Billionaire <keyword id="19929098" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="gautam-adani" source="keywords">Gautam Adani</keyword>'s group will supply <keyword id="19914923" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="clean-energy" source="keywords">clean energy</keyword> to power Google's cloud services and operations in India, the two firms said on Thursday. <keyword id="19955648" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="Adani-Group" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Adani Group" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Adani Group">Adani group</keyword> will supply 61.4 megawatt of electricity from a new <keyword id="21342349" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="solar-wind-hybrid-project" source="keywords">solar-wind hybrid project</keyword> located at its 30 gigawatt (GW) Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat. Google powers most of its cloud operations and services through electricity procured from the grid and is planning to run the entire operations on clean energy by 2030. Adani is expected to start commercial operations in the third quarter of 2025. At the '<keyword id="23413952" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Google-for-India" source="keywords">Google for India</keyword>' event, the search giant also announced a partnership with CleanMax for sourcing 125.4 MW of clean energy to power its offices and cloud regions in India. Of the contracted volumes, 66 MW solar energy will come from Rajasthan and 59.4 MW wind energy from Karantaka. "These projects are expected to start commercial operations in Q4 2025 and will deliver <keyword id="22243112" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="carbon-free-energy" source="keywords">carbon-free energy</keyword> to the grid where Google operates offices and cloud regions in India," Google said. While Google made the announcement at the 'Google for India' event here, the Adani Group gave details in a statement. "Through this partnership Adani will supply clean energy from a new solar-wind hybrid project located in the world's largest renewable energy plant at Khavda, Gujarat. This new project is expected to start commercial operations in the third quarter of 2025," the Adani group statement said. This innovative collaboration will help advance Google's 24/7 carbon-free energy goal by ensuring cloud services and operations in India are supported by clean energy and thereby contribute to the <keyword id="20289318" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sustainable-growth" source="keywords">sustainable growth</keyword> of Google in India. Adani had previously announced plans to set up data centres run on clean energy. It had in October 2022 leased 4.64 lakh square feet of space at its data centre in Noida to Raiden Infotech, an entity of Google.

<keyword id="20185535" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="automobile-exports" source="keywords">Automobile exports</keyword> from <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="India" source="keywords">India</keyword> rose 15.5 per cent year-on-year in the June quarter with all verticals, barring three-wheelers, recording <keyword id="19910261" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="growth" source="keywords">growth</keyword> in <keyword id="20103884" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shipments" source="keywords">shipments</keyword>, according to the latest SIAM data. Overall shipments stood at 11,92,577 units in the first quarter the current fiscal year, as compared with 10,32,449 units in the same period of the last fiscal. <keyword id="20163833" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="passenger-vehicle" source="keywords">Passenger vehicle</keyword> exports stood at 1,80,483 units in the first quarter, registering a jump of 19 per cent over 1,52,156 units in the same period last year. <keyword id="19909974" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki" source="keywords">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> India led the space with shipments of 69,962 units in the period under review. It exported 62,857 units in the first quarter of the 2023-24 fiscal. <keyword id="20190176" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai-Motor" source="keywords">Hyundai Motor</keyword> India exported 42,600 units in the April-June period. It had shipped 35,100 units in the same period last year. <keyword id="22405152" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="two-wheeler-exports" source="keywords">Two-wheeler exports</keyword> stood at 9,23,148 units in the first quarter, up 17 per cent as against 7,91,316 units in the year-ago period. <keyword id="20032571" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="commercial-vehicle" source="keywords">Commercial vehicle</keyword> shipments rose 8 per cent year-on-year to 15,741 units in the first quarter as compared with 14,625 units a year earlier. Three-wheeler shipments, however, saw a drop of 3 per cent year-on-year to 71,281 units in the April-June period this year as against 73,360 units in the year-ago period. SIAM President SIAM Vinod Aggarwal said it is a good sign for the industry that exports have started doing well. "I think that's a very good sign that exports seem to have bottomed out, especially in the commercial vehicle segment... we have started seeing the growth from the first quarter this year," he noted. Till last year, there was a huge drop in the export volume of trucks and buses, he added. "But <keyword id="20501879" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Q1" source="keywords">Q1</keyword> has been good even for two-wheelers and passenger vehicles. We are very positive that exports have started to recover," Aggarwal said. Automobile exports from India had declined 5.5 per cent in FY24 due to the monetary crisis in various overseas markets. Overall exports stood at 45,00,492 units in the last fiscal year as compared with 47,61,299 units in FY23.

Automobile exports from India rise 15.5% in Q1

New Delhi [India], May 24 (ANI): <keyword id="21790772" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indias-data-centre-industry" source="Orion">India's data centre industry</keyword> to attract an investment of USD 5.7 billion by 2026 amid the growing demand for <keyword id="19899640" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="AI" source="keywords">AI</keyword> (<keyword id="107950" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="artificial-intelligence" source="Orion">Artificial Intelligence</keyword>), says a report by real estate and investment management company, JLL. The report highlights that India's <keyword id="13391374" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="data-centre-industry" source="Orion">data centre industry</keyword> will add 791 MW capacity by 2026 and this expansion will lead to a demand of 10 million sq. ft of real state space. "The <keyword id="126804" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="data-centre" source="Orion">Data Centre</keyword> (DC) industry in India is set to witness remarkable growth, with projections of adding 791 MW capacity by 2026. This expansion will drive demand for 10 million sq. ft. of real estate space, attracting investments worth USD 5.7 billion" said the report. A data center is a facility that centralises an organisation's IT operations and equipment to store, process and transfer data and applications. The report highlights that growth in computing power and the resulting new applications are expected to drive strong demand for DC industry over the medium term. The expected demand of the Indian data centre industry to reach 650-800 MW during 2024-26. The surge in demand for data centres is primarily fuelled by the increasing adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The report points out that Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), who essentially offer IT infrastructure systems primarily for data storage and computing power accessible through the Internet, have realigned their requirements to factor in AI-led demand. The CSPs have also announced higher investments to scale up AI-led growth. "The exponential growth in processing power and data volumes, driven by AI, necessitates the development of new data centres capable of meeting energy, processing, and cooling needs. The anticipated expansion and progression of diverse AI disciplines are projected to create additional demand for data centres, expanding their capacity requirements and advancing their capabilities" said Rachit Mohan, Head, Data Centre Advisory, India, JLL. According to the report in the second half of 2023, there was a 12 per cent increase in absorption to 81 MW compared to 72 MW during the same period last year. This growth can be attributed to cloud service providers (CSP) gaining momentum after a brief hiatus during the first half of 2023. In Mumbai, absorption nearly doubled during this period as CSPs renewed their pace of absorption. "India is poised to be the third-largest economy, with a projected USD 5 trillion GDP by 2027 with digital economy contribution of around 20 per cent. This digital expansion is anticipated to propel the growth of India's data centre industry, projected to increase from 853 MW in 2023 to 1,645 MW by 2026," said Dr. Samantak Das, Chief Economist and Head of Research &amp; REIS, India, JLL. There was a lower supply addition of 75 MW during H2 2023 as the available supply from the first half was utilised to meet the demand, resulting in tighter vacancy levels of 5.5 per cent. With a large user market, talented workforce, and thriving startup ecosystem, India presents a significant opportunity to emerge as a global data hub, driven by sustainable practices. The country's DC sector expanded from 350 MW in 2019 to 854 MW in 2023, in line with the increasing digital usage trends.

Amid growing demand for AI, India's Data Centre boom to drive USD 5.7 billion investments by 2026: JLL

The domestic <keyword id="17386539" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="commercial-vehicle-industry-volumes" source="Orion">commercial vehicle industry volumes</keyword> are expected to grow by 7-10 per cent in FY2024, supported by replacement demand, pick-up in mining, infrastructure construction activities and overall healthy fleet utilisation levels, rating firm Icra said on Thursday. This is despite the 5 per cent year-on-year and 41 per cent sequential contraction in volumes in April 2023, it noted. The growth in FY2024 would follow a year of healthy demand in FY2023, wherein the industry volumes expanded by more than 33 per cent, supported by a favourable base, as well as a healthy pick-up in macroeconomic activity, Icra said. The scrappage policy, which was announced in March 2021, has been implemented from April 1, 2023, and is likely to contribute to the growth of new commercial vehicle sales, it added. "The major impact of the scrappage policy is expected in the CV (Commercial Vehicle) segment, especially passenger carriers, as the usage of other vehicles such as two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, etc. beyond 15 years would be limited," Icra Corporate Ratings Vice President &amp; Co Group Head Kinjal Shah stated. What the latest inflation data means for interest rates

market leader despite a decline in shipments. The company shipped 9.23 lakh units in Q1 2024, down from 10.12 lakh units in Q1 2023, recording an 8.8% decline. While HP continued to lead in both desktop and notebook categories, its decline in shipments was due to delay in shipments and reduced enterprise orders. Dell and Acer both reported a nearly 30% increase in shipments year-on-year. Dell shipped 5.37 lakh units in Q1 2024, up from 4.17 lakh units in Q1 2023. The company fared well in both commercial and consumer segments. Dell had one of its best quarters in the commercial desktop category, boosted by orders from the government. Acer on the other hand shipped 4.74 lakh units, up from 3.68 lakh units. India's PC market grows by 2.6% in Q1 2024, recording third consecutive quarter with growth

<ul><li><keyword id="5156758" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="TAM-AdEx">TAM AdEx</keyword> has released its data for top advertisers on television for the period between January to March 2021.</li><li>Ad volume on TV witnessed a slight drop of 3% during Jan-Mar'21 over Oct-Dec'20.</li><li>Top 10 Advertisers accounted for more than 40% of the total ad volume during Jan-Mar'21.</li></ul>After seeing a steep decline in the first half-year of 2020, television saw an uptick in ad volumes and ad insertions by 46% in June’20 and there was no going back. During the festive period, that is October-December 2020, ad volumes increased by 39% over the previous quarter. It was on a steady rise until December 2020 and the major credit for this growth goes to Indian Premier League 2020, festive season and improvement in consumer sentiment. However, as per TAM AdEx’s latest report, ad volumes on television have declined by 3% in quarter Jan-March 21. The undisputed leader Hindustan Unilever Limited continued its run as the biggest advertiser with 14% of the overall ad volume, followed by Reckitt Benckiser India with 12% volume share. 8 out of 10 advertisers were from the FMCG sector. ITC, Ponds India, Colgate Palmolive India, Brooke Bond Lipton India, Cadburys India, Godrej Consumer Products had a 2% share each on television this quarter. Top 10 Advertisers accounted for more than 40% of the total ad volume during Jan-Mar'21. In the previous quarter ending Dec ‘20, the Personal Care/Personal Hygiene was the top most sector to contribute to TV advertising’s growth, accounting for 20% share of ad volumes, followed by F&amp;B with 18% share. The top three sectors together added 52% share of ad volumes and education was a new entrant in the Top 10 list.

India's services sector grew at a robust pace in September, as a positive demand environment boosted intakes of new business and output volumes, according to the <keyword id="30287" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sp" source="Orion">S&amp;P</keyword> Global survey released on Thursday. The seasonally adjusted <keyword id="13829175" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sp-global-india-services" source="Orion">S&amp;P Global India Services</keyword> PMI Business Activity Index rose from 60.1 in August to 61.0 in September, signalling a sharp upturn in output that was one of the strongest in over 13 years. With workloads rising and capacities experiencing mild pressure, job numbers continued to increase at a historically high rate. Services firms retained positive expectations for activity, with sentiment improving to its highest level in over nine years, the survey stated. September's expansion in output was commonly associated with effective marketing, favourable demand conditions and strong influxes of new business. "The latest PMI results brought more positive news for India's service economy, with September seeing business activity and new work intakes rising to one of the greatest extents in over 13 years. Besides demand strength domestically, firms noted higher international sales to Asia, Europe and North America," said Pollyanna De Lima, Economics Associate Director at <keyword id="3435727" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sp-global-market-intelligence" source="Orion">S&amp;P Global Market Intelligence</keyword>. "Moreover, an upturn in business optimism about the year ahead, fuelled by buoyant demand conditions, bode well to further growth across the service sector. Unsurprisingly, job creation was sustained as the business mood improved," Lima added. The latest data showed a substantial increase in new business placed with Indian service providers, one that was the second-fastest since June 2010. Anecdotal evidence indicated that market dynamics remained favourable, supporting demand. Advertising was also cited as a key factor boosting sales.

Brinkman blamed <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-tesla-reputation-turning-buyers-off-ev-caliber-2024-4">waning demand</a> and intensifying competition for Tesla's sale woes, and said that investor patience could be wearing thin for the company after a three-year downturn."We are slashing our estimates and price target for Tesla shares after updating for 1Q24 deliveries which yesterday tracked materially softer than JPM and consensus expectations and which we estimate could spell trouble for investor confidence in the company's long-term growth outlook that is so critical to sustaining the stock's rarified valuation multiple," Brinkman said. Brinkman said Tesla's first quarter deliveries missed analyst estimates by the greatest amount on record, highlighting just how big of a miss the company's results were, especially when considering that analyst estimates were already declining heading into the data release."At the peak of expectations on June 10, 2022, analysts surveyed by Bloomberg estimated Tesla would sell 626K vehicles in 1Q24, but the actual number of vehicles sold in 1Q24 reported yesterday was just 387K or -38% less than what was once forecast," Brinkman explained. The wide gap between peak expectations and actual vehicle sales in the first quarter has been blamed <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/hybrids-more-popular-than-evs-toyota-ford-tesla-cars-electric-2024-3?utm_medium=ingest&amp;utm_source=markets">on the rise of hybrid cars,</a> factory supply disruptions, and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-xiaomi-launch-electric-car-apple-failed-tesla-2024-3">strong price competition from China automakers.</a>Those risk factors may not be ending anytime soon, making it even more difficult for Tesla to maintain its current premium valuation."We caution Tesla shares could fall much further still should the company not be successful in quickly restoring unit volume and revenue growth, lest investors elect to no longer assign the stock its still hyper growth company valuation multiple," Brinkman said. Most concerning to Brinkman is that while Tesla's vehicle sales slowed, its underlying profits have been deteriorating as several vehicle price cuts over the past year have eaten into the company's profit margins.Those deteriorating profits could put added pressure on Tesla and its investor base, who may finally ditch the company's aspirational goals of fully autonomous cars and humanoid robots, and instead focus on the profitability of its core auto business. "With 1Q24 deliveries now known to have contracted, we are highly confident both automotive and total company revenue will be negative in 1Q, likely causing even the most bullish investors to take a sentiment check," Brinkman said.
