Why you should care: Two of the entertainment company’s founders, Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba, will be removing themselves from all aspects of the company after Utsav Chakraborty, another parter, got embroiled in the #MeToo storm in October. 3. <keyword id="7091983" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="jiosaavn">JioSaavn</keyword> goes the Spotify way by integrating Facebook and Instagram One of India’s leading music streaming service, JioSaavn, is integrating Instagram and Facebook into its platform. The news comes in within days of Spotify announcing that its going to bring Instagram like Spotify Stories on its platform. She reportedly did not want to move to India in order to keep her position at the company. Why you should care: There may have been a decrease in subscribers for Airtel and Vodafone-Idea but Reliance Jio has shown a growth of 9.4 million users. At GroupM he was head of operations in South Asia and now, at ByteDance, he will be handing the their portfolio of mobile applications that are spread out across 150 markets. Why you should care: ByteDance’s plans for TikTok already include bringing ads onto the platform. The Chinese mobile app publisher has also announced plans to a launch a paid music streaming service in the country.

<ul><li>The <keyword id="5901457" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="MeToo">#MeToo</keyword> movement has emerged in <keyword id="3658" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="India">India</keyword>, again, with Bollywood celebrities, media personalities and politicians being called out on behaving inappropriately. </li><li>While some people have been forced to leave these respective jobs, others are filing defamation lawsuits. </li><li>Even, <keyword id="11647" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Alok-Nath">Alok Nath</keyword>, the 'cultured elder' of Bollywood has been accused of sexual assault.</li></ul>Over the past three days, the #MeToo movement has been gaining momentum in India with women calling out people in Bollywood and men across India media on <keyword id="6354616" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Twitter">Twitter</keyword>. The first allegation was leveled against <keyword id="1351295" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Utsav-Chakraborty">Utsav Chakraborty</keyword>, a member of a popular comedy group called <keyword id="6468924" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="all-india-bakchod">All India Bakchod</keyword> (<keyword id="1875393" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="AIB">AIB</keyword>). A female comedian accused him of sending her pictures of his genitalia without consent. Soon enough, other women stepped up to corroborate her account with their own incidences where the comedian has either asked them for naked photos or sent them inappropriate pictures of himself. It’s been three days and #MeToo movement has hit comedians, reporters, authors, actors and filmmakers. More importantly, and finally, it seems to have spurred some actual action and change. Impact so far While India’s #MeToo movement has been pushing a lot of important men from their positions in their respective industries, it is also witnessing people retaliating by filing defamation lawsuits against women. Some tweets have already started to disappear from the social messaging platform. In Bollywood, Vikas Bahl, one of the founders of Phantom Films, was accused of forcing himself upon one of the members of the crew and subsequently masturbating in front of her.  Reports also indicate that he’s been dropped from the show he was going to direct for Amazon Prime Video and will be left out of the movie promotions of Super 30. More heads went rolling soon after. The head of HR at AIB issued a statement communicating that with Chakraborty and <keyword id="1176647" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tanmay-Bhat">Tanmay Bhat</keyword>, AIB co-founder and CEO, stepping down, the future of the company was uncertain.  While these allegations are being addressed, there’s a parallel conversation about as to what counts as ‘consent’. Encounters range from ones that are downright creepy to those that included suggestive text messages, unwanted sexual advances and assault. All this has thrown the debate open wider - while some caution against judging anyone’s experience, others have been propagating that there should be a stricter definition of consent. But India’s #MeToo movement is far from over, there are new names and allegations surfacing every day. And honestly, if you ask us, this was a long time coming.

#MeToo movement gathers momentum in India

Do you know what you want to do? Maybe you do, maybe you don’t. Maybe you’re seeing where life takes you. Maybe you don’t want to do ‘this’, but you don’t know what you wanna do! Maybe, you just ‘wanna be!’ That’s wannabe.

Did you have that conversation with parents where you say you don’t want to do the ‘traditional courses/jobs’, and they think you’re ‘artsy’, and try to lure you with money, success and US Visa? Welcome to the Club. 
 
Don’t get me wrong. These are all noble professions, but if you’re not going in with intention, you’re doing injustice to someone who has that fire in ‘em. 
 
So now you’re just ’being’. Don’t ‘be’! You don’t have time to ‘be’. 
 
Let me tell you how to not just ‘be’! 
 
Taking time out to figure what you want to do if fine, but the problem with figuring out in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Abish+Mathew">Abish</a>’s words is that it’s ‘freakin additive’! 
 
You’re just being, not doing anything. That’s the problem. 
 
Most of our parents’ lives are governed by two things - ‘log kya kahenge’ (What would others say?) and ‘tujhse shaadi kaun karega?’(Who’ll marry you?) 
 
You’ve got to accept that you’re always going to be a kid to ‘em. They want to see you succeed where they failed. They’ll always try to safeguard your ideas. 
 
You’ve got to ensure just two things – that you’re earning enough, and that you’re occasionally praised by your peers. The praise takes care of ‘log kya kahenge’ and the money takes care of ‘tujhse shaadi kaun karega!’. Just kidding about the last part. Feminists, don’t ground me. 
 
The hard fact is that you’ve to accept that maybe your parents would accept, but never really be satisfied with what you do. 
 
So why’s it important for you to do what you got to do? 
 
It’ll eat you up. Once you find what you should do, you’d live in regret till you’re here… 
 
Sure, your stress levels are going to go up, and you’re supposed to fail, even if you do what you love. That’s how we all learn. 
 
It’s when you finally succeed and your parents see you’ve arrived that they’ll say, “Fine, love that. I’ll let you be.” 
 
There’s a long way till you can ‘be’, and that’s only where you belong.

Early last year, India’s most popular comedy collective <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=All+India+Bakchod+">All India Bakchod </a>broke new ground by organising the first ever roast. 
 
A popular concept abroad, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=AIB+Knockout">AIB Knockout</a>, hosted at the NSCI auditorium in Worli, saw the funny four along with <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Karan+Johar">Karan Johar</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Aditi+Mittal">Aditi Mittal</a> take digs at actors <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Ranveer+Singh">Ranveer Singh</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Arjun+Kapoor">Arjun Kapoor</a>, who played sporting victims. 
 
What they didn’t foresee was being slapped with FIRs on the participants and organisers on the ground of obscenity. 
 
The list of offenders thus included- the President of NSCI Jayantilal Shah, secretary general NSCI Ravinder Aggarwal and participants in the AIB Roast including <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Karan+Johar">Karan Johar</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Ranveer+Singh">Ranveer Singh</a>, Rohan Joshi, Tanmay Bhatt, <keyword id="1359152" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gursimran-Khamba">Gursimran Khamba</keyword>, Ashish Shakya, Aditi Mittal, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Rajeev Masand and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Arjun+Kapoor">Arjun Kapoor</a>. 
 
“To be really honest, none of us thought it would be this big an issue, even in our wildest dreams,” admits AIB’s <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Gursimran+Khamba">Gursimran Khamba</a>, nearly a year after that incident, while speaking at <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Coalition+India">Coalition India</a>. 
 
The case, however, is still on. 
 
Adding how they were flabbergasted at the news, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Gursimran+Khamba">Khamba</a> admits their first reaction was disbelief. 
 
“I mean, come on. There are farmers dying in Maharashtra and you really want to make an issue out of this and give us three day primetime coverage?” 
 
Having cases against them did see several brands being wary of approaching them, but <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Gursimran+Khamba">Khamba</a> thinks the most damaging impact was to their confidence. 
 
“We are obviously scared now. We’ll think twice before including a joke. But, there are times that I just don’t care and think, no matter what I’m going ahead with my sketch, but later I realised that can’t be the case anymore,” <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Gursimran+Khamba">Khamba</a> adds. 
 
He says comedy is subjective, and admits they make content for a mature audience. “The reason we have Bakchod in our name is to let people know we’re for a select audience”, he adds. 
 
 “The only way you come out of something like this without getting scared in the future is if you don’t have a family to worry about or if you have the kind of money that <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Vijay+Mallya">Vijay Mallya</a> does,” he signs off.

There’s no way laughter and sarcasm can take a back seat as long as the conscience is living! That’s the crux of the newly released video by Mumbai based stand up comedy group <keyword id="6468924" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="All-India-Bakchod">All India Bakchod</keyword> (<keyword id="1875393" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="AIB">AIB</keyword>) group. If you had thought their controversial roasting sessions having gone all wrong would deter them to take a sarcastic pick on societal norms, AIB proves it incorrect. 
 
The pair of videos doing rounds in the internet (read viral) is based on Indian wedding tradition and as usual AIB takes a dig at the so called customs. The first part shows how grooms are commodities up for sale in the market of marriage. In a hilarious way, the first video takes a note of the event till the ‘Sangeet’ ceremony. 
 
 
 
While the second part shows all crucial things happening and the couple going abroad for honeymoon, the focus is also on the elder ones asking about the future progenies.

The internet breaking dress had become a laughable stock in a few hours after the photo was posted. 
 However, Sonam was far from being offended. Final countdown begins! Here’s your guide to the Future of Work Summit 2023

<ul><li>As more and more cases of sexual harassments in India have come to light through the <keyword id="5901457" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="MeToo">#MeToo</keyword> movement, the Indian government is setting up a <keyword id="6955125" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="4-judge-bench">4-judge bench</keyword> to address them.</li><li><keyword id="42851" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maneka-Gandhi">Maneka Gandhi</keyword> has also asked for extending the statute of limitations for reporting harassment to be increased to 10-15 years rather than just 3 months. </li><li>The ministry has also set up alternative methods of registering a complaint, in case victims don’t want to reach out to their respective Internal Complaints Committees.</li></ul>The #MeToo movement in India seems to finally be tipping towards action with the Maneka Gandhi, the minister of Women &amp; Child Development, stating that public hearings will be conducted to hear these cases of <keyword id="46530" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="sexual-assault">sexual assault</keyword> and harassment.

 A bench of four retired judges will be put in place by the ministry to hear out the cases that have surfaced during the #MeToo movement. The ministry’s also set up a dedicated portal for women to make their complaints, in case they don’t want to go to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), called ‘She-Box’. According to the notice by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, complainants can also reach out via email or tweet directly using the hashtag #HelpMeWCD.

 Gandhi’s also written to the law ministry to increase the time for reporting sexual assault to 10-15 years later. Currently, India’s laws against <keyword id="16048" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="sexual-harassment">sexual harassment</keyword> entailed in the POSH Act only allow victims to report harassment within 3 months of it happening. She added that “You will always remember the person who did it...Anger at sexual molestation never goes away.”

 The movement in India was started by a female stand up comedian, who accused Utsav Chakraborty of sending across unsolicited photos of his genitals. A frequent collaborator with All India Bakchod (AIB), India’s prominent comic collective, Chakraborty was fired. Even Tanmay Bhat, the CEO of AIB, stepped down in lieu of inaction despite knowing about the events that had transgressed. A number of women have spoken up there after calling out many eminent Bollywood personalities, including Sajid Khan, Subhash Ghai, Nana Patekar and Alok Nath, the supposed Babuji (elder) in the industry. Allegations have also been levelled against the junior minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the political editor at Hindustan Times and a senior Tata Motors executive.

India is setting up a judicial bench to hold public hearings on #MeToo cases

Most often than not, our day isn’t complete without viewing some videos on <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/YouTube-to-provide-viewability-of-ads-to-advertisers/articleshow/48854672.cms">Youtube</a>- be it at work, on a day off or during an afternoon hangout with friends. 
 And, <keyword id="3288480" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Satya-Raghavan">Satya Raghavan</keyword>, Entertainment Head at <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Know-why-youre-going-to-be-spending-a-lot-more-time-on-Youtube-from-April/articleshow/51441915.cms">Youtube India</a> isn’t averse to that fact either. “India loves <keyword id="10879" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="YouTube">Youtube</keyword>,” he says on the eve of Youtube’s signature Fan Fest in Mumbai, where over 35 YouTube content creators are participating. 
 
Were we always this obsessed with videos? 
 
Yes and no, according to Raghavan. “We were always consuming videos but today it’s not limited to generic music videos or repeats of our favourite TV shows. Now, the audience is using YouTube for much more than that,” he adds. 
 
According to him, the success of homegrown Youtube creators such as <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/8-best-Indian-web-only-series-of-2015/articleshow/50268799.cms">All India Bakchod</a>, Kanan Gill, Biswa Kalyan Rath as well as the massive following of Indo-Canadian comedian Lilly Singh aka IISuperwomanII has inspired thousands of Indian creators to launch their own channels on Youtube. 
 
Youtube’s growth in India has been meteoric- with overall watchtime in India growing by 80% YoY and mobile watchtime increasing at a staggering 100%. 
 
Moreover, what Indians are watching on Youtube has changed too. 
 
At the moment, videos by the Youtube creators are the favour of the season, with Indian content creators giving a stiff competition to their western counterparts. 
 
For instance, watchtime of independent musicians on YouTube grew over 92% while comedy and entertainment took the cake with 100% growth. Beauty and fashion videos is another category that has garnered an impressive following- growing over 138%. 
 
Another surprising fact is a 75% spike in watchtime growth of Tamil and Telugu content. Remember this viral video?

It’s that time of the year again. No, I’m not talking about Diwali, Durga Puja or even Dussehra. What I’m talking about is a much bigger festival than these three combined. It’s a festival which surprisingly makes the use of phones and laptops extremely mandatory. 
 
Yes, I’m talking about the festival of e-commerce sales<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=flipkart">. 
 
Flipkart</a>, <keyword id="18635" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Amazon">Amazon</keyword>, <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword> and every other website which has managed to acquire a domain name in the big bad world of the internet have guaranteed that people look forward to these sales that happen primarily due to the festive season more than they look forward to the festive season itself. 
 
Thus, don’t be surprised if during this sale week, you spot people walking on a busy road looking at their phones probably sorting through the heaps of products on discount irrespective of the fact that they’re about to walk right into a tree or people who refuse to eat, drink or take a shower until their shopping cart is as full as someone who's just finished eating at a buffet.

Let's take you through how this farce of a sale works. 
 
It starts out nice. You follow the aroma of discounts and end up staring at your laptop and even download the app in search of the discounted products that have been promised to you. 
 
What follows is thus- you find something you like at a price you think your wallet likes at a size that hugs your body just right and you ask yourself, is this what heaven looks like? 
 
But, a few minutes later calamity strikes. 
 
And as your eyes are stuck on the checkout page, hoping against hope that this is all but a dream, you receive the saddest message one could ever recieve- 
 
‘Sorry, the page is not responding’ 
 
Dread. Fear. Horror- these wash over you as you realize your worst nightmare has come true. You keep on refreshing the page, but the words still say the same. 
 
But, now you have some new information to digest... 
 
‘The product is out of stock.’ 
 
You’re gutted beyond words. But, you tell yourself that the disappointment called dating men has readied you for this very day. 
 
And, as you dry off your tears that start resembling River Nile, you start browsing once again with your head held high. 
 
Several thoughts run through your head- 
 
“Oh look! This product that I’ll never use is at 70% off. My god, that’s so cheap. We never know. I might someday be in need of it. 
 
*Add to cart*” 
 
“Yeah, I know I’ve been ranting about how Fastrack’s sunglasses are uncool and overpriced, but hey, they’re under 499! I don’t think it’ll hurt if I buy just one of those... 
 
*Add to cart*” 
 
This goes on until you manage to put an enormous number of products that could sustain an entire army in your cart and just as you’re about to checkout to a world of happiness, a very crucial moment (which comes free with two messages) arrives- 
 
Message 1: Delivery for the item(s) is not available in your pin-code. 
 
Message 2: We regret to inform you that your size is not in stock. 
 
You stare at the screen and decide that it’s enough. 
 
“These sales suck”, you tell yourself and log in to Twitter to diss them and rant to the world about how wronged you feel. 
 
And, in that moment, you realise you're not alone. 
 
Your timeline houses umpteen tweets about these websites cheating customers by marking up proices represented through angry words, videos and imagery. 
 
Then you chuckle to yourself – Sale or no sale, your bank balance still wouldn’t have been enough to afford even one-fourth of the items on your wishlist. 
 
“Joke’s on you Flipkart/Amazon/Snapdeal” 
 
And, the rest is history.

A day in the life of everyone trying to make the most of e-commerce sales

That was how India’s first youtube star, <keyword id="2517934" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bhuvan-Bam">Bhuvan Bam</keyword>, was born and so did his channel “BB Ki Vines”. Back then, India had few homegrown comedians. The Viral Fever and All India Bakchod were creating content, but in English. “I thought I should bring some kind of humour. I’ve grown up watching Kader Khan, Johnny Lever, Govinda kind of movies, David Dhawan movies, ’90s and early 2000s movies. And that was a good change for people. The language barrier was at a breaking point,” Bhuvan<a href="https://qz.com/india/1456007/the-making-of-bhuvan-bam-indias-biggest-youtube-star/"> told Quartz. </a> Five years on, Bam has a wide fan base and his videos received a billion views. He is now as famous as any other Bollywood celebrity in India — and celebrities like Karan Johar are in awe of him as well. He will now go where no one expected this expletive spewing YouTuber will go --- to the World Economic Forum. There he will rub shoulders with top Indian and international CEOs. However, he has a story to tell on how he captured the pulse of young Indians. He is also a part of a discussion on a cohesive and sustainable world. And is also likely to attend a dinner hosted by YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, who is inviting creators from around the world.
