The company stated that this preferential allotment is in accordance with SEBI's regulations which totals around <keyword id="22467815" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rs-615-crore" source="keywords">Rs 615 crore</keyword> and represents a strategic move to enhance the company's capital base. According to the statement by the company, the breakdown includes around 25 crore <keyword id="20035340" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="equity-shares" source="keywords">equity shares</keyword> to Nokia Solutions and Networks India Pvt. and over 15 crore equity shares to Ericsson India Pvt. At first look, you may get an iPhone-like look, with people even mistaking it for an iPhone during my usage, but this clears up immediately after looking at the pill-shaped camera module. The aluminium frame comes with a glossy finish and is slightly slippery. The aluminium frame also attracts dust fingerprint smudges easily. The display is excellent, with the high refresh rate offering a good experience while gaming and watching content. <h2>Software and performance</h2>The Pixel 9 Pro XL runs on Android 14 out of the box and is promised to get seven years of Android updates and security patches. The software is the highlight of the Pixel lineup and the Pixel 9 Pro XL is no different. The device offers an Android experience as imagined by Google, the operating system maker. As expected, the device comes loaded with AI features in the form of Gemini. To enable users to make the most out of the AI features, Google is offering a one-year premium subscription to Pixel 9 Pro XL users, giving them access to Gemini Advanced, 2TB of Google Drive storage and more. The device comes pre-installed with Pixel Studio, a new GenAI image generation app from Google, allowing users to generate images easily on the go. You also get access to Gemini Live, a live-chat version of Gemini, which allows for voice-enabled interactions. In what might excite most photography enthusiasts like myself, the device also comes with a more powerful Magic Editor, giving access to a ton of new tools. Talking about AI and photography, the new Add Me feature is excellent, especially for those who often end up being the ones to take group pictures and regret not being in them. The new Add Me feature allows you to take a group picture and then hand your phone to your friend and then join the group for another picture, then using AI to blend them into one image to make the perfect group picture. I used this feature during one of my trips and found it to be quite useful. Once you get the hang of it and remember to stand in the correct place, it works quite well. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is powered by the Google Tensor G4 chipset built on Samsung’s 4nm process. It comes with 16GB of RAM and offers up to 512GB of internal storage. If you are hoping for a drastic performance improvement compared to the predecessor, you might be disappointed. It offers an incremental improvement in performance but can easily handle everything that you throw at it. One area the chipset and the device has improved a lot over the Pixel 8 Pro is thermal management and proper connectivity. These were some of my biggest issues with the last-gen devices and Google has made a significant improvement in this aspect. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is powered by a 5,060mAh battery with 37W wired and 23W wireless charging support. The images turned out to be sharp and clear, with adequate details and minimal noise. On the front, the Pixel 9 Pro XL features a 42MP selfie camera. The front camera can easily capture good selfies in normal lighting and low light conditions. <h2>Verdict</h2>The Pixel 9 Pro XL is the best device in the current Pixel lineup and one of the best Android smartphones out there. The device offers an excellent user experience, a premium design and good cameras. It offers good performance and ample storage, ticking off a lot of the boxes. At the same time, the Pixel 9 Pro XL commands a premium price and while enthusiasts may like the stock Android experience, the lack of customisation may not be everyone’s cup of tea. If you are looking for a stock Android experience with powerful hardware and are willing to pay a premium, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is an excellent option. Google Pixel 9 Pro XL review – the best Android experience

This could be the third-largest anchor book after One 97 Communications and Life Insurance Corporation (LIC). One 97 Communications and LIC had raised Rs 8,235 crore and Rs 5,627 crore in the anchor round, respectively. In a notification to the exchanges on Wednesday, VIL said it has allotted 490.9 crore shares to 74 funds at Rs 11 apiece, which is also the upper end of the price band. This translated into a transaction size to Rs 5,400 crore. Of the total allocation to <keyword id="21330641" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="anchor-investors" source="keywords">anchor investors</keyword>, 79.52 crore stocks, or 16.2 per cent of the total, were allocated to five domestic mutual fund through a total of 11 schemes. Those who were allotted shares include GQG Partners Emerging Markets Equity Fund, Fidelity, UBS Fund Management, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Australian Super, Troo Capital, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup Global Markets Mauritius, and Jupiter Fund Management. Additionally, domestic investors, including Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund, HDFC Mutual Fund, SBI General Insurance and Quant Mutual Fund, were allocated shares in the anchor round. The Rs 18,000-crore FPO of Vodafone Idea will open for public subscription on April 18 and conclude on April 22, marking the biggest FPO in the country. The price band has been set at Rs 10-11 per share. Prior to this, the largest FPO in the Indian market was a Rs 15,000 crore share-sale by YES Bank in 2020. The fundraise would give the ailing telco the firepower to improve its positioning in the Indian telecom market, where it currently trails larger rivals such as Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, by a wide margin. Along with memes, they used AI-generated artwork to paint Trump and those around him as superheroes and patriotic titans. Trump and Musk <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-targets-young-men-theo-von-logan-paul-adin-ross-2024-8">galvanized young men</a> with X posts, speaking to "manosphere" stars such as Joe Rogan, and <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-joe-rogan-interview-podcast-young-male-voters-2024-10">promoting</a> traditional masculine ideals. The upshot was a stark shift among men under 30 in favor of Republicans compared to previous elections."It is hard not to attribute momentum gains in Trump support among younger male voters to Musk's or Rogan's endorsements," Mark Malek, chief investment officer at Siebert, told BI. He likened the trend to Musk's touting of dogecoin, which boosted the dog-themed crypto. Wall Street traders watched the swings in election betting markets to assess the state of the presidential race and inform their investments, Malek added.<h2 id="5e5ff9c8-86ff-4d6a-bc55-54b2a03ceb6a">Memes with meaning</h2>Naeem Aslam, chief investment officer at Zaye Capital Markets, told BI he saw "strong similarities" between the two events but with some twists this time."In 2021, WallStreetBets (WSB) aimed at the money bigwigs, rallying against hedge funds. But now, the target list has grown. It's not just Wall Street in the crosshairs. Washington, the media, and what many call the 'establishment' are all fair game," he said."The meme-driven buzz from 2021 has returned, but now it's mixed with a strong ideological element making today's speculative scene wider and longer-lasting."Trump Media &amp; Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social which counts the president-elect as its majority shareholder, unites several of these ideas. It became a proxy for Trump's chances at returning to the White House and has <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/trump-trade-us-presidential-election-dollar-treasuries-stocks-crypto-djt-2024-11">swung dramatically</a> in recent days.Tesla stock also <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/tesla-stock-price-trump-win-elon-musk-election-tsla-2024-11">surged</a> 15% on Wednesday after Trump won, even as other clean-energy stocks tanked in anticipation of a less green administration. Malek said it was clear that "some sort of premium has been placed on the stock as a result of Musk's very public involvement in Trump's campaign.""Tesla is by no means a meme stock, but its recent move certainly has notes of one," he added.There are clear parallels between the meme stock mania of early 2021 and the social-media chatter and betting-platform activity going into the election. But it's worth acknowledging the difference in scale and stakes between the two episodes."One is selecting someone to run a country and make decisions that will affect millions of people's lives, the other is about a relatively small group of people hoping to make a quick buck," Dan Coatsworth, an investment analyst at AJ Bell, told BI.

Return on invested capital, or ROIC, is a financial metric that measures a company’s ability to efficiently allocate assets to profitable ventures. Higher the ROIC, the better it is. “The incremental operating leverage at Bharti Airtel is much higher than Jio due to an already optimized cost structure at Jio and with finance charges set to catch-up and sticky depreciation &amp; amortization charges,” says Macquarie in its report, explaining why it expects Airtel and not Jio is expected to be the biggest winner regardless of what happens to Vodafone Idea. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="The white knight" comment="subhead" text="The white knight">The white knight</cmsannotation> The first scenario involves the telco being bailed out via capital infusion and a growth in its ARPU to cover its liabilities over the next 10-15 years. In this scenario, while Jio and Airtel are not expected to gain much in terms of subscribers, Airtel’s higher incremental operating leverage than Jio puts it in a better position. As a result, its ROIC is expected to rise from existing 6% to 10-14% by FY27, while Jio’s ROIC is expected to rise from 7% to 7-10% in the same period. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="The slow grind" comment="subhead" text="The slow grind">The slow grind</cmsannotation> If things don’t change and Vi is unable to raise funds and invest in its network, analysts expect the telco to continue losing subscribers and its market share falling to just 15% by FY30. In this scenario, Reliance Jio could expand its subscriber base to 500 million, followed by Airtel at 365 million and Vodafone Idea at 200 million. Airtel is expected to take the lead in two other critical metrics – ARPU and ROIC. Its ARPU is expected to rise to ₹250 by FY27, while Jio is expected to remain in the second place at ₹235. Airtel’s ROIC is expected to rise to 10-13%, with Jio once again in the second place at 7-10%. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Duopoly" comment="subhead" text="Duopoly">Duopoly</cmsannotation> Duopoly is the worst-case scenario for Vodafone Idea. If the telco winds down its operations, Jio and Airtel could gain in terms of subscribers as well as ROIC. In this case, Jio’s subscriber base could rise up to 585 million by FY27, with Airtel coming in second place at 455 million. However, Vodafone Idea’s exit could lead to even better ROIC for both Airtel and Jio, with Macquarie pegging Airtel’s ROIC to be in the range of 10-16%, while Jio is expected to remain in the second place with a ROIC of 8-12%. Airtel, not Jio, to gain the most from Vodafone Idea's troubles

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Some shoppers and businesses are stockpiling goods to avoid potential price hikes from tariffs.</li><li>President-elect Donald Trump has proposed sweeping tariffs on imported goods.</li></ul>Kristen Hull bought a new car last weekend.The 38-year-old accountant had been planning to do it in six months. But following Donald Trump's <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-trump-won-election-high-prices-cost-of-living-unemployment-2024-11">presidential election victory</a>, Hull heard that car costs could surge if his <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cost-expensive-goods-price-impact-presidential-election-scenarios-trump-harris-2024-10">tariff plans</a> are enacted."I was just thinking, if not now, maybe in six months it might be way out of my price range," Hull told Business Insider. She's also looking into buying a new laptop and stocking up on winter clothing."I'm really concerned about the cost of things, and so I just went ahead and took the jump."On the campaign trail, Trump proposed a 60% tariff on imports from China and 10% to 20% on goods from other countries. It's still unclear how and when he will <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-tariffs-higher-inflation-fed-interest-rates-taxes-mortgage-rates-2024-11">enact the tariffs</a> and how big he will go."Companies have made clear in many cases that they will pass the higher prices on to consumers," said Indi Dutta-Gupta, a fellow at both Georgetown University and the Roosevelt Institute, a left-leaning think tank.Firms, including AutoZone and Columbia Sportswear, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/companies-raising-prices-trump-tariffs-inflation-goods-getting-more-expensive-2024-11">have already indicated</a> they will raise prices if tariffs are enacted.Some shoppers and small businesses told BI they are also preparing. <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.tiktok.com/@antiplasticlady/video/7435678703147076910?amp%3Bt=1731358479116&amp;q=tariffs%20under%20trump">TikTok videos</a> recommending viewers stock up on certain goods like hair, makeup, and clothing products are racking up thousands of views, and panicked comments.Karoline Leavitt, a Trump-Vance transition spokeswoman, told BI, "Trump instituted tariffs against China that created jobs, spurred investment, and resulted in no inflation."Considering the larger scale of Trump's proposals this time around, trade experts have identified goods, including car parts, apparel, and electronics, as <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-trump-tariffs-will-impact-prices-technology-clothes-appliances-furniture-2024-11">products at risk of getting more expensive</a> under Trump's tariff proposals."It's going to be a big shift if that does come to fruition," Hull said. "We pay tariffs on some things anyway, but the talk of the massive increase is a little bit alarming to me."<h2 id="55855a54-34f3-4348-894e-b4b4454ea037">Adopting "prepper" methods and stocking up on groceries</h2>One 42-year-old mother of three in Southern Indiana, whose identity is known to BI but withheld over privacy concerns, is leaning back into her prepper roots. Before the pandemic and Trump's second run, she tried to forget the "craziness" of her old-school <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-are-doomsday-preppers-why-are-they-right-wing-2019-8">doomsday prepper</a> background. She was raised by "one of the original conspiracy theorist guys who had serious distrust of the government," she said.But she's leaned back into it. She estimates that her family has spent upwards of $2,800 to $3,000 slowly preparing and stockpiling goods, including everything from buying meats from a local butcher and deep-freezing them to dehydrating food for a longer shelf life. She got started early: As soon as she had a "gut feeling" Trump was running again, her family began their slow stockpile."We aren't like the ones you used to see on Discovery Channel with bunkers and huge stashes of stuff, but we have enough to get through 3-5 years at least of hard times," she said.Dutta-Gupta said it's reasonable for families to want to stock up on imported goods, as trade wars and tax changes could reduce incomes and raise the cost of living.Marissa Garcia, 38, said she didn't pay much attention to tariffs prior to the election.After Trump's victory, she said, "I started making a list of the potential items that could be affected, and then narrowing them down to the actual things that would affect my family, the things that I would be sad about if we couldn't afford next year."She said that the week after the election, she "went to the store and made my first of hopefully many shopping trips to start stocking up on them."Items on Garcia's list include frozen fruits and vegetables, garlic, coffee, tea, and bread, all of which would be subject to tariffs. She also said she's planning to stock up on hygiene supplies like sanitizer and masks. These purchases are costing around an additional $50 on her grocery trips, and although money is tight — she got laid off last year and is freelancing as she looks for a permanent role — she said she anticipates an even greater financial strain under Trump's proposed policies.An <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.americanprogressaction.org/article/trumps-tariff-would-cost-the-typical-american-household-roughly-1500-each-year/">analysis</a> from the left-leaning Center for American Progress found that Trump's tariff plans would cost the average household an extra $1,500 a year, and the nonpartisan Peterson Insitute <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.piie.com/sites/default/files/2024-09/wp24-20.pdf">estimated</a> that Trump's proposed 60% tariff on Chinese goods would boost inflation by 0.4 percentage points in 2025.Garcia said that learning of those estimates alarmed her. "My family cannot afford that. This year was rough enough, and that was really surprising and also just a scary feeling," she said.<h2 id="d8a08791-1bb1-4d36-b97a-e72031c68494">Small business owners are trying to stock up, too</h2>Worries about potential tariffs are already taking a financial toll on Beatrice Barba, 39, who owns a small business that produces plastic-free cups.Barba said she imports most of the materials she needs to produce her cups from China. She's considering purchasing a year's worth of inventory now, which she estimates would cost up to $200,000 plus the price of additional warehouse space.She said taking that risk is worth it because she wants to do everything she can to ensure she does not have to raise the price of her goods down the road.As a longer-term solution, she's working with a developer to build a health advice app — a business she plans to prioritize because an app would not be subject to tariffs.Lisa Evans, a 43-year-old salon owner in Jacksonville, Florida, is examining where her products are sourced. Even hair color dyes manufactured in the US might contain ingredients from abroad, and their prices could surge.Much of the hair in already-costly extensions is sourced from China, and she worries how much more expensive that will get. At this point, she's focusing on padding inventory going into the next year."It's like hope for the best, but prepare for the worst," she said.Jonathan Gold, vice president of supply chain and customs policy at the National Retail Federation, told BI that even though it's still unclear what exactly Trump will implement, it's not a bad idea for both companies and consumers to prepare for any impacts."We're in a very different economy now than when we were back in 2018 when the initial China tariffs were put in place, and the scale and scope of what is being proposed is going to impact everything," Gold said. "Unfortunately, companies aren't able to absorb all of that, so they're going to have to pass on some of those costs to consumers."Javon Ford, a 30-year-old chemist in Los Angeles, said that tariffs can create a "roadblock" to procuring raw materials. Ford is considering stocking up on color pigments for cosmetics and is gearing up to contact suppliers and order materials before January 2025. But it's impossible to stock up on everything or know what might be in demand over the next four years — so tariffs could still mean adjusting prices to keep profit margins consistent.With so much uncertainty regarding Trump's tariff proposals, it's difficult to plan.
