The <keyword id="6357808" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="enforcement-directorate" source="Orion">Enforcement Directorate</keyword> Friday said it has attached a multi-storeyed commercial complex, worth more than Rs 252 crore, located in Delhi's <keyword id="138738" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="shalimar-bagh" source="Orion">Shalimar Bagh</keyword> area in connection with a money laundering investigation linked to an alleged bank fraud case against the <keyword id="692589" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="ambience-group" source="Orion">Ambience Group</keyword>. The immovable property is named <keyword id="16931757" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="ambience-tower" source="Orion">Ambience Tower</keyword> and it belongs to a company called Ambience Towers Pvt Ltd, a firm of the Ambience Group promoted by Raj Singh Gehlot, the agency said in a statement. A provisional order, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), was issued by the ED to attach the commercial building worth a total Rs 252.17 crore. The money laundering case stems from an FIR and chargesheets filed by the Jammu and Kashmir anti-corruption bureau that found that a company named Aman Hospitality Pvt. Ltd, through its promoter director Gehlot, was sanctioned a term loan facility of Rs 810 crore by a consortium of banks led by J&amp;K Bank to part finance its hotel project in Shahdara, Delhi. "The loan amount later turned into an NPA. During the investigation, it was revealed that Gehlot had diverted loan funds and layered the same through a web of bank accounts belonging to his relatives and Ambience Group companies," the ED said. Apart from the diversion of funds, it was also found that Gehlot "diverted" materials to the other project sites of the Ambience Group, it said. Gehlot was arrested by the ED in September 2021 in this case. His wife Sheela Gehlot and other directors of the Ambience Group such as Amit Gehlot, Shamsher Singh and Pawan Singh were also named as accused in the chargesheets filed by the ED earlier. The agency earlier attached assets worth Rs 20.20 crore belonging to Raj Singh Gehlot, his family members and the Ambience Group companies. Traffic at quick service restaurants, which have an average check size of about $5, were flat in the year ending June 2014 compared to same period last year, while traffic at fine dining restaurants increased 3% over the same period, according to data from The NPD Group.
The graph below illustrates the differences in traffic between high-end and low-end dining over the last three years.

Fast food chains account for 80% of restaurant visits, so declining visits to those chains weigh heavily on the restaurant industry as a whole.
NPD Group analyst Bonnie Riggs says restaurant operators need to give the middle class more dining options to make up for traffic declines at fast food chains.
Traffic at restaurants where the average check size is between $10 and $20 grew just 5% between June 2011 and June 2014, while fine dining traffic (defined as check sizes greater than $40) grew 11%.
"Although the percentage of consumers identifying themselves with the middle class is shrinking, this group still represents a large segment of the population and shouldn't be ignored," Riggs said in a release. "However, offering a good product at a fair price is no longer good enough. To attract them will take a deeper understanding of what they want when dining out."
Beyond quality, affordable food, the middle class is also seeking exceptional service, atmosphere, and ambience when dining out, she told Business Insider.
The share of households in the middle tier of income earners has fallen from 55% to 45% since the 1970s, according to the <a href="http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-american-middle-class-hasnt-gotten-a-raise-in-15-years/">New York Times</a>. 
And those households in the middle tier haven't gotten a raise since 1999. 
"After adjusting for inflation, U.S. median household income is still 8% lower than it was before the recession, 9% lower than at its peak in 1999, and essentially unchanged since the end of the Reagan administration," the Times reports.

Shopping mall operators are expected to earn 7-9 per cent higher revenue during this fiscal, driven by strong retail consumption and improved rentals in their properties, according to <keyword id="6359483" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="crisil" source="Orion">CRISIL</keyword>. "Buoyant retail sales and improved rental yields are expected to lift the revenue of mall operators by 7-9 per cent this fiscal. That would be tantamount to around 125 per cent of pre-pandemic, or fiscal 2020, revenue," it said in a statement. The rating agency said that the growth in revenue will be on a high base of FY23. During the last fiscal, CRISIL noted that "return to social normalcy after mobility curbs were lifted led to substantial growth in footfalls and a robust 60 per cent rise in revenue to around 116 per cent of the pre-pandemic level". "Additionally, high occupancy levels, solid profitability backed by cost-optimisation measures and strong balance sheets will keep the credit risk profiles of mall operators healthy this fiscal," the agency said. CRISIL Ratings has analysed 28 malls, which have leasable space of around 18 million square feet area spread across 17 cities, with a total debt of over Rs 8,000 crore. Typically, mall operators generate around 85 per cent of their income from minimum guaranteed rentals as per lease agreements, while the rest is linked to the revenue performance of the tenants. DLF, Brigade Enterprises, Macrotech Developers (Lodha Group), Nexus Select Trust, <keyword id="144998" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="phoenix-mills" source="Orion">Phoenix Mills</keyword>, Lulu Group, Pacific India, <keyword id="6436174" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="unity-group" source="Orion">Unity Group</keyword> and Ambience Group are operating Grade A shopping malls across major cities. "The exceptional revenue growth last fiscal was on a significantly weak base. In fiscals 2021 and 2022, revenue stood at 55 per cent and 74 per cent of the pre-pandemic level, respectively, as mall operators had waived off rent and allowed flexible payment terms to tenants in a bid to prevent any major decline in occupancy," the statement said. As the impact of Covid-19 waned and occupancy increased, the average per square feet leasing rate jumped 12-14 per cent in fiscal 2023, it added. "Considering the healthy performance of the sector, capex is expected to pick up over the near to medium term. While a sizeable part of it may be funded by equity from global investors, a large debt contracted for new developments will bear watching," the agency said. On the flip side, CRISIL said that the impact of the slowdown in advanced economies, and the manifestation of the lagged effect of repo rate hikes of the past can curtail discretionary spending, including retail sales. "This aspect will, therefore, be monitorable." 'Private Journeys' new trend in travel

In fact, when artist Larry Harvey, along with his friend Jerry James, started the event as a summer solstice evening ritual burning an eight-feet-tall eponymous wooden effigy with a group of just a dozen people at San Francisco's Baker Beach way back in 1986, he never thought it will eventually become one of the eagerly watched annual fests in the world. 
 
First 38,000 tickets (each one costing $380) for this year’s event attended by close to 70,000 participants were sold out in 45 minutes. You can imagine how many across the globe are glued on to make sure that they make it to the love fest. 
 
There are those who see the event as a corporate retreat where new ideas are conceived and encouraged, and new connections are made. Conversations started at the fest can later grow into bigger business collaborations. Corporate biggies even use the fest as an excuse for hiring the right talent—Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin hired Eric Schmidt, who later became Google chairman, because from a list of 50 top Silicon Valley executives, Schmidt was the only one who had been to Burning Man. This is just a stray example of the huge bunch of people who find like-minded people with the right cultural fit at the quirky art fest. In fact, attending Burning Man is also seen as a sign that companies appreciate creativity bordering on anarchy. 
 
Many participants flock to the fest because its ‘no-rules’ ambience lets them metamorphose into gypsies, hippies and free spirits—something that a typical corporate ambience doesn’t allow. 
 
There are also enough allurements for globetrotters coming from London and New York—showers, beds and air conditioning are real luxury considering the temperature hits 90 degree Fahrenheit during day before dipping to 40 degrees at night, besides hail storms and dust. 
 
And amid this jamboree, the immediate beneficiary is the northern Nevada economy—which is otherwise driven by casinos—as participants pour around $35 million a year in festival-related activities in the five-square-mile temporary city in the Black Rock Desert. Around 20 per cent of those who participated at the event in 2013 reportedly spent more than $1,000 while around 65 per cent spent more than $250. However, financial transactions are barred in the desert because Burning Man is conceived as a cashless celebration whose founding principals include the key theme of gifting, though that is not necessarily about gifting money—it could be anything: a service, a gesture or even a word uttered in the right spirit. Though one cannot spend money at Burning Man, one need to spend quite a bit doing shopping—camping, food, shade, body lights (not to get hit by a car!)—before going there. 
 
A key guiding principle of the community is decommodification—which means saying no to transactions, consumerism, sponsorship and advertising. Understandably, one wouldn’t find vendors at the fest venue, except ice and coffee sold by the organisers. Apart from huge surrealistic art installations the fest is known for, perhaps, it is the guiding principle of gifting—defined as the act of giving without the expectation of anything in return—that sets Burning Man apart from similar gatherings across the globe. Here giving is seen as a much-needed antidote to what Harvey calls ‘capitalism on steroids’. According to him, giving enhances participants’ sense of who they are and magnifies their sense of being. And Burning Man is set to grow bigger and bigger as the altered sense of being and value through the act of giving will continue to draw more participants from every corner of the world.

New Delhi, May 22 () Real estate developers on Friday welcomed cut in key interest rates but said the RBI needs to take more steps, such as one-time debt restructuring of builders loan, to provide relief to the industry which has been hit badly by the lockdown. The RBI needs to ensure that banks pass on the benefits to customers, they said. The industry hailed the extension in the moratorium on loan repayment but felt it was not enough. "The advantages extended by the RBI through reducing the repo rates are not being passed on by the banks to the customers. The series of reduction in policy rates will help all sectors including real estate which is hit by the contraction in demand and liquidity squeeze caused by the COVID 19. " However, we are hoping for quick transmission of these actions in banks' respective lending rates," CREDAI National Chairman Jaxay Shah said. "We expected more stringent measures from the RBI to revive the economy. Real Estate sector can act as a catalyst in resurrecting the economy, backed by stringent fiscal and non-fiscal measures. The move of moratorium extension is a short term piecemeal solution to a long term problem," CREDAI President Satish Magar said in a statement. Naredco President Niranjan Hiranandani said the reduction in repo rate and extension of moratorium period were steps in the right direction. "Industry though awaits one-time debt restructuring as a holistic measure to give a breather to the industries across the board and help in its quick revival," he added. Tata Realty and Infrastructure Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sanjay Dutt said this will provide some financial relief to borrowers with their equated monthly instalments (EMIs) and make it cheaper to take new loans. Sobha Vice Chairman and MD J C Sharma said: "This will further lower the home loan interest rates. Such lowest ever, most lucrative reduced EMIs will augur well for the market sentiments and the larger economy. This will induce demand for homes and will give the much-needed fillip to the current state of the economy." Puravankara Ltd MD Ashish Puravankara said: "The further reduction of the repo rate will aid in ensuring adequate flow of capital in the market. We hope that all banks will incorporate the new announcements and pass down the benefits to loan seekers." Among property consultants, Anarock Chairman Anuj Puri said the repo rate cut will further help banks to lower home loan interest rates, which may get several more fence-sitters onto the market. Anshuman Magazine, chairman and CEO - India, South East Asia, Middle East &amp; Africa, CBRE, said: "The RBI's move to cut repo rate will have a positive effect on the residential property market. This is a clear step towards reducing lending rates, encouraging liquidity, preserving financial stability and supporting overall economic growth." JLL India Country Head Ramesh Nair said the faster transmission of these benefits to the end consumer in the form of lower home loan rates will aid in improving their effective affordability. "However, one-time restructuring of loans is the need of the hour more importantly for the real estate sector which is severely ailing due to the pandemic," he added. Dhruv Agarwala, Group CEO, Housing.com and Proptiger.com, said the move will boost sentiment and demand in the residential segment. "What needs to be seen is how quickly the banks reflect this change in their respective rates," he said. Knight Frank India CMD Shishir Baijal said it would have been a big respite if the long-standing real estate industry demand for a one - time restructuring of loans was allowed along with the measures announced on Friday. Savills India CEO said the lowering of the rates may help accelerate the decisions of a section of home buyers, in the next few months, if not immediately. "It will also help in reducing the EMI burden of customers during such grave times, provided the banks pass down the rates." Among other developers, Supertech Chairman R K Arora expressed disappointment that one time restructuring of loan was not allowed. Signature Global Chairman Pradeep Aggarwal said: "Now the situation for homebuyers might improve further as home loan interest rates are expected to come down further. Affordable housing will benefit the most as the buyers of this segment are very particular about the EMIs." ABA Corp Director Amit Modi, director said the banks need to quickly transmit the announced rate cuts to the end consumer, else the whole effort will be futile. Uddhav Poddar, MD, Bhumika Group said the industry was expecting one-time restructuring of loans while Prateek Mittal, Executive Director, Sushma Group, said the realty sector will benefit from the rate cut. New Delhi, Apr 17 () The real estate industry on Friday hailed RBI's decision to boost liquidity into the system and provide relief to loans taken from NBFCs for commercial projects, but sought one-time restructuring of their loans and a stimulus package to help the sector in battling the crisis caused by the lockdown to control COVID-19.The RBI on Friday reduced the reverse repo rate - the rate at which banks park their fund with the central bank - by 25 basis points to encourage banks to lend to the productive sectors of the economy. It also announced an additional Rs 50,000 crore through targeted long-term repo operation (TLTRO) and another re-financing window of Rs 50,000 crore for institutions like Nabard, National Housing Bank and Sidbi.CREDAI Chairman Jaxay Shah said: " We welcome the RBI's decision of providing the liquidity boost to the realty sector. We are hopeful that the government will soon aid the sector with the announcement of the much needed economic package."The RBI has allowed NBFCs to extend the date for commencement for commercial operations (DCCO) in respect of loans to commercial real estate projects by an additional one year if the projects got delayed for reasons beyond the control of promoters.CREDAI President Satish Magar said, measures such as extension of DCCO, fresh LTRO and reverse repo rate cut will help uplift the economic slowdown."Loans given by NBFCs to real estate companies will get similar benefits as given by scheduled commercial banks, thus easing the financial burden on developers," he said. Naredco President Niranjan Hiranandani said: "From the perspective of regulatory norms to spur an economic revival, the measures announced aim to maintain adequate liquidity in the system, facilitate bank credit flow and ease financial stress. These are absolutely welcome, given that economic activity has come to a standstill during the lockdown."He said the announcement that loans given by NBFCs to real estate companies would get similar benefits as given by the scheduled commercial banks was positive. It will help provide capital to HFCs and eventually provide major relief to developers battling liquidity issues in COVID-19 times."Tata Realty and Infrastructure MD &amp; CEO Sanjay Dutt said the RBI's measures will provide some relief to the sector, which had already been dealing with its own set of issues prior to the pandemic. This will provide a boost to various real estate activities."As per the RBI data, NBFCs outstanding credit to the commercial real estate stood at Rs 1,29,359 crore as of September-end 2019, he said. "The relaxation of NPA classification norms and extension of one year for commencement of projects to real estate developers by NBFCs will provide the much needed relief to the sector," Nair said. New Delhi, Apr 15 () The real estate industry on Wednesday said the government's decision to allow construction on those projects where labourers are already available on sites will solve the problem of migrant daily wage workers but said availability of raw materials may be an issue. NAREDCO President Niranjan Hiranandani said, "The government has issued an order which allows staggered reopening on the stalled construction work to partially resume from 20 April 2020, subject to terms and conditions. The real estate industry acknowledges the positive impact this will have in handling the migrant crisis." The relaxation has come at the right time as the situation was very grim to keep construction workers at the site afloat, he said. Credai National Chairman Jaxay Shah said the directives issued by the Ministry of Home affairs will boost the country's economic growth in a slow but steady manner. "We, however, await the directives by the state government," he said. The realty sector remains the second largest employer after agriculture and halt in construction activities will have a long-term impact on the realty sector, Shah noted. "We therefore urge the government to allow construction activity and supply chain in a staggered manner. We are already taking care of the workers and construction can begin amidst the present conditions. We are also ready to start construction at those sites where labourers are already present with subject to the supply chain," Shah said. Anuj Puri, Chairman - ANAROCK Property Consultants said: "Offering some relief to the construction sector, the government has permitted activity to resume in non-Covid-19 hotspots, provided they follow strict social distancing guidelines. However, the guideline clearly mentions that no construction worker will be brought from outside and only those currently available on the site will be able to resume work." The move to start at least some of the construction activity on project sites, even with limited workforce, is certainly welcome, Puri said. "That said, since many migrant workers had left for their villages post lockdown 1.0 announcement, we will have to wait and see how many are actually left back to resume work. Migrant workers comprise at least 80 per cent share of the total 44 million workforce in the construction sector currently," he said. CREDAI-NCR President Pankaj Bajaj said, "We are awaiting clarity. It seems that Noida construction may be allowed outside the hotspots, But practically it seems impossible. Labour has to stay in-house. Most projects are at the finishing stage. At such stage, labour does not stay in-house." "The other problem is supply of raw material. Large restrictions are still in force for the production of those goods. My party of four arrived at the restaurant at peak dinner hour on December 29, during one of the busiest weeks of the year for tourists visiting Paris for the holidays. We were able to secure a reservation about two weeks before and could decide where in the restaurant we'd like to sit. As a food reporter, one of my favorite places to sit in a restaurant is at a chef's counter, where you can see the food being prepared and coming out. I decided to book our table at the counter, and couldn't have been more pleased with that decision.As soon as we sat down, we realized we were stationed right by the pick-up station for waiters so we got to see every dish being carried out into the dining room. We saw plates piled high with spaghetti, perfectly crisp pizzas, and certain dishes we had to ask our waitress about, begging to know, "What is that?"Every chef and cook working in the kitchen was calling out to each other in Italian, which added to the ambience and made us feel confident about the food's authenticity.<h2>The food blew me away</h2><div type="image" title="fried mozzarella and truffle pasta from libertino in paris" height="1500" width="2000" msid="102544724" hostid="261"></div>At the time of my visit in December, we started off with a round of cocktails, followed by an order of burrata with pesto, which cost €15, or about $16.50, and an order of fried mozzarella, which cost around €10, or $11. Both were exquisitely prepared, but I preferred the contrast of the fried outside of the mozzarella with the creamy inside — it tasted like a gourmet version of a mozzarella stick. For my main, I ordered the truffle pasta, which came served in a traditional French copper pot and cost €21, or about $23. The ribbons of pasta perfectly clung to the creamy sauce, while the earthy flavor of the truffles and mushrooms balanced out the rich flavor of the dish. As a truffle fanatic, I couldn't have been happier with my choice. Of course, that didn't stop me from trying other dishes on the table, including a slice of delicious Margherita pizza topped with fresh San Marzano tomato sauce (€14, or $15.40) and a bite of the restaurant's original spaghetti (€15, or about $16.50). Both blew me away.I should note that the menu at Libertino changes every month, so some of the dishes I've mentioned might not be available at other times, but I like the idea that visitors can try something a little different each time they go.As for the cost, the meal came to around €126, or roughly $138, for our group of four. We agreed that the experience and food was well worth the cost, and it was a highlight of our trip.I loved Paris so much, I'm planning another trip there next year. And I know I'll be back at Libertino — or one of the Big Mamma group's other restaurants, which all offer a similar Italian menu.
