Out of the Nifty 50 companies, 34 stocks advanced, while 16 declined. Bajaj Auto, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra (M&amp;M), ONGC, Hero Motocorp, and SBI Life emerged as the top gainers, contributing significantly to the market's rise. On the flip side, Eicher Motors, ICICI Bank, Divi's Labs, Wipro, and IndusInd Bank were the top losers, experiencing profit booking after recent rallies. The market's bullish momentum was largely influenced by anticipation surrounding the <keyword id="19899810" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reserve-Bank-of-India" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Reserve Bank of India" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Reserve Bank of India">Reserve Bank of India</keyword>'s (RBI) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting to be held October 7 to 9 and its decision on the repo rate. As the market gears up for potential rate cuts, India VIX, a volatility index, spiked by more than 9 per cent, also reflecting investor caution. Notably, India's fast composite PMI recorded a slightly slower growth in September. This is the slowest rate of growth in 2024 for the manufacturing and service sectors," she said. "According to me, to remain globally competitive, the RBI needs to match the US Fed rate, which will create a significant difference between India's lending growth and the long-term FD rates," she added. Ambala emphasized the importance of the RBI's decision in maintaining India's global competitiveness, particularly in comparison to the US Federal Reserve's rates. She noted that any repo rate cut by the RBI could inject more liquidity into the economy, potentially spurring a bullish trend in the equity market and benefiting asset classes like real estate. "If the RBI chooses a REPO rate cut, it will inject more liquidity into the economy, likely fueling a bullish market trend. On the other hand, account holders could enjoy better returns in asset classes such as the equity market and real estate," she said. "The banking and NBFC sectors are already responding to the potential rate cut, and we may see a decline of 100-200 bps points in the next 1.5 years. Since the market has been resilient, I believe it will adapt quickly to these economic changes," Ambala added. Currently, major indices such as Nifty, Bank Nifty, Financial Services, Mid Cap 100, Mid Cap 150, Next 50, FMCG, Consumption, Metal, Infrastructure, and Auto are trading at all-time highs. Sectors like NBFCs, Realty, Infrastructure, and PSU stocks are expected to remain in focus as potential rate cuts could open up significant opportunities for mid-term investors. The technical indicators show that the broader trend remains bullish, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) for Nifty standing at 74 on the daily, 75 on the weekly, and 83 on the monthly timeframe. However, Ambala advised investors to approach the market cautiously. "The Nifty index can expect support levels at 25,870 and 25,680 with resistance at 26,050 and 26,130 in the next market session," she stated.

Intensifying their protest against the Centre's new agri laws, farmers took over some toll plazas in Haryana on Saturday, not allowing authorities to collect fees from commuters. The agitating farmers had earlier said they would picket toll plazas to press their demand for a repeal of the three new laws, which were voted through in Parliament in September amid strong protests by opposition parties. More than 100 farmers led by Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leaders Malkit Singh and Manish Chaudhry gathered at a <keyword id="131150" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Toll-plaza">toll plaza</keyword> on the <keyword id="6355151" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="ambala">Ambala</keyword>-Hisar highway, around 15 kilometers from Ambala city. The BKU activists raised slogans demanding the withdrawal of the farm laws. The toll plaza employees allowed vehicles to pass through without paying any charge. A large number of police personnel were deployed at the toll plaza to maintain law and order. Farmers also did not allow the collection of fees from commuters at Bastara and Peont toll plazas in <keyword id="53970" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Karnal">Karnal</keyword>. While the Bastara toll plaza is located on NH-44, the Peont toll plaza is located on the Karnal-Jind highway. Farmers also took over four toll plazas in <keyword id="6369200" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="hisar">Hisar</keyword> district. These were Mayyar toll plaza located on Hisar-Delhi National Highway nine, Bado Patti toll plaza on the National Highway 52, Chaudharywas toll on Hisar-Rajgarh road and Landhari toll on Hisar-Sirsa road. Protesters also took over a toll plaza on Jind-Nirwana highway, Kitlana toll plaza at Charkhi Dadri road, Khuian Malkana toll plaza at Dabwali road and at some other places in the state, said farmers. Slogans were raised against BJP MLA from Gharaunda Harvinder Kalyan when his vehicle crossed the Karnal toll plaza. In Punjab, toll charges are not being collected from commuters as farmers have been staging sit-ins at toll plazas since October 1. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is suffering a loss of Rs 3 crore per day on account of farmers' protest at toll plazas in the state. There are 25 toll plazas on national highways in Punjab. The three farm laws are anticipated to bring "reforms" in the agriculture sector by removing middlemen and allowing farmers to sell their produce anywhere in the country. Farmers worry these laws will eliminate the safety net of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and do away with mandis that ensure earning. But the government says the MSP system will continue and the new laws will give farmers more options to sell their crop. Farmers from different parts of the country, including Haryana and Punjab, have been camping at various border points of Delhi for two weeks to demand a repeal of these laws. They have rejected a government offer to amend the farm laws and give a "written assurance" on continuing the MSP system. They have also threatened to block railway tracks across the country and all highways leading to Delhi if their demand is not met. He said the protests would continue till the Centre repeals the three farm laws enacted in September last year. The squadron of Rafale jets will be stationed at the Ambala air base in Haryana. The jets took off from the Merignac airbase in French port city of Bordeaux on Monday and will arrive here after covering a distance of 7,000 km with air-to-air refuelling and a single stop in the United Arab Emirates. The fleet of five jets comprises three single-seater and two twin-seater aircraft. Authorities have imposed prohibitory orders near the Ambala Air Force Station, banning shooting of videos and photography. The Ambala district administration has also prohibited people from flying private drones within the three-km radius of the air base, officials said earlier. Section 144, which prohibits assembly of four or more people, has been imposed in the villages adjoining the air base, including Dhulkot, Baldev Nagar, Garnala and Panjkhora. Ambala deputy commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma said shooting of videos or taking photographs of the boundary wall of the air base and its adjoining areas will remain strictly prohibited during the imposition of the prohibitory orders. Meanwhile, the Haryana Police has set up several check barricades and police officers were seen patrolling residential localities near the air base, making announcements over loudspeakers warning people not to stand on the rooftop of their houses to click pictures or shoot videos. Violators would face punishment as per the law, they warned. At many places here, hoardings have been erected to welcome the arrival of the fighter jets with some of these mentioning that their induction will further boost <keyword id="6355075" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="IAF">IAF</keyword>'s capabilities. Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday said the people of Ambala are very enthusiastic about the arrival of the jets. "This is a very proud and a historic moment for us that the Rafale jets will be stationed in Ambala Cantonment area. Rafales are IAF's 'Sikandar', which will significantly boost our combat capabilities," he said. He said had there not been the threat of coronavirus pandemic, thousands would have gathered in the streets to welcome the jets. Nearly four years ago, India signed an inter-governmental agreement with France to purchase 36 Rafale jets under a Rs 59,000-crore deal to boost the IAF's combat capabilities. The five Rafales are scheduled to be inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Wednesday, though a formal induction ceremony would be held later. The jets will be inducted into the IAF as part of its No 17 Squadron, also known as the 'Golden Arrows'. The aircraft is capable of carrying a range of potent weapons. European missile maker MBDA's Meteor beyond visual range air-to-air missile and Scalp cruise missile will be the mainstay of the weapons package of the Rafale jets. Of the 36 jets, 30 will be fighter jets and six will be trainers. The trainer jets will be twin-seater and they will have almost all the features of the fighter jets. The IAF has undertaken major infrastructure upgrades at the Ambala base for the deployment of the first Rafale squadron. Built in 1948, the air base is located on the east side of Ambala and is used for military and government flights. The air base has two squadrons of the Jaguar combat aircraft and one squadron of the MIG-21 'Bison'. Air Force Marshal Arjan Singh was the first commander of the base. The Mirage fighters that were used for the air strike in Balakot in Pakistan in February 2019 after the Pulwama terror attack had taken off from here. Five Rafale jets to land in Ambala today

New Delhi, Feb 29 () Hero MotoCorp Ltd on Saturday said it has inaugurated the first-ever training centre for women at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Ambala in Haryana. The Centre of Excellence for Women - at ITI Ambala in Haryana will build key skill-set amongst women. Launched in association with the Skill Development and Industrial Training Department, Government of Haryana and United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the centre aims to enhance employment opportunities for women in the automotive industry. The industrial training will be imparted to women in a fully functional technician training labs set up under this association, a company statement said. Launched under Ek Pahal -- a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Hero MotoCorp -- the centre will also have a two-wheeler riding training facility for women. The centre is equipped with conventional learning facilities, including a fully automated technician training labs with pneumatic tools and precision equipment, it said. In addition, live cut sections of Hero Engines and other two-wheeler parts have also been installed to help the trainees gain hands-on expertise in latest automobile technologies, it added. Intensifying their protest against the three <keyword id="9970645" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="farm-laws">farm laws</keyword>, <keyword id="45092" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="farmers">farmers</keyword> blocked the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal expressway at some places in Haryana on Saturday. The blockade started at 8 am and would last 24 hours. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha, an umbrella body of protesting farmer unions spearheading the agitation against the agriculture-related legislations, on Friday gave a call for a 24-hour blockade of the <keyword id="6367712" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="kmp-expressway">KMP expressway</keyword>. The 136-km-long expressway is also known as the Western Peripheral Expressway. Protesting farmers, however, said emergency vehicles will be allowed to ply. Bhartiya Kisan Union (Lakhowal) general secretary Harinder Singh Lakhowal said the blockade would be for 24 hours. Haryana Police in the meanwhile issued a traffic advisory, asking travellers to avoid the KMP expressway. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Navdeep Singh Virk on Friday said elaborate arrangements were in place to maintain peace and order, prevent any kind of violence and facilitate traffic movement and public transport on the expressway. Traffic diversions have been planned by affected districts especially Sonipat, Jhajjar, Panipat, Rohtak, Palwal, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Nuh, Virk said. Passengers coming from Ambala/Chandigarh side on National Highway-44 may go towards UP's Ghaziabad and Noida via Karnal to <keyword id="6360543" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="shamli">Shamli</keyword> and from Panipat to Sanauli. Vehicles going towards Gurgaon and Jaipur can take National Highway-71A from Panipat and travel via Gohana, Rohtak, Jhajjar and Rewari. Hundreds of farmers, mostly from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have been camping at three border points of Delhi -- Singhu, Tikri (along Haryana), and <keyword id="56516" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ghazipur">Ghazipur</keyword> -- demanding a repeal of the three farm laws enacted by the <keyword id="6356303" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Centre">Centre</keyword> in September last year. The Centre says the new farm laws will free farmers from middlemen, giving them more options to sell their crops.
