All Adani group stocks saw a massive rally in the last one year. Adani Total Gas alone tripled its returns in the last one year. The only stock that has delivered negligible returns in this time frame is Adani Ports &amp; SEZ. So, should you buy these Adani stocks? According to Deepak Jasani of HDFC Securities, investors should not look at buying stocks purely for dividend. “Adani stocks are very highly volatile counters and won't advise conservative investors to invest in these stocks only just for the dividend. Only aggressive traders can look at buying these stocks on dips based on market trends,” Prashanth Tapse, vice president – research, Mehta Equities, told Business Insider India. Kush Ghodasara, a market expert, told Business Insider India that while Adani Total Gas is near its lifetime high and as such, at a high valuation, the other two stocks – Adani Enterprises and Adani Ports are worth considering. At the end of the day, risk appetite alone helps determine stock investments. While high growth companies are riskier bets, they generally tend to reinvest their profits into the business instead of paying out dividends. On the other hand, most companies which are unable to exhibit high growth, especially public sector companies, pay out higher dividends for two reasons – dividends are a way for promoters to make money, and to reward their long-term investors. India’s largest life insurer reported a net profit of ₹13,428 crore in Q4 as against ₹2,372 crore in the same period last year. On a sequential basis, too, LIC’s bottom line grew from ₹8,334 crore in Q3, which is a growth of 61%. Its net commissions grew by 5.4% YoY to ₹8,429 crore, while sequential growth stood at 33.4%. Consolidated net premium income stood at ₹1.32 crore in Q4, down by 8.3% YoY. “The first-year premium fell by 12.33% on-year to ₹12,811 crore, but the renewal premium increased by 6.8% to ₹76,009 crore compared to year-ago period,” LIC said in an exchange filing. For FY23, LIC’s net profit rose by over 9-times to ₹36,397 crore, from ₹4,043 crore in FY22, while its total premium income increased 11% to ₹4.74 lakh crore in the same period. In a post-earnings call, the company painted an optimistic outlook for FY24, stating that “VNB (value of new business) margins will grow and improve” in the current financial year. The insurer’s board recommended a final dividend of ₹3 per share, which translates to a dividend payout of ₹1,897 crore. LIC’s shares hit an intra-day high of ₹616, rising 3.6%, in morning trade today, before paring some of the gains to trade at ₹605 apiece. The insurer’s solvency ratio also witnessed an improvement in the March quarter, rising to 1.87 from 1.85 in the same period last year. Insolvency ratio refers to the company’s capital compared to the risk it has taken. Under non-participatory products, the profits are not shared with policyholders and go entirely to the shareholders, increasing their returns and earnings per share. Meanwhile, weakness in the US dollar resulted in the rupee closing below the 82 level for the first time in the last one month. Sensex, Nifty50 marginally up amid volatility – IT, auto and FMCG indices among top gainers

Shares of <keyword id="895682" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Adani-Ports">Adani Ports</keyword>, among India's largest privately-run ports, inched near fresh highs on news that the stock will be included in the <keyword id="6354813" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="nifty">Nifty</keyword> Index from September 28. 
 
Adani Ports rose 12.5 rupees, or 3.9 percent, to 334.65 rupees on the National Stock Exchange where 13.5 lakh shares changed hands compared with the 5-day average of 25.6 lakh shares. 
 
Adani Ports' market capitalisation has jumped 22 percent in the past one year to 66,600 crore rupees. The company's revenue has appreciated 33 percent compounded in the past five years to 6,631 crore rupees and net profit has gained 28 percent compounded to 2,378 crore rupees in the same time period. 
 
Adani Ports trades at a dividend yield of 0.34 percent.
