<ul><li><keyword id="745666" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="cheetahs" source="Orion">Cheetahs</keyword> were once declared extinct in <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> seven decades ago, and now they’re coming back, thanks to Namibia. </li><li>Cheetahs are the fastest predator in the world, and experts suggest they can help boost biodiversity by hunting down herbivores. </li><li>India’s grasslands have declined 31% in the past decade, and the arrival of cheetahs could rejuvenate them. </li></ul>India, the land of tigers, is ready to receive five African female and three male Cheetahs aboard a blue-orange tiger illustrated plane from <keyword id="288933" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="windhoek" source="Orion">Windhoek</keyword>, capital of Namibia. They will reach the Kuno-Palpur National Park in <keyword id="6355554" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="madhya-pradesh" source="Orion">Madhya Pradesh</keyword> on September 17 after making an hour-long pit stop at Jaipur, Rajasthan. Among these are two female <keyword id="54781" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="cheetah" source="Orion">Cheetah</keyword> besties and one male sibling duo. All Cheetahs are under 5.5 years in age. The creatures will not be served food on the 11-hour plane ride as it can make them nauseous. As per a book written by Divyabhanusinh, ‘The End of a Trail – The Cheetah in India’, Emperor Akbar alone owned 1,000 cheetahs. In fact, the word Cheetah itself has an Indian origin, चीता (ćītā). This originates from the Sanskrit word – चित्रय (Chitra-ya), meaning ‘spotted’ or ‘painted’. The cost of Project Cheetah The Project Cheetah had originally tried to bring back Asian cheetahs from Iran. However, the country turned down India’s request. After many negotiations, Namibia, which has the largest population of Cheetahs in the world, agreed to India’s request. The African Cheetah coming from Namibia may not be the same that went extinct from India, but they have the same genes, according to a report by PTI. India's top public sector company <keyword id="6356834" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="indian-oil-corporation" source="Orion">Indian Oil Corporation</keyword> or IOC has agreed to give ₹50 crore towards funding the ambitious trans-continental relocation of Cheetahs from Africa to India, PTI reported. IOC has signed a memorandum of understanding with the <keyword id="49041" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="national-tiger-conservation-authority" source="Orion">National Tiger Conservation Authority</keyword> (NTCA) for meeting two-thirds of the ₹75 crore project cost. Under this project, a source population of 15-20 cheetahs will be flown in from Namibia and South Africa and will be introduced at Kuno National Park, Madhya Pradesh. The project would help with cheetah habitat management and protection, ecology development, staff training and its veterinary healthcare. Why are cheetahs being brought to India? Cheetahs are at the top of the food chain and are natural predators. They control the health of biodiversity and the tropical landscape of a country by hunting down herbivores like antelopes. Excess of plant-eating herbivores leads to ‘overgrazing’, which shrinks the size of grasslands. “Biodiversity and climate change are two sides of the same coin and Cheetahs are grassland creatures. Earlier, the entire Deccan plateau of India boasted of them but since grasslands are shrinking, it impacts the number of cheetahs,” said Sunil. Cheetahs, experts hope, will boost the health of grasslands in India. According to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) data, India has already lost 31% of grasslands within a decade. Cheetahs are coming back – this can boost the health of India’s shrinking grasslands

If you’re staying in Mumbai, it’s time to feel motivated in your pocket. Well, as per Mercer's Cost of Living Survey 2015, Mumbai has crawled up 66 places to become the 74th most expensive city in the world, the first in India. 
 As per a news report in The Economic Times, Luanda, the capital of <keyword id="36463" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Angola">Angola</keyword>, has been rated the world's costliest city to live in, for the third consecutive year by Mercer's Cost of Living Survey 2015. Hong Kong (2), Zurich (3), <keyword id="6356662" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Singapore">Singapore</keyword> (4) and <keyword id="13027" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Geneva">Geneva</keyword> (5) top the list of most expensive cities for expatriates. Asian cities dominate the top 10 costliest cities rankings along with major cities in Switzerland in the report. 
 
The city, says the report, has witnessed higher inflation over the last one year as compared to other metros, higher cost of fuel, transportation, increased prices of food items, home services and rentals, impacting the overall cost of living. Mumbai is followed by New Delhi (132) and Chennai (157), which rose in the ranking by 25 and 28 spots, respectively. Bangalore (183) and Kolkata (193), the least expensive Indian cities, climbed in the ranking, as well. 
 Mumbai is ranked higher and more expensive than cities like <keyword id="95097" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Dallas">Dallas</keyword> (77), Munich (87), Luxembourg (94), <keyword id="12970" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Frankfurt">Frankfurt</keyword> (98) and Vancouver (119) of the world. The world's least expensive cities for expatriates, according to Mercer's survey, are Bishkek (207), <keyword id="288933" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="WINDHOEK">Windhoek</keyword> (206), and Karachi (205). 
 
"With a large number of Indian multinational organisations progressively expanding their footprint abroad, 85 per cent of multinationals are expecting expatriate assignments to increase over the next two years to address business needs. Indian companies have been bullish on sending employees abroad," said Ruchika Pal, India Practice Leader, Global Mobility at Mercer in a release. 
 
"Organisations continue to recognise the importance of international assignees. What they need to evaluate even more closely is the impact of political and economic factors such as currency stability, inflation, and political instability, to balance cost versus competitiveness of the expatriate's compensation package," added Ms. Pal. 
 Across continents, countries with the highest expected increase in the number of Indian international assignto liees are South <keyword id="12925" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Africa">Africa</keyword>, UAE, UK and USA. 
 
The survey includes 207 cities across five continents and measures the comparative cost of more than 200 items in each location, including housing, transportation, food, clothing, household goods, and entertainment. Currency fluctuations and the impact of inflation on goods and services have influenced the cost of expatriate programs as well as the city rankings.

Twenty-four of the 25 villages in <keyword id="6355554" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="madhya-pradesh" source="Orion">Madhya Pradesh</keyword>'s Kuno National Park (<keyword id="1490338" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="knp" source="Orion">KNP</keyword>), where Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="narendra-modi" source="Orion">Narendra Modi</keyword> will release the first batch of eight cheetahs from Namibia on September 17, have been completely resettled, Union Environment Ministry officials said on Monday. The lone remaining Bagcha village with 148 houses will be resettled before September 17 and all preparations have been made in this regard. "The KNP, which spans across 740 square kilometers, has only one village on its periphery at present. The process to resettle the village is underway and it will be completed before September 17," an official said. "Twenty-four of the 25 villages have been completely resettled over the last 10-15 years. They have been brought into the mainstream," he said. Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav told reporters that the Madhya Pradesh government will give "revenue village" status to these villages. A revenue village is a small administrative region with defined borders. One revenue village may contain many hamlets. A village administrative officer is the head officer of a revenue village. Yadav also said the state government will set up skill development centres in the area. There is no record of free ranging cheetah attacking humans. However, it can attack and kill small livestock such as goats, sheep and calves. Village communities have been made aware of it, officials said. In case the cheetahs kill any domestic animal, the government will give adequate compensation to the affected caretaker, they said. A chartered flight carrying eight cheetahs, five females and three males, will depart from Namibia's capital Windhoek on September 16 and reach Jaipur airport on the morning of September 17, which is also Modi's birthday. They will then be flown to the KNP in helicopters which will take 40-42 minutes. At the KNP, the prime minister will release the cheetahs, aged four to six years, in smaller quarantine enclosures where they will kept for 30 days. They will then be released in a six-sq km predator-proof holding facility with nine compartments. A senior official said facilities created at the KNP for the reintroduction of cheetah are "10 times better" than those in Namibia and <keyword id="6355117" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="south-africa" source="Orion">South Africa</keyword>. Yadav on Sunday took stock of the preparations made at the KNP for the ambitious programme which is the world's first inter-continental translocation project of a large carnivore like cheetah. Yadav said India aims to acquire 50 African cheetahs over the next five years. India and Namibia had in July signed a pact for the reintroduction of cheetahs to the country. A pact will soon be signed with South Africa to bring 12 cheetahs. Namibia and South Africa are home to more than a third of the world's 7,000 cheetahs. The fastest land animal in the world was declared extinct in India in 1952. The cheetah is the only large carnivore that got completely wiped out from India, mainly due to over-hunting and habitat loss. Cheetah reintroduction: All but one village in Kuno national park resettled, say officials

If the UN approves the request, <keyword id="87" type="COUNTRY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Germany">Germany</keyword>'s beer will be protected by <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/19-new-unesco-world-heritage-sites-2013-7">UNESCO</a>, the same agency that looks after The Great Wall of China, the Grand Canyon and Egypt's pyramids. 
"Germany has an unchallenged reputation as a beer nation," Hans-Georg Eils, the president of the German Brewers Association, told NBC News. 
The country has a strict beer purity law, called Reinheitsgebot, set down by Bavarian Dukes about 500 years ago. They allow only four ingredients in the brewing process: water, malt, hops, and yeast. 
In UNESCO's definition of intangible cultural heritage, the agency includes "the knowledge and skills to produce traditional crafts."
Marc-Oliver Huhnholz, a spokesman for the German Brewers Association, said to NBC News that German beer "is really a special craftsmanship." 
"From just four ingredients, we can make so many different tasting brews," Huhnholz said.
The German brewing tradition is known the world over. In Namibia, a former German colony, Namibia's Windhoek Lager stamps every bottle with the word "Reinheitsgebot" to signify the purity of the beer that comes from the German method.
