That's because Trump's proposed policies could spark a period of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/stagflation-recession-us-economy-outlook-gdp-dimon-inflation-rate-cuts-2024-4">stagflation</a> for the economy, Roubini said, a situation some economic experts have described as even worse than a recession. The company stated that this preferential allotment is in accordance with SEBI's regulations which totals around <keyword id="22467815" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rs-615-crore" source="keywords">Rs 615 crore</keyword> and represents a strategic move to enhance the company's capital base. According to the statement by the company, the breakdown includes around 25 crore <keyword id="20035340" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="equity-shares" source="keywords">equity shares</keyword> to Nokia Solutions and Networks India Pvt. and over 15 crore equity shares to Ericsson India Pvt. The issue price per equity share was set at Rs. 14.80, including a premium of Rs. 4.80 per share at a face value of Rs 10 per share. "The Capital Raising Committee of the Board ("Capital Raising Committee") has, at its meeting, approved the second tranche of allotment of 41,52,02,701 Equity Shares of face value of Rs. 10/- each at an issue price of Rs. 14.80 per equity share (including a premium of Rs. 4.80 per equity share), to Nokia Solutions and Networks India Private Limited (25,67,56,756 Equity Shares) and Ericsson India Private Limited (15,84,45,945 Equity Shares), aggregating to Rs. 614.5 crores, on a preferential basis" said the company. Just ahead of its mega <keyword id="20008249" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="FPO" source="keywords">FPO</keyword> opening to <keyword id="21332860" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="public-investors" source="keywords">public investors</keyword>, <keyword id="19899016" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vodafone-Idea" source="keywords">Vodafone Idea</keyword> (<keyword id="20062540" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vil" source="keywords">VIL</keyword>) has announced closure of its anchor book allocation, raising about Rs 5,400 crore from marquee global as well as domestic investors, according to a statutory filing by the <keyword id="20132985" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="telco" source="keywords">telco</keyword>. This could be the third-largest anchor book after One 97 Communications and Life Insurance Corporation (LIC). One 97 Communications and LIC had raised Rs 8,235 crore and Rs 5,627 crore in the anchor round, respectively. In a notification to the exchanges on Wednesday, VIL said it has allotted 490.9 crore shares to 74 funds at Rs 11 apiece, which is also the upper end of the price band. This translated into a transaction size to Rs 5,400 crore. Of the total allocation to <keyword id="21330641" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="anchor-investors" source="keywords">anchor investors</keyword>, 79.52 crore stocks, or 16.2 per cent of the total, were allocated to five domestic mutual fund through a total of 11 schemes. Those who were allotted shares include GQG Partners Emerging Markets Equity Fund, Fidelity, UBS Fund Management, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Australian Super, Troo Capital, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup Global Markets Mauritius, and Jupiter Fund Management. Additionally, domestic investors, including Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund, HDFC Mutual Fund, SBI General Insurance and Quant Mutual Fund, were allocated shares in the anchor round. The Rs 18,000-crore FPO of Vodafone Idea will open for public subscription on April 18 and conclude on April 22, marking the biggest FPO in the country. The price band has been set at Rs 10-11 per share. Prior to this, the largest FPO in the Indian market was a Rs 15,000 crore share-sale by YES Bank in 2020. The fundraise would give the ailing telco the firepower to improve its positioning in the Indian telecom market, where it currently trails larger rivals such as Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, by a wide margin. The funds will also help VIL shore up finances for the much-delayed <keyword id="20366727" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="5G-rollout" source="keywords">5G rollout</keyword> and strengthening 4G services, and payment of vendor dues. On April 6, the VIL Board approved raising Rs 2,075 crore from promoter Aditya Birla Group and increasing its authorised share capital to Rs 1 lakh crore. Earlier this year, Vodafone Idea had outlined plans to raise Rs 45,000 crore through a mix of equity and debt as it looked to match services offered by rivals Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel and arrest an alarming and prolonged subscriber churn. VIL has also been fighting a desperate battle for survival, saddled with debt of Rs 2.1 lakh crore and quarterly losses. According to Trai data, Vodafone Idea continued to bleed on the subscriber front. VIL lost 15.2 lakh wireless subscribers, plunging its mobile subscriber base to 22.15 crore in January, in sharp contrast to subscriber gains by Jio and Airtel.

XL, making major changes to the design when compared to the Pixel 8 Pro. I tested the Rose Quartz colour variant of the device. <div type="image" title="right side" msid="115487089" hostid="261" sizebytes="52702" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Rounded corners on the Pixel 9 Pro XL&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The device comes with flat sides, with rounded corners for its aluminium frame, that give it a premium feel while holding. At first look, you may get an iPhone-like look, with people even mistaking it for an iPhone during my usage, but this clears up immediately after looking at the pill-shaped camera module. The aluminium frame comes with a glossy finish and is slightly slippery. The aluminium frame also attracts dust fingerprint smudges easily. For these reasons, it might be a good idea to use the device with a case. <div type="image" title="Camera" msid="115487108" hostid="261" sizebytes="28950" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The pill-shaped camera module&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> It comes with a large pill-shaped camera module that houses the triple camera setup, a temperature sensor and the LED flash. Coming to the display, the Pixel 9 Pro XL comes equipped with a large 6.8-inch Quad HD+ LTPO OLED display with a 1-120Hz refresh rate, up to 3,000 nits brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. <div type="image" title="Display" msid="115487313" hostid="261" sizebytes="72596" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Pixel 9 Pro XL display&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The device sports a good display, which offers accurate colours and offers good visibility, even in direct sunlight. The display is excellent, with the high refresh rate offering a good experience while gaming and watching content. <h2>Software and performance</h2>The Pixel 9 Pro XL runs on Android 14 out of the box and is promised to get seven years of Android updates and security patches. The software is the highlight of the Pixel lineup and the Pixel 9 Pro XL is no different. The device offers an Android experience as imagined by Google, the operating system maker. As expected, the device comes loaded with AI features in the form of Gemini. To enable users to make the most out of the AI features, Google is offering a one-year premium subscription to Pixel 9 Pro XL users, giving them access to Gemini Advanced, 2TB of Google Drive storage and more. The device comes pre-installed with Pixel Studio, a new GenAI image generation app from Google, allowing users to generate images easily on the go. You also get access to Gemini Live, a live-chat version of Gemini, which allows for voice-enabled interactions. In what might excite most photography enthusiasts like myself, the device also comes with a more powerful Magic Editor, giving access to a ton of new tools. Talking about AI and photography, the new Add Me feature is excellent, especially for those who often end up being the ones to take group pictures and regret not being in them. The new Add Me feature allows you to take a group picture and then hand your phone to your friend and then join the group for another picture, then using AI to blend them into one image to make the perfect group picture. I used this feature during one of my trips and found it to be quite useful. Once you get the hang of it and remember to stand in the correct place, it works quite well. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is powered by the Google Tensor G4 chipset built on Samsung’s 4nm process. It comes with 16GB of RAM and offers up to 512GB of internal storage. If you are hoping for a drastic performance improvement compared to the predecessor, you might be disappointed. It offers an incremental improvement in performance but can easily handle everything that you throw at it. One area the chipset and the device has improved a lot over the Pixel 8 Pro is thermal management and proper connectivity. These were some of my biggest issues with the last-gen devices and Google has made a significant improvement in this aspect. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is powered by a 5,060mAh battery with 37W wired and 23W wireless charging support. The device offers a day’s battery life with normal usage. <h2>Camera</h2>The camera is the strongest selling point of Pixel smartphones, and unsurprisingly, the Pixel 9 Pro XL excels in this regard. <div type="image" title="Rear cam" msid="115487382" hostid="261" sizebytes="53002" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Pixel 9 Pro XL rear camera&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Coming to the camera department, the Pixel 9 Pro XL features a triple camera setup at the back, consisting of a 50MP primary camera with Samsung GN2 sensor with OIS, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera with Sony IMX858 sensor and a 48MP 5X telephoto camera with Sony IMX858 sensor with up to 30x digital zoom. <div type="image" title="PXL_20240818_123753737" msid="115487547" hostid="261" sizebytes="186394" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured while moving&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The smartphone supports zero shutter lag, which means it captures photos at the same moment you tap on the shutter button. The portrait mode is excellent in both daylight and indoor conditions. <div type="image" title="n" msid="115487621" hostid="261" sizebytes="147076" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured using night mode&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The Pixel 9 Pro XL also performs excellently in low-light and night conditions, capturing well-detailed, colour-accurate photos despite the challenging lighting conditions. The images turned out to be sharp and clear, with adequate details and minimal noise. On the front, the Pixel 9 Pro XL features a 42MP selfie camera. The front camera can easily capture good selfies in normal lighting and low light conditions. <h2>Verdict</h2>The Pixel 9 Pro XL is the best device in the current Pixel lineup and one of the best Android smartphones out there. The device offers an excellent user experience, a premium design and good cameras. It offers good performance and ample storage, ticking off a lot of the boxes. At the same time, the Pixel 9 Pro XL commands a premium price and while enthusiasts may like the stock Android experience, the lack of customisation may not be everyone’s cup of tea. If you are looking for a stock Android experience with powerful hardware and are willing to pay a premium, the Pixel 9 Pro XL is an excellent option. It could also describe the meme stock craze of early 2021.The two events have striking similarities. Both featured celebrity billionaires championing their favorites. Musk <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/gamestop-stock-price-elon-musk-gamestonk-tweet-extends-trading-rally-2021-1">tweeted</a> "GameStonk!!" at the height of the short squeeze on GameStop stock in January 2021, then <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/currencies/news/dogecoin-price-elon-musk-twitter-cryptocurrency-market-trading-reddit-doge-2021-2">posted</a> "Dogecoin is the people's crypto" a few days later, causing both assets to spike in price. In September of this year, the Tesla CEO <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/musk-donated-million-ron-desantis-changed-tack-bet-on-trump-2024-10">posted</a> on X: "Unless Trump is elected, America will fall to tyranny."Similarly, in February 2021, Cuban <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/mark-cuban-thanks-wallstreetbets-advises-hold-gamestop-stock-robinhood-reddit-2021-2">thanked</a> members of Reddit's WallStreetBets forum for "changing the game" and "taking on Wall Street." Two months later, the "Shark Tank" star tweeted that dogecoin was the "one coin that people actually use for transactions."Cuban <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/mark-cuban-kamala-harris-donald-trump-economic-plans-2024-8">threw his weight behind</a> Kamala Harris going into the election, praising the Democratic candidate and criticizing Trump in several since-deleted X posts."It's certainly got hallmarks of the kind of vibes-based, personality-based cultish side," Neil Wilson, the chief market analyst at Finalto, told Business Insider about the election conversation this year.<h2 id="7d9e95dc-2060-4569-ac60-cb58c6e78915">Trading frenzy</h2>Retail traders bet big on both occasions. They <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/reddit-traders-memes-crypto-stock-market-wall-street-strikes-back-2021-12">piled</a> into beaten-down stocks, SPACs, crypto, and other high-risk assets in early 2021. Similarly, they <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/kalshi-polymarket-top-apple-app-store-downloads-election-betting-surge-2024-11">plowed</a> millions of dollars into Polymarket and other prediction-betting markets before the polls closed and Trump secured victory.Stars emerged both times. Keith "Roaring Kitty" Gill became the face of the GameStop craze for <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/keith-gill-gamestop-stock-bet-79-million-one-day-gain-2024-6">ostensibly making</a> tens of millions of dollars on the video game retailer's stock. A French trader known as Théo <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/polymarket-whale-banked-85-million-profit-trump-president-election-win-2024-11">racked up</a> similar profits betting on Trump via Polymarket.Young men played an outsize role in both sagas. In 2021, they flocked to the WSB subreddit and other social media to share their stock picks, exchange funny memes, and share screenshots of their wins and losses. Their <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/robinhood-trader-made-1300-percent-return-tesla-stock-rally-2020-2">motives</a> ranged from wanting to get rich quickly, to having a laugh, to fighting back against the Wall Street elite they saw as bullying the businesses of their childhood.<h2 id="c1b692d8-9e77-48f8-82d0-4c4d6b810ca3">Winning men</h2>Men under 30 <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-2024-election-win-5-stats-to-explain-result-2024-11">rallied behind Trump en masse</a> this year, framing his campaign as a common-sense revolution against an oppressive establishment, lying media, and unfair system. Along with memes, they used AI-generated artwork to paint Trump and those around him as superheroes and patriotic titans. Trump and Musk <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-targets-young-men-theo-von-logan-paul-adin-ross-2024-8">galvanized young men</a> with X posts, speaking to "manosphere" stars such as Joe Rogan, and <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-joe-rogan-interview-podcast-young-male-voters-2024-10">promoting</a> traditional masculine ideals. The upshot was a stark shift among men under 30 in favor of Republicans compared to previous elections."It is hard not to attribute momentum gains in Trump support among younger male voters to Musk's or Rogan's endorsements," Mark Malek, chief investment officer at Siebert, told BI. He likened the trend to Musk's touting of dogecoin, which boosted the dog-themed crypto. Wall Street traders watched the swings in election betting markets to assess the state of the presidential race and inform their investments, Malek added.<h2 id="5e5ff9c8-86ff-4d6a-bc55-54b2a03ceb6a">Memes with meaning</h2>Naeem Aslam, chief investment officer at Zaye Capital Markets, told BI he saw "strong similarities" between the two events but with some twists this time."In 2021, WallStreetBets (WSB) aimed at the money bigwigs, rallying against hedge funds. But now, the target list has grown. It's not just Wall Street in the crosshairs. Washington, the media, and what many call the 'establishment' are all fair game," he said."The meme-driven buzz from 2021 has returned, but now it's mixed with a strong ideological element making today's speculative scene wider and longer-lasting."Trump Media &amp; Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social which counts the president-elect as its majority shareholder, unites several of these ideas. It became a proxy for Trump's chances at returning to the White House and has <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/trump-trade-us-presidential-election-dollar-treasuries-stocks-crypto-djt-2024-11">swung dramatically</a> in recent days.Tesla stock also <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/tesla-stock-price-trump-win-elon-musk-election-tsla-2024-11">surged</a> 15% on Wednesday after Trump won, even as other clean-energy stocks tanked in anticipation of a less green administration. Malek said it was clear that "some sort of premium has been placed on the stock as a result of Musk's very public involvement in Trump's campaign.""Tesla is by no means a meme stock, but its recent move certainly has notes of one," he added.There are clear parallels between the meme stock mania of early 2021 and the social-media chatter and betting-platform activity going into the election. But it's worth acknowledging the difference in scale and stakes between the two episodes."One is selecting someone to run a country and make decisions that will affect millions of people's lives, the other is about a relatively small group of people hoping to make a quick buck," Dan Coatsworth, an investment analyst at AJ Bell, told BI.
