Sajjan Jindal-owned <keyword id="146214" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="jsw-infrastructure" source="Orion">JSW Infrastructure</keyword> has filed preliminary papers with capital markets regulator Sebi to raise up to Rs 2,800 crore through an initial public offering (<keyword id="6354763" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="ipo" source="Orion">IPO</keyword>) to retire debt and support its expansion plans. JSW Infrastructure will be the third company of the <keyword id="144036" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="jsw-group" source="Orion">JSW Group</keyword> to be listed on the bourses after JSW Energy and JSW Steel. The ports business of the JSW Group filed the DRHP on May 9. Going by the draft papers, the IPO is purely a fresh issue of equity shares with no offer-for-sale (OFS) component, and the promoters will not be diluting their current stake through the issue. The company will use the proceeds to retire its debt as well as to fund its capacity expansion projects, as per the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP). JSW Infrastructure has an installed cargo handling capacity of 153.43 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) for multi-commodity cargo including dry bulk, break bulk, liquid bulk, gases and containers. As of December 31, 2022, JSW Infrastructure had a net debt of Rs 2,875 crore. The company had a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 447.2 crore in October-December 2022-23 and Earnings Before Interest, <keyword id="6368033" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="taxes" source="Orion">Taxes</keyword>, Depreciation, and <keyword id="990685" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="amortisation" source="Orion">Amortisation</keyword> (EBITDA) of Rs 1,268.6 crore. JM Financial Limited, Axis Capital Limited, Credit Suisse Securities (India) Private Limited, DAM Capital Advisors Limited, HSBC Securities and Capital Markets (India) Private Limited, ICICI Securities Limited, Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Limited, and SBI Capital Markets Limited are the book running lead managers. JSW Infrastructure files draft papers; eyes ₹2,800 cr via IPO

Homegrown electric two-wheeler manufacturer <keyword id="4393078" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ola-electric" source="Orion">Ola Electric</keyword> aims to raise nearly Rs 5,800 crore through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and is set to file its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) by December 20, media reports said on Monday. According to the reports, the company is looking to list at a valuation of more than $7 billion by early 2024. Through the IPO, Ola Electric plans to expand its EV business and establish a lithium-ion cell manufacturing facility, the reports said. The company started sales in December 2021 and has sold over 353,000 units to date. Meanwhile, Bhavish Aggarwal-driven Ola Electric's net loss nearly doubled to Rs 1,472 crore in FY23, from Rs 784.1 crore in the previous fiscal year, as expenses surged significantly. The electric vehicle company reported an EBITDA loss of Rs 1,318 crore as its total expenses jumped to Rs 3,383 crore, in comparison to Rs 1,240 crore in FY22. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) is a measure of core corporate profitability. The company is now targeting an EBITDA profitability of Rs 803 crore in FY25. The company saw its losses growing nearly 293 per cent to Rs 784 crore in FY22.

Ola Electric aims to raise nearly Rs 5,800 cr via IPO, to file DRHP

Kolkata, Battery and flashlight major <keyword id="166960" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Eveready-industries" source="Orion">Eveready Industries</keyword> India Ltd (EIIL) on Tuesday reported a 73.5 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 25.44 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal on easing input cost. The city-based company had posted a net profit of Rs 14.73 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal, the company said in a regulatory filing. Revenue from operation during the July-September quarter was lower by three per cent to Rs 364.9 crore as compared to Rs 375.7 crore in the year-ago period. Operating EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) margin improved to 12.7 per cent from 11.4 per cent in the second quarter of the 2022-23 fiscal. Eveready Industries said the revenue performance was nearly flat owing to the distribution revamp, which is expected to normalise in the coming quarters. Battery-operated flashlights continued to degrow despite healthy growth in rechargeable category, it said. "Favourable trends in key raw materials and stability in exchange rate created suitable conditions for margin expansion," the company said in a statement. "Our emphasis to grow within our existing business mix saw us successfully execute a very complex route to market in our distribution structure," Eveready Industries Managing Director Suvamoy Saha said. The initial moderation in uptake in batteries is expected to resolve in the coming quarters as stocks get replenished via more efficient pathways, he said. In its revamp journey with the new management under the Dabur family, Eveready has also unveiled a new logo and a tagline, aiming at wooing the new generation of consumers.

Eveready Q2 FY'24 net profit jumps 73% on easing input cost

Commercial vehicle maker <keyword id="6357085" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="ashok-leyland" source="Orion">Ashok Leyland</keyword> on Thursday said its profit after tax nearly tripled to Rs 561 crore in September quarter 2023-24. In the year-ago period, the PAT was Rs 199.31 crore. Revenues during the quarter under review rose to Rs 9,638 crore from Rs 8,266 crore in the second quarter of FY23, the company said in a statement. It said EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation) for the quarter was Rs 1,080 crore as against Rs 537 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY23. Net debt stood at Rs 1,139 crore at the end of the second quarter, it said. The domestic medium and heavy commercial vehicles (MHCV) sales stood at 29,947 units, up 18% from the second quarter of the previous fiscal, which is in line with industry growth. Light commercial vehicle (LCV) volume was at 16,998 units compared to 17,040 LCVs sold in the same period last year, Ashok Leyland said. Export volumes for the quarter (MHCV &amp; LCV) were 4% higher at 2,901 units from the year-ago period despite multiple socio-political challenges across the globe. The company said while its overall MHCV MS is moving in the right direction, it significantly increased its bus market share, making it the top bus manufacturer in the country. "We have grown and grown profitability. The second half of the year appears to have the twin tailwinds of demand growth and softer commodity prices which should improve the profitability of the industry," Shenu Agarwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ashok Leyland, said. This is the third consecutive quarter of double-digit EBITDA, he said, adding that there is tremendous focus on margin enhancement, network expansion, operational efficiency, cost optimisation and deployment of digital as an enabler for growth and productivity. There is an enhanced thrust to grow all non-MHCV businesses as well and "we expect to see the benefits of all of this in the coming quarters," he added. Further, the company said that its all other businesses posted good growth in the current quarter and added that it expanded its MHCV range by launching new products in tipper, tractor and MAV categories. The focus on expansion of the distribution network continued with further addition of 47 touch points in the quarter, especially in the northern and eastern parts of the country, it said. "We continue to see strong demand in all segments of trucks and passenger vehicles. The industry continues to post strong growth, on the back of strong macroeconomic factors and we are confident that FY24 will see further growth in the second half as well," <keyword id="454707" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="dheeraj-hinduja" source="Orion">Dheeraj Hinduja</keyword>, Executive Chairman of Ashok Leyland, said. While International business globally is challenged owing to the conflicts across the globe, "we are intensifying our expansion strategy in our focus markets of the Middle East, Africa and Asia," he said. The company continues to build its capabilities in alternative energy and shall be soon coming up with some exciting products and solutions, Hinduja added.

Ashok Leyland PAT nearly triples to Rs 561 cr in September quarter

It had clocked Rs 347.02 crore net profit in the year-ago period, JSL said in a regulatory filing on Thursday. The company's total income increased to Rs 9,828.97 crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal as against Rs 8,776.61 crore a year ago. JSL's expenses were at Rs 8,944.04 crore, higher than the Rs 8,335.52 crore it reported a year ago. In a separate statement, JSL Managing Director Abhy per cuday Jindal, said, "Our domestic sales increased year-on-year (y-o-y), buoyed by the government's push for stainless steel in strategic sectors." "As we wait for the <keyword id="19198542" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="national-stainless-steel-policy" source="Orion">National Stainless Steel Policy</keyword>, we are confident that the per capita consumption of stainless steel in India will increase from the current 2.8 kg in the coming years," he said. Chinese imports have increased by nearly 55% year-on-year, which highlights the unchecked dumping of subsidised and substandard Chinese products in the Indian market, the MD said. The industry expects the government to take notice of the continuously increasing imports from China, which is hurting the sector, especially the MSMEs and as well the government's vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat, he added. During the September quarter, the company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation was at Rs 1,231 crore, up by 80% y-o-y. "The board also approved the proposal to explore the option for selling/liquidating/divesting equity stake in its subsidiary, PT Jindal Stainless, Indonesia (PTJSI), at Gresik, Indonesia," the statement said. "The decision was taken in the wake of unfavourable market conditions in Indonesia due to the lack of a level-playing field and competition with Chinese products," it said. Most of the Indonesian market is dominated by Chinese players, and therefore, major markets such as the US and the EU have levied severe trade protection measures on exports of stainless steel products from Indonesia. The Board of Directors also approved an interim dividend Re 1 per equity share (face value of Rs 2 each) for FY24. The record date for determining the entitlement of shareholders has been set as October 28. The dividend shall be paid on or before November 17, the company said, adding that the aggregate payout will be nearly Rs 82.34 crore. The sales volume for the second quarter stood at 543,619 metric tonnes, up by nearly 26% y-o-y, owing to robust domestic demand. Ahead of the upcoming festive season, the company's sales in the auto segment -- besides other consumer-facing segments -- witnessed an uptick, the statement said.

S&amp;P Global Ratings and Fitch Ratings in separate notes spoke of its <keyword id="19957744" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="EBITDA" source="keywords">EBITDA</keyword> (loosely known as pre-tax profit) rising in the current fiscal year and next on rising revenue and past investments. "<keyword id="19896380" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Industries" source="keywords">Reliance Industries</keyword> Ltd's (<keyword id="20002939" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ril" source="keywords">RIL</keyword>) strong earnings will keep leverage in check as the company continues to pursue growth ambitions. We expect the company's debt-to-EBITDA ratio to remain commensurate with the rating (BBB+/Stable/--)," S&amp;P said in a note. The oil-to-telecom-and-retail conglomerate's growth aspirations remain intact, it said, adding the company has ramped up investments in the media business in recent months. In 2024, it entered into binding definitive agreements with The Walt Disney Co for a media joint venture in which RIL will invest Rs 11,500 crore. The company subsequently agreed to buy Paramount Global's 13.01 per cent stake in local entertainment network Viacom18 Media Pte Ltd for about Rs 4,300 crore. "These investments are in line with RIL's strategy to diversify and have a strong presence in a few key industries," the rating agency said. Also, the company received government approval in 2024 to develop gas reserves in the KG-D6 block in the Bay Of Bengal. This could increase the company's gas production capacity by 13-17 per cent. RIL's earlier announced investments include a Rs 75,000 crore expansion plan over five years (starting 2022) for the oil-to-chemicals business. "RIL's earnings will benefit from past investments," S&amp;P said. "We project the company's adjusted EBITDA will rise 2-4 per cent in fiscal 2025 (year ending March 31, 2025)," it added. Just as in the past two years, the digital services segment (Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd) will be the key growth driver, with segment's EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation) increasing 10-12 per cent in fiscal 2025. Reliance Jio's wireless subscriber base and average revenue per user will gain from the company's investments in its 5G network since late 2022. Meanwhile, earnings in the oil and gas as well as retail segments will reap the rewards of increased production volume and a wider retail store network. "The EBITDA improvement that we expect in fiscal 2025 comes after a 14 per cent increase to Rs 1.6 lakh crore in fiscal 2024," it said. S&amp;P saw RIL's rising earnings providing it greater balance-sheet flexibility for growth. "We expect the combination of robust operating performances and continued spending to keep the company's debt-to-EBITDA ratio at 1.8x-2.0x over the next two years. This compares with our estimate of 1.7x for fiscal 2024 and our downgrade trigger of 2.5x," S&amp;P said. RIL's leverage has some distance from the upper end of the company's internal leverage target. RIL has reiterated its intention to keep its net debt-to-EBITDA ratio (by its own calculations) below 1x. The ratio was 0.65x as of March 31, 2024. Separately, Fitch Ratings said RIL's EBITDA net leverage is likely to remain below 1x in the medium term, supported by increasing cash flows and lower capex intensity, even as the conglomerate's absolute capex and investments remain high in the near term. "We expect RIL's EBITDA to increase by 8 per cent year-on-year in the financial year ending March 2025 (FY25) and 14 per cent in FY26, while capex intensity (capex/revenue) is likely to reduce below 13 per cent by FY26 (FY24: 15.3 per cent). Lower capex intensity would be driven by growing revenue and reduction in capex after FY25," it said. Fitch expected the conglomerate's Cash Flow from Operations (CFO) to be sufficient to fund its capex from FY26, which will limit additional debt funding and keep its EBITDA net leverage below 1.0x in the medium term (FY24: 0.9x, FY23: 1.1x). "Fitch estimates RIL's FY24 EBITDA net leverage at 0.9x, better than our expectation of 1.1x, driven by marginally higher EBITDA and Rs 20,900 crore of equity raised mainly from the sale of a stake in a subsidiary, even as its capex remained high at Rs 1.5 lakh crore (FY23: Rs 1.4 lakh crore)," the rating agency said in a statement. It rates RIL at 'BBB'/Stable, one notch above India's rating (BBB-/Stable). "We expect the EBITDA increase in the near to medium term to be driven by the telecom and retail businesses, supported by contribution from the upstream oil and gas segment and marginal recovery in petrochemical spreads in the oil to chemical (O2C) segment," Fitch said, adding EBITDA from digital services, largely telecom, is likely to benefit from a 10-15 per cent tariff hike and 15-20 million of additional subscribers in FY25 (FY24: 482 million subscribers). Digital services EBITDA rose by 13 per cent in FY24, as Reliance added 42 million subscribers and monthly average revenue per user increased to Rs 182. Monthly user data consumption increased by 24 per cent to 28.7 GB, one of the highest globally. Fitch expected retail EBITDA to increase by 20-25 per cent in FY25 (FY24: 28%) as Reliance continues to expand its physical stores and digital channels. EBITDA would be supported by a 22.2 per cent increase in its registered customer base to 304 million in FY24. Also, O2C segment EBITDA is expected to remain above Rs 60,000 crore in FY25 (FY24: Rs 62,400 crore), as a gradual improvement in petrochemical spreads from FY24 lows is expected as a supply overhang recedes. Upstream oil and gas EBITDA should stay at around Rs 20,000 crore in FY25 (FY24: Rs 20,200 crore), assisted by the expectation of a 10 per cent increase in gas production in the first full year of operation of three gas fields in the KG-D6 block, which should offset the potential reduction in price realisation with lower gas prices in international benchmarks. Reliance gets thumbs-up from S&P, Fitch as strong earnings keep leverage in check

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 18 (ANI): <keyword id="6354335" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="reserve-bank-of-india" source="Orion">Reserve Bank of India</keyword> on Friday said regulated entities (REs) have the freedom and they must offer all categories of retail loans either on a fixed or <keyword id="1104583" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="floating-interest-rates" source="Orion">floating interest rates</keyword> basis. At the time of sanction of EMI-based floating rate personal loans, RBI said regulated entities are required to take into account the repayment capacity of borrowers to ensure that adequate headroom or margin is available for elongation of tenor and or increase in EMI, in the scenario of a possible increase in the external benchmark rate during the tenor of the loan. In the wake of rising <keyword id="6371181" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="interest-rates" source="Orion">interest rates</keyword>, RBI said it had received several grievances from consumers related to the elongation of loan tenor and or increase in EMI amount, without proper communication with and or consent of the borrowers. "In order to address these concerns, the REs are advised to put in place an appropriate policy framework meeting the following requirements for implementation and compliance," RBI said. As a part of the new rules, the central bank said: At the time of sanction, regulated entities shall clearly communicate to the borrowers about the possible impact of change in benchmark interest rate on the loan leading to changes in EMI and/or tenor or both. Subsequently, any increase in the EMI or tenor or both on account of the above shall be communicated to the borrower immediately through appropriate channels.At the time of reset of interest rates, regulated entities shall provide the option to the borrowers to switch over to a fixed rate as per their Board approved policy. The policy, inter alia, may also specify the number of times a borrower will be allowed to switch during the tenor of the loan. The borrowers shall also be given the choice to opt for enhancement in EMI or elongation of tenor or for a combination of both options; and, to prepay, either in part or in full, at any point during the tenor of the loan. All applicable charges for switching of loans from floating to fixed rate and any other service charges/ administrative costs incidental to the exercise of the above options shall be transparently disclosed in the sanction letter and also at the time of revision of such charges/ costs by the regulated entities from time to time. REs shall ensure that the elongation of tenor in case of floating rate loan does not result in negative amortisation. RBI said regulated entities shall ensure that these instructions are extended to the existing as well as new loans suitably by December 31, 2023. All existing borrowers shall be sent a communication, through appropriate channels, intimating the options available to them, RBI said. (ANI)

Banks must allow retail borrowers to switch between fixed and floating rates: RBI

<ul><li>Borrowers have not had to pay bigger EMIs thanks to extended <keyword id="6360217" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="loan" source="Orion">loan</keyword> tenor until now, but that may change. </li><li>If borrowers push for longer tenors even after the extensions taken due to the last four rate hikes, it will result in the loan becoming negatively amortised. </li><li>Negative amortisation is when original EMIs cannot cover the loan principal which will increase every month. </li></ul>Indian <keyword id="6371902" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="home-buyers" source="Orion">home buyers</keyword> who have been paying back lenders through equated monthly instalments (EMIs) are in for a rude shock as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) raised a key interest rate for the fifth time this year to 6.25% on Wednesday. Experts say, now, lenders will have to bump up monthly payouts. While the quantum of the central bank’s hike was lower than the last three increases – at 35 basis points as opposed to 50-basis point hikes earlier,<a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/finance/news/rbi-hikes-repo-rate-by-35-bps-taking-rates-to-a-high-of-6-25/articleshow/96045841.cms"> the sharp rise in interest rates in the last seven months </a>will increase the <keyword id="6357050" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="emi" source="Orion">EMI</keyword> burden extensively. Moreso because those borrowers who have been avoiding a bigger EMI in lieu of an extended loan tenor until now, have exhausted this option. Shrikant Shrivastava, chief risk officer, at India Mortgage Guarantee Corporation said that most banks have fully passed on the repo rate increase of 190 bps – in the last four rate hikes – to the consumers of home loans, till date. With the latest rate hike, he expects EMIs to go up further by another 3-5%. “This rate hike of 190 bps has resulted in a loan tenor increase of around 13 years for borrowers who had initially opted for a 20 years loan period, assuming they had taken a <keyword id="6354730" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="home-loan" source="Orion">home loan</keyword> at 6% at the time of home purchase. Alternatively, those borrowers who opted for an EMI increase instead of a loan tenor increase have seen their EMI go up by around 20% already,” said Shrivastava. Current home loan borrowers, who have had their home loan original interest rate at 10-11% and initial <keyword id="15721223" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="loan-tenors" source="Orion">loan tenors</keyword> above 25 years — will have no option but to increase their EMIs. Any attempt to increase loan tenor further, would result in the loan becoming negatively amortised. Negative amortisation is when the EMI is unable to cover the monthly interest payment – it means that every month, the loan principal goes up instead of going down, in spite of payments. That would result in the loan ballooning over the long term, making it expensive for the borrower. Here is how much your interest rate will go up Anuj Puri, the chairman of Anarock Group believes that the rate hike is a set back for new and old borrowers both, as borrowers will have to shell out more per month as EMIs. “Soon, banks and lending institutions will follow suit with today’s repo rate hike and increase their marginal cost of fund-based lending rates (MCLR). For existing borrowers, their EMI will be revised at the reset date of their loans,” Puri said. As the rate of interest is hiked by 0.35% and if it is passed on to the consumer by the banks, then the EMI of a loan of ₹10 lakh taken at 8.5% for ten years will increase by around ₹300 per month, said Atul Monga, chief executive and founder of Basic Home Loan. Similarly, for a ₹50 lakh loan outstanding with a bank at a 10% interest rate spread across 20 years, the effective EMI would be ₹48,251. After the rate hike is passed on, the new EMI would be about ₹49,249 – a monthly increase of ₹998. “To deal with the impact of a higher interest rate, it is important to maintain good credit, research the best rate offers, and consider refinancing existing loans to lower the monthly payments. Customers can also opt for long tenures or switch to a floating rate of interest," Monga said. A few real estate consultants, however, believe that the rate at which banks will pass on the interest rate hike might not be as much. “The rise in policy rate leads to an increase in lending rates, which impacts the sentiment of stakeholders. However, the moderation in repo rate hike augurs well for the real estate sector as its pace has slowed down even as the resultant transmission to end-users is likely to be delayed or moderated by the banks,” said Samantak Das, chief economist, and head of research at JLL India. Be prepared to pay higher EMIs: No room for loan tenor increase after RBI’s latest rate hike

The company which makes industrial explosives has captured a quarter of the Indian market share, with more to come. “Solar Industries is a market leader in the Indian industrial explosives market which is marked by high entry barriers. Solar Industries, on the back of demonstrated track record of project execution is well positioned to leverage the structural growth story in industrial explosives in India,” said a research report by <keyword id="6391710" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="aditya-birla-capital" source="Orion">Aditya Birla Capital</keyword>. Good track record with levers ahead The Nagpur-based company has also demonstrated a good yet steady earnings and revenue growth of 66% over FY21-23 — aided by both strong sales volumes as well as higher realisations due to firm raw material prices. It has a strong margin profile of 19-21% over the last eight years due to price variation clauses in bulk explosives, adds <keyword id="46999" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="centrum-broking" source="Orion">Centrum Broking</keyword> which has identified the company as a high conviction stock. “Margin to improve in future due to improving revenue mix with growing share of defence segment,” Centrum said. Moreso, raw material prices have dropped 35% YoY in the first quarter. The company has guided an annual volume growth of 15-20%, and the EBITDA margin expected to be in the range of 20%-22%. EBITDA is earnings before interest tax depreciation and amortisation. The company for whom Coal India is a key buyer, has also forayed into large global mining markets like South Africa, Australia and Indonesia – adding to the upside its revenues can provide. “The company has also forayed into certain offshore markets like Nigeria, Zambia, Turkey, South Africa and Australia to name a few, which offer strong growth potential and a revenue contribution of over 25% from offshore regions,” Aditya Birla Capital says. Too hot to buy? While there is a revenue upside for the company, the stock is currently too expensive for an entry — even as there is long term growth potential. It is currently trading at ₹4,920 which is above the target price of ₹4,700 based on 40x of FY25 earnings, as per Centrum Broking. The stock has given 47% returns in the last one year — but has run up by 28% in the last month due to large order wins. Yet, analysts believe that this run might only affect its short-term gains since long term potential is intact. “We remain optimistic about the company’s ability to deliver sustained earnings growth driven by volumes and mix improvement over the long term, however, believe high valuations are likely to impede upside potential in stock price in the short term,” said Aditya Birla Capital. The downside risks for the stock include slowdown in mining and construction activities which can hamper demand. Added to that, its high revenue of around 40% from international markets, delay or inability in managing sharp currency fluctuations can impact its margins.

Strong roadmap lifts this ‘explosive’ stock but high valuations might spoil the party

<ul><li>The Nasdaq-listed Indian company’s total income went up 47% in Q4 compared to the same period last year. </li><li>By the end of the financial year, the company’s power capacity increased 28% on a YoY basis. </li><li><keyword id="944686" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="renew-power" source="Orion">Renew Power</keyword> says it expects to build 1,750-2,250MW of power capacity by the end of FY24. </li></ul>ReNew, one of India’s top green energy companies, posted a net profit of ₹7.4 crore ($1 million) for the fourth quarter of FY23. In the same quarter last year, it posted a net loss of ₹355 crore ($43 million). The Nasdaq-listed company saw its total income go up by 47% to ₹2,591 crore or $315 million on a YoY basis. Its adjusted EBITDA for the quarter stood at ₹1,201 crore ($146 million) as against ₹1,279 crore ($156 million) in Q4 FY22. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax,depreciation and amortisation. By the end of FY23, the company’s portfolio consisted of 13.7 GW — which increased 28% on a YoY basis. Of this, around 8 GW is commissioned and 5.7 GW is committed. The renewable energy company with interests in wind and solar energy said that it has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with various buyers to the tune of 101 megawatts during the quarter. “Only around 1% of our total portfolio have Letters of Award that await a PPA,” the company said in a press release. Its ability to collect payments also improved for the quarter over the last year, with Days Sales Outstanding at 138 days — which showed a 74-day improvement. Days sales outstanding is the average number of days that it takes to collect payment after a sale has been made. This is key for power generators who sell to utilities. For FY23, its total revenue increased by 29% to ₹8,930 crore ($1,087 million). However it posted a net loss of ₹503 crore ($61 million) for the financial year. For FY24, the company’s guidance involves generating a cash flow to equity of ₹600-800 crore. It also intends to post an adjusted EBITDA of ₹6,000-6,600 crore. This guidance however is subject to weather being similar to FY23, the company says. It also intends to build 1,750-2,250MW of power capacity by the end of the financial year.
