The others include "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage," "The Defenders," and "The Punisher," of which the second season is currently filming.</p><p>Of all of them, though, "Iron Fist" has been the most chastized by critics. The show's first season, which premiered last year, has an 18% Rotten Tomatoes critic score, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/netflix-original-marvel-shows-ranked-worst-to-best-2017-9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lowest of any of the Netflix Marvel shows</a>. But it has found an audience and is one of Netflix's most popular Marvel shows.</p><p>The show's release date was revealed in a short <a href="https://youtu.be/cMtrmDhI1LQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">video</a> where Danny Rand/Iron Fist (played by Finn Jones) declares that a "war is brewing" and that it's his duty to protect his city, as he takes on a group of thugs in an alley.</p><p>During the Comic-Con panel, Marvel Television boss Jeph Loeb announced that actress Alice Eve will be playing the villain Typhoid Mary in the second season. In the comics, Typhoid Mary is a primarily an enemy of Daredevil, and has telekinetic powers.</p><p>But there could also be another villain in the second season. The show tweeted a clip on Tuesday that shows Iron Fist's symbol lit up in green light, but it turns red to reveal a different symbol: the symbol of the Steel Serphent, one of Iron Fist's main enemies in the comics. This is less surprising, given that the character already appeared in the first season as Davos, played by Sacha Dhawan.</p><p>Iron Fist has so far appeared in the first season of the show, "The Defenders" superhero team-up show, and most recently the second season of "Luke Cage." Marvel's 'Iron Fist' season 2 has set a release date on Netflix, and its villains have been revealed

(That same fan also found <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIF14mwaSKI">826 in the secon</a>). </p><p>"It has to mean something, right?" Colbert asked.</p><p>"I'll say that when we were doing Trek, I loved this idea - Now, of course, I'm going to explain this whole thing, but then when you say, well, there are 825 in 'Super 8,' I have no answer," started Abrams. Abrams.</p></div><p></p></div></div>"Every time I've seen a movie, if you look at 'Close Encounters,' 'Die Hard,' which was just referenced, it's an amazing thing that anamorphic lens, which is a lens that ... There are spherical lenses and there are anamorphic lenses that have a different kind of compression," said Abrams. "What you do is you expand the picture so on a 35 mm frame it gets basically crushed, and when you project it you use a lens that uncrushes it. But, what happens when you do that is you get these really cool oval background - when the sun's out of focus - and lens flares on anamorphic lenses, that are not coded, if you must know, had this great streaky quality and I've always loved how that looks." </p><p>"There are so many movies from my childhood that had those that when we were shooting 'Star Trek' I remember saying to Dan Mindel, the DP [director of photography], 'It would be so much fun if we' - I didn't think we were going to have quite that number of them, but it became this thing, and it was ridiculous," he said.</p><p>Abrams recalled Mindel bringing in these giant powerful halogen spotlights called "best in show" on set and they would use them while filming.</p><p>"It became this weird kind of artform of how to make the perfect lens flares with different kind of lenses," said Abrams. "And then I did 'Super 8,' and I did a lot of them there, too."</p><p>However, it was when Abrams returned to work on "Star Trek Into Darkness" that he really hit his tipping point with the art form.</p><p>"There was literally one scene where Alice Eve, who acts in the movie, was so obliterated<span> by a lens flare and I was showing the scene to my wife Katie, who just said, 'Okay, you know what? Enough. I can't see what this scene is about. Who is standing there?'" Abrams recalled. 'I'm like, 'It's Alice Eve.' "But every time there could be a flare, because he [visual effects supervisor, Roger Guyett] knows that I've liked to do that a lot, I've said, 'This is not the movie. Director J.J. Abrams explains why there are so many lens flares in 'Star Trek'

<p><em><strong><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/5b91895e8ea82f1c008b5d67-1200/iron fist.jpg" border="0" alt="iron fist" data-mce-source="Netflix" /><p class="source"><span>Netflix</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></strong></em></p><ul class="summary-list"><li><strong>In its second season, </strong>"Iron<strong> Fist" is still the worst Marvel Netflix show.</strong></li><li><strong>The show's dialogue is cringe-worthy, the plot is boring, and the main protagonist lacks charm or personality. </strong></li><li><strong>The fight sequences are impressive, but don't save the show.</strong></li></ul><p> </p><p><em><strong>Warning: This post contains spoilers for "Iron Fist" season 2.</strong></em></p><p>The first season of "Iron Fist" was met with terrible reviews and scored a dreadful 19% on Rotten Tomatoes, easily the worst of the Marvel Netflix shows that also include "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage," "The Defenders," and "The Punisher."</p><p>The second season, which premiered Friday on Netflix, tries to correct some of the problems critics had with the show the first time around with a new showrunner, Raven Metzner, and fewer episodes. The first season had 13, while the second has 10.</p><p>But despite some impressive fight choreography, "Iron Fist" is still a boring mess in its second season, with awful dialogue and a main protagonist with zero charisma. Halfway through the season, I saw no reason to continue. Since the first season was so bad, the second needed to swiftly capture my attention. Instead, I was coasting through each episode, wishing for them to be shorter than they were.</p><p>The season finds Danny Rand, a.k.a. Iron Fist (Finn Jones), tasked by Daredevil to protect New York City. The crime organization known as the Hand has been wiped out, but that's left a power vacancy for control and a war is brewing between those who wish to fill it.</p><p>The main problem with "Iron Fist" is that its lead is so stone cold. Jones (also of "Game of Thrones") has the unenviable task of bringing to life a character little known outside of the comic book community. But the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which the Netflix Marvel shows are loosely connected to, managed to do it with a number of characters on the big screen. These street-level characters - Iron Fist, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones - should benefit from the television format, but Iron Fist just can't seem to find the sweet spot. </p><p>While their big-screen counterparts in the MCU bring distinct personalities to their roles, it's hard to find any sort of personality in Jones' portrayal of Rand - unless you count cluelessness as a personality. Rand might be the most oblivious superhero of all time.</p><p>One of the main storylines involves a mysterious woman named Mary, played by Alice Eve, spying on Rand for Joy (Jessica Stroup) and Davos (Sacha Dhawan). Rand doesn't suspect her at all, even though he has only met this woman a few times, he knows nothing about her, and she's given off some serious bad vibes.</p><p>But it doesn't help that the show seems to be written by a college student who still thinks it's cool to fall back on cliche stereotypes about men and women, and some of the dialogue is too cringe-worthy to believe.</p><p>A perfect example: When Ward (Tom Pelphrey), who may be even less likeable than Rand, suggests having dinner with Joy and Davos, Rand says he has to ask his girlfriend Colleen (Jessica Henwick) first. Ward makes a whipping noise as if anyone above the age of 20 still does that, to which Danny replies, "Hey man, don't be a d---" with a huge grin on his face like they're a couple of college roommates.</p><p>Speaking of Colleen, in the first episode, the script makes her say to Rand: "How about one last heroic mission before we get some shut eye?" Spoiler: She's talking about sex. Who talks like that?</p><p>It's these instances and more that make the show agonizing to watch, and the monotony of it all just makes it worse. Netflix's 'Iron Fist' season 2 has agonizing dialogue, boring characters, and impressive fight choreography

<p class="p1">While watching the new <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/new-star-trek-into-darkness-trailer-2013-3" target="_blank">"Star Trek Into Darkness" trailer</a>, we couldn't help but notice there was one moment that looked glaringly out of place. </p>
<p class="p1">The moment features actress Alice Eve scantily clad in a trailer heavily centered <span style="line-height: 1.5em;">around the </span><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">villain, played by Benedict Cumberbatch. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Turns out the scene depicts a <a href="http://bit.ly/WyJV4F" target="_blank">hidden URL</a> featuring a new poster for the film. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">If you've viewed the trailer for the film, the moment oddly pops up near the end of the trailer. </span></p>
