Then there are the school picnics that also re-started at the fag end of the last academic year — bringing good news for listed company <keyword id="441947" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="wonderla" source="Orion">Wonderla</keyword> Holidays. Apart from droves of school kids, the amusement park and resort company also gained from corporate events, general crowd and more as India went on a revenge-travel mode — pushing its footfalls to a record high of 33 lakh in FY23. That’s 39% higher than the pre-pandemic level. Unsurprisingly, the stock turned a multibagger in the last one year, with around 150% returns, as per data on BSE. A year of consolidation &amp; beyond <keyword id="954858" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="arun-k-chittilappilly" source="Orion">Arun K Chittilappilly</keyword>, managing director of Wonderla Holidays told CNBC in June that after a stellar growth in FY23, he expects footfalls to grow moderately by 5-10% in FY24 — making it a year of consolidation. The company expects its ARPU, or average revenue per user, to grow at the same level as FY23 — at 10-12%. Market analysts, however, see a good run for the stock in the coming years for two reasons — its investments into new parks in Chennai and Odisha. It already has three parks — one each in Kochi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. “The company is also entering a new phase of growth with its Chennai and Odisha parks set to become operational in FY26. While the company has started capex on the Odisha park, it will also start capex on its Chennai Park as it has received the Local Body Tax waiver for 10 years for the park (excluding construction period of 2 years),” said a report by ICICI Securities. With an estimated operating cash flow of ₹360 crore over FY24-25, ICICI Securities believes that the company can comfortably fund incremental capex of ₹400 crore over the next two years on these new parks. Unlike most of its peers, the company, which suffered heavily from lockdowns and the pandemic lull, wasn’t hit as much financially. “Wonderla Holidays managed its cash flows very efficiently during the lull in the pandemic times without stressing the balance sheet by raising funds through debt. The company generated strong operating cash flows with low working capital requirement,” said a report by Sharekhan. Calling these two new parks as ‘incremental triggers’, ICICI Securities believes that Chennai can potentially generate revenue similar to Bengaluru while Odisha may generate 60% of Hyderabad/Kochi park revenue. Down with the events The company is also ramping up operations with extensive marketing and events like food festivals, events around Fathers’ day etc. It is targeting to launch at least two such events every month. “Marquee musical concerts, festivities and occasions continue to draw crowds with people gathering at large, with Wonderla as their preferred destination for events and making memories for lifetime. Such events are gaining over 3,000-5,000 footfalls per event per park and help in attracting walk-in crowds,” says Sharekhan. It’s also sprucing up its resort business that will bring in more weekend crowds and aid resort occupancies. It’s planning to add four new attractions — <keyword id="17931940" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="caribbean-whirl" source="Orion">Caribbean Whirl</keyword>, Mai Kinda Place, Bar by the Pool and Lawn at its Bengaluru Resort in July. The addition of the new wonders will help enhance the experience of its customers and help in improving resort occupancies during weekends and add incremental footfalls at parks – in addition to bringing in ticketing and non-ticketing revenue. Resort occupancy stood at 69% in FY23, which is much higher than the pre-pandemic level of 58% in FY20. Aided by a strong balance sheet, the company is set to chart robust growth in the years ahead, analysts believe, which leaves some juice yet to be squeezed out of this multibagger. "As part of the preventive measures against COVID-19, all amusement parks of the company will remain closed till 31st March 2020," the company said in a BSE filing. New Delhi, Mar 16 () Amusement park operator Wonderla Holidays on Monday said it has decided to temporarily close its Hyderabad park from 15-21 March due to the rising coronavirus scare in Telangana. "In view of the emerging situation in the state of Telangana, consequent to the reported coronavirus cases, the company has decided to temporarily close the Hyderabad park from 15-21 March, 2020," it said in a filing to BSE. The decision, it said, has been taken in accordance with the safety and pre-cautionary guidelines outlined by the state government to prevent and contain the spread of new coronavirus (Covid-19). A 46-year-old person from Telangana tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday, taking the total number of cases to three in the state, health department officials said. SID ANSANS

New Delhi, May 18 () Shares of multiplex and hotel operators on Monday cracked up to 14.5 per cent after the countrywide lockdown was further extended till May 31. Shares of INOX Leisure tumbled 14.49 per cent and those of PVR tanked 12.54 per cent on the BSE. Besides, Chalet Hotels plummeted 13.38 per cent, Indian Hotels Company Limited plunged 8.04 per cent, EIH Associated Hotels 5.83 per cent, Wonderla Holidays 4.91 per cent and Lemon Tree Hotels 4.78 per cent. The lockdown was first announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 24 for 21 days in a bid to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. It was first extended till May 3 and again till May 17. The charges for both parks combined are Rs 1,000 per adult, Rs 790 per child and Rs 390 for senior citizens above 60 years of age. 
 
Nicco Park, Kolkata Spread around 40 acres, Nicco Park is the first <keyword id="395849" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="amusement-park">amusement park</keyword> in the world to be certified with SA 8000 (Social Accountability) certification, the first in Asia to be certified with ISO 14001 (Environment Management System) and the first amusement park in India to be certified with ISO 9001 (Quality Management System). The combined entry charges for Main Park, Water Park are Rs 500 per head. 
MGM Dizzee World, Chennai 
 
For the hot and humid Chennai, MGM is a life saver in summers. They have pools, dry and water rides, a separate section for children, called MGM Mini Ghar, and rain-dance facilities. Visitors can also enjoy boating in one of the artificial lakes. For the tiny tots, a video game arcade is also situated inside the premises. Fun N Food Village, Gurgaon 
One of the oldest and well-known amusement park in the National Capital Region, Fun N Food Village offers 21 amusement rides, rain dance, water slides, water play areas and pools, other than snack joints and restaurants. The ticket rates from Monday to Saturday are Rs 1700 for couple entry, Rs 600 for child entry and Rs 1100 for single person. The revised rates for Sunday and Holidays are Rs 100 extra for single and couple entry, while the same for children’s entry.
