This takes Garuda <keyword id="84758" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="aerospace" source="Orion">Aerospace</keyword>'s order book tally to 10,000 drones for this year within the first three months, it said in a statement. "The collaboration between Garuda Aerospace and IFFCO aims to revolutionise the agricultural sector by introducing the Garuda Kisan Drone at the 'IFFCO Drone Yatra' in Karnataka. These state-of-the-art drones will enable farmers to utilise Nano Urea spraying through Precision Agriculture Drones, maximising their efficiency and productivity," it said. According to the statement, IFFCO has launched a nationwide campaign to procure 2,500 'Kisan Drones' as spray solutions for their products -- Nano Urea and Nano DAP. This initiative not only supports the development of around 5,000 rural entrepreneurs trained in drone spraying but also promotes sustainable agriculture and holistic cooperative development, it said.

Garuda Aerospace also said it has an order book of 5,000 drones. According to Garuda Aerospace, the DGC Type Certification is provided on the basis of the quality check of the drones and is issued after a rigorous testing process for the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The Type certification was introduced by the Indian government in August 2021 under Drone Rules. Following the Type Certification for the GA-AG model, Garuda Kisan Drone - priced at Rs.4.50 lakh- is now eligible for Rs.10 lakh unsecured loan from Agri Infrastructure Fund at five per cent and 50-100 per cent subsidy from the Government of India. MS Dhoni-backed drone firm Garuda Aerospace launches farmers-focused film

Garuda Aerospace drones are delivering food and medicine in flood-hit Assam

Skyroot Aerospace's rocket Vikram-S with three small satellites is scheduled for launch on November 18 at 11.30 a.m. "Launch is likely on 18th as the weather is predicted to be ideal. Due to inclement weather, we got an updated launch window of November 15-19, 2022," Chandana said. According to him, the Vikram-S rocket is a scaled down version of Vikram-1 rocket. The former is a single stage rocket whereas the latter is a multi-stage vehicle. "Almost all our systems flying in Vikram-S were designed in-house, except for few sensors which were imported," Chandana said. The rocket will be powered by a single stage to help test and validate the majority of the technologies in the <keyword id="1091" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="vikram" source="Orion">Vikram</keyword> series of rockets. "This is for regular people," CEO Sarah "Sassie" Duggleby told <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-05-28/space-plane-startup-promises-one-hour-rides-to-anywhere-on-earth">Bloomberg Businessweek</a>.At top speed, the aircraft would be moving about 12 times the speed of sound, <a href="https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/space/article/Houston-startup-designing-spaceplane-that-could-16012453.php">The Houston Chronicle</a> reported. Most commercial flights between Los Angeles and Tokyo make the trip in about 12 hours. The company said on <a href="https://www.venusaero.com/">its website</a> that it's made breakthroughs in engine efficiency, aircraft shape, and edge cooling technology. That tech would make "one-hour global transport cost-effective," the company said. Venus Aerospace in early March announced a $3 million seed fundraising round led by Prime Movers Lab. "This futuristic concept that was once a dream is now reality, and watching it physically unfold with a team of talented scientists and engineers is just incredible," Duggleby said in <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/venus-aerospace-closes-on-3-million-in-seed-funding-301239617.html">a press statement</a> at the time. As part of its plan to launch its rocket from foreign rocket ports, Chennai-based small rocket-maker <keyword id="7122982" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="agnikul-cosmos">Agnikul Cosmos</keyword> Private Ltd on Wednesday said that it has signed an agreement with the <keyword id="10026792" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="alaska-aerospace">Alaska Aerospace</keyword> Corporation. In a tweet, Agnikul Cosmos said: "It's exactly 1 year since we presented our #MadeInIndia solution to honourable PM Shri @narendramodi ji. Today, humbled to take our homegrown product further as a global solution to customers across the world. Thank you, Alaska Aerospace." As per the agreement, Agnikul Cosmos will test-launch its 'Agnibaan' rocket from Alaska Aerospace's Pacific Spaceport Complex Alaskar on Kodiak Island in the US. Agnikul Cosmos, which is developing a small rocket with a capacity to carry 100 kg satellite into low earth orbit, said that the ability to launch from high latitude launch ports is a significant advantage. "Our first preference is to use Indian rocket ports at Sriharikota or the upcoming one at Kulasekarapattinam in Tamil Nadu (both belonging to the Indian Space Research Organisation). If the customer prefers the launch to happen from some other country, we will ship the rocket and launch from there," Srinath Ravichandran, co-founder and CEO Agnikul Cosmos had told IANS earlier. In July 2020, Agnikul signed an MoU with Italian company Leaf Space for ground station services. Ravichandran had said the company has signed up with a launch port in south Australia and is exploring four to five launch ports across the world. The company is hopeful of signing a satellite launch contract in 2021 and the debut launch of its 'Agnibaan' rocket is planned for 2022. Agnikul Cosmos signs up with US-based Alaska Aerospace to test rocket

The course will be available online from 29 July. Launched by the Indian government, Swayam provides open online courses with teaching and learning resources to its citizens. “ISRO will go ‘back to the moon’ today. Learn Aerospace Engineering with Swayam, who knows, if you are a part of the journey the next time,” the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry said in a tweet.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur will conduct a three month long ‘Aircraft stability and control’ course and ‘Design of fixed wing unmanned aerial vehicles’ course for two months, under the initiative. It will also conduct ‘Introduction to rocket propulsion’ course for three months. In the aerospace domain, IIT Bombay will also launch a three month long course on ‘Introduction to aerospace engineering/flight’ imparting the basics of aerospace engineering. ‘Vibration and structural dynamics’ course will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur. The demand for Aerospace engineers has been on the rise, globally. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the sector will create jobs at a rate of 6% by 2026. Indian government launches online aerospace engineering course for those who aspire to reach the moon

<keyword id="7537495" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="skyroot-aerospace" source="Orion">Skyroot Aerospace</keyword>, which successfully launched the country's first private rocket Vikram-S recently, plans to launch Vikram-1, a much bigger rocket to place satellites into orbit, within a year. The Hyderabad-based space startup also aims to slash the costs of space travel in the future. "..now that we have done the first private rocket launch, Vikram-S, our next plan is to launch Vikram-1 which is a much bigger rocket putting satellites into orbit. That we want to do within a year from now," Pawan Chandana, co-founder of <keyword id="9750118" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="skyroot" source="Orion">Skyroot</keyword>, told PTI here Monday evening. Skyroot also wants to become one of the first few companies in the world that can place satellites into orbit. He said the firm has raised about USD 68 million, which is the largest in the aerospace startup ecosystem in India. "Of course, it took close to four years to raise this kind of capital. Now, we are good for the first few launches to orbit and then, of course, it has been very challenging because first time somebody went to the market and raised such large capital," Chandana said. Skyroot would keep on raising more capital in its journey forward and would like to generate a good amount of revenue as it starts launching next year, he said. Noting that space travel is expensive now, he said his firm aims to slash costs, make it affordable and increase reliability. "Today, the biggest problem is that space travel is very costly. Because, rockets, the only way to go to space are very unreliable. Sometimes, they don't work and are also very expensive. They fall into the sea and then you are building something, throwing it away. It's very costly," he said.
