Pinckney, who was initially arrested by Kerala Police in 2013 along with two directors of the company, was held again on May 27 by the Andhra Pradesh police in connection with a complaint, alleging unethical circulation of money, filed against the company under PCMCS.<br />

He was arrested in Gurgaon and brought to Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh.<br />

Amcham said Amway is a direct-selling, fast-moving consumer goods company that uses multilevel marketing to sell its products through independent distributors. "These distributors earn their income only from the sale of products or from the sale of products their groups make. No commissions are made for recruiting new distributors into the business. Hence, compensation under Amway’s sale and marketing plan is based solely on the sale of products," it said.<br />

"The Act, in its present form, is unable to distinguish genuine direct-selling companies from pyramid or Ponzi schemes. Like other countries, India needs to amend this act and create a conducive legal environment for the Industry," said Amcham India executive director Ajay Singh.<br />

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>AP</span></p></div><p></p></div></div>In a <a href="http://conversationswithbillkristol.org/video/samuel-alito/?start=2075&amp;end=3350">candid new interview</a>, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has shed light on how America's highest court actually makes the decisions that often affect so many people.</p><p>Alito explained the seemingly mysterious process in a taped interview with <a href="http://www.weeklystandard.com/author/william-kristol">William Kristol, editor of the conservative Weekly Standard</a>. </p><p>Though it typically takes months for big decisions on cases like <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/supreme-court-gay-marriage-ruling-2015-6">gay marriage</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/king-v-burwell-supreme-court-decision-2015-6">healthcare</a> to come out, the Supreme Court's justices actually vote on cases the very week they're argued.</p><p>Here's how the process works, per Alito: The Friday after an oral argument, the justices will meet to talk about the cases from that week. Chief Justice John Roberts speaks first, explaining how he thinks the court will vote. The justices go around the table in order of seniority, and no justices may speak a second time until everybody has spoken once.</p><p>"We go around the table, and once we've made the complete circuit usually we'll know how the case is going to be decided and the basic rationale of the case," Alito said.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span><a href="https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Supreme_Court_US_2010.jpg">Wikimedia Commons</a></span></p></div><p></p></div></div>Alito added, "It is not an open-ended discussion, and it doesn't go on for an extended period of time. ... For better or worse, that's how it's done."</p><p>After the justices vote, the most senior justice in the majority assigns the opinion. That justice then circulates it to every justice for feedback. The dissents are circulated, as well. Sometimes, Alito acknowledged, justices change their minds after reading those dissents. </p><p>For example, it was widely reported that Chief Justice John Roberts <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/supreme-court-gay-marriage-ruling-2015-6">initially sided with conservatives</a> to gut President Barack Obama's signature healthcare <keyword id="6355470" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Law">law</keyword> back in 2012. Of course, he ultimately sided with the liberals and saved the law. Alito doesn't appear to be a fan of flip-flopping.</p><p>"Occasionally, a decision will flip, you know, maybe once a term or so," Alito said. "<span>Something that was five to four one way ends up being five to four the other way. Someone who was in the majority reconsiders after reading the dissent, thinking about the case ... Many Founding Fathers Were Shockingly Young When The Declaration Of Independence Was Signed In 1776

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Dylan Roof has confessed to the shooting and killing of nine people earlier this week at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, Fox news <a href="http://myfox8.com/2015/06/19/charleston-shooting-suspect-dylan-roof-confesses-to-killing-9-people/">reports</a>. </p><p>One official reportedly told CNN that Roof, who is white, told investigators that he wanted to start a race war.</p><p>Roof bought the .45-caliber handgun last April that he used in the shooting at the historic African-American church, CNN also said, citing two law enforcement officials.</p><p>A former friend who had reconnected with the man accused of a shooting massacre inside a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina, said Dylann Storm Roof had become an avowed racist.</p><p>Joey Meek reconnected with Roof a few weeks ago and said that while they got drunk together on vodka, Roof began complaining that "blacks were taking over the world" and that "someone needed to do something about it for the white race."</p><p>The shooting occured during a Bible study at The Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston on Wednesday night, ripping out a piece of South Carolina's civic heart and adding to the ever-growing list of America's racial casualties.</p><p>Police captured Roof in Shelby, North Carolina, after a motorist spotted him at a traffic light on her way to work. His apprehension ended an intense, hours-long manhunt.</p><p>Roof waived extradition and was back in Charleston on Thursday night, authorities said, with a bond hearing pending. On Friday, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley told NBC's "Today" show the shooter should get the death penalty.</p><p>"We will absolutely will want him to have the death penalty," Haley said.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Charleston officials announced a prayer vigil for Friday evening. The city's mayor described the shooting at the church as an act of "pure, pure concentrated evil."</p><p>The victims included a state senator who doubled as the church's minister, three other pastors, a regional library manager, a high school coach and speech therapist, a government administrator, a college enrollment counselor and a recent college graduate - six women and three men who felt called to open their church to all.</p><p>President Barack Obama called the tragedy yet another example of damage wreaked in America by guns.</p><p>NAACP President and CEO Cornell William Brooks said "there is no greater coward than a criminal who enters a house of God and slaughters innocent people." Others bemoaned the loss to a church that has served as a bastion of black power for 200 years, despite efforts by white supremacists to wipe it out.</p><p>"Of all cities, in Charleston, to have a horrible hateful person go into the church and kill people there to pray and worship with each other is something that is beyond any comprehension and is not explained," said Mayor Joseph P. Riley Jr. "We are going to put our arms around that church and that church family."</p><p>Surveillance video showed the gunman entering the church Wednesday night, and Charleston County Coroner Rae Wilson said he initially didn't appear threatening.</p><p>"The suspect entered the group and was accepted by them, as they believed that he wanted to join them in this Bible study," she said. Then, "he became very aggressive and violent."</p><p>Meek called the FBI after recognizing Roof in the surveillance footage, down to the stained sweatshirt he wore while playing Xbox videogames in Meek's home the morning of the attack.</p><p>"I didn't THINK it was him. I KNEW it was him," Meek told The Associated Press after being interviewed by investigators.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Meek said during their reunion a few weeks ago, Roof told him that he had used birthday money from his parents to buy a .45-caliber Glock pistol and that he had "a plan." He didn't say what the plan was, but Meek said it scared him enough that he took the gun out of Roof's car and hid it in his house until the next day.</p><p>It's not clear whether Roof had any connection to the 16 white supremacist organizations operating in South Carolina, but he appears to be a "disaffected white supremacist," based on his Facebook page, said Richard Cohen, president of Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Alabama.</p><p>On his Facebook page, Roof displayed the flags of defeated white-ruled regimes, posing with a Confederate flags plate on his car and wearing a jacket with stitched-on flag patches from apartheid-era South Africa and Rhodesia, which is now black-led Zimbabwe.</p><p>His previous record includes misdemeanor drug and trespassing charges.</p><p>Spilling blood inside a black church - especially "Mother Emanuel," founded in 1816 - evoked painful memories nationwide, a reminder that black churches so often have been the targets of racist violence.</p><p>A church founder, Denmark Vesey, was hanged after trying to organize a slave revolt in 1822, and white landowners burned the church in revenge, leaving parishioners to worship underground until after the Civil War. The congregation rebuilt and grew stronger, eventually winning campaigns for voting rights and political representation.</p><p>Its lead pastor, state Sen. Clementa Pinckney - among the dead - recalled his church's history in a 2013 sermon, saying "we don't see ourselves as just a place where we come to worship, but as a beacon and as a bearer of the culture."</p><p>"What the church is all about," Pinckney said, is the "freedom to be fully what God intends us to be and have equality in the sight of God. And sometimes you got to make noise to do that. Reports: Suspected South Carolina shooter confessed to police

<p>In a far more detailed description of military radar plotting than has been publicly revealed, two sources told Reuters an unidentified aircraft that investigators suspect was missing Flight MH370 appeared to be following a commonly used navigational route when it was last spotted early on Saturday, northwest of Malaysia.</p>
<p>That course - headed into the Andaman Sea and towards the Bay of Bengal in the Indian Ocean - could only have been set deliberately, either by flying the Boeing 777-200ER jet manually or by programming the auto-pilot.</p>
<p>A third investigative source said inquiries were focusing more on the theory that someone who knew how to fly a plane deliberately diverted the flight hundreds of miles off its scheduled course from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.</p>
<p>"What we can say is we are looking at sabotage, with hijack still on the cards," said the source, a senior Malaysian police official.</p>
<p>One of the most baffling mysteries in the history of modern aviation remains unsolved after nearly a week.</p>
<p>The latest radar evidence is consistent with the expansion of the search for the aircraft to the west of Malaysia, possibly as far as the Indian Ocean.</p>
<p>There has been no trace of the plane nor any sign of wreckage as the navies and military aircraft of more than a dozen countries scour the seas across Southeast Asia.</p>
<p>Malaysian Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said he could not confirm the last heading of the plane or if investigators were focusing on sabotage.</p>
<p>"A normal investigation becomes narrower with time ... as new information focuses the search, but this is not a normal investigation," he told a news conference. "In this case, the information has forced us to look further and further afield."</p>
<p>Investigators were still looking at "four or five" possibilities, including a diversion that was intentional or under duress, or an explosion, he said. Police would search the pilot's home if necessary and were still investigating all 239 passengers and crew on the plane, he added.</p>
<h3>INDIAN OCEAN "BIGGEST CHALLENGE"</h3>
<p>If the jetliner did stray into the Indian Ocean, a vast expanse with depths of more than 7,000 meters (23,000 feet), the task faced by searchers would become dramatically more difficult. Winds and currents could shift any surface debris tens of nautical miles within hours, dramatically widening the search area with each passing day.</p>
<p>"Ships alone are not going to get you that coverage, helicopters are barely going to make a dent in it and only a few countries fly P-3s (long-range search aircraft)," William Marks, spokesman for the U.S. Seventh Fleet, told Reuters.</p>
<p>"So this massive expanse of water space will be the biggest challenge."</p>
<p>The U.S. Navy was sending an advanced P-8A Poseidon plane to help search the Strait of Malacca, a busy sealane separating the Malay Peninsula from the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It had already deployed a NavyP-3 Orion aircraft to those waters.</p>
<p>U.S. defense officials told Reuters that the U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer, USS Kidd, was heading to the Strait of Malacca, answering a request from the Malaysian government. The Kidd had been searching the areas south of the Gulf of Thailand, along with the destroyer USS Pinckney.</p>
<p>"It's my understanding that based on some new information that's not necessarily conclusive - but new information - an additional search area may be opened in the Indian Ocean," White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters in Washington.</p>
<p>Carney did not specify the nature of the new information.</p>
<p>Satellites picked up faint electronic pulses from the aircraft after it went missing on Saturday, but the signals gave no immediate information about where the jet was heading and little else about its fate, two sources close to the investigation said on Thursday.</p>
<p>U.S. experts are still examining the data to see if any information about its last location could be extracted, a source close to the investigation told Reuters. Malaysia's civil aviation chief confirmed on Friday the government was working with U.S. investigators to establish if there was any satellite information that could help locate the airliner.</p>
<p>LAST RADAR SIGHTING</p>
<p>The last sighting of the aircraft on civilian radar screens came shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, less than an hour after take-off. It was flying as scheduled across the mouth of the Gulf of Thailand on the eastern side of peninsular Malaysia, heading towards Beijing.</p>
<p>However, Malaysia's air force chief said on Wednesday that an aircraft that could have been the missing plane was plotted on military radar at 2:15 a.m., 200 miles northwest of Penang Island off Malaysia's west coast.</p>
<p>This position marks the limit of Malaysia's military radar in that part of the country, a fourth source familiar with the investigation told Reuters.</p>
<p>Malaysia says it has asked neighboring countries for their radar data, but has not confirmed receiving the information. Indonesian and Thai authorities said on Friday they had not received an official request for such data from Malaysia.</p>
<p>The fact that the plane - if it was MH370 - had lost contact with air traffic control and was invisible to civilian radar suggested someone on board had turned off its communication systems, the first two sources said.</p>
<p>They also gave new details on the direction in which the unidentified aircraft was heading - following aviation corridors identified on maps used by pilots as N571 and P628 - routes taken by commercial planes flying from Southeast Asia to the Middle East or Europe.</p>
<p>Hishammuddin said it remained unclear if that aircraft was MH370. "We need to get verification and we are working very closely with the experts," he said.</p>
<p>MILITARY DEPLOYMENT GROWS</p>
<p>Ships and aircraft are now combing a vast area that had already been widened to cover both sides of the Malay Peninsula and the Andaman Sea.</p>
<p>An already difficult search task has been complicated in some areas by a choking haze caused by burning forest and farmland that has enveloped much of Malaysia and spilled into the Strait of Malacca. The haze, exacerbated by a prolonged dry spell, has reached hazardous levels in several spots.</p>
<p>"The haze will affect the search and rescue operations for sure. The visibility at the ground level has dropped to less than 3 km (1.9 miles)," Amirzudi Hashim, a senior meteorologist at the National Weather Center, told Reuters.</p>
<p>India had deployed ships, planes and helicopters from the remote Andaman and Nicobar Islands, at the juncture of the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea, an Indian military spokesman, Harmeet Singh, said on Friday.</p>
<p>Two Dornier aircraft were searching the land mass of the Andaman and Nicobar islands, a total area of 720 km by 52 km, Singh said.</p>
<p>China, which had more than 150 citizens on board the missing plane, has deployed four warships, four coastguard vessels, eight aircraft and trained 10 satellites on a wide search area. Chinese media have described the ship deployment as the largest Chinese rescue fleet ever assembled.</p>
<p>The Boeing 777 has one of the best safety records of any commercial aircraft in service. Its only previous fatal crash came on July 6 last year when Asiana Airlines Flight 214 struck a seawall with its undercarriage on landing in San Francisco. Three people died.</p>
