India is looking to buy 15% of the aircraft in a fly-away state and to produce the other 85% in India under the Make in India program.</p><p>The first aircraft would need to arrive within three years of signing the contract, which could be worth up to $15 billion and be the world's largest fighter aircraft deal, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-04-06/india-seeks-to-buy-110-locally-manufactured-fighter-aircraft" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to Bloomberg.</p><p>Vendors have until July 6 to submit responses to the RFI, and the Indian air force wants to issue a formal request for proposals within six to 12 months of getting those responses, <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/20-billion-defence-project-india-kicks-off-process-to-procure-110-fighter-jets-for-iaf/articleshow/63646424.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the Times of India.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Wikimedia Commons</span></p><p class="caption">Indian Air Force MiG-27.</p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>For the past several years, India has been looking to upgrade and modernize its armed forces, partly in response to what it sees as growing risks posed by neighbors Pakistan and China. New Delhi is already looking to increase its maritime capabilities by <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/india-to-buy-submarines-amid-china-naval-activity-in-the-indian-ocean-2017-7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquiring more submarines</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/india-china-more-us-made-sub-hunting-planes-2018-1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">advanced sub-hunting patrol planes</a>.</p><p>Ten existing squadrons of India's Russia-made MiG-21 and MiG-27 fighters are scheduled for <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/20-billion-defence-project-india-kicks-off-process-to-procure-110-fighter-jets-for-iaf/articleshow/63646424.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">retirement by 2022</a>, and the country's air force and navy need to acquire <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-04-06/india-seeks-to-buy-110-locally-manufactured-fighter-aircraft" target="_blank" rel="noopener">up to 400</a> single- and double-engine aircraft, the government has said.</p><p>The air force wants to accelerate acquisition in order to build up its fighter squadrons, of which <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/20-billion-defence-project-india-kicks-off-process-to-procure-110-fighter-jets-for-iaf/articleshow/63646424.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">it now has 31</a>, each with 18 planes. It sees 42 or more squadrons as necessary to fight a two-front war.</p><p>India began looking for new fighters in 2007. That search led to the Indian government picking Dassault Aviation to supply <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-04-06/india-seeks-to-buy-110-locally-manufactured-fighter-aircraft" target="_blank" rel="noopener">126 Rafale jets</a> for $11 billion. But that deal stalled and was cancelled in 2015. The Indian government instead elected to import 36 Rafale jets, which <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/20-billion-defence-project-india-kicks-off-process-to-procure-110-fighter-jets-for-iaf/articleshow/63646424.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">will arrive</a> between 2019 and 2022.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Thomson Reuters</span></p><p class="caption">Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the inauguration ceremony for "Make In India" week in Mumbai, February 13, 2016.</p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>The latest request for information is a revision of an earlier request that the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the air force to expand in order to include twin-engine aircraft and attracted high-profile weapons manufacturers, Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-02-23/india-is-said-to-mull-expanding-scope-of-fighter-aircraft-order" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> in February.</p><p>India has had contentious relations with China, particularly along the two countries' shared border.</p><p>Disputes there have led to conflicts in the past, and in summer 2017 New Delhi and Beijing clashed in a months-long standoff around an area called the Doklam, or Donglang, near China's and India's borders with Bhutan.</p><p>That showdown eased in late August, but both sides still have military personnel stationed there. In the months since, India has <a href="http://www.scmp.com/news/china/diplomacy-defence/article/2134346/china-boosts-air-defences-western-region-indian-border" target="_blank" rel="noopener">deployed</a> Su-30 MKI combat aircraft to airbases in the region. In February, China <a href="http://www.newsweek.com/china-shows-air-force-direct-challenge-india-military-power-asia-814896" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sent</a> J-10 and J-11 fighters to Tibet, which borders India, after exercises that Chinese commentators <a href="http://www.newsweek.com/china-shows-air-force-direct-challenge-india-military-power-asia-814896" target="_blank" rel="noopener">linked</a> to the recent tensions.</p><p>The aircraft deployed to Tibet were less advanced than the aircraft China has sent on patrols over the South China Sea, indicating China's priorities.</p><p>"Sending these jets to different theatre commands shows that the major focus of China's military is still the east, with the United States being the main rival. The threat from India comes second in China's military priority," Ni Lexiong, a Shanghai-based military expert, <a href="http://www.scmp.com/news/china/diplomacy-defence/article/2134346/china-boosts-air-defences-western-region-indian-border" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told South China Morning Post</a>. India is beefing up its military as tensions rise with China and Pakistan - and now it wants to buy more than 100 fighter jets

After Go First filed for bankruptcy blaming jet engine maker Pratt &amp; Whitney (P&amp;W) for grounding half of its fleet, the US aerospace major hit back stating that the budget airline has a "lengthy history of missing its financial obligations."<br /><br />A source at P&amp;W told that the budget airline has a lengthy history of missing its financial obligations to Pratt &amp; Whitney.<br /><br />In a statement the US engine maker said it was "committed to the success of our airline customers, and we continue to prioritise delivery schedules for all customers. P&amp;W is complying with the March 2023 arbitration ruling related to Go First. As this is now a matter of litigation, we will not comment further." <br /><br />On Tuesday, Go First Airlines said that due to the non-supply of engines by Pratt &amp; Whitney operations will remain cancelled.<br /><br />"Go First is facing financial crunch due to non-supply of engines by US-based jet engines manufacturer Pratt and Whitney (P&amp;W) that has forced grounding more than 50 planes," a Go First official told ANI.<br /><br />Amid the confusion, passengers who booked their tickets with the airlines were left in the lurch. Go First Airlines announced that its flight operations will remain cancelled from May 3 to May 5 adding that a full refund will be issued to the passengers.<br /><br />The official media account of Go First Airlines took to Twitter and said, "Due to operational reasons, GoFirst flights for 3rd, 4th and 5th May 2023 have been cancelled. We sincerely apologise to our loyal customers. We assure you that we will be back with more information soon. A full refund will be issued through the original mode of payment shortly".<br /><br />Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the Government of India has been assisting Go First Airlines in every possible manner but it is incumbent upon the airline to make alternative travel arrangements for passengers so that they do not face inconvenience.<br /><br />On Tuesday, India's aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued a show cause notice to India's low-cost carrier Go First Airlines for not providing prior intimation of the cancellation of flights on May 3 and May 4 to DGCA.<br /><br />"It has come to the notice of DGCA that Go First has cancelled all scheduled flights of 3rd May and 4th May 2023, respectively. No prior intimation has been given to DGCA for such cancellations which is non-compliance with conditions for approval of schedule," an official statement issued by DGCA said.<br /><br />DGCA has sought a reply from Go First Airlines within 24 hours of the issuance of the show cause notice. In this regard, Go First Airlines said that due to the non-supply of engines by the US-based Jet engines manufacturer, operations will remain cancelled. <br /><br />In a statement released on Tuesday, Go First had filed an application with the National Company Law Tribunal in New Delhi.<br /><br />In the statement, the budget airline said, "GO FIRST has had to take this step due to the ever-increasing number of failing engines supplied by Pratt &amp; Whitney's International Aero Engines, LLC, which has resulted in GO FIRST having to ground 25 aircraft (equivalent to approximately 50 per cent of its Airbus A320neo aircraft fleet) as of 1 May 2023."<br /><br />The airline said the percentage of grounded aircraft due to Pratt &amp; Whitney's faulty engines grew from 7 per cent in December 2019 to 31 per cent in December 2020 to 50 per cent in December 2022. New Delhi, Dec 23 () Bengaluru-based Prestige Estates Projects Ltd's board has approved issuing 1.34 crore equity shares to Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC on preferential basis for Rs 434 crore.
<p> GIC held 4.36 per cent stake in the company as on September 30, 2019.
</p><p> The company's board has approved "issue and allotment of 1,34,41,654 equity shares at a price not less than floor price of Rs 323.22" on preferential basis to GAMNAT Pte Ltd, which is an affiliate of GIC, according to a regulatory filing by Prestige Estates.
</p><p> Shares of the company fell 0.65 per cent to Rs 345.20 apiece on Monday.</p><p> 
</p><p> Prestige Estates will take shareholders' approval before allotting these shares to GAMNAT.
</p><p> In its 32 years of operations, Prestige Group has completed 236 real estate projects, comprising nearly 125 million sq ft of developable area, mostly in south India.
</p><p> Prestige Estates is also foraying into the Delhi-NCR market and has tied up with local developer Ace Group to launch its first housing project in Noida with an investment of around Rs 500 crore on construction.
</p><p> It has also announced a joint venture with DB Group to develop a large hotel and convention centre project at Aero City in the national capital with an investment of Rs 2,000 crore.
</p><p> GIC has been investing heavily in Indian real estate market.

The Indian Air Force (IAF), civil administration authorities and the Indian Army are carrying out a massive rescue operation at Tato in <keyword id="46408" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Arunachal-Pradesh">Arunachal Pradesh</keyword>, after an AN-32 aircraft crashed. The aircraft went on a mission on June 3 with 13 people on board. The IAF found the wreckage of the plane on June 11, and is now searching for the survivors. <br /><br /><br />This year has been bad for IAF aircraft, and has been replete with crashes. <br /><br /><strong>The Jaguar crash </strong><br /><br /><div type="image" title="300px-Jaguar_DF-SD-05-05511" tempid="135948" msid="69758505" hostid="261"></div>
