Sexual closeness is the most likely route of transmission in 95 per cent of <keyword id="7616951" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Monkeypox" source="Orion">monkeypox</keyword> cases, according to a global case study series from across 16 countries.<br /><br />However, the virus can be transmitted by any close physical contact through large respiratory droplets and potentially through clothing and other surfaces, said researchers at <keyword id="1828955" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="queen-mary-university-of-london" source="Orion">Queen Mary University of London</keyword>.<br /><br />In the study, the team reported 528 infections diagnosed between April 27 and June 24, 2022, at 43 sites in 16 countries.<br /><br />The findings, published in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), showed 95 per cent of the persons presented with a rash (with 64 per cent having less than 10 lesions), 73 per cent had anogenital lesions, and 41 per cent had mucosal lesions (with 54 having a single genital lesion).<br /><br />Overall, 98 per cent of the persons with <keyword id="6393040" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Infection" source="Orion">infection</keyword> were gay or bisexual men, 75 per cent were white, and 41 per cent had human immunodeficiency virus infection.<br /><br />Common systemic features preceding the rash included fever (62 per cent), lethargy (41 per cent), myalgia (31 per cent), and headache (27 per cent); lymphadenopathy -- swelling of lymph nodes -- was also common (reported in 56 per cent). Concomitant sexually transmitted infections were reported in 109 of 377 persons (29 per cent) who were tested.<br /><br />Among the 23 persons with a clear exposure history, the median incubation period was 7 days. Monkeypox virus DNA was detected in 29 of the 32 persons in whom seminal fluid was analysed.<br /><br />In addition, the study also identified new clinical presentations in people with monkeypox, not recognised in current medical definitions of monkeypox.<br /><br />These symptoms include single genital lesions and sores on the mouth or anus. The clinical symptoms are similar to those of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as syphilis or herpes and can easily lead to misdiagnosis.<br /><br />In some people, anal and oral symptoms have led to people being admitted to hospital for management of pain and difficulties swallowing. It's important that these new clinical symptoms be recognised and healthcare professionals be educated on how to identify and manage the disease - misdiagnosis can slow detection and thus hinder efforts to control the spread of the virus, the team said.<br /><br />"We have shown that the current international case definitions need to be expanded to add symptoms that are not currently included, such as sores in the mouth, on the anal mucosa and single ulcers. These particular symptoms can be severe and have led to hospital admissions so it is important to make a diagnosis," said <keyword id="14521849" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="chloe-orkin" source="Orion">Chloe Orkin</keyword>, Professor of HIV Medicine at QMUL.<br /><br />"We have also found monkeypox virus in a large proportion of the semen samples tested from people with monkeypox. However, this may be incidental as we do not know that it is present at a high enough levels to facilitate sexual transmission. Those who clear India's Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) may get a shot at UK's Queen's University

On this fall day in Manhattan, the 40-year-old CEO of Peek, an activities-booking company, looks chic and comfortable in black trousers and a wool turtleneck. She's offered to make tea, and when I tell her I like fruity and black, she seems enthusiastic about the challenge. She's sorting through stacks of tins like it's the most important thing she'll do all day.</p><p>While she's distracted, I take in her SoHo apartment. A large white sectional wraps around a coffee table laden with candles, fresh roses and ranunculus, and books on Andy Warhol, Picasso, and the Byzantine empire. In a sun-drenched corner, an ecstatic fiddle-leaf fig reaches toward the 13-foot ceiling. Below it, a dining table has two laptops and a stack of notebooks at one end.</p><p>A minute later Bashir retrieves a container of Mariage Frères loose-leaf tea with blue-cornflower petals, sniffs it, and places it on the counter, satisfied.</p><p>Being a host is kind of like being a CEO, she says, drawing hot water from an espresso machine. She feels responsible, in both her personal and professional life, for bringing out the best in people, plying them with the right role or the right loose leaf. "Part of your job is to help people find the seat they should be in," she says.</p><p>I'm at Bashir's home in part to talk about her company, which, despite my eight years of reporting on startups, I had to Google. Though its name barely registers with laypeople, Peek, which started as a kind of OpenTable for travelers and pivoted to providing software to tour companies and operators, is now basically the Salesforce of tourism.</p><p>Each year, about $1 billion worth of ticket sales — a seaplane tour over the Golden Gate Bridge, a visit to the Museum of Ice Cream, a swim with pigs in the Bahamas — goes through the company's platform. This past spring, the venture-capital powerhouse Andreessen Horowitz declared Peek the 14th-largest virtual marketplace for goods and services in the United States. The company has raised $120 million from the likes of Jack Dorsey, Eric Schmidt, and Goldman Sachs. All of which makes Peek's (and Bashir's) near-anonymity more remarkable. In an industry where success is often measured by how much noise a startup makes, Peek has proved it doesn't need the limelight to commandeer an industry.</p><div type="image" title="Ruzwana Bashir" height="1173" width="2798" msid="105263408" hostid="261"></div><p>Even so, I feel dazzled being with Bashir, not least because her apartment has enough fine art to charge admission. She speaks in a lilting British accent and has wide silver-green eyes like eucalyptus leaves. She's a careful listener, leaning in when I offer my observations on the new status shoe for techies (Allbirds are out, Hokas are in. Though Bashir seems to prefer Chloé's Nama sneakers.)</p><p>Like her company, Bashir isn't a household name; rather, knowledge of her is passed around in the types of circles that would make the illuminati jealous. She's a conduit for ideas and connection, hobnobbing with tech gods and artificial-intelligence researchers, as well as fashion icons, Hollywood directors, economists, and media moguls. She's played Connect Four with Elon Musk, brunched at Balthazar with the investigative journalist Ronan Farrow, and posed for the September issue of Vogue.</p><p>She references her network throughout our two-hour conversation. For three years she's been learning to invest from Roelof Botha, a senior steward of Sequoia Capital's brand and operations. "Mustafa Suleyman sat here," she says at one point, patting the Google DeepMind cofounder's preferred couch cushion, "and we've had conversations about what's going to happen with AI but also what's going to happen in the world."</p><p>Bennett Miller, a close friend of Bashir's known for directing films like "Moneyball" and "Capote," says they often watch movies together. In describing Bashir, he references a bit in "The Big Lebowski" in which The Dude bemoans the destruction of an area rug. "There's a line about the rug — how it really tied the room together," Miller says. "Ruzwana is that rug."</p><p>I can feel Bashir's penchant for forging connections as she focuses in on me, making me feel like the most important person — and the most discerning tea drinker — alive. ("If it's not strong enough, let me know," she says of the tea. "I can add some more.") She doesn't just host, doesn't just lead; she creates little universes where nothing existed before.</p><p class="drop-cap">Bashir has built a career connecting people to new experiences. She grew up in a Muslim household in northern England, where she wore a shalwar kameez and a head scarf every day. Her parents didn't read or write in English, and her father sold produce to provide for his wife and their three children.</p><p>After high school, Bashir attended Oxford University and became president of the Oxford Union, the famed debate society, where she welcomed speakers such as Madeleine Albright and Tom Ford. Her love of travel bloomed in school. Jared Cohen, a partner at Goldman Sachs and a college friend, recalls studying for exams with Bashir at an Egyptian resort they booked on a budget travel website. Her idea of a study break: waking up early to drive across Israel and visit the ancient city of Petra.</p><p>Bashir jumped to Goldman Sachs and then to the Blackstone Group, but in 2011, while studying at Harvard Business School, she caught the entrepreneurial bug.</p><p>The idea for Peek came to her after she spent 20-plus hours looking up things to do on a birthday trip to Istanbul. There had to be a better way to book activities online, she thought. And so, with the help of an engineering virtuoso named Oskar Bruening, she built one. They launched Peek in the fall of 2012.</p><p>Suddenly, Peek was just about everywhere (though not for those of us who were broke college students at the time). So was Bashir: on Forbes' "30 Under 30" list alongside Mark Zuckerberg; in billboard ads for the luggage brand Tumi; in Elle, where she was described as "one of the hardest-working (and chicest) women in tech." It was the age of the Ubers, the Airbnbs, the WeWorks — a moment when "disruptors" were treated with near-total credulity. "This idea of software eating the world was just starting," Bashir says. "It was a moment where people suddenly realized this incredible value creation happening in tech."</p>          <p>The cult of personality that rose up around Bashir wasn't unusual; founders like Travis Kalanick and Adam Neumann were just as inextricable from their brands. But the line can be blurrier for women, especially if they lead consumer companies, which rely on branding to set themselves apart. Ty Haney's bubbly personality helped position Outdoor Voices as the cool-girl queen of the activewear market. Emily Weiss amassed legions of fans through her beauty blog and online presence before launching Glossier.</p><p>"Part of building a business was going out and sharing what you were doing with the world," Bashir says. But she says she didn't think much about how her personality melded with her brand.<strong> </strong>"The only thing that I've always tried to be is authentically myself," she says. "Sometimes that means that you're not fitting into people's stereotypes or the box that they're expecting. And that's OK. Hopefully, we're finding ways to expand that box."</p><div type="image" title="Ruzwana Bashir" height="5769" width="4480" msid="105263678" hostid="261"></div><p class="drop-cap">At first, Bashir's team at Peek focused on bringing experiences directly to people. But they soon learned where the real potential lay. "There's an opportunity to help people book experiences, but in some ways it's quite a narrow one," Bashir tells me. "The bigger opportunity is to unlock everything and bring it all online."</p><p>In 2013, Peek started putting resources into software to allow travel companies to enable purchases on their own websites and track their reservations — a move that turned out to be the company's saving grace. In 2016, Peek capped <a target="_blank" href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2016/07/28/travel-site-peek-raises-10-million/87647754/">hundreds of millions</a> of dollars in annual bookings and opened a second office in Utah. By 2019, downloads of the Peek app, which had spiked at more than 30,000 in December 2013, had dwindled to a few dozen, according to the analytics company Data.ai.</p><p>But even as downloads cratered, bookings were mounting. By then, Peek had gone all in on its software sales. "As a startup you have to be extremely intentional about where you put your resources," Bashir says. "When you're seeing success you have to back that horse."<strong> </strong>Bashir refashioned her startup to meet the needs of an industry that still operated using pen and paper and, in doing so, earned a second shot at overseeing a business worth billions.</p>          <p>Just as Peek got back on its feet, COVID-19 knocked it all the way down. People were terrified and trapped in their houses, and travel bookings fell to nearly zero overnight.</p><p>On March 13, 2020, President Donald Trump declared a national emergency, and Bashir caught a flight to Salt Lake City. She and Bruening were on their way to Utah to lay off almost a third of their staff in person. They hoped such a drastic step would get them to the other side of lockdown. "That's the hard part of being a founder," Bashir says. "You have to make tough decisions and then also live with the consequences."</p><p>To the delight of investors, Peek rebounded with dizzying speed. During the pandemic, digitization flourished as much of the world moved online. Suddenly a small-business owner with a zip-line park in Costa Rica or a pub-crawl party bike in Atlanta needed software to help them market, process sales, schedule guides, and send emails. For years Bashir's startup had been building muscle around these capabilities; now it had an eager audience.</p><p>In 2021, Peek crossed $2 billion in all-time bookings from some 35 million customers. It also landed $80 million in Series C funding from investors including the former Airbnb chief financial officer Laurence Tosi's firm, WestCap. Those who know Bashir say things wouldn't have turned out any other way. "She's not a despairing person," Miller says. "There's a determination there that I would bet on 10 out of 10 times."</p><p class="drop-cap">"I need wind," Bashir says as a canvas parachute whips around her.</p><p>She's standing on the set of her photo shoot at Chelsea's Pier59 Studios in a black bustier dress, metallic pumps, and a red lip. Like Beyoncé asking her team to please for the love of god <a target="_blank" href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12340703/Beyonce-SINGS-instructions-team-live-concert-forgot-turn-fan-on.html">turn on the fan</a>, Bashir gestures for the hairstylist, who's holding a leaf blower, to come closer.</p><p>Through hundreds of interviews, I've grown familiar enough with the trope of the misfit founder to know there's some truth to it. But from where I'm standing, that person is not Bashir. At one point she huddles around a monitor, watching images of herself flit across the screen. She takes a swig of tea and wags a pale-polished finger at a photo she likes.</p><p>I ask if she's fazed by the glamor. She shrugs and launches into a story about how, on the set of her Vogue photo shoot, she rejected a wardrobe selection from Anna Wintour.</p><p>"Can you say no to Anna?" someone asks.</p><p>"I'm not scared of Anna," Bashir replies — though maybe she is, just a little, because she turns to me to ask if we're off the record.</p><p>Bashir is the rare entrepreneur who can traverse the cultural zeitgeist, leaping from generative art to the Human Genome Project to Taylor Swift. (Though she's not a Swiftie, her role on the SoFi board ties her to the "Eras Tour" movie, which is set at the company's stadium.) "I've rarely come across so many superpowers in one person," says the investor Katie Haun, who met Bashir at a conference. She says Bashir struck her as a "deep thinker across many disciplines."</p><p>Miller met Bashir 11 years ago at a different conference, fresh off her company's founding. "You have every different type of person, and at the center of it was Ruzwana, probably the youngest person there," he says. "By the end, it felt like the entire conference was orbiting around her."</p><p>"I just think she's attractive, and I don't mean that in the superficial sense," he adds. "She's generous in her enthusiasm, her spirit, her optimism, her humor. They burn bright and colorfully."</p><div type="image" title="Ruzwana Bashir" height="4480" width="5769" msid="105263679" hostid="261"></div><p>A few years ago Bashir attended a leadership summit in the mountains where, after a day of discussions, she wandered into a room with board games. She sat down to play Connect Four across from Elon Musk. A crowd formed around them, and things got intense. She won, 3-1. "It was great to take the victory," she says. "He has space; I have Connect Four."</p><p>She also has a standing invitation to Silicon Valley's most exclusive, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/silicon-valley-secret-power-dinners-2013-1">semisecret</a> dinner party. Each month, tech's biggest power players — Marc Benioff, Reid Hoffman, Marissa Mayer, Dick Costolo — gather for a Jeffersonian dinner where the conversation ranges from all-knowing artificial intelligence, or AGI, to their industry's impact on geopolitics. Eating at acclaimed restaurants is fine, but Bashir prefers the more-intimate affairs at tech executives' homes because, she says, "you can stay longer." The dinners have the feel of a cool kids' gathering at a hometown bar the night before Thanksgiving — an ease that comes from decades of friendship.</p><p>This supper club's guest list has the power to affect policy, inspire innovation, and even shape our digital destiny. Bashir has been attending when she can for several years. "The goal for all of us is to shape our thinking so that we can be purposeful with it," she says. It's this kind of intention that defines Bashir's life, says Cohen, more than any material success. "There are people who take a piece of paper and chart out their path to achieving greatness by the age of whatever," he says. "Then there are people who view ambition through the lens of having a good and meaningful life and measuring impact by what that looks like day to day. And she's much more in that latter category."</p><p>Katherine Maher, the CEO of Web Summit, has gone to one such dinner as Bashir's guest. The two met seven years ago as members of the Young Presidents' Organization, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ypo-young-presidents-organization-secret-club-for-ceos-2021-4">an elite social group for business leaders</a>. Maher wanted to attend the organization's retreat, but she couldn't afford it at the time. So Bashir offered to split a hotel room. They bonded over art, book recommendations, travel stories. "Both of us felt like being CEOs of technology platforms weren't the only interests in our lives," Maher says.</p><p>The dinners scratch a familiar itch for the startup maven whose curiosity needs constant feeding. It's her reason for traveling — she visited more than 40 countries before turning 30 — and seeking out friends in such disparate fields. She points to one, Daniel Kahneman, a behavioral psychologist who won the Nobel prize in economics. It's not unusual, Bashir says, for laureates to take home prizes in fields where they're not experts. "They have understanding," she says. "But then, they are not beholden to the rules."</p><p>At the dinner, Maher noticed that when Bashir spoke, the table listened. "She has this way of reminding people of their core value, as opposed to the value that the world projects on them," Maher says. It slept up to four people, with a queen bed and a set of bunk beds. </p><div type="image" title="The interior of the Starcruiser room with white sheets and an orange design on top and bunk beds built into the wall" height="3024" width="4032" msid="91083821" hostid="261"></div><p>One wall of our room had a panel with D3-O9, a virtual artificial-intelligence assistant.</p><p>You could speak with D3-O9, and she'd answer questions about the ship. She proved to be a reliable source of information once the story got underway.</p><div type="image" title="My son talking to the droid panel in the wall" height="3024" width="4032" msid="91083823" hostid="261"></div><h2><strong>Next, we explored the rest of the ship</strong></h2><p>Initially, our access to some of the rooms was restricted, but by using the ship's consoles and our Datapads, we were able to get into other areas.</p><div type="image" title="a console in the star wars hotel with buttons" height="3024" width="4032" msid="91083825" hostid="261"></div><p>We explored parts of the ship, such as the engineering room, brig, and cargo hold. </p><div type="image" title="the engineering room on the star wars starcruiser hotel, with faux pipes and metal on the walls" height="2274" width="3024" msid="91083827" hostid="261"></div><h2><strong>For lunch, we headed back to the Crown of Corellia Dining Room</strong></h2><p>Food was served buffet style, with small portions of each selection available.</p><p>It had generally familiar foods with unique names that were presented in an unusual way, such as chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese (Dipped Tip Yip Chicken with Noodle Cheese) or a salad (Gardengrow Greens).</p><p>Unlimited drinks, including the iconic blue "milk" and green "milk," were included. The "milk" drinks are plant-based and can be ordered at <a href="https://www.insider.com/star-wars-galaxys-edge-disneyland-best-drinks-2019-6">Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge</a>, where one cup usually costs about $8. </p><div type="image" title="a tray of lunch and blue milk at the star wars galactic starcruiser" height="3024" width="4032" msid="91083882" hostid="261"></div><h2>After exploring the ship a bit more, we headed to the atrium for the muster, the first event listed in our Datapad</h2><p>The muster was where the story really kicked off, and we were introduced to the main characters and conflict.</p><p>Characters, including the ship's captain, spoke with us, and we were able to engage with the story by consulting our Datapads, where we received communications from the cast and instructions on how to complete missions. </p><p>There were plans on how to smuggle items off Batuu the next day, as well as people in need of avoiding contact with the authorities.</p><p>The missions continued for the rest of the afternoon and evening through bridge training, where we learned how to operate the Halcyon, and lightsaber training, where we learned the history of the weapon and how to use it.</p><div type="image" title="My son with a lightsaber at the training in a blue-lit room on the starcruiser" height="3024" width="4032" msid="91083884" hostid="261"></div><h2>Dinner was also served in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room</h2><p>This time, our meal was a more formal sit-down dinner. A separate, more basic menu for "younglings" was also available.</p><div type="image" title="dinner at corelia dinning room, clear trays with food inside and tongs" height="3024" width="4032" msid="91083888" hostid="261"></div><p>We went to a final gathering in the atrium, then we headed back to our room for bed.</p><h2><strong>After a quick breakfast, we boarded a transport for our excursion to Batuu</strong></h2><p>Breakfast was in the same dining room, and the presentation was similar to the lunch we had the day before. It was served buffet style with offerings such as yogurt and scrambled eggs.</p><p>The transport to Batuu led to a separate entrance at Galaxy's Edge in Hollywood Studios. We were given untimed Lightning Lane passes that gave us <a href="https://www.insider.com/i-go-to-disney-world-frequently-favorite-things-to-do-2021-9">priority boarding</a> for the rides Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance.</p><p>Guests usually have to pay extra for Lightning Lane passes. Buying one for an individual ride can cost about $7 to $15, depending on how popular the attraction is, and each person can usually buy only two passes per day. </p><p>Additionally, we had made reservations ahead of time for "<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/reviews/out?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.disneyplus.com%2Fbrand%2Fstar-wars" rel="nofollow sponsored">Star Wars</a>"-themed activities in the park that weren't part of the Starcruiser stay: getting drinks at <a href="https://www.insider.com/trying-ogas-cantina-disney-world-review-photos-2022-2">Oga's Cantina</a> and building droids at the Droid Depot. </p><div type="image" title="Batuu" height="3024" width="4032" msid="91083890" hostid="261"></div><p>We also had a dining credit at Docking Bay, a fast-casual restaurant in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. But by the time lunch came around, it was easier to head back to the Halcyon for a crowd-free dining experience.</p><h2><strong>Once back on the Halcyon, we participated in more onboard activities and got dinner</strong></h2><p>The activities included droid racing (with remote-controlled toys), a sabacc tournament, and Sector Set (similar to bingo).</p><div type="image" title="A photo of my son playing Sabbac next to a photo of him sitting onthe floor with. aremote control racing a small droid" height="900" width="1200" msid="91083892" hostid="261"></div><p>The story intensified later in the afternoon, and we spent time fulfilling missions, such as speaking with certain characters and participating in covert meetings with other passengers and cast members.</p><p>Dinner that night was a "Taste Around the Galaxy" showcase, which featured dishes from different parts of the "Star Wars" galaxy. After a short celebration, we headed to our room for bed.</p><p>We spent our last morning getting ready, packing up our souvenirs, and savoring our final breakfast on the ship. Cast members took our luggage, and we disembarked the Halcyon via a launch pod that brought us back to the Galactic spaceport. </p><h2><strong>Overall, our stay on the Galactic Starcruiser was well worth it</strong></h2><p><strong></strong></p><div type="image" title="family at the entrance of the starcruiser" height="3024" width="4032" msid="91083896" hostid="261"></div><p>It was an expensive stay, but the attention to detail made it seem like we were living in the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/reviews/out?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.disneyplus.com%2Fbrand%2Fstar-wars" rel="nofollow sponsored">"Star Wars" universe</a>.</p><p>Admission to Hollywood Studios, preferred access to the rides in Galaxy's Edge, and unlimited <a href="https://www.insider.com/cinderellas-royal-table-disney-world-review-worth-it-photos-2022-4">gourmet food</a> added to the value of the trip. </p><p>Additionally, the service was impeccable, and we felt like VIP guests throughout our visit. We're glad we booked our stay and may even consider a return trip.</p>

This is over half (52%) of the total visas granted globally and a 5% increase from last year. Hence, 42% more Indians visited the country. <br /><br />“It shows that the UK continues to be a welcoming place for Indians to work, study and vacation. Indian fans who travelled to the UK for the Cricket World Cup in England and Wales was even greater. Indians studying in the UK have doubled in the last three years

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Meet Deon Graham, the <keyword id="246012" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="CBO">CBO</keyword> of <keyword id="520467" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Diddy">Diddy</keyword>'s Combs Enterprises.</li><li>Graham spoke to Insider about "keeping the brand at the center of the <keyword id="24504" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="culture">culture</keyword>."</li><li>He also shared his 360-approach to the <keyword id="11737471" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="rolling-loud">Rolling Loud</keyword> <keyword id="6354530" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="music">music</keyword> festival and what he does in his role as CBO.</li></ul><p>Deon Graham - a powerhouse in his own right - is one of the people behind Sean "Diddy" Combs' success as a businessman. Graham - an Aquarius, soccer fan, introvert, and father of three - has been in his role as the chief brand officer of Combs Enterprises for a year, but he's been by Diddy's side for years now.</p><p>The executive's journey began at Florida International University, where he was enrolled for a semester before leaving to focus on his brand City Never Sleeps - which transitioned from being a website that connected Black people to nightlife in major cities to "a digital creative agency that gives a f--- about your brand," <a href="https://www.cityneversleeps.com/">according to its website</a>.</p><p>Graham said the decision to dive into his work with this platform changed his life and saved him from "going down the wrong path."</p><p>He quickly learned that even without the education and the accolades he still had "multi-billion dollar ideas." </p><p>"And once I realized that, it gave me confidence. So yes, that was extremely surprising in the beginning, because I didn't know how powerful my thoughts and strategies and way of looking at <keyword id="6355515" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="business">business</keyword> were," Graham continued.</p><p>Graham told Insider in a <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/diddy-digital-marketing-executive-deon-graham-talks-nightlife-digital-marketing-2021-2">previous interview</a> that his advertisements for a vodka brand partnering with City Never Sleeps got Diddy's attention. Diddy's advertising agency, Blue Flame, then asked Graham if he'd be willing to work with Diddy's CÎROC Vodka in 2009.</p><p>The two have worked together since then. Graham, the now 36-year-old CBO of Combs Enterprises, started as a freelance digital consultant for Combs Enterprises in 2009. He's also served as digital director and vice president of digital before becoming Combs Enterprises' chief brand officer.</p><p><a href="https://www.combsenterprises.com/index.html">Combs Enterprises</a> is responsible for a wide array of investments and businesses for the cultural icon Sean "Diddy" Combs. It includes brands such as Bad Boy Worldwide <keyword id="4578" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="entertainment">Entertainment</keyword> Group; Sean John, the clothing line; Combs Wine &amp; Spirits, the company responsible for CÎROC Vodka and DeLeón Tequila; AQUAhydrate, the water brand; The Blue Flame Agency, an advertising and marketing business; and REVOLT Films and REVOLT MEDIA &amp; TV.</p><h2>'For the culture'</h2><p>In his role, Graham is at the heart of all of it: His work with Combs Enterprises means he's been involved with several major cultural touchstones.</p><p>"We're always showing up for the culture and have been for years," said Graham. </p><p>For example, "<a href="https://www.instagram.com/verzuztv/?hl=en">VERZUZ,</a>" a platform showcasing live battles between R&amp;B and hip-hop artists via Instagram live and Apple Music, and a "cultural phenomenon," according to the man himself, sparked Graham's interest and led to CÎROC becoming the title sponsor for VERZUZ.</p><p>He also helped organize Diddy's Dance-a-Thon via IG Live to raise money for PPE for Black and brown neighborhoods. And he helped launch <a href="https://www.instagram.com/revoltblacknews/?hl=en">REVOLT Black News</a>, hosted and executive produced by Eboni K. Williams, in June 2020: "Because of the lockdown, we were able to bring that to life and give people the <keyword id="6355005" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="news">news</keyword> on REVOLT from the culture to the culture without any cut in it."</p><p>Graham says he is proud of being a part of so many cultural moments - especially the <a href="https://www.revolt.tv/revolt-summit/archives">REVOLT Summit</a>, which occurred virtually in October 2020. </p><p>"Being in a room with thousands of people that look like me, providing opportunity, seeing the network, seeing them get jobs, it always sticks out to me as the focal point. And as this world opens back up, it's coming back to top of mind," he said. </p><h2>Rolling Loud </h2><p><a href="https://www.rollingloud.com/">Rolling Loud</a>, founded by Tariq Cherif and Matthew Zingler in 2015, is "the largest hip hop festival in the world," according to their website. From Miami to Queens to Southern California, the cultural moment came back after more than a year without face-to-face festivals in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic (though there were <a href="https://www.miamiherald.com/miami-com/miami-com-news/article245349250.html">two free virtual performances</a> in the fall).</p><p>Rolling Loud will feature Combs Enterprises in all facets of the festival: general admission, VIP, drinks, and media coverage. </p><p>Prior to Graham becoming CBO, Combs Enterprises was involved with the festival on a smaller scale. But this year, Combs Enterprises is involved in every aspect of the festival. No matter who is attending, watching, or reading, they interacted with a Combs Enterprises brand.</p><p>"As a cultural marketer, my focus is always finding creative ways to make sure our brands show up and have a dominant presence in the biggest cultural moments," Combs, CEO of Combs Enterprises told Insider.</p><p>"Our partnership with Rolling Loud is a perfect example of bringing this vision to life and Deon has done an incredible job continuing to elevate our portfolio of companies," the mogul added.</p><h2>How he gets it done</h2><p>Graham said an integral part of his job is listening to others, no matter their position. It's his goal to "create an open forum where people aren't afraid to speak."</p><p>"And I, as the leader in the situation, provide a little bit of direction, but it's always in collaboration with anybody," he added. "'Cause I remember being at some of these meetings, or at the table, and I felt like people weren't listening to what I was saying, like based on my position or role in the company at that time."</p><p>Though he's an introvert at heart, Graham said he does this by talking to people who may not be in his immediate circle, by stepping out of his comfort zone. </p><p>"You have to touch the people. You have to go to events. You have to network with people. You have to listen. You can't just use your perspective," Graham told Insider.</p><p>Graham also said that providing platforms and opportunities is important to the Black community: "It's all we have. It's the only way that we're going to be successful - if we do this thing together, if we look out for each other, just strength in numbers, we need it."</p>

Trump.</p></div><p></p></div></div>The Department of Justice is weighing whether or not to appeal a decision issued by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to deny reinstating President Donald Trump's immigration order while its legality is established, according to multiple reports Friday.</p><p>That's because the White House is apparently rewriting the controversial executive order - which temporarily bans immigration from six predominantly Muslim countries and permanently from Syria - so that it has a better chance of withstanding legal challenges.</p><p>Trump tweeted on Thursday night that he intends to appeal <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-muslim-ban-comments-could-affect-his-standing-in-court-2017-2">the Ninth Circuit's decision</a>: "SEE YOU IN COURT," he wrote shortly after the judges issued their 29-page opinion. But he wavered on that pronouncement Friday, saying he "very well could" issue a "brand new order" next week.</p><p>Legal experts say rewriting the order is likely a much better option for the Trump administration than sticking with the "extreme vetting" order in its current form, which would likely result in more litigation.</p><p>"There are a variety of things the government could do to help their case. It's just a matter of how much they're willing to change the executive order," said Stephen Yale-Loehr, a professor of immigration <keyword id="6355470" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Law">law</keyword> at Cornell University.</p><p>Yale-Loehr said that the order's most controversial sections - 3(c) and the near entirety of section 5, which were the subject of a lawsuit brought by Washington and Minnesota against the government that ultimately resulted in the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/seattle-judge-blocks-trump-immigration-ban-2017-2">temporary restraining order (TRO) placed on the ban</a> - would either have to be changed significantly or removed entirely if the administration wanted to shield itself from further litigation.</p><h2>The key section</h2><p>Section 3(c) of the immigration order stipulates that "immigrant and nonimmigrant entry into the United States of aliens from" Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Iran, Somalia, Libya and Yemen "would be detrimental to the interests of the United States," and that Trump would "hereby suspend entry into the United States, as immigrants and nonimmigrants, of such persons for 90 days from the date of this order."</p><p>The original order did not list the countries specifically but referred to those targeted in an Obama-era visa-waiver policy, the Department of Homeland Security <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/news/2017/01/29/protecting-nation-foreign-terrorist-entry-united-states">later clarified</a>.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Mike Theiler/Reuters</span></p><p class="caption">Police direct arriving passengers past dozens of pro-immigration demonstrators who cheer and hold signs at Dulles International Airport, to protest Trump's travel ban in Chantilly, Virginia, on January 29, 2017.</p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>The nationwide enforcement of Section 3(c) was restrained "in its entirety" last week by US District Judge James Robart, who sided with the states' argument that the order caused "significant and ongoing harm" to "substantial numbers of people, to the detriment of the States."</p><p>When Robart asked the government lawyer, Michelle Bennett, if there had been any terrorist attacks by people from the seven counties listed in Trump's order since 9/11, Bennett said she didn't know.</p><p>"The answer is none," Robart said, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/seattle-judge-blocks-trump-immigration-ban-2017-2">according to Reuters</a>. "You're here arguing we have to protect from these individuals from these countries, and there's no support for that."</p><p>Even after appealing the restraining order to the Ninth Circuit, the government still had difficulty proving that citizens from the seven countries posed an elevated terror risk above others.</p><p>"The proceedings have been moving very fast," the Department of Justice lawyer, August Flentje, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-muslim-ban-comments-could-affect-his-standing-in-court-2017-2">told Ninth Circuit Judge Michelle Friedland</a> when she asked whether the government had any evidence connecting the seven nations targeted by the order to terrorism.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>REUTERS/Joe Penney</span></p><p class="caption">Fuad Sharef Suleman and his son Bnyad Fuad Sharef arrive at Terminal 1 at JFK airport in Queens, New York, on February 5, 2017. The Iraqi family were previously prevented from boarding a plane to the US following Trump's decision to bar travelers from seven countries, including Iraq.</p></div><p></p></div></div>Another option - rather than gutting Section 3(c) altogether - would be to stipulate that people from those countries have to go through greater screening procedures to get a visa, Yale-Loehr said.</p><p>"But they'd need to outline what those new procedures are in a revised executive order to make them comply with due-process requirements," she said.</p><p>The due-process clauses in the Constitution safeguard people from arbitrary denial of life, liberty, or property by the government outside of the sanction of law. The government had argued before the Ninth Circuit that the TRO should apply only to lawful permanent residents, because as it stands it "covers aliens who cannot assert cognizable liberty interests."</p><p>But the judges <a href="https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/3457898/2-9-17-9th-Circuit-Order.pdf">determined Thursday</a> that limiting the scope of the TRO, as the government requested, would "on its face omit aliens who are in the United States unlawfully, and those individuals have due process rights as well."</p><p>"The government has not met its burden of showing likelihood of success on appeal on its arguments with respect to the due process claim," the judges wrote.</p><h2>In need of 'an adequate factual basis'</h2><p>Critics of the order have said that the countries it targets seem arbitrary, since it does not include countries that have posed serious terror threats in the past, including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates. The immigration order cites the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks three times as justification, but the 9/11 hijackers were from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Lebanon.</p><p>Lyman Stone <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2017/01/30/heres-trumps-immigration-order-says-needs-fixed/">put it bluntly</a> in an article for The Federalist: "Most reasonable people would agree that banning people who have never been associated with any terrorist attack in our country (say, Bhutanese Hindus) doesn't make much sense."</p><p>Litigation over the order will likely continue until the government provides "an adequate factual basis for singling out these specific countries as distinct sources of risk," Richard Pildes, a professor of Constitutional Law at New York University, told Business Insider in an email.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>REUTERS/Kevin Lamarque</span></p><p class="caption">Trump and Obama.</p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Trump <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2017/01/29/president-donald-j-trump-statement-regarding-recent-executive-order">has argued</a> that the seven countries named in the executive order "are the same countries previously identified by the Obama administration as sources of terror." The DOJ similarly claimed <a href="http://cdn.ca9.uscourts.gov/datastore/general/2017/02/06/17-35105%20reply%20in%20support%20of%20stay.pdf">in its filing</a> to the US Court of Appeals that the listed countries had "a previously identified link to an increased risk of terrorist activity."</p><p>Yet the Ninth Circuit judges <a href="https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/3457898/2-9-17-9th-Circuit-Order.pdf">expressed skepticism</a> of Trump's use of Obama's policy to justify his immigration ban.</p><p>"Although the Government points to the fact that Congress and the Executive identified the seven countries named in the Executive Order as countries of concern in 2015 and 2016, the Government has not offered any evidence or even an explanation of how the national security concerns that justified those designations, which triggered visa requirements, can be extrapolated to justify an urgent need for the Executive Order to be immediately reinstated," the judges wrote.</p><p>"We cannot conclude that the Government has shown that it is 'absolutely clear that the allegedly wrongful behavior could not reasonably be expected to recur,'" they added.</p><h2>Section 5</h2><p>Section 5 of the immigration order - which stipulates a "realignment of the US Refugee Admissions Program for Fiscal Year 2017" and a suspension of the US Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) for 120 days - has also proved controversial.</p><p>The nationwide enforcement of sections 5(a), 5(b), 5(c), and 5(e) - along with 3(c) - was blocked by the Seattle judge's retraining order, which was upheld by the Ninth Circuit on Thursday.</p><p>"In a best-case scenario, in terms of their chances of winning in court, they would not completely suspend the refugee-admissions program but require some kind of additional screening procedures for refugees and start rolling those out," Yale-Loehr said.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Muhammad Hamed/Reuters</span></p><p class="caption">Syrian refugee children stand in front of their family caravan in the Al Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan near the border with Syria in December 2016.</p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>"Section 5(c), which bars anyone from Syria from entering the US, would also have to go," he added.
