The execution period for this contract spans from August 2024 to August 2025.<br /><br />MSRTC operates a fleet of over 15,000 buses. With this substantial order, Ashok Leyland buses will now dominate its fleet. These modern, fully built buses will comply with the latest Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) standards and feature AIS 153 compliant bodies.<br /><br />The order, awarded by the domestic entity MSRTC, is for the supply of BSVI OBD II Diesel Fuel Type Fully Built Passenger Buses. MSRTC, one of India's largest state transport undertakings, operates a fleet of over 15,000 buses.<br /><br />With this substantial order, Ashok Leyland buses will now dominate its fleet. These modern, fully built buses will comply with the latest Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) standards and feature AIS 153 compliant bodies.<br /><br />They will also be equipped with the proven iGEN6 BS VI OBD II technology, boasting a 197 HP H-Series Engine and Rear Air Suspension, among other advanced features.<br /><br />The buses will be manufactured at Ashok Leyland's exclusive bus body plants using state-of-the-art technology, ensuring enhanced safety, improved comfort, and a lower total cost of ownership for MSRTC.<br /><br />Shenu Agarwal, Managing Director and CEO of Ashok Leyland, expressed his excitement about the continued partnership with MSRTC.<br /><br />He stated, "We are excited to continue our long-standing partnership with the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). <p>At the center of the unusual success story is Michael O'Leary, the airline's 52-year-old Irish CEO.</p>
<p>O'Leary is nothing like the usually staid airline boss.</p>
<p>He prefers Viking and French chambermaid outfits to suits and ties. He <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/2948421/OLeary-the-man-and-the-mouth.html" target="_blank">curses at journalists</a> and uses press conferences to rant about European tax policies that drive him nuts.</p>
<p>He has required his <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2005/jun/24/theairlineindustry.travelnews">chauffeur to drive in the bus lane</a> to avoid traffic and been <a href="http://www.rte.ie/news/2010/0326/ryanair.html">accused of telling lies in court</a>.</p>
<p>And in a recent announcement that <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/ryanair-trying-to-improve-customer-service-2013-9" target="_blank">Ryanair wants to improve its service to win over more customers</a>, he didn't mince words.</p>
<p>"We should try to eliminate things that unnecessarily piss people off," he said.</p>

WiFi may just seem like a funky word for the life-sustaining force that makes internet browsing possible, but it's actually short for "Wireless Fidelity."&#xa0;</p><p>What about Bluetooth? What is the so-obvious-it's-funny explanation for the technology that made you think strangers on the bus were talking to you when in reality they were just on the phone?</p><p>As it turns out, Bluetooth is named after a 10th-century Scandinavian king.</p><p><span>Harald "<span>Blåtand" </span>Gormsson was a viking king who ruled Denmark and Norway from the year 958 until 985. There are many accomplishments credited to him, but greatest of all is that he united Denmark and Norway under his rule. </span></p><p><span>Gormsson was also known for his dead tooth, which had a very dark blue/grey shade. It was so prominent that his nickname was <span>Blåtand, which literally translates from Danish to "Bluetooth."&#xa0;</span></span></p><p><span>But what could this possibly have to do a wireless technology that lets you use a hands-free headset while you drive?&#xa0;<br /></span></p><p>Fast-forward a little over 1,000 years to 1996, and short-range radio technology was in its very early stages - <span>Intel had a program called Biz-RF, the Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson had MC-Link, and Nokia had Low Power RF. The three powerhouses quickly recognized that the best way to drive the technology forward within the industry and avoid fragmentation would be to create a single wireless standard.&#xa0;<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div></span></p><p><span>In December of that year, representatives from each group met&#xa0;at the Ericsson plant in Lund, Sweden to plan their industry-standard technology. Robert Neller at his confirmation hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee, July 23, 2015.</p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>While Neller admitted that US forces would remain in the Middle East for some time to come, he predicted "a slight pullback" from that region and a reorientation toward Russia and the Pacific.</p><p><span>"So I believe we'll turn our attention there," he said, <a href="https://www.military.com/daily-news/2017/12/20/marines-want-pull-back-middle-east-russia-pacific-loom.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to Military.com.</span></p><h2><span>'We've got them right where we wanted'</span></h2><p>Countries throughout Europe have grown wary of an increasingly assertive Russia, especially the Baltic states and others in Eastern Europe.</p><p>But Norway and others in Western Europe are concerned as well. Norway has publicly discussed ways to <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/russia-tank-active-protection-systems-norway-nato-countermeasures-2017-5" target="_blank" rel="noopener">counter Russian armor</a> and boosted its defense spending.</p><p>Earlier this year, Oslo <a href="https://www.defensenews.com/digital-show-dailies/surface-navy-association/2017/01/08/northern-triangle-us-uk-and-norway-s-expanding-alliance/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">decided</a> to buy five P-8 maritime surveillance aircraft - a move that tied it closer to the US and UK, with whom it maintained a surveillance network during the Cold War. In February, Norway decided <a href="https://www.defensenews.com/global/2017/02/03/eying-russia-norway-pumps-prior-savings-into-its-defense-budget/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">to shift funds</a> from cost-savings programs into military acquisitions. That same month, Norway <a href="https://www.defensenews.com/naval/2017/02/03/norway-joins-forces-with-germany-to-procure-new-submarines/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">teamed up</a> with Germany to buy four new submarines - two for each. (None of Germany's subs are currently <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/ap-germanys-entire-u-boat-fleet-is-out-of-action-2017-10" target="_blank" rel="noopener">operational</a>.)</p><p>In November, Norway accepted the <a href="https://www.defensenews.com/air/2017/11/06/norway-accepts-its-first-three-f-35s/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">first three F-35A</a> fighters to be permanently stationed in the country, joining the seven Norway has stationed in Arizona for training. This month, Norway <a href="https://www.defensenews.com/land/2017/12/20/norway-orders-k9-howitzers-in-latest-win-for-south-korean-arms-industry/?utm_source=Sailthru&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=EBB%2012-21&amp;utm_term=Editorial%20-%20Military%20-%20Early%20Bird%20Brief" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed a contract</a> for 24 South Korean-made K9 self-propelled howitzers and ammunition resupply vehicles.</p><p>US forces have also moved throughout Europe in recent months for training and deployments to bolster partners in the region, but the rotational force in Norway has been particularly irksome for Russia, which shares a 120-mile border with Norway.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>US Marine Corps/Sgt. Erik Estrada</span></p><p class="caption">US Marines with Black Sea Rotational Force 17.1 board a bus after arriving in Vaernes, Norway, January 16, 2017.</p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>US Marines in Norway have been hesitant to link their deployment directly to Russia - going as far as to <a href="https://www.military.com/daily-news/2017/05/16/for-marine-corps-force-in-norway-russia-is-a-four-letter-word.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">avoid saying</a> "Russia" in public - but Moscow has still expressed displeasure with their presence.</p><p>A Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said relations between Oslo and Moscow were "put to a test" when Marines arrived in January. Moscow <a href="https://www.apnews.com/1e686961b1434764921e9fb72cfa2f54/Russia-warns-Norway-that-hosting-US-Marines-will-hurt-ties" target="_blank" rel="noopener">warned</a> its neighbor in June that the Marines' deployment could "escalate tensions and lead to destabilization" in the region.</p><p>Norwegian officials themselves have also <a href="https://www.military.com/daily-news/2017/12/21/marine-leaders-highlight-norway-units-role-deterrent-russia.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">questioned</a> their government about what the Marines are doing there, <a href="https://www.militarytimes.com/video/2017/10/27/norways-opposition-party-questions-role-of-us-marines/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">out of concern</a> that the country's leadership could be shifting its defense policy without debate.</p><p>For some of the Marines, Moscow's displeasure appears to be a point of pride.</p><p><span>"They don't like the fact that we oppose them, and we like the fact that they don't like the fact that we oppose them," Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Ronald Green <a href="https://www.military.com/daily-news/2017/12/21/marine-leaders-highlight-norway-units-role-deterrent-russia.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told Military.com</a>. "Three hundred of us, surrounded by them. We've got them right where we wanted, right? <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>The first game of the new NFL season hadn't even ended when it dawned on me that my decision to make NFL picks against the spread every week was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad idea for my mental health and overall anxiety levels.&#xa0;</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I'd picked the Patriots&#xa0;to cover the 7-point spread at home against Pittsburgh, and they were cruising. Brady was dialed in, Gronk looked like a demigod, there were mild cheating allegations against New England in the first quarter-this was as standard as a Pats game as I'd ever seen. I was feeling inordinately confident about my Patriots -7 pick. Too confident, you might say.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">And&#xa0;then Ben Roethlisberger, down 14, got the ball back in garbage time and found Antonio Brown in the back of the end-zone. The Patriots win by 7. A&#xa0;back-door push with 7 seconds left. 7 seconds!&#xa0;</span></p><p><div></div></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It was basically all downhill from there. Sunday went predictably horrible: I made 6 overall picks and only one turned out to be correct. Each successive failure brought with it more frustration, to the point that I started to wonder&#xa0;if assigning me this column each week was an elaborate and cruel bit of new-hire hazing put on by my editors.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Fittingly, only my beloved Giants seemed capable of matching my incompetence. When your team's running back is taking to the New York Post to write apologetic op-eds for throwing your team's&#xa0;quarterback under the bus, and it's only Week 1, you know you're in for a long season. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The NFL is amazing in this way: for a league that takes itself so seriously, the teams are all such messes! Every&#xa0;week a handful of different franchises&#xa0;make new and totally compelling arguments for why <em>they</em> are the least competent team in all of football. At this point we&#xa0;take for granted the fact that the Browns have lost 11-consecutive Week 1 games. We've practically forgotten that&#xa0;Robert Griffin III is playing safety for Washington's scout team. Instead we have Eli Manning giving his teammates instructions that I'm not sure a back-up Division III quarterback would have&#xa0;been stupid enough to make.&#xa0;The NFL is so dumb. It's great.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">But back to my picks. After my pitiful display last week, I'm telling myself that nobody knows anything in Week 1 and that there's nowhere to go but up. I'm also picking every game this week, which means I'll either improve my record&#xa0;or&#xa0;give myself a panic attack.
