with or without the heatsink for the 1TB and 2TB variants, while the 4TB variant is only available without a heatsink. As expected, the heat sink adds up a considerable amount of size and weight to the SSD. While the 2TB SSD without the heatsink measures 80mm x 22mm x 2.38mm and weighs 7.5 grams, the heatsink variant measures 80mm x 23.4mm x 8.8mm and weighs 24 grams. I tested the 2TB variant with a heatsink, which is quite bulky and the circuit board has been encased in metal. The heatsink comes with holes on the sides, allowing air to circulate between them and thereby increasing the surface area. This offers improved cooling, which comes in handy during gaming. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Software and performance" comment="subhead" text="Software and performance">Software and performance</cmsannotation> The WD Black SN850X can be updated and optimised with the company’s Dashboard management software that can be downloaded from its website. In addition to displaying the SSD’s information and health, the tool also offers an option to update the firmware and control the SSD. Western Digital has also offered the Game Mode 2.0 with the SN850X. This offers adaptive thermal management, predictive loading and overhead balancing. The application is easy to use and while there is not much to meddle with, it’s good to have the application. Coming to performance, the WD Black SN850X SSD comes with a NAND upgrade, which enables higher sequential-read speeds and an increased sequential-write speed. The SSD’s TLC flash memory chips have been upgraded to 112-layer chips, an upgrade from the SN850’s 96-layer TLC chips. The sequential-read speed has been upgraded from 7,000MB/s to 7,300MB/s and the sequential-write speed has been upgraded from 5,300MB/s to 6,300MB/s. During my testing, it offered a sequential read speed of 7363.74 MB/s and a sequential-write speed of 6690.06 MB/s on the CrystalDiskMark. Thermal management has also received a boost with the SN850X and during extensive gaming, the SSD hovers around 53-55 degrees, which is good. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Verdict" comment="subhead" text="Verdict">Verdict</cmsannotation> The WD Black SN850X 2TB SSD is an excellent option for those looking for a premium gaming SSD. You can pick between the heatsink and non-heatsink version depending on your motherboard. At the same time, this is an expensive product, which may be too expensive for some. If you are willing to splurge a bit, you will not go wrong with the SN850X. He said that the main trigger for this divergent trend in equity and debt is the high valuation in the Indian equity market and the rising bond yields in the U.S. "In the last fortnight of January, FPIs were massive sellers in financials with a sell figure of Rs 31,261 crores. This explains the underperformance of Bank Nifty in general and some leading private sector banks in particular," he said. He said that for long-term investors, there is value in banking stocks now. Industry players on Monday hailed the government's move to enhance the scheme outlay of Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (<keyword id="19912965" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="fame" source="keywords">FAME</keyword>) <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="keywords">India</keyword> <keyword id="20527557" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="phase-ii" source="keywords">Phase II</keyword>, saying it will enhance infrastructure, foster widespread adoption and longevity of electric vehicles across the country. The Ministry of Heavy Industries announced that the scheme outlay of FAME India Phase II has been enhanced from Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 11,500 crore under FAME India scheme Phase II in order to give a further push to clean mobility in the country. The ministry also said that it is a "fund and term limited scheme", which means that the subsidies for demand incentive will be eligible for e-two-wheelers, e-three-wheelers, and e-four-wheelers sold till March 31, 2024 or till the time the funds are available, whichever is earlier. "We applaud the government's decision to enhance the FAME India Scheme Phase II outlay to Rs 11,500 crore. This timely boost in investment is a shot in the arm for the EV industry, accelerating its growth trajectory and paving the way for a cleaner, more sustainable future," VG Anil, CEO of EV battery manufacturer Arenq. The main objective of the scheme is to encourage faster adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles by way of offering upfront incentives on purchase of EV and also by establishing a necessary charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. "This Rs 1,500 crore boost sends a clear message: India is serious about electrifying its mobility landscape. Crisis-hit <keyword id="19987725" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="spicejet" source="keywords">SpiceJet</keyword> plans to hand out pink slips to at least 1,000 employees in the coming days as the airline works to significantly reduce costs and streamline operations of its depleted aircraft fleet, officials said on Monday. Faced with financial woes, legal battles and other headwinds, the no-frills carrier might ask more staff to leave as there is excess manpower now compared to the number of planes in service. A final decision on the quantum of layoffs is expected this week, one of the officials in the know said. When contacted, a SpiceJet spokesperson said the airline has initiated several measures, including manpower rationalisation, for achieving profitable growth but did not provide any numbers. The airline has around 9,000 employees and is now looking at reducing the strength by 10-15 per cent, the official said, adding that layoffs are necessary to reduce the overall costs and annual savings could be up to Rs 100 crore. A reduction of 15 per cent would mean around 1,350 people will lose their jobs. The second official in the know said that layoffs are expected across departments and the final list is being prepared. People from the management and consultancy are working on chalking out the contours of letting staff leave, and all the departments have been asked to give their inputs, the official added. There was no official comment from SpiceJet on the proposed job cuts. The second official explained that the airline has stopped operations on certain RCS (Regional Connectivity Scheme) routes and at those stations, there is excess manpower, especially staff with lower salaries. Relocating such people will be a challenge, the official noted. Currently, SpiceJet has a fleet of little over 30 aircraft apart from 10 planes that are on wet lease. "As part of our turnaround and cost-cutting strategy, following the recent fund infusion, SpiceJet has initiated several measures, including manpower rationalisation, aimed at achieving profitable growth and positioning ourselves to capitalise on the opportunities in the Indian aviation industry. "Through this initiative alone, we anticipate an annual saving of up to Rs 100 crore," the airline spokesperson said in a statement. During a meeting with the airline's senior officials last month, SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director <keyword id="19916067" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ajay-singh" source="keywords">Ajay Singh</keyword> emphasised the importance of judicious spending and that he will personally oversee all major expenditures. The carrier will prioritise fleet upgrades, enhance on-time performance and cost-cutting measures will be implemented to streamline operations, according to an internal note last month. SpiceJet, which has undergone multiple ownership changes since inception and is currently helmed by Ajay Singh, is in the process of raising funds from various investors. On January 26, the carrier announced that it has received Rs 744 crore as the first tranche of the total Rs 2,250 crore proposed to be raised through the issuance of securities on a preferential basis. There were reports that there has been a delay in raising the requisite funds. The airline has also availed funds worth around Rs 1,000 crore under the government's Emergency <keyword id="20097541" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="credit-line-guarantee-scheme" source="keywords">Credit Line Guarantee Scheme</keyword> (ECLGS) and Singh has committed to infuse Rs 500 crore. It measures 31.3 x 23.3 x 1.79 cm and weighs just 1.63 kg, which is quite good for a gaming laptop. This makes it easy to carry around the laptop with you. The Intel Core Ultra 7 155H is a new Meteor Lake chipset from the company. The laptop is available in a single variant with 16GB LPDDR5X 7467 MHz RAM and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe TLC M.2 SSD. I tested the laptop with several games, including Starfield, The Finals and Alan Wake 2. The laptop was able to handle these games without any issues while playing in medium settings. Coming to the battery, the HP Omen Transcend 14 is equipped with a 71Wh battery. The small battery, in line with the device’s lightweight design, results in an average battery life. Like most gaming laptops, the battery is one of the strongest points of the device. I tried Call of Duty: Mobile on the device at 60 FPS and was able to handle the game smoothly, without any stutters. The Realme 12 Pro 5G is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support, just like its predecessor.
