To ease rush at booking counters, the railways is mulling introducing booking of unreserved railway tickets on e-wallets like PayTM, JioMoney and <keyword id="15491" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Airtel">Airtel</keyword> Money. 
 
According to agency, the move is also expected to help scale up paperless mobile ticketing operation across the country in a big way. 
 Unreserved ticketing forms a huge chunk of the railways' total ticket sale in a day and "we want to tap this sector through e-commerce", a senior <keyword id="54441" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Railway-ministry">Railway Ministry</keyword> official told the agency. 
 
The railways will not have to bear any cost for the facility. Instead, the public transporter is expected to earn from the selected e-wallet players commission on each ticket sold and retainer fees. 
 
Many top mobile wallet companies are keen on joining the railways, the official said, adding talks were on to finalise the modalities. 
 
Since these e-wallets are already operational for booking taxis, cinema tickets and other services, joining the railways will offer a big scope for these private players. 
 
The move is a win-win proposition for both the railways and the mobile wallet companies, the official said. 
 
The railways carry total 23 million passengers in a day, of which only six per cent is in reserved category and the rest are in unreserved segment which includes daily commuters. 
 
At present, mobile ticketing options are available in a few suburban sections including Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi-Palwal. 
 
However, despite the huge scope in unreserved ticketing sector, the use of railway wallet for mobile ticketing did not elicit as good response as expected. 
 
According to the railways, the use of e-wallets like PayTM in the unreserved ticketing system is expected to boost the paperless mobile ticketing operation. 
 
While the current mobile ticketing requires geo-fencing of certain area to prevent malpractices, there is no need for such measures with these e-wallets. 
 
Discussions are on with these players for making the operation foolproof with bar-coding system as more than one crore tickets are sold daily through unreserved ticketing system, said the official. 
 
Moving ahead with the 'Digital India' mission, the railways expect to make the e-wallet system operational across the country early next year.

He also created multiple groups on <a href="https://twitter.com/BertyThomas/status/1388477672901120003">Telegram</a> for those who wish to receive alerts for their respective districts. The list is not exhaustive, but does cover most of the main metropolitan regions across the country. And Thomas isn’t using the government’s API to do it. The API is only powering the alerts, not storing your information. Similar sites like <a href="http://www.getjab.in">getjab.in</a> and <a href="http://www.findslot.in">findslot.in</a> are also doing the same thing. And, the reason they’re being allowed to stick around is because users still have to login into the CoWIN platform to register. That part of the process cannot be done externally. In the case of looking for CoWIN appointment slots, you’re placing your request on a website, and that website then relays it to the API, like the customer at the restaurant. The API then checks with the CoWIN portal — or the chef — before showing you the availability of slots. The Indian government opened up the CoWIN APIs to allow third party access, on April 28. They can be found on the government’s API Setu website which contains authentication, metadata, beneficiary registration, vaccination appointment and certificate APIs. With these APIs, the third party users can access information like vaccination centres, list of districts, vaccination appointments among others. There are two types of APIs -- public and protected. Using public APIs is not a problem and they’re freely available on the government site. In order to book an appointment, or even register, users have to share data that is personal and highly sensitive in nature. According to Step One, it does not store any of the data. It was only using the government’s open APIs, the bot passed user data to COWIN servers, and none of data was accessed by the organisation. It even offered up the code for its WhatsApp bot for further examination, but to no avail. Indian coders are working around the CoWIN app to help people bag the elusive vaccine slots

When Google had announced the details about the <keyword id="2373897" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Android-One">Android One</keyword> Program, honestly, we were a bit surprised to find <keyword id="145729" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Karbonn">Karbonn</keyword> and Spice also mentioned in the list. Karbonn has been in the Indian <keyword id="28168" type="TECHNOLOGY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Smartphone">smartphone</keyword> market for quite some time now. During the initial days, banking on sports and cricket, the company had got a good headway in the Indian market, but as more handset brands came along, Karbonn found it hard to maintain its ground. 
 
However, Karbonn has a very strong distribution network and now, as one of the first partner for the Andorid One Device, there is a lot riding on Karbonn Sparkle V (the V here is Roman number five). 
 
Design Karbonn Sparkle V is a budget offering but the same is not reflected in the design of the smartphone. It has a nice build quality and rubberised back finish. On the back panel you can see the Karbonn logo in the middle and the <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> One logo at the bottom. 
 
The power and the volume rocker button are placed on the right panel. Apart from that, there are no physical buttons on the front. 
 
On the downside, Karbonn Sparkle V does seem to have broad bezels, which most smartphones have done away with. 
 
It has 4.5 inches IPS LCD display with a resolution of 854 X 480 Pixels. Overall, the screen display looks nice with decent viewing angles. The one thing that is missing in terms of the display is the Gorilla Glass Protection that the Moto E offers but the new Android one devices don’t. 
 
Software/ Interface 
Frankly, we have so far spent only been with this newbie from Karbonn for half an hour but the interface looks really smooth. It looks like Google has spent quite a lot of time fine tuning its operating system to make sure that things can be as pleasant as it can get for a stock Android device. 
 
Apps such as moneycontrol, Keep, Olx, Saavn and Snapdeal come pre-loaded on the Karbonn Sparkle V. 
 
Processor and RAM Karbonn Sparkle V comes with a 1.3 GHz <keyword id="6369515" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Mediatek">MediaTek</keyword> along with 1 GB of RAM and Mali 400 GPU. There is also 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable by up to 32GB via microSD card. 
 
Price: Rs 6,399. Also snapdeal is currently offering an 8 GB memory card free with this phone. Also the online retailer is giving Snapdeal coupons worth Rs 2,000 (which are valid up to two months). Along with this the buyers also get Free Recharge coupons Worth Rs 200 from FreeCharge (two codes worth Rs 100 each). 
 There is also an <keyword id="15491" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Airtel">Airtel</keyword> data bundle offer through which user of all Android one devices including Karbonn Sparkle V will get free software upgrades and app downloads per month up to six months. Under this scheme, there is a fair usage cap of 200 MB. 
 
 
Camera 
All the devices in the Android One series come with a 2MP front camera and 5MP rear camera. Though we could not take the device out to do some serious photography but from the looks of it the rear camera can click some decent shots under good lightening conditions. 
However, to click any pictures, you first need to add a microSD card, which we think is a little absurd. The camera should be in a position to save shots on internal storage as well or at least ask the user for his/her preference in regards to storing pictures. 
 
So far, we are mighty impressed for what this Karbonn smartphone under the Android One umbrella has to offer but we do have our reservations about the battery life. For that and more, don’t forget to come and read our review that we will posting shortly.
