It’s the last day to register for counselling at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, India’s most prestigious institution for medicine. The registrations for the AIIMS MBBS Open Counselling will close today at 5 pm. The open counselling session is to fill up seats that were vacant after the third round of counselling and voluntary withdrawals. And the counselling will be held on 20 August 2019 at 8:30 am at the J.L. Auditorium, AIIMS, New Delhi. Document checklist for open counselling: <ul><li>The candidates will have to show their registration slip at the time of counselling. </li><li>Admit Card of the entrance exam </li><li>Educational marksheets — class 10th and 12th </li><li>If the candidate belongs to the reserved category — SC/ST/OBC — he will have to show proof </li><li>Self attested photocopies of the certificates, along with original copies.</li></ul>In case the student is not able to provide the original certificates, a DD(Demand Draft) of ₹100,000 is to be submitted. It has also rescheduled the counseling dates for the upcoming academic session. The counseling will now take place on 26-27 August 2019, according to the official notice. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is now inviting applications for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020. This year onwards, NEET will be the only entrance examination for applying to all the undergraduate courses in medicine — including All India Institute for Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) and other private colleges. <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/education/news/neet-2020-application-registration-process-to-begin-today-at-ntaneet-nic-in-check-important-points-here/articleshow/72325284.cms">According to</a> TOI, this year the agency has added a security feature to the examination — it will use artificial intelligence to crack down on any suspicious cases of blurred or similar-looking photographs. The NTA will release the application forms today i.e December 2, 2019 on its official website at ntaneet.nic.in at 4 pm. The last date to register is December 31. The entrance examination for all the MBBS and dental course seats will be held on May 3, 2020 and the regulatory body will roll out the admit cards on March 27. The results are expected to be declared on June 4. The test will comprise of a total of 180 questions from three sections — Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The candidates will have to upload both passport-size and postcard size photographs along with the online application. The application fee for candidates from the general category is ₹1,500 and ₹1,400 for the EWS/OBC category. And for the transgender and SC/ST candidates, the application fee is at ₹800. The application procedure will be updated as the registration opens.

In addition to this, the NEET Super Speciality exam will also be mandatory to study Master of Surgery (Mch). The draft NMC Bill was tabled in the Parliament in 2017. It focussed at introducing a ‘bridge course’ that will enable medical practitioners of alternative medicine to pursue allopathy. However, it faced criticism from medical professionals and health associations in India. The bill was later revised with several amendments including aggressive punishments for unauthorised practice of medicine — a year long imprisonment or a fine of up to ₹500,000. However, to address the shortage of medical professionals, the government has <a href="https://indianexpress.com/article/education/4800-mbbs-seats-reserved-for-economically-weaker-students-5826733/">allocated 26% more seats</a> for MBBS aspirants in the last two years — reserving nearly 5,000 seats for economically weaker sections. India’s most prestigious institution for medicine All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is expected to announce the results of <keyword id="8164002" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="AIIMS-PG-2020">AIIMS PG 2020</keyword> entrance exam on Saturday, i.e November 22, 2019. The entrance exam was held on November 17 for MD, MS, MDS, DM, MCh. And the minimum cut off score was 50 percentile.
