<p>Apparently Yahoo CEO <keyword id="319703" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Marissa-Mayer">Marissa Mayer</keyword> and Yammer CEO <keyword id="980149" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="David-Sacks">David Sacks</keyword> are fans. They and their spouses have donated to support the animals, Bloomberg's Mark Milian <a href="http://go.bloomberg.com/tech-deals/2013-02-04-no-bull-yahoo-ceo-marissa-mayer-is-big-on-buffalo/">reports</a>.</p>
<p>In September, Financial Times reporter Tim Bradshaw <a href="https://twitter.com/tim/status/252564310834946050">noticed a sign</a> recognizing the financial support of Mayer and her husband, tech investor <keyword id="1772956" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Zack-Bogue">Zack Bogue</keyword>.</p>
<p>Bradshaw tells us he later saw the sign a bit worse for wear, having "taken a beating."</p>
<p>Weird. Who dislikes bison?</p>
<p>The San Francisco Parks Alliance, a nonprofit which helps support the city's parks, <a href="http://www.sfparksalliance.org/the-alliance/philanthropy/party-parks-0/patrons">recognized</a> Mayer and Bogue as a "First Family" and David and Jacqueline Sacks as "Park Heroes."</p>
<p>The "First Family" level requires a donation of at least $20,000, while $2,500 or more gets "Park Hero" status.</p>
<p>We also noticed that Yahoo executive Adam Cahan, who was recently promoted to be Yahoo's senior vice president of mobile and emerging products as a key member of Mayer's team, <a href="http://drewaltizer.com/events/3306/party-for-the-parks-at-anglers-lodge/photo/1557725/?search=Adam%20Cahan">attended a Party for the Parks event in September</a>.</p>

Marissa Mayer's Husband Baked Her Some Adorable Dinosaur Cookies For Her Birthday

She announced that she was pregnant with him <a href="http://fortune.com/2012/07/17/new-yahoo-ceo-mayer-is-pregnant/">the day Yahoo named her as its new CEO</a>. </p><p>Like she did then, Mayer says she will work throughout her pregnancy and take "limited time away" after the birth of her twins. </p><p>"<span>I've shared the news and my plans with Yahoo's Board of Directors and my executive team, and they are incredibly supportive and happy for me," she writes.</span></p><p>Mayer also emphasizes that she's never been more excited about Yahoo's growth opportunities. Although the company <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/yahoo-q2-earnings-2015-7">missed on earnings in its Q2 report</a>, it saw an overall strong revenue increase in Mavens - what it calls its mobile, video, native, and social group of businesses.</p><p>She writes:</p><blockquote class="blockquote">Leading Yahoo in our renaissance, alongside a terrific and dedicated team, has given me tremendous professional pride in our accomplishments.  I've never been more excited about our progress and the growth opportunities for our amazing company.  At the same time, I'm blessed to have experienced some of my most extraordinary and proudest personal moments while being Yahoo's CEO.  Moving forward, there will be a lot to do for both my family and for Yahoo; both will require hard work and thoughtful prioritization. <p>The article calls out an alpha trio of this new breed (with the phrase "Swags") as Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, c<span>o-founder of One Kings Lane Ali Pincus, and </span>Kleiner Perkins partner Juliet de Baubigny (or, in <keyword id="20864" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="vogue">Vogue</keyword>'s words a "stylish venture capitalist" who "manages her frenetic family life ... through judicious spreadsheeting").</p>
<p>These women could all be justifiably classified as "high tech heroines." But <span>Vogue framed them as "wives and girlfriends." Sure, Marissa Mayer is married. But Vogue seems to think her primary identity is as Zack Bogue's wife.<br /></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">Here are three other ways we thought the piece was dumb:<br /></span></p>
<p>1. In its before-and-after comparison of California's "nerds' paradise," Vogue's Nicole Mowbray describes the Valley before the Swags took over as characterized by "Converse, baggy jeans, and a hoody" where people held brief dinners in local diners to leave everyone "time to code until the small hours." Now that the ladies have moved in though, it's apparently all about "networking cocktail nights" and glamour. Subtext: the dudes were focused on creating new companies but the girls are more interested in fashion and booze. </p>
<p>2. Not a single member of the "alpha set" spoke on the record to Mowbray. She does, however, talk to Bita Daryabari as a testament to how women can prosper in Silicon Valley. Yet Daryabari's story, per Vogue, goes like this: She was working her way up in the telecommunications industry, got married, quit her job to focus on her kids, and had her (now ex) husband become a multi-billionaire by being Google's twelfth employee. </p>
<p>3. Mowbray says that Swags are not just arm candy and are more likely to be seen "power-walking to a business summit than driving to a spray-tan appointment in the latest Ferrari." Because everyone else in the Valley drives a Ferrari, right?</p>
