were a number of other story lines. Thankfully, the series tied up a lot of plots that weren't going anywhere (Terry's <a href="http://www.wetpaint.com/true-blood/articles/true-bloods-smoke-monster-love-it-or-leave-it" target="_blank">smoke monster bit</a> was becoming a bit much), but it landed back at square one when it introduced what looked like vampire zombies during the season finale. 
HBO really had something here in the beginning. The first season and perhaps second were solid - true to the <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/17061.Charlaine_Harris">Charlaine Harris novels</a>. It's when the show started to take its own creative freedom in storytelling - adding witches, and getting focused too heavily on religious anti-vampire groups and faeries - that the show lost its way.
