<keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> has renamed its upcoming <keyword id="43820" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hatchback">hatchback</keyword>, which was earlier named as <keyword id="186164" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="ZICA">Zica</keyword>, as Tiago after successful end of a name hunt campaign. 
 Earlier this month, auto major had decided to rename its soon-to-be launched hatchback Zica in view of the outbreak of <keyword id="3189910" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Zika">Zika</keyword> virus. 
 
The company said it had announced the intent to rename the car "as the right and responsible action following the hardships caused by the virus outbreak across many countries". 
The company will apply for regulatory registrations and is working towards the market launch by March end. 
 
"We are delighted with the response and support we have received from our well-wishers across the globe through the Fantastico Name Hunt campaign. We are proud to announce the new name - TIAGO for our next new hatchback," Tata Motors said in a statement. 
 
The company has begun working towards launching this car and are determined to place it in the market addressing all relevant needs of the target audience, he added. 
 
The #Fantastico Name Hunt commenced with a global crowd-sourcing initiative, inviting netizens, both within and outside India, to participate in the name hunt for the car. 
 
Within three days, 48 million enthusiasts engaged with the brand on social platforms with more than 37,000 car enthusiasts submitting their suggestions through social and mobile channels. 
 
"Tiago became the chosen name from the final three entries - Tiago, Civet and Adore that were opened up for the audience voting," the company said.

<keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> has launched a new car named <keyword id="186164" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="ZICA">Zica</keyword>, and the officials hope that it would open new gates for the company, taking it back to the good old days when it used to be at the centre of the Indian car market. 
 
Talking of their latest offering, Zica is a compact hatchback that is put in the market to compete with Maruti Suzuki's Wagon R and Celerio, and Hyundai's Grand i10. This segment sells somewhere between 40,000 to 45,000 cars a month. 
 
The car was unveiled to the media last week and sales are expected to begin from January. Aimed at young, first-time car buyers and is a part of Tata Motors' aim to make `cool cars', offering desirable vehicles which are dependable and sturdy. Zica would be priced between Rs 3.59 lakh and Rs 5.59 lakh. 
 
Tata Motors, which is India's largest automotive manufacturer by revenue have plans to entice buyers by giving out lavish features that are not usual in affordable hatchback segment. 
 
Zica has been built on an all-new platform and has been designed and developed after enough research, taking inputs from around 1,000 prospective buyers. It is developed under Tata Motors' Jaguar Land Rover-inspired new product introduction process, and more than 200 engineers worked on the project for 3 years. 
 
"Zica is a fresh start for us, a new beginning," Mayank Pareek, president of passenger vehicle division at Tata Motors, told ET. "I am quite confident that the market will respond favourably as it is the bestlooking car, which delivers on style, performance and value." 
Talking of specifications, Zica comes with two all-new engines -a three-cylinder 1.2L all-aluminum petrol engine, estimated to deliver 1820 kms to a litre and a 1L diesel engine offering 25 kmpl. 
 
Like Nano, Zica too would be produced in Sanand. Zica is also backed by an overhauled ecosystem that delivers on cost, quality, network, sales experience and not to forget, a strong branding with world-famous footballer Lionel Messi as the company's new brand ambassador. 
With the launch of Zica and plans to bring out two new products every year, Tata Motors expects that the sales volume would pick up fast.

 <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword>’ Tiago has been priced lower than <keyword id="596" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai">Hyundai</keyword> i10 and Grand i10 and the company is expecting it to be a game changing model.

Tata Motors MD Guenter Butschek claimed Tiago has great handling experience and is also targeted at higher end customers. 
 
After Nano, Tiago is the first car by Tata and is being produced at the Sanand plant. 
 
Tiago will come in five variants and is powered by Revetron 3 cylinder 1.2 litre petrol engine.

Tata Motors’ new hatchback Tiago launched at Rs 3.2 lakh, may turn around its fortunes

<keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> has released images of its ‘<keyword id="186164" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="ZICA">Zica</keyword>’ which is expected to be launched in the first week of January 2016 to take on its rivals like <keyword id="596" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hyundai">Hyundai</keyword> i10, Maruti Celerio and the <keyword id="55200" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Chevrolet">Chevrolet</keyword> Beat. It derives its name from the ‘Zippy Car’. 

	Interior images of the Zica have revealed Tata's now-traditional, short-diameter, three-spoke steering wheel, integrated music controls, a 2-DIN music system, chrome door handles, front and rear power windows, dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and a rear wiper and washer.
 

	Power for the Zica is expected to come from an all-new three-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol engine, and a three-cylinder 1.05-litre diesel engine which is basically a scaled-down unit of Tata's 1.4-litre four-cylinder unit. The engines are expected to be paired with manual and automated manual transmissions.
 

	Based on an extensively modified version of the Indica's platform, the Zica will be positioned below the Bolt, and will replace the Indica in the private passenger vehicles market.

<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Tata+Motors">Tata Motors</a> has renamed its new Zica to Tiago. The <keyword id="43820" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Hatchback">hatchback</keyword>’s initial name was a combination of ‘zippy’ and ‘car’. 
 
The name ‘Tiago’ is a Portuguese boy’s name that was selected from over 37,000 entries the company received though it’s global SMS contest and social media requests over three days. It offered the car to the winner of the contest. The global auto maker will now register the car’s brand name and launch it in India by the end of March. 
 
The question remains, why would anyone take that trouble?! Tata already showcased the car with the Zica brand name at the Auto Expo 2016 in New Delhi. The public didn’t have to vote for that one! 
 
The launch of the Zica unfortunately coincided with an outbreak of a mosquito-borne virus with a similar sounding name: Zika. It has affected over 20 countries and has been linked to severe birth defects, including microcephaly that results in babies with abnormally small heads. The <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=World+Health+Organization">World Health Organization</a> (WHO) declared the Zika outbreak to as a global health emergency. That spelled doom for <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Tata+Motors">Tata</a>’s cute hatchback. 
 
Days before the Auto Expo, the company announced it would drop the Zica name in solidarity with the people affected by the deadly virus, even though Jaguar had already been promoting the Zica for more than two months. That’s when they started inviting the public to propose names. 
 
<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Tata+Motors">Tata Motors</a> has its fingers crossed this car, the first of a new family of passenger vehicles, will plug its slipping passenger vehicle sales numbers in India. Maruti Suzuki continues to maintain its leadership in the <keyword id="3202565" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Domestic-passenger-vehicle">domestic passenger vehicle</keyword> market with six of its models featuring in the top 10 brands in January.

changed the name of its new car because it sounded like the Zika Virus

<keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword>, the largest Indian automobile manufacturer, will be showcasing more than 25 models and concepts, ranging from passenger to commercial vehicles at the 2016 Auto Expo, marking the widest display as of yet at this biennial exhibition. 
 
Even though it is the largest Indian automobile manufacturer in terms of revenue, Tata Motors has seen its market share slip 8-10% in the past five years. 
 The 2016 Auto Expo to be held in Greater Noida would be starting on February 5, and will see four new vehicles from Tata Motors passenger vehicle division - the <keyword id="3156730" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Zica-hatchback">Zica hatchback</keyword>, the concept Kite 5 sub-four-metre sedan, and the production versions of the <keyword id="3216481" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hexa-multipurpose-vehicle">Hexa multipurpose vehicle</keyword> and the <keyword id="3216482" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nexon-compact-SUV">Nexon compact SUV</keyword>. 
 
Talking of commercial vehicles, Tata Motors will be unveiling the new Signa range of trucks. 
 
"This year's theme, #TataMotorsSmartHub, is derived from the synergy between 'Smart Technology' and 'Smart Products'. Highly captivating and engaging zones will not only accentuate our vehicles' presence but also display our future technology capabilities," a spokesperson told ET. 
 Launch of all these new products is critical for the company because their recent launches like <keyword id="67248" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Zest">Zest</keyword>, <keyword id="46905" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bolt">Bolt</keyword> and the <keyword id="3215822" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gen-X-Nano">Gen X Nano</keyword> have not left any great impact in the market.

2016 Auto expo to see 25 new products from Tata Motors

Tata had the world premiere of the Nexon sub-4m SUV at the <keyword id="2855210" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Auto-Expo-2016">Auto Expo 2016</keyword> today. Tata’s first ever attempt at the <keyword id="504693" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="compact-SUV">compact SUV</keyword> segment is built on the same Tata X1 platform that supports the Bolt and Zest. 
 
Under the hood it’s got the 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced MultiJet diesel engine with options for manual and automated manual transmissions. The petrol variant packs in the turbo-charged all-new aluminum 1.2-liter three-cylinder Revotron engine that was first seen in the new Zica hatchback. 
 
Inside, the interiors look like that of the Tata Zest, and are fitted with a multifunction steering wheel, and rotary dials for the HVAC system. Top-end variants come fitted with the Harman touch-screen infotainment system and automatic climate control.
