That Entered Rs 100 Crore Club In 2013

The Hrithik Roshan-starrer was released on November 1 and noted critic-trade analyst <keyword id="107593" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Taran-Adarsh">Taran Adarsh</keyword> broke the news on Twitter. “#Krrish3 hits a ton. Crosses ₹ 100 cr mark on Mon. Fri to Mon: ₹ 108.61 cr,” his <keyword id="6354904" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="tweet">tweet</keyword> said. But there’s yet another record. The flick has registered the highest collections ever on a single day – Rs 35.91 crore on Monday, November 4. 
 
And still there’s more. Adarsh’s latest tweet says: It’s a rocking Tuesday! #Krrish3 is on a record-smashing spree. Collects ₹ 26.26 cr. Total: ₹ 134.87 cr. AWESOME. 
 According to <keyword id="175999" type="POSITION" weightage="100" keywordseo="producer-director">producer-director</keyword> <keyword id="1989" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rakesh-Roshan">Rakesh Roshan</keyword> (Hrithik’s dad), by Monday, the film has collected Rs 108.6 crore in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions across 4,450 screens, an Economic Times report said. The rest of the trade contradicted the numbers, though, pegging it between Rs 85 crore and Rs 93 crore. 
 
 
 Has Krrish 3 got the better of <keyword id="1671" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Shah-Rukh-Khan">Shah Rukh Khan</keyword>’s Chennai Express, which has reportedly entered the Rs 100 crore club in fastest time – again in 4 days. We are not sure at this point of time, but the third movie in the Krrish series has definitely bombed the <keyword id="25892" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="box-office">box office</keyword> after Chennai Express. 
 Papa Roshan’s dream flick stars ‘beta’ Hrithik, <keyword id="1655" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Priyanka-Chopra">Priyanka Chopra</keyword>, Kangana Ranaut and <keyword id="13902" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vivek-Oberoi">Vivek Oberoi</keyword> (he played the villain Kaal). The superhero sci-fi drama was made at a budget of about Rs 100-150 crore. It was sold at Rs 70 crore to some 9 domestic distributors, with another Rs 18 crore coming in from overseas rights (570 screens). Krrish 3 also struck a <keyword id="6358065" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Satellite">satellite</keyword> deal with Sony for about Rs 37 crore and sold its music for Rs 7 crore to T Series, ET reported. 
 Interestingly, it is Hrithik’s second and Priyanka’s fourth film to cross the 100-crore mark. Again, Krrish 3 is Vivek’s second success after the adult comedy Grand Masti. As one critic said, it’s definitely a bumper Diwali gift for all – actors, director-producer, audience and the ubiquitous movie industry called <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword>.

Still, after the unexpected disaster that Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Besharam has turned out to be (despite the biggest names backing it), a question mark hangs over the fate of the upcoming <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> flicks.

Will it make it big at the box office, especially when there’s no lead lady paired opposite Khiladi Kumar? Will Aditi Rao Hyadri’s bikini act, Sonakshi Sinha’s item number ‘Saari Raat Party,’ which is touted to be the most expensive song ever (INR 6 million), and Akki’s action-comedy be enough to make Boss rule? It is the third part of the franchise that started with Koi Mil…Gaya. Made on a budget of Rs 35 crore, the magnitude of this film is immense, the canvas is vibrant and the protagonists are two most good-looking people (<keyword id="598" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Deepika-Padukone">Deepika Padukone</keyword> and <keyword id="106133" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Ranveer-Singh">Ranveer Singh</keyword>) with a sizzling chemistry. Gori Tere Pyaar Mein Last time when <keyword id="2165" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Kareena-Kapoor">Kareena Kapoor</keyword> and <keyword id="14676" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Imran-Khan">Imran Khan</keyword> came together, the audience didn’t have much fun watching the rom com, Ekk Main Aur Ekk Tu. Will they be able to impress this time around, with this <keyword id="3778" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Karan-Johar">Karan Johar</keyword> production? The trailer failed to create a stir. But then, it’s a relatively small-budget movie and it doesn’t look like a big deal to recover the money, considering Kareena is in the lead role. Now we just hope that her marital status won’t become an obstacle.

And the third installment has added attractions like <keyword id="6355923" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Aamir-Khan">Aamir Khan</keyword> in the first ever negative role and <keyword id="6354850" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Katrina-Kaif">Katrina Kaif</keyword> kicking some ass in the lead. Riding on a whopping budget of Rs 150 crore, we just hope Dhoom 3 ends the year with some fireworks.

5 Big-banner Bollywood Movies To Watch Out For

Mumbai, Jul 15 () Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta on Wednesday began scripting his forthcoming feature, "Rakshak", which revolves around a vigilante superhero. Last December, Gupta announced that his production banner, White Feather Films, had acquired the rights of the graphic novel "Rakshak - A Hero Among Us". The director took to Twitter to share photos of his writing desk with a draft of "Rakshak" on his laptop. "And it begins... for the record on this beautiful morning," Gupta, who will also direct the film, captioned the pictures. The film's screenplay is written by Gupta, Chetan Naidu and Shamik Dasgupta. Last month, the director announced that he had finished writing the first draft of the third installment of the "Shootout" franchise. The first part, "Shootout at Lokhandwala" was helmed by Apoorva Lakhia and starred Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi, Suniel Shetty among others. It was released in 2007. The second installment, 2013's "Shootout at Wadala" was directed by Gupta and featured an ensemble of John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, among others. Gupta is currently awaiting the release of his next, "Mumbai Saga". The star cast of the gangster-drama includes Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Jackie Shroff and Shetty. JUR RDS RDS

Sanjay Gupta starts writing vigilante superhero film 'Rakshak'

In an official notice, the EC said it had received complaints about the use of political content of certain cinematic works like ‘PM Narendra Modi’ and ‘Laxmi’s NTR.’ that seek to advance the electoral prospects of a candidate “in the garb of political freedom.” The latter is based on the life of Telugu Desam Party founder and actor N T Rama Rao that was banned from release in Andhra Pradesh, the home state of TDP. The release of such movies would amount to “surrogate publicity” during the period of model code of conduct for political parties. This code is put in place before general elections. India goes to polls on April 11. Additionally, the notice said such works can potentially affect the level playing field and “free and fair elections,” which is against its <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/general-elections-2019-model-code-of-conduct-for-political-parties-and-candidates-in-india/articleshow/68358245.cms">model</a> code of conduct. The biopic, PM Narendra Modi, features actor Vivek Oberoi in lead role, and depicts him as a visionary, a patriot, painting his rags-to-fame story, according to its trailer.

India’s election commission halts release of Bollywood biopic of PM Narendra Modi a day before polls

After <keyword id="7929" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Anurag-Kashyap">Anurag Kashyap</keyword>'s '<keyword id="6356850" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Udta-Punjab">Udta Punjab</keyword>' was leaked last month, piracy organisations have allegedly leaked the most awaited movie of the year, Salman Khan-Anushka Sharma-starrer '<keyword id="6355056" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sultan">Sultan</keyword>.' 
 
The 'Sultan' leak came just a day before the movie hits theatres in over 4500 screens across India. 
 
Confirming the news, cyber-crime expert, Deep Shankar was quoted in reports as saying that the copy of the movie is available on the darknet and will soon be available on torrent. Another crime investigator, Kishlay Chaudhary has reportedly claimed that the 2 hours 36 minute-long movie is available online and has also shared various screenshots of the same with media houses. He also said that many websites have been blocked since Tuesday and links have been removed immediately after upload. 
 
However, Yash Raj Films has denied any information about the leak. Some cyber experts also allege that there are no active links to the movie and that the trailer was morphed and circulated on social media platforms. 
 
This is the second film which has been leaked this week, the first one being Indra Kumar's 'Great Grand Masti' starring Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh and Urvashi Rautela. 
 
The movie's Censor Board copy was leaked online three days ago. The film's management team is reportedly working hard to remove the links, and even tweets and Facebook links sharing the same are being taken down. The movie was leaked 17 days before its release and is reported to have faced monetary losses as a result. 
 
No formal complaints have been filed by the makers of either movie yet.

The genius playwright’s plays have been performed in theatres across the globe since time immemorial. Veteran Indian actor <keyword id="6354338" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Naseeruddin-Shah">Naseeruddin Shah</keyword> had once said, “The roots may look lost, but every big story in the Hindi film industry is from Shakespeare." 
 In <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> Shakespeare has found many admirers, who have turned his plays and stories into Bollywood blockbusters. The latest being Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider, which is based on the 17th century tragedy Hamlet and is getting released this 2nd October. Let’s take a look at some of the other Bollywood movies based on the writing genius’ plays. 
 
The Tragedy Of Macbeth 
Written in April 1611, this tragedy play was the inspiration of Maqbool. The movie had some of the biggest Indian parallel cinestars like Pankaj Kapoor, Irrfan, Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri and Piyush Mishra. Released in the year 2003, the movie was produced by Bobby Bedi and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, who also composed the background score of the movie. Though it failed to perform much at the BO, the movie is considered a landmark in terms of acting and direction. 
 
The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice 
Written approximately in 1603, this tragedy play inspired Omkara, starring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma, Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Naseeruddin Shah and Bipasha Basu. The 2006 movie was produced by Kumar Mangat and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, thus becoming the second Shakespeare work adapted into a movie by Bhardwaj. The movie was a critical and commercial success, and won three National Awards. 
 
The Comedy Of Errors 
Believed to be written in 1594, the comedy play has inspired six Indian movies, viz. Do Dooni Char (1968) starring Kishore Kumar and Asit Sen; Angoor (1982) starring Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma; Bhrantibilas (1963 Bengali film) starring Uttam Kumar and Bhanu Bandopadhyay; Ulta Palta (1997 Kannada film) starring Ramesh Aravind and Karibasavaiah; Aamait Asal Eemait Kusal (2012 Tulu film) starring Naveen D Padil and Jyotish Shetty; and Double Di Trouble (2014 Punjabi film) starring Dharmendra and Gippy Grewal. 
 
Romeo And Juliet 
Written in 1597, the tragedy play has inspired many Bollywood movies till date. Some of the movies inspired by Romeo and Juliet are: Bobby (1973) starring Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia; Ek Duuje Ke Liye (1981) starring Kamal Haasan and Rati Agniohotri; Sanam Teri Kasam (1982) starring Kamal Haasan and Reena Roy; Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) starring Amir khan and Juhi Chawla; Saudagar (1991) starring Manisha Koirala and Vivek Mushran; Ishaqzaade (2012) starring Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor; Issaq (2013) starring Prateik and Amyra Dastur; and Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela (2013) starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. 
 
The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark 
Written in 1603, the tragedy has inspired Haider, starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Tabbu, Kay Kay Menon, and Irrfan Khan. The movie is produced by Vishal Bhardwaj and Siddharth Roy Kapur, and is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. This is the third film that Bhardwaj has adapted from Shakespeare’s plays. The movie is all set to release on 2nd October 2014.
