Xstream offers a wide range of quality content for education and entertainment for kids. This includes TV shows, short films, movies, cartoons, documentaries, nursery rhymes and more. "We are launching a kids channel in our Xstream platform and opening it up to all our valued customers for free. We hope this provides some relief during these unprecedented times," Adarsh Nair, Chief Product Officer, Bharti Airtel said in a statement. Airtel Thanks customers can access Xstream on smartphones by downloading the Airtel Xstream app from Google Play and Apple app store, on TV through Airtel Xstream Hybrid STB, and on PC. It enables customers to access all this content across the screen of their choice – TV, PC, and Smartphone with a unified User Interface.

Airtel Xstream offers free unlimited access to premium kids content during the lockdown

New Delhi, Nov 20 () Telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Wednesday announced partnership with non-fiction video entertainment platform CuriosityStream to offer its content on both Xstream mobile app, web and TV platform.
 The service will be available to all Airtel prepaid customers subscribing to monthly plan of Rs 199, post paid customers above Rs 299 plan and broadband customers subscribing to monthly plan of Rs 1,099 and above, the company said in a statement.
 "Airtel Thanks Gold and Platinum customers will get complimentary access to exciting CuriosityStream content on the Airtel Xstream app and airtelxstream.com. The content will also be available on the Airtel Xstream Hybrid Box and Airtel Xstream Smart Stick," Bharti Airtel said. 
 Launched by Discovery Channel founder John Hendricks, CuriosityStream lets viewers explore across thousands of films and series covering space, art, volcanoes, history, travel, cars, architecture, dinosaurs and so much more.

The company on Tuesday (June 17) launched India’s first multiplex on the Partynite Metaverse platform. The 20-screen multiplex — which is a part of Airtel’s video app Xtream — will showcase content portfolios from leading over-the-top (OTT) platforms it has partnered with. A quick scan of the website reveals that Airtel Xstream offers content from OTT platforms like Amazon Prime, Sony Liv and Eros Now. The Xstream multiplex is an extension of Airtel’s Xstream Premium offering, which added two million subscribers within 100 days of its launch. “Airtel’s Xstream multiplex provides a larger-than-life experience, which brings together Web 3.0 apps and immersive storytelling, and an assortment of content from our partners. We all know people’s love for movies and entertainment in India. Through the metaverse, we are looking to tap into a larger audience, giving content enthusiasts an opportunity to sample Airtel’s Xstream Premium offering and, thus, aiding in driving higher adoption,” Shashwat Sharma, director of marketing at Airtel, said in a statement. Airtel’s latest metaverse multiplex will enable viewers to watch samples — such as the first episode or initial minutes — of top original shows and movies. These shows or movies will be in multiple regional languages, besides English and Hindi. Viewers can get complete access upon subscription of a plan, the company added. Airtel Xstream Premium’s multiplex experience is one of the most scalable use case scenarios for the metaverse and can be used for movies, music, live events and premium sports streaming in the future, Partynite’s founder Rajat Ojha said. “Apart from the robust scope, it will also allow social engagement, open up newer methods of content delivery and, of course, provide an immersive experience at the core of it,” he added. New Delhi, May 1 () Bharti Airtel's digital content platform Xstream has recorded a 50 per cent jump in streaming volume during the lockdown, the company said on Friday. While re-telecast of Ramayan is said to have broken records on Doordarshan, Airtel Xstream also noticed an increase in demand for retro content during the lockdown period."While overall streaming volumes have increased by 50 per cent on the app since the middle of March 2020, it is shows and movies from yesteryears that have seen the biggest surge in demand from users," Airtel said in a statement. The platform has registered an increase in the average session time and the number of daily sessions per user is also up by 40 per cent as people are spending more time inside homes."Cult TV shows like Malgudi Days, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Zabaan Sambhal Ke, Rajani and many more have witnessed 300 per cent surge in streaming volumes," the statement said. Bollywood Classics from Chaudhavin Ka Chand, Mother India, Don, Padosan, Andaz Apna Apna and Raja Babu have seen streaming volumes growth of 100 per cent underlining the strong demand of content from the decades gone by, it said.The company found that close to 80 per cent of the demand surge for retro content is driven by users from non-metros and smaller towns in states such UP, Bihar, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh which highlights the growing adoption of OTT in these markets as smartphones and 4G penetration increases."The current situation has made video entertainment an obvious and large use case. At the same time, it has given all of us more time and space to travel back in time and rekindle some fond memories as the situation also makes us emotional," Bharti Airtel chief product officer Adarsh Nair said. Airtel Xstream records 50% jump in streaming volume during lockdown

New Delhi, Apr 12 () Stressing that connectivity is absolutely essential amid the "growing uncertainty", Airtel said it has strengthened IVR systems to address most of subscribers' needs, and taken a slew of measures to ensure that customers and nation stay connected. In a note to its subscribers, Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal said that despite the challenges in fulfilment given the national lockdown, the company will do its best to arrange installations, at the earliest possible time, for those who need 1 Gbps Airtel Xstream Fiber. "We know how critical it is to have a consistent and seamless experience while working from home. If you would like to get 1 Gbps Airtel Xstream Fiber - please let us know here. While we are facing challenges in fulfilment given the national lock-down, we will arrange for installation as soon as we can," Vittal said. He said that the company is proud of its team which continues to be in the field, risking their safety, to make sure that customers and the nation stays connected. "Millions of livelihoods have been shattered and there is growing uncertainty. While we don't know how this will evolve, what we do know is that in this period, connectivity is absolutely essential," he said. The company is doing everything it can to fix problems that some people may be facing, he said. Outlining the measures that have been taken by the company, he said, "With our call centers running at reduced capacity, we have strengthened our IVR (Interactive Voice Response) to address a majority of use cases". "For example, you can now recharge and make payments through the IVR and even raise a network complaint," he said. All field employees are taking necessary precautions (masks, gloves, sanitizers) and maintaining the highest level of hygiene. He said that over the last year, the company has worked hard on improving video and voice app experiences, download speeds, as well as latency – all of which are vital to work from home. Airtel acquires strategic stake in Blockchain-tech startup Aqilliz

With an aim to build the world's largest customer data platform (CDP), Bharti <keyword id="15491" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="airtel" source="Orion">Airtel</keyword> on Tuesday said it has acquired a strategic stake in Lemnisk (Immensitas Private Limited) under its 'Start Up Accelerator Programme for an undisclosed sum. Bengaluru-based Lemnisk offers real-time marketing automation and secure CDP, capable of providing 1-to-1 personalisation and cross-channel customer journeys at a scale that increases conversions, retention, and growth for enterprises. "Lemnisk's real-time marketing automation engine is a natural fit for us, where over 350 million customers interact with brands daily through multiple touch points," said Adarsh Nair, CEO of Airtel <keyword id="50691" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="digital" source="Orion">Digital</keyword>. Airtel acquires strategic stake in Lemnisk to build largest customer data platform

New Delhi, Dec 10 () Telecom company Bharti Airtel on Tuesday launched voice over Wi-Fi service, and said the industry-first offering will "significantly enhance" indoor voice calling experience for smartphone customers at no extra charge.
'Airtel Wi-Fi Calling' enables Airtel smartphone customers to switch seamlessly from LTE (Long-Term Evolution) to Wi-Fi based calling when they are inside their homes/offices, the company said in a statement, adding that there will be no extra charge for voice calls made with the service.
The offering currently available in Delhi/NCR, and it will be rolled out across the country in coming days.
"With 'Airtel Wi-Fi Calling', customers with Wi-Fi at home or office will get excellent signal quality indoors. There will be no extra charge for calls made over 'Airtel Wi-Fi Calling' and the application consumes minimal data," the statement said.
Commenting on the development, Randeep Sekhon, Chief Technology Officer of Bharti Airtel said, "Seamless indoor coverage has been a key ask from mobile customers but getting permissions for site installations has always been a big challenge for mobile operators, particularly in top metros. 'Airtel Wi-Fi Calling'...will go a long way in making the voice calling experience more seamless".
The service will not require any app and can be configured on the smartphone. Users will need to check smartphone compatibility on airtel.in/wifi-calling, upgrade device operating software to the latest version that supports Wi-Fi Calling, and then go to settings and switch on Wi-Fi calling to get started.
The smartphones that currently support 'Airtel Wi-Fi Calling' include all iPhone series starting 6s and above, Xiaomi's Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro and POCO F1, Samsung's J6, A10s, On6, M30s, as well as all models of OnePlus 7 Series.
"Airtel is working with all leading smartphone brands to roll out compatibility with 'Airtel Wi-Fi Calling'," the company said.
The service is currently compatible with Airtel Xstream Fiber home broadband and will soon be compatible with all broadband services and Wi-Fi hotspots, it added. MBI BAL
