While <keyword id="15491" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Airtel">Airtel</keyword> consumers are still dealing with network issues, Airtel just announced ‘Project Next’ that includes a slew of initiatives targeted to make customer experience “simple, interactive and transparent”. 
 Ever since Reliance <keyword id="2003276" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jio">Jio</keyword>’s entry in the telecom space in India, there have been many changes in the way incumbent telecom operators have carried out their business. We saw what happened to the telecom tariff after Jio launched its commercial services in September last year. The impact seems to be still on. 
 
Airtel announced that it plans to invest up to Rs 2000 crores over the next 3 years under Project Next to launch several digital innovations to up the “simplicity and interactivity” of the Airtel customer experience. Airtel could be looking at it as an extension to the earlier announced Project Leap initiative wherein the company announced investment to build future ready network. 
 <keyword id="521074" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gopal-Vittal">Gopal Vittal</keyword>, MD &amp; CEO (India &amp; <keyword id="52011" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="South-Asia">South Asia</keyword>), <keyword id="6354287" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bharti-Airtel">Bharti Airtel</keyword> said, “At Airtel, everything that we do starts with our customers and we are obsessed about delivering a great experience to them. We look at the customer journey holistically and have identified 17 moments of truth. At each of these moments, our aspiration is to eliminate customer frustration and make the experience better via digital innovation." 
 
 
So Airtel says it has spent some time (“2450 hours” to be precise) observing customers and mapping traffic flows within its stores. One of the biggest announcements for Airtel consumers is Airtel’s “Data roll over promise” where consumers can carry forward their unused data from the previous month to the next billing cycle. This will allow consumers to get te best out of the data pack and will result in no data wastage. This is an industry frist move and can certainly benefit the consumers. Consumers can avail this new feature from 1st August, 2017. 
 
 
Apart from the data roll over plan, Airtel also announced redesigning of its over 2500 Airtel stores across India. Airtel says the new stores will be open and minimalistic by design, and will have digital technologies to make the customer experience highly interactive through the concept of Share, Create, Experience. As part of the project even the Airtel App will get a makeover. The new App is looking to provide real time experience from change of plans to real time notifications to fulfilment of services and self-care.

According to an exchange filing, with a growing number of customers transitioning to 5G, Airtel is reallocating its mid-band spectrum to expand 5G services across the 1800, 2100, and 2300 MHz bands nationwide. The re-farming of the mid-band spectrum aims to provide customers with enhanced <keyword id="726530" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="browsing-speeds" source="Orion">browsing speeds</keyword> and improved <keyword id="2551158" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="indoor-coverage" source="Orion">indoor coverage</keyword>. As data demand escalates, Airtel is accelerating its spectrum re-farming efforts to deliver an exceptional 5G experience to its users. Randeep Sekhon, CTO of Bharti Airtel, remarked, "As more customers pivot to our 5G services, we have re-farmed our mid-band spectrum which was being used for 4G services. With this, we are also ready to launch Stand-alone technology. This will mean that the <keyword id="2365216" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Airtel-network" source="Orion">Airtel network</keyword> will be the first network in India to run on both stand-alone and non-standalone modes allowing us to deliver the best experience in the market." Airtel has successfully piloted the switch between standalone mode (SA) and non-standalone mode (NSA) modes on its 5G network in select circles, including Rewari, Chennai, and Bhubaneswar, with encouraging results. This capability will enable Airtel to introduce new innovative applications, services, and solutions through open APIs, differentiated connectivity, and service-based architecture. In collaboration with smartphone Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Airtel will push NSA and SA combined binaries with carrier aggregation functionality, further enhancing the 5G experience. With an aim to build the world's largest customer data platform (CDP), Bharti <keyword id="15491" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="airtel" source="Orion">Airtel</keyword> on Tuesday said it has acquired a strategic stake in Lemnisk (Immensitas Private Limited) under its 'Start Up Accelerator Programme for an undisclosed sum. Bengaluru-based Lemnisk offers real-time marketing automation and secure CDP, capable of providing 1-to-1 personalisation and cross-channel customer journeys at a scale that increases conversions, retention, and growth for enterprises. "Lemnisk's real-time marketing automation engine is a natural fit for us, where over 350 million customers interact with brands daily through multiple touch points," said Adarsh Nair, CEO of Airtel <keyword id="50691" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="digital" source="Orion">Digital</keyword>. They will work together to build the world's largest CDP platform across Airtel's digital businesses including ad tech (Airtel Ads), digital entertainment (Wynk Music and Airtel Xstream) and digital marketplace (Airtel Thanks App). Airtel acquires strategic stake in Lemnisk to build largest customer data platform

Bharti <keyword id="15491" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="airtel" source="Orion">Airtel</keyword> on Thursday announced that it has acquired a strategic stake in Singapore-based Blockchain platform <keyword id="13145718" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="aqilliz" source="Orion">Aqilliz</keyword> for an undisclosed sum. Airtel aims to deploy Aqilliz's Blockchain technologies at scale across its fast growing adtech (Airtel Ads), digital entertainment (Wynk Music &amp; Airtel Xstream) and digital marketplace (Airtel Thanks App) offerings. "Blockchain technology is maturing and we see its application across areas such as Adtech, Creator Economy, and Loyalty Programmes," said Adarsh Nair, CEO, Airtel Digital. Aqilliz has developed a patented hybrid blockchain platform called ‘Atom' that integrates differential privacy and federated learning on a distributed digital ledger. This allows brands to create secure and consent-based solutions to engage with customers in a rapidly-evolving digital economy that's becoming increasingly decentralised. The company on Tuesday (June 17) launched India’s first multiplex on the Partynite Metaverse platform. The 20-screen multiplex — which is a part of Airtel’s video app Xtream — will showcase content portfolios from leading over-the-top (OTT) platforms it has partnered with. A quick scan of the website reveals that Airtel Xstream offers content from OTT platforms like Amazon Prime, Sony Liv and Eros Now. The Xstream multiplex is an extension of Airtel’s Xstream Premium offering, which added two million subscribers within 100 days of its launch. “Airtel’s Xstream multiplex provides a larger-than-life experience, which brings together Web 3.0 apps and immersive storytelling, and an assortment of content from our partners. We all know people’s love for movies and entertainment in India. Through the metaverse, we are looking to tap into a larger audience, giving content enthusiasts an opportunity to sample Airtel’s Xstream Premium offering and, thus, aiding in driving higher adoption,” Shashwat Sharma, director of marketing at Airtel, said in a statement. Airtel’s latest metaverse multiplex will enable viewers to watch samples — such as the first episode or initial minutes — of top original shows and movies. These shows or movies will be in multiple regional languages, besides English and Hindi. Viewers can get complete access upon subscription of a plan, the company added. Airtel Xstream Premium’s multiplex experience is one of the most scalable use case scenarios for the metaverse and can be used for movies, music, live events and premium sports streaming in the future, Partynite’s founder Rajat Ojha said. “Apart from the robust scope, it will also allow social engagement, open up newer methods of content delivery and, of course, provide an immersive experience at the core of it,” he added. Airtel is a global communications solutions provider with over 490 million customers across 17 countries across South Asia and Africa.
