The invitees to the consecration ceremony at the <keyword id="41267" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ram-temple" source="Orion">Ram temple</keyword> continued to arrive at the temple town on Monday morning with locals and devotees gathering on both sides of the road waving saffron flags and dancing to the tunes of songs dedicated to Lord Ram. Religious fervour gripped <keyword id="6354931" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ayodhya" source="Orion">Ayodhya</keyword> with biting cold failing to dampen the spirits of those who have flocked here to witness the historic moment. The holy town is all set to welcome Lord Ram with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to participate in the consecration ceremony. The invitees who arrived early this morning included RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Anupam Kher, Kailash Kher, Jubin Nautiyal, Prasson Joshi, Manoj Joshi, <keyword id="19919207" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sachin-tendulkar" source="keywords">Sachin Tendulkar</keyword>, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, <keyword id="20284870" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ravishankar-prasad" source="keywords">Ravishankar Prasad</keyword> and Anil Ambani. Hema Malini, Kangana Ranaut, <keyword id="20284869" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sr-sri-ravishankar" source="keywords">Sr Sri Ravishankar</keyword>, Morari Bapu, Rajnikant, Pavan Kalyan. Madhur Bhandarkar, Subhash Ghai, Shefali Shah and Sonu Nigam arrived in Ayodhya on Sunday. 'Ram dhun' played in the streets from early morning, as security personnel kept a tight vigil across the Ayodhya districts. The 'Pran Pratishtha' of the idol of <keyword id="19904197" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ram-lalla" source="keywords">Ram Lalla</keyword> -- the childhood form of Lord Ram -- will be attended by people from all walks of life, including representatives of major spiritual and religious sects of the country and of various tribal communities and prominent personalities. According to temple trust, all invitees will have a bell which they will ring during the aarti. Army helicopters were shower flower petals during the aarti. The ceremony will begin at 12:20 pm, and according to the temple trust, it is expected to end by 1 pm. Following this, the prime minister will address the gathering. "The prime minister will also interact with 'shramjeevis' associated with the construction of the temple," a member of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which is in charge of the construction and management of the Ram temple, said. Modi will also visit Kuber Tila, where an ancient Shiv temple has been restored. He will perform a 'pooja' there, the member said. The magnificent Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir has been constructed in the traditional Nagara style. Its length (east-west) is 380 feet, width 250 feet and height 161 feet. It is supported by 392 pillars and has 44 doors. The pillars and walls of the temple showcase intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, gods and goddesses. The idol of Ram Lalla has been placed in the sanctum sanctorum on the temple's ground floor. The consecration rituals for the 'Pran Pratishtha' started from the Saryu river on January 16 and will be completed on Monday afternoon on the 'Abhijeet Muhurta', according to the trust. Lakhs of people are expected to watch the event live on TV and online platforms as the Central government has announced a half-day off on January 22 and many states followed suit. Temples across the country have announced special festivities on the occasion. From Washington DC to Paris to Sydney, events have been also planned in various parts of the world by either the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) or Hindu diaspora groups. Fourteen couples from various parts of India will be the 'yajmaans' (hosts) for the 'Pran Pratishtha' of the new 51-inch idol of Ram Lalla. The idol was sculpted by Mysuru-based Arun Yogiraj and was placed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple last Thursday. The Ram temple has been decorated with "rich stocks" of flowers and special lights and the entire city is drenched in religious fervour. Streetlights on flyovers have been decorated with artwork depicting Lord Ram as well as cutouts of bow and arrow, and ornamental lampposts carry designs themed on the traditional "<keyword id="20268635" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ramanandi-tilak" source="keywords">Ramanandi tilak</keyword>". A multi-layer security cover is in place in Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony, with 10,000 CCTV cameras and drones equipped with artificial intelligence keeping an eye on the movement of people. Police personnel in plain clothes have been deployed at the venue. Movable barriers with barbed wires attached to them can be spotted at every prominent crossroads in the temple town, as police use them to regulate traffic, especially during VVIP movements. Multiple NDRF teams trained to tackle chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear attacks, drowning incidents and disasters like earthquakes have also been deployed. While more than 7,000 people are on the list of invitees for the event, the select list features 506 A-listers. Business tycoons Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani are among the prominent people invited to the event. Those attending the "Pran Prathishtha" also include people linked to the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation. Almost all opposition leaders invited to the ceremony have declined to be in attendance, with the Congress calling it a "BJP-RSS event". The new Ram Lalla idol was consecrated at the Ayodhya temple on Monday. It was led by Prime Minister Modi and watched by lakhs of people on television at their homes and in temples across the country. The religious fervour and festive atmosphere that gripped the temple town of Ayodhya was visible on social media platforms too as the Ram temple -- including prominent figures attending the grand launch event -- trended on X. The people across religions, geographies and social identities joined in to celebrate this historic event, touted to be a seminal occasion in India's political and religious history. "Congrats Bharat! Today is a very proud day for India... The new temple looks like a marvel of art and beauty. Besides visuals of the newly constructed Ram temple in Ayodhya, many people also shared visuals of the Indian diaspora celebrating the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony in foreign lands -- be it lighting up the iconic New York's Times Square with Lord Ram's illustration or the one of devotees' chanting 'Jai Shri Ram' at the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris. Several BJP-run states had declared the day a holiday to allow the people to watch the ceremony on TV and also take part in events at neighbourhood temples. That said, not everyone shared the same sense of euphoria or elation over the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony and in fact said the celebration is not about divinity but one of "intimidation and humiliation of the minority community". In another post, Ankur Mishra, who describes himself as an advocate at the Delhi High Court, said he apologises to all his brothers and sisters who follow other religions in the country. "Whatever is happening, is breaking the secular fabric of India, politicisation of religion and serious threat to the integrity of India. I pray for my India," said Mishra in his post on X. The 16th century Babri mosque, which many Hindus believe was constructed on the site of Lord Ram's birthplace, was demolished by the kar sevaks on December 6, 1992. After a protracted legal battle, the Supreme Court in November 2019 ruled in favour of the construction of the temple. It also ordered allotment of a five-acre plot for the construction of a mosque. "My dearest extended family, your concern, your prayers and your wishes for Abhishek, Aishwarya, Aaradhya and me for a speedy recovery has filled me with unending gratitude. I thank you all," Amitabh wrote. The Bollywood veteran also said that though it won't be possible for him "to acknowledge and respond to all the prayers" towards the kin, he expressed his gratitude towards well wishers. "I put my hands together and say thank you for your eternal love and affection," Amitabh wrote on Twitter. Hours before his father's tweet, Abhishek confirmed Aishwarya and Aaradhya's diagnosis and said that they will be "self quarantining at home". After an interesting first day which comprised making a pre-dawn visit to Siddhivinayak Temple, meeting OS developers and attending a few business meetings, Tim Cook was all ready to let his fun side out at the dinner hosted by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in his honour. 
 
The dinner, which saw quite a few Bollywood celebrities in attendance took place at SRK's residence Mannat. The attendees included actors <keyword id="6355923" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aamir-Khan">Aamir Khan</keyword>, Amitabh Bachchan, <keyword id="6366471" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aishwarya-Rai">Aishwarya Rai</keyword> Bachchan, <keyword id="6355846" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Madhuri-Dixit">Madhuri Dixit</keyword>, Emraan Hashmi, tennis player <keyword id="487" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sania-Mirza">Sania Mirza</keyword>, director Farah Khan, acclaimed music director A.R. Rahman among others.

Kolkata, Jul 13 () Fans of Amitabh Bachchan in Kolkata have organised "mahamritunjay yagna", which they said would continue till the Bollywood superstar and his family recover from COVID-19. The prayers, which have been going on round the clock since Sunday morning, were initially planned at the "temple" dedicated to Bachchan in the Bondel Gate area of the city but had to be shifted due to waterlogging, following incessant rains. "We will continue the yagna till all members of the Bachchan family recover, which we know is a matter of few days," said Sanjoy Patodia of the Amitabh Bachchan Fans Association. "We had initially planned the 'yagna' at the temple of the 'Shahenshah' (king of kings) of the Indian film industry, but due to the rains and waterlogging we are holding the rituals in my flat, located next to the temple," he added. Amitabh Bachchan (77) and his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan (44), are undergoing treatment at the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai after testing positive for COVID-19, which they revealed on Twitter on July 11. Abhishek's wife, actor Aishwarya (46), and their eight-year-old daughter Aaradhya were also found to be COVID- 19 positive the next day but they are "self-quarantining at home". A grand idol of the superstar graces the "temple", which was built in 2001. It also has a collection of outfits, shoes and spectacles that Bachchan has used in different films. Gifted to the association by the actor himself over the years, all the items are worshipped everyday with no exception even during the coronavirus outbreak. A specially composed "Amitabh Chalisa" is recited by the fans along with 'aarti' of the idol. "However, we have not been allowing visitors in the temple since the lockdown began. The 'yagna' is also being attended by a limited number of fans," Patodia said. The association celebrates August 2, the day Bachchan got a second lease of life after being grievously injured on the sets of his film 'Coolie' 37 years back, in a big way and has grand plans for this year as well. "We all consider August 2 as the second birthday of Bachchan sir. This year we have plans to celebrate the day in a grand manner following all social distancing norms. Those who will not be allowed inside the temple can see the celebrations on internet," he said. Patodia said he was touched when Bachchan sent him an SMS inquiring about their wellbeing, following cyclone Amphan that lashed the city. "Bachchan sir and his family are aware of our love and respect. He, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaya-ji and Aishwarya-ji know us. The invitation revealed different cards for each wedding function with one crafted from silver and resembling the main gate of an ancient temple. It included several keepsakes, such as an embroidered cloth with the initials 'AR' for Anant and Radhika, a blue shawl and a silver box filled with more gifts. The simplest invitation was in a laptop-sized box with silver statues of three Gods and invitation cards. The guests were asked to confirm their presence through an email or Google Form. Those confirming their presence received a message that read: "We have received your RSVP and we look forward to welcoming you... the QR codes will be shared 6 hours prior to the event." The QR codes messaged to the mobile phones and emailed were scanned to allow entry into the venue where different coloured paper wristbands were tied on the wrist of all the guests that gave them access to different zones depending on the colour. Several film stars and cricketers as well as business tycoons like Korean electronic giant Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and his wife sported a pink wristband on their wedding day and a red one on Saturday. Employees, security and service staff wore different coloured wristbands. Ushers and a multi-layer security cover secured the sprawling venue, two sources aware of the matter said. Detailed fire and other emergency plans were worked out while an elaborate medical response preparedness resembled one reserved for heads of state. The medical response preparedness included doctors and paramedical staff with all emergency equipment at the venue. Ambulances had clearly demarcated routes to the nearest hospitals which had been primed in advance for dealing with any sort of medical emergency. "The Ambanis did not want to leave anything to chance," a source revealed. Another source said the time between the QR Code being sent and the actual event was cut this time as in the previous <keyword id="20727512" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ambani-wedding" source="keywords">Ambani wedding</keyword> some had "sold" the access to non-invited people. The dress code for all the events was Indian and international guests too wore designer traditional clothes such as embroidered sherwanis and bandhgalas. Most guests wore different clothes for the 'baraat' or wedding procession and the actual wedding on Friday. The guest list includes former British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Boris Johnson, Saudi Aramco CEO Amin H. Nasser, reality TV star Kim Kardashian and her sister Khloe, Nigerian rapper Rema, and footballer David Beckham. Business tycoon Gautam Adani came to the wedding holding hands of his little granddaughter with his son Karan and wife Preeti in tow. Kumar Mangalam Birla too came with his family. (Eds: Updating with Abhishek's latest tweets) Mumbai, Jul 12 () Actor Abhishek Bachchan said his wife, actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya will be "self quarantining at home" after they tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Sunday. A day after Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek revealed their diagnosis of COVID-19, the megastar's daughter-in-law Aishwarya (46) and granddaughter Aaradhya (8) also tested positive for the virus. Amitabh's wife, veteran actor-MP Jaya Bachchan, 71, has tested negative. In a series of tweets, Abhishek also said he and his father will "remain in hospital till the doctors decide otherwise". "Aishwarya and Aaradhya have also tested COVID-19 positive. They will be self quarantining at home. The BMC has been updated of their situation and are doing the needful. The rest of the family including my Mother have tested negative. Thank you all for your wishes and prayers," Abhishek, who is admitted to Nanavati Hospital along with his father, said. "My father and I remain in hospital till the doctors decide otherwise," he added. The actor, who is currently seen in Amazon Prime Video series "Breathe: Into The Shadows", further urged people to remain cautious and safe. "Please follow all rules!" he said. Earlier in the day, Maharashtra's Health Minister Rajesh Tope told that it was "completely" the family's decision to quarantine Aishwarya and Aaradhya at home or get them admitted to the hospital. "Swab test of the staff has been taken, the reports are awaited," Tope added. The news of coronavirus infecting the Bachchan clan triggered an outpouring of prayers and well-wishes for the 77-year-old screen icon who has dominated Bollywood for over five decades. In Ujjain, a group of his fans offered prayers at the local temple, and wished him and family speedy recovery. A fan recalled on Twitter that the megastar overcame a life-threatening injury on the sets of film "Coolie" in 1982 and will do the same now. Amitabh and Abhishek (44) shared their COVID-19 diagnosis on Twitter on Saturday, saying they were in the isolation ward of the city-based hospital. Dr Abdul Samad Ansari, director of Critical Care Services at Nanavati Hospital, on Sunday said the Bachchan father-son duo were "feeling better" and their condition was stable. "Both Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek are comfortable and feeling better. General blood chemistries are acceptable with stable vitals. Both slept well and had their breakfasts. They are stable," Ansari told . The BMC has declared four bungalows of the Bachchan family - Jalsa, Pratiksha, Janak and Vatsa - in Mumbai as containment zones and sealed them, a civic official said. Civic employees sanitised the bungalows on Sunday, the official said. Around 30 workers in these places were also screened for the coronavirus on Sunday, he added. A BMC team went to the bungalows for sanitising them and also for contact tracing, an official said. Security was also stepped up outside Bachchan's two bungalows in Juhu and outside the hospital, the police said. The coronavirus case tally in Mumbai rose to 91,457 on Saturday.
