New Delhi, Jan 20 () Niche bike maker Royal Enfield on Monday said it has launched its model Himalyan with BS-VI compliant engine with price starting at Rs 1.86 lakh (ex-showroom).
 The new Himalayan comes with switchable ABS feature while retaining the original features.
 "The Himalayan is a distinctive adventure tourer which has performed admirably well, both in India and international markets. Since 2016, the Himalayan has served as a versatile, accessible and un-intimidating ally to many adventures across the world," Royal Enfield CEO Vinod Dasari said in a statement.
 The launch of the new BS-VI Himalayan with its unique features and design functions gives the company confidence that it will resonate with riders, setting new standards for adventure motorcycling in the country, he added.
 Inspired by the motorcycle, the company will also bring in a new range of apparel including helmets, jerseys, t-shirts, sweatshirts and headgears, Dasari said.
 These will be available across the Royal Enfield dealerships in India, he added.
 The Himalayan, which was launched primarily for the Indian markets, has grown to become one of the best adventure touring motorcycles in its segment not just in the country, but globally, Royal Enfield said.

Not only the bus will provide zero tailpipe discharges and lower noise pollution but will also offers lessened running expenses to the operator. 
 "It can deliver payback to the customer in about 4-5 years. India just got its first electric bus

Two-wheeler maker <keyword id="169970" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Eicher-Motors-Ltd">Eicher Motors Ltd</keyword> on Thursday said customers can now choose to personalise and accessorise their Royal Enfield motorcycles at the time of purchase. In a statement issued here, the company said it has rolled out the first of its kind motorcycle personalisation service - The Royal Enfield Make-It-Yours - MiY. The Royal Enfield is the two-wheeler division of Eicher Motors rolling out bikes like Bullet, Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 and others. According to the company, the MiY is enabled via an app based 3-D configurator will allow buyers to access to various possible combinations in personalistion options at the time of booking the motorcycle. Once the order is placed through the app, the buyers will also know the probable delivery time. According to Vinod K. Dasari, CEO, Royal Enfield, with MiY, customers will have a "little bit of them" built into the motorcycle, and depending on the level of personalisation, motorcycles will be custom-made as per consumer specifications, within 24 to 48 hours, at the Chennai plant. "We will be rolling out MiY for all our motorcycles, across all our stores in the country in a phased manner. All new motorcycle models from Royal Enfield, from here on, will come with the MiY feature," he said. Initially the MiY will be available for models like Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650.

Leading commercial <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Indian-auto-industry-targets-to-create-6-5-crore-jobs-in-next-ten-years/articleshow/55470540.cms">vehicle makers of India</a>, such as <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword>, <keyword id="6357085" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ashok-Leyland">Ashok Leyland</keyword> and <keyword id="6357096" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mahindra-Mahindra">Mahindra &amp; Mahindra</keyword>, along with and two-wheeler majors Hero MotoCorp, Honda and TVS will have to bear the brunt of <keyword id="6354977" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Supreme-Court">Supreme Court</keyword>’s <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/sc-bans-sale-registration-of-non-bs-iv-compliant-vehicles/articleshow/57892438.cms">ban on BS-III vehicles</a>. 
 
The ban, which will be implemented from April 1, would leave the Indian auto industry with a near-junk inventory worth over Rs 12,000 crore. 
 The ban will disallow sale and registration of all <keyword id="4283805" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="BS-III-Vehicles">BS-III vehicles</keyword> from April 1. 
 
Vehicle dealers will also have to face inventory holding costs and possible delays or defaults in bank loans that they had taken to buy stocks. 
 
To avoid these losses, the companies had asked to be allowed selling the existing BS-III vehicles that had already been made and dispatched to dealers. However, SC did not compromise with its decision, which would result in less pollution and more efficiency.

As on March 20th, the total inventory of commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and passenger vehicles combined was 8.24 lakh units; while some would have been sold, a major share of this number would go junk April onwards.

What’s surprising is that even as commercial vehicle makers knew that BS-III vehicles could be banned from April, they kept on manufacturing these vehicles. 
 
Now, they are left with only a few options, like upgradation of vehicles to BS-IV (if possible), or exporting them to countries that accept them. Both measures mean a good amount of cash outflow.
