<ul><li>Ahead of its big fashion festival sale, Myntra scales up its collection for teenagers to cover 30,000 styles.</li><li>The teens segment on Myntra has been growing at a CAGR of nearly 150% in the last two years.</li></ul>With the big fashion festival sale around the corner, Myntra is expanding its product portfolio for climate-conscious and fashionable teenagers. It has added Wrogn and <keyword id="14923169" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="dressberry-teens" source="Orion">Dressberry teens</keyword> to its portfolio and will display more than 30,000 styles for teens. To appeal to this target audience, the collection will focus on self-expression, individuality and conscious choices, Myntra said. The teens category has registered a compounded annual growth rate of almost 150% in the last two years on Myntra. Teens Store on Myntra houses a one-of-a-kind, dedicated shopping alley for teenagers, aimed towards filling gaps and addressing specific needs of the shoppers in this segment, the press release said. “With today’s young consumers being conscious of the role that fashion plays in their life and reflective of who they stand for, the Wrogn and Dressberry teens line will further enable our fashion-forward teen cohort to have access to the trendy and conscious selection,” Jubi Samuel, senior director - category management at Myntra, told Business Insider India. Dressberry Teens will offer over 190 trend-first options for teenage girls, with 50% of the range being sustainable and environmentally friendly. <keyword id="14923170" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="wrogn-teens" source="Orion">Wrogn Teens</keyword>, on the other hand, caters to 7 to 14-year-old teenage boys on the platform. Its selection will be ramped up to over 300 styles in the t-shirts, shirts and jeans category, ahead of the festive season. Flipkart’s Myntra leads the fashion industry According to a recent Bernstein report, ecommerce platforms Flipkart and Myntra are estimated to be the dominant players in fashion with around 60% share. Close second comes Ajio, which is a part of Reliance Retail and is growing strongly with around 15% market share. The report by the wealth management firm expects the overall e-commerce market in India to grow at an annual rate of 30% to reach $130 billion by 2025. Within e-commerce, fashion saw the strongest growth in 2021, occupying 29% of the overall market. “Growth is expected to be led by new online shoppers - primarily from tier 2 and tier 3 cities - and continued online migration of key categories including fashion and grocery,” the report said.

Their company, Ecoright, on Wednesday secured a $30,000 grant from the world’s largest e-commerce company Amazon as part of the latter’s accelerator programme for startups. Ecoright, an online e-commerce company, was founded by Nikita Barmecha and Udit Sood to sell sustainable tote bags and satchels. “Everything we do, circles back to the planet we love,” declares their company website. The Soods are an eco-friendly family – Udit’s father Sanjiv Sood and his wife are staunch supporters of the anti-plastic movement. His sister is an environmental lawyer. While studying at IIM-Calcutta, Udit’s research was focused on sustainable trade practices. This culminated in the genesis of Ecoright in 2017. Five years later, Ecoright has won the second position at the second season of Amazon’s 8-week startup accelerator programme. The programme received over 1,000 applications from top direct to consumer (D2C) brands in India, of which 15 were selected to undergo the mentorship programme. Ecoright aims to use the $30,000 grant and $10,000 AWS Activate credits to build global sustainable practices and invest more in ethical manufacturing. “With the help of Amazon, we aim to collaborate with leading designers in the country within 12-14 months. The 8-week Amazon accelerator programme also helped give more clear structure to our business for going global,” Udit Sood said in a conversation with Business Insider India. Ecoright is looking to expand in countries like Singapore and UAE. It has already established its footprint in Malta, Greenland, USA, Canada, Mexico, Denmark, Australia, New Zealand with over 150 products across 34 product lines. Ecoright is projected to make ₹30 crore in FY23 and aims to be a ₹500 crore company by 2027, revealed the younger Sood. “Out of the 125 countries we ship to, India is the largest consumer base till date. Indians are very receptive to sustainable products,” he said. Four out of five Indians consider sustainability as a criteria while buying fashion items, according to a YouGov <a href="https://in.yougov.com/en-hi/news/2019/08/06/more-8-10-indians-are-open-buying-sustainable-fash/">survey</a>, one of the world's leading market research and data companies. This is what Ecoright is hoping to tap. Merging style with sustainability Ecoright’s biggest challenge is creating fashion items that are both stylish and eco-friendly. It uses organic cotton, azo-free dyes, Juton – a mix of cotton and jute– and recycled PET bottles. “It is difficult to blend both style and sustainability but we are trying to achieve that. A new material called Juton is being experimented by us. The product leads to 45% lower water consumption and 38% lower emissions. Everyone wants sustainable options but research and development of the products take time,” Sood, referred to as the Panda by his team, told Business Insider India. From a solar powered factory with rainwater harvesting, zero emissions and use of eco-friendly materials, Ecoright is getting many things right. It is also actively building a company that is inclusive, diverse and ethical. Over 90% of factory workers of Ecoright are women; 10 of the 17 core team members are female. “We make sure our female workers are getting appropriate wages and training as well. Most of these workers are sole breadwinners of a family,” said Sood. The company also offers interest free loans to their workers' children. The vegan and animal cruelty-free company aims to launch work and travel bags in the upcoming months. It has also partnered with Disney and animated character Peanut to design globally loved quirky tote bags. “We aim to become a 100% solar-powered factory within the next 12-14 months with complete carbon offset from our products,” revealed Udit Sood. Founded by Sai Krishna V K &amp; Ajay P V, the Bengaluru-based company had earlier raised funding from Axilor, Speciale Invest, and Newfort Capital. “Today, we buy more online than we ever have, and it has only accelerated this year. Customers now require better visuals than ever before. Scapic is building visual technology that brings products to life using Augmented Reality and 3D. Advancements by the Scapic team in the field of AI, Computer Vision and AR have made this change possible,” said the founders in a statement. Flipkart’s reported $10 billion IPO plan will mean Walmart’s investment in the Indian e-commerce giant will double within 3 years

This investment has made Alteria Capital the biggest venture debt fund in the country. According to reports, it is also SIDBI’s single largest investment, as the government nodal agency pumped in as much as ₹160 crore. Alteria Capital was founded by Ajay Hattangdi and Vinod Murali who had earlier led Innoven Capital. The firm has so far invested in hyperlocal delivery startup Dunzo, electric bike startup Vogo, student accommodation startup Stanza Living among others. The firm also placed its bets on cricketer Virat Kohli’s apparel brand Wrogn. Meanwhile, ace entrepreneur and investor Binny Bansal has been on an investment spree. In July, he invested in fashion designer Masaba Gupta’s brand. In June, Bansal sold some of his shares in Flipkart for $76.4 million, according to filings sourced by paper.vc. That leaves him with a residual share of 3.52% in the company he co-founded. He made personal investments too, like in insurtech startup Acko and legal startup Spotdraft amongst others. Interestingly, earlier Bansal for his own fund had raised money from his co-investor in the round for Alteria Capital – Premji Foundation. Bansal formed 021 Capital with his financial adviser Sailesh Tulshan for which he had raised $32 million from Premji Foundation and a few former Flipkart colleagues.

Early this month, we have reported on <keyword id="351" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Yuvraj-Singh">Yuvraj Singh</keyword>’s decision to become an investor to encourage young entrepreneurs and now we have seasoned cricketer <keyword id="6354486" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Virat-Kohli">Virat Kohli</keyword> starting his own chain of gyms and fitness centres. 
 
Virat Kohli has also started his apparel brand Wrogn , which is being sold exclusively on Myntra.com. 
 As per a news report by The Economic Times, one of Kohli's partners in the venture, Satya Sinha, said the total investment to launch 75 centers in three years is around Rs 190 crores. The gyms will be launched under the brand name Chisel. The brand is jointly owned by Kohli, Chisel Fitness and CSE, the sister concern of <keyword id="979436" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Cornerstone-Sport-Entertainment">Cornerstone Sport &amp; Entertainment</keyword>, which is the agency that manages Kohli. "We will launch gyms of various sizes and with different facilities according to their locations. We are also in talks with international sports-based fitness experts to bring in their expertise," Sinha, director of Chisel Fitness, a Bangalore-based startup that specializes in corporate fitness told the ET. 
 
"The gyms are just a start. There are plans on the anvil to launch fitness inspired clothing lines and tech wearables in the future," Gaurav Marya, chairman of Franchise India, which is a commercial and marketing partner in this venture told the financial daily. 
 
The country's fitness industry comprising branded fitness chains and standalone gyms is pegged at around Rs 1,300 crore. 
 Earlier, Kohli had a minority stake valued at under Rs 1 crore a year in the FC Goa franchise where he was the co-owner. The right-hander had been mulling a foray into business ventures for a while now and the move comes after Indian ODI skipper M S Dhoni launched his line of gyms, SportsFit and <keyword id="2817820" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Delhi-Daredevils-player">Delhi Daredevils player</keyword> Yuvraj Singh invested an undisclosed amount as seed funding in a mobile phone-based beauty and wellness startup Vyomo. Even <keyword id="6405247" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Robin-Uthappa">Robin Uthappa</keyword> has co-founded a food startup iTiffin.
