BJP's double engine of jhoot and jhumla, Telangana minister on 'Alluri' controversy

Rachakonda (Telangana) [India], August 12 (ANI): The <keyword id="20688831" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Telangana-Police" source="keywords">Telangana Police</keyword> on Monday busted an interstate <keyword id="20615789" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="drug-racket" source="keywords">drug racket</keyword>, arresting two men involved in the transportation of <keyword id="20535346" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hash-oil" source="keywords">hash oil</keyword> at Pedda Amberpet in Telangana, the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate informed. In a coordinated operation, the Special Operations Team (SOT) from LB Nagar, along with the Hayath Nagar police, successfully apprehended the two <keyword id="21961620" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="interstate-drug" source="keywords">interstate drug</keyword> peddlers. The accused have been identified as 30-year-old Vanchurbha Konda Babu and 20-year-old Vanchurbha Balakrishna. The police seized 13.5 kilograms of hashish oil worth approximately Rs14 crores, Rs2,000 in cash, two mobile phones, packaging materials weighing about 1 kilogram, and other incriminating items from their possession. "The accused, Vanchurbha Konda Babu and Vanchurbha Balakrishna, are cousins and natives of Andhra Pradesh. They earn their livelihood through agricultural work. However, they became involved in this illicit drug trade to make easy money. The accused were procuring hashish oil from Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, transporting it, and selling it in the Bengaluru market, using Hyderabad as a transit route," the police stated. According to the police, during routine visits to a nearby cattle market in Annavaram, Alluri Seetharama Raju District, Vanchurbha Konda Babu befriended an individual who introduced him to the illicit drug trade, promising significant profits. Konda Babu, along with his cousin Balakrishna, who had previously been arrested by Vizag Police in a case related to the NDPS Act, agreed to participate in the illegal trade. The duo procured hash oil at a low cost and sold it to a receiver in Bengaluru for more than 10 times the purchase price, making significant profits, the police informed. On August 10, Konda Babu and Balakrishna procured the hash oil at Chaduru Mamidi Kondalu, located 15 kilometers from their village, and traveled to the outskirts of Hyderabad after receiving an order for 14 kilograms of hash oil from a Bengaluru-based buyer. On the evening of August 11, the LB Nagar Zone team, along with Hayath Nagar Police, arrested the two while they were waiting for the buyer at Taaza Foods Hotel in Pedda Amberpet village. The man who placed the order is currently absconding. Efforts are underway to apprehend him. In recent days, the Rachakonda police have arrested several drug peddlers, including a father, son, and siblings. The police noted that the accused often involve their family members and close relatives in the illicit drug trade to make easy money. Notably, approximately 35 to 40 kilograms of ganja are used to produce 1 kilogram of hashish oil, meaning the total 13.5 kilograms of hashish oil seized required approximately 560 kilograms of ganja. According to Mr. Ramesh Alluri Reddy, CEO at TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship, this “significant investment in skill development programs and the incentivization of industries to adopt comprehensive apprenticeships lays a solid foundation for a future-ready workforce. Integrating on-the-job training (OJT) as a mandated component of degrees, in collaboration with industry partners, allows students to gain invaluable practical experience, even if the training is not necessarily on-site.” “This initiative is a welcome move towards formal job creation, bridging the gap between theoretical education and real-world application, making graduates more job-ready.” <h2>Focus on skilling</h2>The Finance Minister said that the model skilling loan scheme will be revised to facilitate loans up to Rs 7.5 lakh. Further, a new scheme focussing on skilling will benefit 20 lakh individuals and ensure the set up of 1,000 training institutes and newly designed courses. <h2>Education loans</h2>The Union Budget 2024-25 proposes a revision of the Model Skill Loan Scheme to help 25,000 students every year. E-vouchers for loans up to Rs. 10 lakh for higher education in domestic institutions will be given directly to 1 lakh students every year with interest subvention of 3% of loan amount, said FM Sitharaman. Meanwhile, in the Interim Budget detailed in February 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted a notable increase in higher educational institutes and women enrolling in STEM courses over the past decade, attributing these improvements to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Further, contrary to expectations, funding for the University Grants Commission (UGC) was reduced by 60.99%, dropping to Rs. 2,500 crore from the previous year's revised estimate of Rs. 6,409 crore. Modi remembers Nehru and Sarvarkar in his speech today

Hyderabad, Nov 15 (IANS) Veteran Tollywood actor Krishna passed away at a hospital in Hyderabad early Tuesday while undergoing treatment after he suffered cardiac arrest. He was 79. <keyword id="1515523" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="superstar-krishna" source="Orion">Superstar Krishna</keyword>, one of the last legends of Telugu film industry, breathed his last at Continental Hospital, where he was admitted late Sunday night after he suffered cardiac arrest. According to doctors he was brought to the hospitals in an unconscious state but was revived after 20 minutes of CPR. He was put on a ventilator and his condition was critical. Krishna's son and popular actor Mahesh Babu and other family members were present at the hospital. Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy or Krishna, as he was popularly known, acted in more than 350 films in a career spanning five decades. He also produced and directed a few films. Born on May 31, 1942 at Burripalem in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, Krishna entered the film industry in early 1960s with small roles. He debuted as the lead actor with the 1965 movie aThene Manasulu', which became a hit. 'Gudacchari 116' (1966), a spy film, proved to be a superhit, making Krishna one of the most sought after actors. With this success, he got offers for 20 films. He subsequently acted in at least six James Bond like movies. 'Sakshi' (1967) won critical acclaim at the Tashkent film festival. His 1972 movie 'Pandanti Kapuram' bagged the national film award for best feature film in Telugu for that year. Krishna is known for many landmark movies like 'Alluri Seetharama Raju' (19767), which was the first cinemascope movie in Tollywood, 'Eenadu' (1982), first Eastman color film and 'Simhasanam' (1986), the first 70 mm film. The superstar founded Padmalaya Studio in 1970 and produced some highly successful movies. Krishna married Indira Devi in 1965. They had two sons including Mahesh Babu and three daughters. In 1969, he married actor Vijaya Nirmala and had one son from her. She died in 2019. The superstar was reported to be depressed since the death of his wife Indira Devi in September. Early this year, he lost his elder son Ramesh Babu. Krishna was considered close to former Prime Minister Rahiv Gandhi. He joined the Congress party in 1984 and was a critic of legendary actor N.T. Rama Rao and his Telugu Desam Party. Krishna had made few films criticising NTR and his government. Krishna was elected to Lok sabha from Eluru in 1989 but lost the election in 1991 from the same constituency. After Rajiv Gandhi's assassination, Krishna distanced himself from politics He received several awards including NTR national award in 2003. In 2009, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Indian cinema.

The <keyword id="37102" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="andhra-pradesh" source="Orion">Andhra Pradesh</keyword> government on Friday decided to rename <keyword id="13543161" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="konaseema-district" source="Orion">Konaseema district</keyword> as Dr B R Ambedkar Konaseema district, a month after the district was rocked by violence protesting against the proposal. The state Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister <keyword id="12659379" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="y-s-jagan-mohan-reddy" source="Orion">Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy</keyword> approved the gazette notification issued on May 18 to rename the district. Police have stepped up security across the district, especially district headquarters Amalapuram which witnessed mob violence on May 24 against the government's move. Dozens of people, including 25 police personnel, were injured in the violence. Protesters opposing the proposal to rename the district set afire houses of state minister P. Viswaroop and MLA P. Satish and also torched a few police and private vehicles. In view of the Cabinet decision, police made elaborate security arrangements to prevent any protests. Additional forces were deployed in the town and in other parts of the district to prevent any untoward incident. A tight vigil was being maintained on the organisations which had organised massive protests leading to the violence last month. The state government on May 18 issued a notification inviting objections and suggestions on the proposal to rename the Konaseema district as Dr Ambedkar Konaseema district. It sought suggestions and objections from the people residing within Konaseema. The 30 days period to send objections and suggestions came to an end last week. The Konaseema district was carved out from East Godavari with Amalapuram as its headquarters. It was one of the 13 districts created on April 4, taking the total number of districts in the state to 26. The government had named some of the districts after prominent personalities like freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju, former chief minister and TDP founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, who was popular as NTR. Similarly, two new districts were named after saint composer Tallapaka Annamacharya (Annamayya) and Satya Sai Baba (Sri Satya Sai). The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government headed by Jagan Mohan Reddy had come under criticism from Dalit groups and others for not naming a district after Ambedkar. However, the decision by the government to rename Konaseema district drew flak from some groups. Hundreds of people had participated in the protest called by Konaseema Sadhana Samithi (KSS) on May 24 and this led to violence. Investigation by the police has revealed that two dominant castes in the district -- Kapus and Setti Balijasa -- came together to oppose the move to rename Konaseema district after Ambedkar. According to police, the coming together of these communities intensified the protests against the renaming of the district as more people participated in the agitation. Andhra Pradesh government renames Konaseema district after Dr B R Ambedkar

Amaravati, April 4 (IANS) In a major administrative overhaul aimed at decentralisation of governance and balanced development, <keyword id="37102" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="andhra-pradesh" source="Orion">Andhra Pradesh</keyword> on Monday created 13 new districts taking the total number to 26. Chief Minister Y.S. <keyword id="64899" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="jagan-mohan-reddy" source="Orion">Jagan Mohan Reddy</keyword> launched the new districts in a virtual mode from his official residence here. Ministers, MPs, MLAs, district collectors and superintendents of police attended the inaugural programmes in their respective districts. The Chief Minister said a new beginning has been made with the reorganisation of 13 districts to double the number. He said from the state capital to the village, his government was following the policy of decentralisation. He said the exercise was undertaken to ensure decentralised development of all regions by taking governance closer to the people. The Chief Minister said while retaining names of 13 old districts, 13 new districts have been carved out for decentralised, accelerated and balanced growth and for administrative convenience. Jagan <keyword id="85706" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="mohan-reddy" source="Orion">Mohan Reddy</keyword> said the new districts have been formed in accordance with the public opinion. He claimed that while naming the new districts, the government took into consideration various factors, including sentiments of the local people. He pointed out that since the formation of the state 70 years ago, only two districts were created. The Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh with a population of 4.96 crore required new districts. "Till yesterday, we had one district for a population of 38.15 lakh but now with creation of 13 new districts, there is one district for a population of 19.07 lakh," he said. The year began on a tragic note with the death of actor-producer <keyword id="207378" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="ramesh-babu" source="Orion">Ramesh Babu</keyword>, elder brother of popular actor Mahesh Babu, in January. Ramesh Babu was known for films such as Bazaar Rowdy, Mugguru Kodukulu and others. After his retirement from acting in 1997, he had become a producer. April saw the death of three veteran Tollywood personalities. Director Sarath passed away at the age of 74 after battling cancer. Sarath, who made his directorial debut in 1986 with Chadastapu Mogudu, made over 20 films in his career. He predominantly worked with actors Nandamuri Balakrishna and Suman. While he delivered superhits such as Vamshanikokkadu, Sulthan, Peddannayya, and Vamshoddharakudu, he directed Suman in films Bava Bavamaridi, Peddinti Alludu, and Chinna Alludu. The same month, veteran actor M. Balayya passed away at the age of 94. He had acted in more than 300 films and was popular for playing the role of the elderly and other important roles in several super hit movies. Veteran director Tatineni Rama Rao's death came as another loss to Tollywood. He passed away in Chennai at the age of 84. He started his career in the film industry as an assistant director and made his directorial debut with Navarathri (1966), starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Savitri in the lead roles. He directed more than 65 films in Telugu and Hindi. He directed blockbusters such as Brahmachari (1966), Manchi Mitrulu (1969), Jeevana Tarangalu (1973), Dorababu (1974), Yamagola (1977), Anuraga Devatha (1982) and Pachchani Kapuram (1985). In September, Tollywood lost legendary actor U. V. Krishnam Raju. He passed away at the age of 83. Known as the 'rebel star' of Telugu cinema, he was the uncle of popular actor Prabhas. In a career spanning 50 years, Krishnam Raju acted in more than 180 films. He was also a recipient of five Filmfare south awards as well as three Nandi awards. His most famous works include Jeevana Tarangalu, Krishnaveni, and Bhakta Kannappa among others. Raju served as the Union Minister of state in various ministries in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government between 2000 and 2002. Even before Tollywood could recover from this shock, another veteran actor Tammareddy Chalapathi Rao passed away on December 25. He died of cardiac arrest at the age of 78. Known for his comic and villainous roles, he acted with three generations of top stars in a career spanning over five decades. He acted in more than 600 films. Chalapathi Rao made his debut in 1966 with 'Ghodachari 116'. He acted in supporting roles with leading actors like N. T. Rama Rao, Krishna, Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh. He also produced a few films. Telugu film star Ram Charan on Tuesday said he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is under home quarantine. The 35-year-old actor took to Twitter to share his diagnosis. "I have tested positive for Covid-19. No symptoms and quarantined at home. Hope to heal soon and come out stronger," Charan said in a statement. He urged all the people, who have been around him in the the past couple of days, to get tested. "More updates on my recovery soon," he added. Instead, it was a tool they could use for building iPhone apps.This new tool that Apple announced at WWDC is called SwiftUI. It builds on Swift, Apple's popular programming language that has been used to build some 450,000 apps, by the company's own arithmetic, and plugs into Xcode, the software used to build iOS and iPad apps. SwiftUI includes special features that allow developers to quickly and easily build user interfaces, or what the app looks like and how users interact with it, using Swift. It even supports Apple's new Dark Mode, which darkens the whole interface to make it more visible in low-light settings. In some ways, this is Apple's answer to popular tools like React Native, which was originally created by Facebook, or <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/google-is-taking-on-microsofts-xamarin-with-flutter-a-new-ui-toolkit-2018-12">Flutter</a>, which is from Google. Both have found lots of success in Silicon Valley and beyond for helping developers create user interfaces. Still, developers all over the world are very excited to see what Apple has in store with SwiftUI. Indeed, of all the announcements at the WWDC keynote on Monday, it was SwiftUI that got the loudest applause. "The first thought is that it's like magic," Martin Lasek, an independent developer, told Business Insider. "They were literally showing how much less code you were writing...This is really promising. I want to start digging into it."<h2>SwiftUI's special features</h2>What's special about SwiftUI is that it uses declarative syntax, which means that developers can just state what they want the app to do, rather than having to type an entire set of instructions. For example, developers can just type what fonts, colors, and even animation effects they want to use for their app, without having to go into the nitty-gritty of describing each aspect in detail. This means that Swift code written with SwiftUI is much simpler and more concise. "The level of detail and polish they wrote into their applications is something that doesn't exist in any competing framework," Orta Therox, an engineer on TypeScript at Microsoft, told Business Insider. "SwiftUI represents a different kind of programming mentality. SwiftUI is definitely the most polished developer experience for all of them so far."In addition, with SwiftUI, as programmers work on their app, they can see the changes they make in real-time. It also works in reverse - developers can drag and drop features like buttons, fonts, and colors into new places, and the code will move itself around to match. Before, developers would have to wait for the code to build before they can see the changes in preview. "This is the moment every developer is waiting for," Hemanth Alluri, an iOS engineer at Infosys, told Business Insider. "Even though Apple provides the best tools and powerful languages for their developers, it lags in auto generation output without building every time and writing a lot of code modules...These are all complexities that can be eliminated using the SwiftUI framework."<h2>How developers plan to use it</h2>Ignacio Segovia, chief <keyword id="6356323" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="enterprise">enterprise</keyword> architect at Altimetrik, predicts that SwiftUI will expand adoption of Swift. Currently, iOS apps are typically written in either Swift or an older language called Objective-C. It will make Apple platforms more fun to use."Shannon Potter, senior iOS engineer at WeTransfer, says that even though he does not think he will use SwiftUI in his day-to-day job, he plans to play around with it to see if there's anything new he can build. Before SwiftUI, he said that it was sometimes easy to lose track of where things were happening in the code, while this tool makes it easier to track."It's encouraging that Apple is forward thinking and making a framework that mirrors more sustainable ways for engineers to use their user interfaces," Potter told Business Insider. "I was impressed that they're trying to build something new from the ground up that represents what a lot of engineers are using and a lot of technologies from the web."Even non-iOS engineers were impressed. Sam Debruyn, technical lead at 3factr, typically uses Microsoft's <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/microsoft-acquires-xamarin-2016-2">Xamarin</a> to build mobile apps, but says that his interest was piqued. "The main thing when you develop an app is the time when you write code and when you see it on the screen," Debruyn told Business Insider. "With Xamarin, it takes about a minute to see what you've written.
