New Delhi, Mar 17 () Alembic Pharmaceuticals on Tuesday said it has received an EIR from the US health regulator after inspection of its active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) facility at Karakhadi in Gujarat.The inspection was conducted during January 13-17."The company has received Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for the inspection carried out by them at our API facility at Karakhadi," the drug firm said in a filing to the BSE.Shares of Alembic Pharma were trading at Rs 534.00 apiece on the BSE, up 0.55 per cent from the previous close. New Delhi, Jan 15 () Drug firm Alembic Pharmaceuticals on Wednesday said it has received final nod from the US health regulator for Tizanidine hydrochloride capsules, used to treat spasticity.
 "The company has received final approval from the US Food &amp; Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) Tizanidine Hydrochloride Capsules, 2 mg, 4 mg, and 6 mg," the drug firm said in a regulatory filing.
 Tizanidine hydrochloride is a central alpha-2-adrenergic agonist indicated for the management of spasticity.
 Because of the short duration of therapeutic effect, treatment with tizanidine hydrochloride capsules should be reserved for those daily activities and times when relief of spasticity is most important.
 "The approved ANDA is therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug product (RLD) Zanaflex Capsules, 2 mg, 4 mg, and 6 mg, of Covis Pharma BV," the filing said.
 Tizanidine hydrochloride capsules, 2 mg, 4 mg, and 6 mg have an estimated market size of USD 28 million for twelve months ending September 2019 according to IQVIA. 
 Alembic has a cumulative total of 111 ANDA approval -- 99 final approvals and 12 tentative approvals -- from USFDA.

Alembic Pharma gets USFDA nod for generic cancer drug

New Delhi, Jan 24 () Alembic Pharmaceuticals (Alembic) on Friday said it has received final nod from US health regulator for Bosentan tablets, used for treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension.
"Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd (Alembic) today announced it has received final approval from the US Food &amp; Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) Bosentan tablets, 62.5 mg and 125 mg," the firm said in a BSE filing.
Bosentan tablets is for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension.
"ANDA is therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug product (RLD) Tracleer Tablets, 62.5 mg and 125 mg, of Actelion Pharmaceuticals Ltd," the filing said.
Bosentan Tablets, 62.5 mg and 125 mg have an estimated market size of USD 68 million for twelve months ending September 2019, according to IQVIA.
Alembic has a cumulative total of 114 ANDA approvals from USFDA.

Alembic Pharma gets final USFDA nod for hypertension drug

New Delhi, Jan 23 () Alembic Pharmaceuticals on Thursday said it has received final nod from the US health regulator for fenofibrate tablets, which reduces cholesterol and triglycerides in blood.
"Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited (Alembic)...has received final approval from the US Food &amp; Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) Fenofibrate Tablets USP, 54 mg and 160 mg.
"The approved ANDA is therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug product (RLD) Tricor Tablets, 54 mg and 160 mg, of AbbVie Inc (AbbVie)," the drug firm said in a BSE filing.
Fenofibrate tablets have an estimated market size of USD 100 million for twelve months ending September 2019, according to IQVIA.
"Fenofibrate tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet to reduce elevated LDL-C, Total-C, TG and Apo B, and to increase HDL-C in adult patients with primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidaemia and for treatment of adult patients with severe hypertriglyceridemia," it said.

New Delhi, Jan 28 () Drug firm Alembic Pharmaceuticals on Tuesday said it has received a final nod from the US health regulator for Azithromycin tablets, used for the treatment of infections.
 "Alembic Pharmaceuticals has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) Azithromycin Tablets USP, 600 mg," the drug firm said in a filing to BSE.
 Azithromycin tablet is a macrolide antibacterial drug indicated for mild to moderate infections.
 The approved ANDA is therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug product Zithromax tablets, 600 mg, of Pfizer, the filing said.
 Citing IQVIA, the company said Azithromycin tablets USP, 600 mg have an estimated market size of USD 2 million for 12 months ending September 2019.
 Alembic Pharmaceuticals has a cumulative total of 115 ANDA approvals (103 final approvals and 12 tentative approvals) from USFDA.

New Delhi, Mar 16 () Alembic Pharmaceuticals on Monday said that US health regulator has conducted an inspection at it Panelav facility in Gujarat and issued Form 483 with four procedural observations. "The US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has conducted an inspection at Alembic Pharmaceuticals general oral solid formulation facility located at Panelav from 9-13 March, 2020," the drug firm said in a filing to the BSE. This was a scheduled inspection, and at the end of the inspection, the USFDA issued a Form 483 with four procedural observations. None of the observations are related to data integrity or repetitive in nature. "The company will provide comprehensive corrective action report to address each observation. The company is committed to maintaining highest quality standards that meet USFDA standards," it said. <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>'s total merchandise exports are expected to grow by 33 per cent during the second quarter of <keyword id="5027223" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="fy22" source="Orion">FY22</keyword>, the <keyword id="402797" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="export-import-bank-of-india" source="Orion">Export-Import Bank of India</keyword> said on Friday. Accordingly, <keyword id="10407892" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india-exim-bank" source="Orion">India Exim Bank</keyword> forecast total merchandise exports in Q2FY22 to grow to $98.45 billion from $74.02 billion reported for the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Besides, non-oil exports are expected to rise 28.3 per cent to $85.63 billion, as compared to $66.73 billion reported for the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal. "The rise in India's exports could be attributed largely to the low base effect, pick-up in growth in advanced economies and the resultant increase in global import demand," India Exim Bank said in a statement. "Increase in commodity prices have also contributed to the increase in India's exports," it added. The forecasts are based on India Exim Bank's Export Leading Index (ELI) model. These forecast are released by India Exim Bank on a quarterly basis, during the first week of June, September, December and March for the corresponding quarters. New Delhi, Nov 22 () Drug firm Alembic Pharmaceuticals on Friday said it has received approvals from the US health regulator for its generic Deferasirox tablets used for treatment of chronic iron overload due to blood transfusions in patients over two years of age.
 The company has received final approvals from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Deferasirox tablets in the strengths of 90 mg and 360 mg and Deferasirox tablets for oral suspension in the strengths of 125 mg, 250 mg, and 500 mg, Alembic Pharmaceuticals said in a regulatory filing.
 The tablets are generic versions of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation's Jadenu tablets and Exjade tablets for oral suspension in the same strengths, it added.
 The company has also received tentative nod from the US health regulator for its Deferasirox tablets in the strength of 180 mg, Alembic Pharmaceuticals said.
 According to IQVIA, estimated market size for Deferasirox tablets in the strengths of 90 mg and 360 mg was USD 415 million for the 12 months ending December 2018, it added.
 The estimated market size for Deferasirox tablets for oral suspension in the three strengths was USD 135 million for the 12 months ending December 2018 as per IQVIA, Alembic Pharmaceuticals said.
 Deferasirox tablets are indicated for the treatment of chronic iron overload due to blood transfusions in patients two years of age and older. It is also used for treatment of chronic iron overload in patients 10 years of age and older with non-transfusion-dependent thalassemia (NTDT) syndromes.
 The company now has a total of 107 abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) approvals (95 final approvals and 12 tentative approvals) from the US health regulator, it added.
 Shares of Alembic Pharmaceuticals were trading at Rs 550 per scrip on BSE, up 0.64 per cent from its previous close. AKT ANS

Alembic Pharma gets USFDA nod for generic chronic iron overload treatment tablets

New Delhi, Jan 22 () Drug firm Alembic Pharmaceuticals on Wednesday reported a 37.89 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 234.19 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2019 mainly on account of robust growth in international markets.
 The company had posted a net of Rs 169.83 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, Alembic Pharmaceuticals said in a BSE filing.
 Consolidated revenue from operations of the company rose to Rs 1,209.13 crore for the quarter under consideration as against Rs 1,018.15 crore for the same period year ago.
 "It was a good quarter for the company led by strong growth in the International markets. We launched 7 products in the US market during the quarter," Alembic Pharmaceuticals MD Pranav Amin said.
 International formulations grew by 48 per cent to Rs 664 crore in the December ended quarter, the company said.
 Shares of Alembic Pharmaceuticals were trading at Rs 588.30 per scrip on the BSE, down 1.65 per cent from its previous close. AKT SHW
