Garuda Aerospace drones are delivering food and medicine in flood-hit Assam

<ul><li><keyword id="6354787" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="dgca" source="Orion">DGCA</keyword> has issued the <keyword id="973758" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="type-certification" source="Orion">Type Certification</keyword> for the Kisan or farmer drones made by <keyword id="4610420" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="garuda-aerospace" source="Orion">Garuda Aerospace</keyword>.</li><li>Garuda Aerospace also said it has an order book of 5,000 drones.</li></ul>The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued the Type Certification for the Kisan or farmer drones made by Garuda Aerospace, the company said. Garuda Aerospace also said it has an order book of 5,000 drones. According to Garuda Aerospace, the DGC Type Certification is provided on the basis of the quality check of the drones and is issued after a rigorous testing process for the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The Type certification was introduced by the Indian government in August 2021 under Drone Rules. Following the Type Certification for the GA-AG model, Garuda Kisan Drone - priced at Rs.4.50 lakh- is now eligible for Rs.10 lakh unsecured loan from Agri Infrastructure Fund at five per cent and 50-100 per cent subsidy from the Government of India. "We are powered and blessed with strong demands of manufacturing 5,000 drones in the next five months catering to many opportunities. DGCA approves Garuda Aerospace's Kisan drone

Drone-as-a-Service (DaaS) player <keyword id="4610420" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="garuda-aerospace" source="Orion">Garuda Aerospace</keyword> on Monday said it has raised $22 million as Series A funding. According to Garuda Aerospace, the funding round was led by <keyword id="6357097" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="venture-capital" source="Orion">Venture Capital</keyword> firm <keyword id="15395438" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="sphiticap" source="Orion">SphitiCap</keyword> which invested $12 million along with participation from other global investors, angel investors and high net worth individuals (<keyword id="50379" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hni" source="Orion">HNI</keyword>) at $5 million. Another $5 million in funding from an infra-development company, a group of HNIs and angel investors from <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>, <keyword id="6358356" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="uae" source="Orion">UAE</keyword> and Singapore was secured by the startup earlier. The company will use the funds raised for scaling up and research and development for building advanced drone solutions for the armed forces in collaboration with global companies for the defence and aerospace sector. The funds will also be used for the skilling and training of drone pilots and help create employment with deepening its footprints in <keyword id="142845" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tier-ii" source="Orion">Tier II</keyword> and III cities. Garuda Aerospace, which produces small and medium category drones, had partnered with Greek manufacturer Spirit Aeronautical Systems early this year.
