Starting off this month, with <keyword id="57704" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shillong">Shillong</keyword>, Only Much Louder’s NH7 <keyword id="142259" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Weekender">weekender</keyword> in its seventh edition, is coming back with a bang! 
 
Since 2010 when the festival started , over 100 artists across diverse music genres have played at the Weekender each year. 
 Business Insider caught up with the buzzing CEO of Only Much Louder, <keyword id="150111" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vijay-Nair">Vijay Nair</keyword> to find out why weekender is India’s only platform for <keyword id="827435" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="independent-music">independent music</keyword> performances. ‘ When we started <keyword id="326204" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="OML">OML</keyword>, it was all about supporting and managing artists. I think the reason we got so huge has been just Word of mouth. We started with Pune and we have quickly been adding multiple cities since the first Weekender. We have organised 17 NH7 weekenders so far and we don’t intend on stopping anytime soon.’ 
 <keyword id="6357049" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nair">Nair</keyword> thinks that India has so much undiscovered talent that is waiting to be unearthed,’ Our artist lineups are a big mix, from someone like AR <keyword id="11852" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rahman">Rahman</keyword> whom people had never seen live to fresh new faces who are playing their first gig at the fest, we have a great variety.’ 
 
On the lineup in each city, he says,’What works in one city might not work everywhere. We certainly keep the audience in mind before even doing one-day fests. What we have seen that most Indians are open to experimentation; they just don’t like Rock, Metal, Indie or Pop, they are willing to listen to different artists and sample everything, even though they might have their favourites.’ 
 This year, OML disappointed Delhi by skipping the city altogether and Nair was very practical about it,’ The problem is that Delhi kids don’t want to travel; to <keyword id="61537" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Dwarka">Dwarka</keyword> or to <keyword id="6356788" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Greater-Noida">Greater Noida</keyword> where we found suitable venues. In Central and south Delhi, we face a lot of issues with Government policies and controlled venues, so we decided to skip it and focus on our two biggest NH7s- Shillong and Pune.’ 
 
While many die-hard Delhi fans might decide to travel north-east to hear their favorite artists live, we decided to give you a glimpse into the colourful musical Mecca that is the Weekender.

One can register for the facility at the RedGiraffe website by filling in one’s own details and that of the landlord, along with a scanned copy of the rent agreement. Once the process is complete, the user would get a RedGiraffe ID (RG-ID) which would then need to be registered with the credit card issuer. After registering, rent payments will automatically get credited in trge landlord's bank account on fixed dates of every month. For the service, the user needs to pay a transaction fee of 0.39% plus taxes-a minimum Rs 39 per transaction payable for all the banks except SBI Card. "Even while buying an online flight ticket for Rs 3,000, consumers usually have to shell out Rs 300 or more as convenience charges. However, the transaction cost on RentPay has been drastically subsidised for end consumers," RedGirraffe CEO <keyword id="946036" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Manoj-Nair">Manoj Nair</keyword> told <a href="RedGirraffe">ET</a>. "Over and above the standard and bonus reward points, we regularly run cashback offers with leading brands which gives more value to consumers. It was then that I got the first bit of information about the cash ban and my first reaction was "Oh wow, what needs to be done now."  It was around 830 PM when the news created a buzz around the attending India inc. leaders. Even as, at the ceremony a podium discussion on the benefits of corporate governance was being moderated for former <keyword id="35210" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="sebi">SEBI</keyword> chief M. <keyword id="164863" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Damodaran">Damodaran</keyword>. Even as the buzz around the room grew louder, it was at this point that Sharma stood up and asked Damodaran a question, "What will be the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Demonetization-effect-You-can-book-a-helper-to-stand-in-ATM-lines-for-Rs-90-with-this-start-up/articleshow/55560665.cms">impact of demonetization </a>that our PM has just announced on corporate governance?" 
 <keyword id="6453959" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="PAT">Pat</keyword> came Damodaran's reply, ‘This question is out of syllabus!' 
 Even as business leaders gathered at the ceremony, began discussing the wider implications of such a stand, <keyword id="6357120" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="PayTM">Paytm</keyword> founder's mind was occupied with two things- 
 
1) To figure out a place to take his family out for dinner 
 
2) Get in touch with his team in Delhi 
 As he jostled out the media's way, gathered at the ceremony, safely venturing into the iconic Leopold cafe in Mumbai, to have a family dinner, it is there that he made his first call to his marketing chief, <keyword id="1024568" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shankar-Nath">Shankar Nath</keyword>, says Sharma, ‘I asked <keyword id="4458" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shankar">Shankar</keyword> if they had started working on an ad that could be taken out next morning to which I gained a reassuring reply that the plan was already underway and I soon started draft samples that were being planned. My first instinct told me that we need to credit the man the brave man that has taken this call.' 
 It was already 11 15 PM and most newspapers had refused to carry the full page ad that Paytm had designed for the occasion. Fortunately for them, despite the late hour, the Telegraph and the <keyword id="6518498" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hindustan-Times">Hindustan Times</keyword> agreed to carry the full page as that congratulated Modi for the disruptive decision. 
 
 
 Sharma's problems were not to end here. Even as the country went through the most crucial economic change since liberalization in 1991, Sharma had to catch a flight to <keyword id="24349" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hong-Kong">Hong Kong</keyword> in the next 24 hours. 'I felt like a fish out of the water but I'm glad that I had a team that had already swung into action. At Paytm we believe that speed is our biggest bet and that's exactly what our actions represented.' 
 
Back at the Paytm’s headquarters in Noida, Sudhanshu Gupta, VP- Business, Paytm relayed the atmosphere at the office. 'We got into a meeting at 9 AM which went on till 4 30 PM. Sure, after the launch Paytm’s payments bank, work at our end will increase but we are willing to put in the hours for the results.' 
 Paytm’s payments bank was expected to launch by <keyword id="188" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Diwali">Diwali</keyword> this year but the pending approval from RBI means delay but Sharma is optimistic,’ It shouldn’t take more than four to six weeks after the license is issued by Central bank. So let’s say if I were to get the approval by end of this month, the Payments bank will launch by January 2017.’ 
 When asked about his opinion on <keyword id="15491" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Airtel">Airtel</keyword>’s payments bank, Sharma said,’ We never talk about our competitors because what we are doing is never related to what they’re up to.’ 
 
That differentiation reflected today when Paytm launched POS on its platform for offline merchants, something that hasn’t been done in the country before.

EXCLUSIVE: Inside Paytm, the first 24 hours after demonetization

For the umpteenth time, when asked about <keyword id="6354884" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Delhi-Daredevils">Delhi Daredevils</keyword>' wretched season, Kevin Pietersen replied with his most sobering assessment of the worst team in the league. "We've tried a lot of things, nothing has gone according to plan. It's about executing your skills, which we haven't done well enough. No one's here to blame anyone. If you're good enough, you'll turn it around." 

	Had he replied in Gaelic, or spoken about the merits of the Bernoulli Equation, it would have had a similarly hollow tone. Those were the words of a beaten man, left to crinkle his nose at the stench of a rotting corpse of a side.
 

	Everything about Daredevils is in shambles. Their campaign began with Pietersen - acquired for Rs 9 crore - miss the initial few games due to injury. The player to get a look-in, Ross Taylor, struggled to dominate with the bat. In the midst of a poor start, Daredevils lost fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile to injury early in the season. Then went Saurabh Tiwary with a shoulder injury. Around this time, Daredevils released three uncapped players, one of which was batsman Milind Kumar, the distant but only local connect the franchise had. Whatever changes were made, results were not forthcoming. They have been poor with the bat, ball, in the field and in their thinking.
 Much has been written about the management holding back <keyword id="69475" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="JP-Duminy">JP Duminy</keyword> and Kedar Jadhav, the two batsmen with the highest averages and strike-rates this season, and how denying them more deliveries to face has resulted in sub-standard totals. Daredevils' problems are deeper than that. They just aren't ticking. Thursday's match in Ahmedabad against Rajasthan Royals cannot be termed a contest. It was an embarrassment. Pietersen's decision to field came a cropper as RR piled up their highest total this season, 201 for 6, to which Daredevils replied with 139 for 9, losing half their wickets inside ten overs. With qualification for the <keyword id="6354312" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="IPL">IPL</keyword> 7 play-offs out of the question, you could have expected DD to make a statement, play with some freedom and express themselves. It didn't happen. What panned out was a yawn-inducing mismatch. <keyword id="172496" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Rahul-Shukla">Rahul Shukla</keyword>, after going for 41 in the previous match, conceded 44 from his four. Siddarth Kaul went for 34 in three. Manoj Tiwary, who rarely bowls, conceded 28 in his two overs, one of which was the 19th of RR's innings that cost 17. On the same track on which Ajinkya Rahane cruised, Kevon Cooper teased, Sanju Samson belted 40 off 25 and James Faulkner finished with 23 off eight balls, Daredevils made 139 for 9. Only one batsman crossed 17; six made single-digit scores. Daredevils' entire season has been a colossal waste of batting talent, with <keyword id="6355316" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Dinesh-Karthik">Dinesh Karthik</keyword> (the second most expensive purchase of the IPL auction at Rs 12.5 crores) repeatedly falling to leg-side heaves regardless of the match situation, an IPL pro in <keyword id="57265" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Murali-Vijay">Murali Vijay</keyword> failing to make an impact, Pietersen not playing a single convincing innings and the domestic pool not stepping up, barring Jadhav. 

	Compare this to RR's success. Rahane has 316 runs this season, which is more than Pietersen, Taylor and Mayank Agarwal have managed. When you consider that Karun Nair, a rookie domestic batsman playing his first IPL, has scored significantly more than Pietersen, you get a sense of why Daredevils are languishing at the bottom of the table.
 

	This is not to take away from how well Royals bowled. Dhawal Kulkarni was accurate and probing, Faulkner struck in the only over he bowled early on, Pravin Tambe dismissed the dangerous Duminy and Rajat Bhatia prised out two important wickets with his canny dibbly-dobblers. The sucker ball to get Taylor caught and bowled was a wicket Bhatia will cherish.
 With seven wins from 11 matches, Rajasthan remain at third on the points table and look poised to make it to the play-offs, which leaves <keyword id="6354467" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Kolkata-Knight-Riders">Kolkata Knight Riders</keyword>, Sunrisers Hyderabad and <keyword id="6354506" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Royal-Challengers-Bangalore">Royal Challengers Bangalore</keyword> in a three-way fight to take the last spot in the top four. Daredevils, like Mumbai Indians, have only pride to play for. But if they keep playing like they did against Royals, even that might be too much to expect.

IPL: Delhi Daredevils' Wretched Downward Spiral Continues

The <keyword id="19895875" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi-High-Court" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Delhi High Court" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Delhi High Court">Delhi High Court</keyword> on Tuesday dismissed Chief Minister <keyword id="19901384" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Arvind-Kejriwal" source="keywords">Arvind Kejriwal</keyword>'s plea challenging his arrest by the <keyword id="19895344" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Enforcement-Directorate" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Enforcement Directorate" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Enforcement Directorate">Enforcement Directorate</keyword> in connection with the <keyword id="19984297" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Excise-policy-case" source="keywords">Excise policy case</keyword> and said that Kejriwal's arrest is not in contravention of Law and remand can't be termed "illegal". The bench of Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma said, ED was in possession of enough material which had led them to arrest Kejriwal. Non-joining of the investigation by Kejriwal, delay caused by him was also impacting those in judicial custody. The material collected by the Enforcement Directorate reveals that Arvind Kejriwal conspired and was actively involved in the use and concealment of proceeds of crime. The ED case also reveals that he was involved in his personal capacity as well as the convenor of <keyword id="19935664" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Aam-Aadmi-Party" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Aam Aadmi Party" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Aam Aadmi Party">Aam Aadmi Party</keyword>. The court further stated that this court is of the opinion that the accused has been arrested and his arrest and remand have to be examined as per law and not as per the timing of elections. Kejriwal's challenge to the timing of arrest before General elections in the absence of any mala fide on part of ED not sustainable, said the court. Arvind Kejriwal through the plea alleged that the ED has at the time of arrest "failed to establish" that the petitioner is guilty of committing activities stipulated under Section 3, i.e., be it one of concealment, possession, acquisition, use of proceeds of crime as much as projecting it as untainted property or claiming it to be so. Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate in relation to the excise policy case. The trial court on April 1, sent Arvind Kejriwal to judicial custody till April 15, 2024. ED alleged that the Aam Adami Party (AAP) is the major beneficiary of the proceeds of crime generated in the alleged liquor scam. The agency also claimed that Kejriwal was directly involved in the formation of the excise policy. The case pertains to alleged irregularities and money laundering in framing and implementing the Delhi Excise Policy 2022, which was later scrapped. While Kejriwal was not named in the FIRs registered by the ED or the Central Bureau of Investigation in the Delhi excise policy case, his name first found a mention in the ED's chargesheet, wherein the agency claimed that he allegedly spoke to one of the main accused, Sameer Mahendru, in a video call and asked him to continue working with co-accused and AAP communications-in-charge Vijay Nair. Nair was among the first people to be arrested by the CBI in the case, in 2022. Subsequently, former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh were arrested in connection with the case. The latter, however, was granted bail by the Supreme Court last week. Kejriwal arrest not in contravention of Law, remand can't be termed 'illegal': Delhi HC

Hyderabad-based businessman <keyword id="15211274" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="boinpally-abhishek-rao" source="Orion">Boinpally Abhishek Rao</keyword>, who has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (<keyword id="6354572" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="cbi" source="Orion">CBI</keyword>) in <keyword id="14762568" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi-excise-policy-scam" source="Orion">Delhi excise policy scam</keyword> allegedly involving the national capital's Deputy Chief Minister <keyword id="6354681" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="manish-sisodia" source="Orion">Manish Sisodia</keyword>, is associated with several companies. He is a director of Anoos Electrolysis &amp; Obesity Pvt Ltd, Anoos Health &amp; Wellness Pvt Ltd, Robin Distribution LLP, Agasti Ventures, SS Mines &amp; Minerals, Master Sand LLP, Neoverse Realty Pvt Ltd, Zeus Networking Pvt Ltd and Valuecare Esthetics Pvt Ltd. Considered close to a key leader of the ruling party in Telangana, he is the first person from <keyword id="6354552" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="hyderabad" source="Orion">Hyderabad</keyword> to be arrested in the case. Rao was allegedly found to be acting as a south lobby. The investigating agency suspects that he committed irregularities through cartelization. Rao is the second person to be arrested in the excise policy. The CBI had earlier arrested Vijay Nair, former CEO of events company- Only Much Louder. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also arrested liquor trader Sameer Mahendru of Indo Spirit. He is said to have business links with Arun Ramachandra Pillai, a resident of Hyderabad and one of the persons booked by the CBI in the case. Rao's arrest came after several rounds of raids conducted by the CBI and ED at various places in Hyderabad, including in the office of a media house. He was also reportedly questioned by the CBI a couple of times in the case. According to the CBI investigation, Arun used to collect money from Sameer Mahendru for onward transmission to the accused public servants through Vijay Naidu. The liquor license holders allegedly issued bills to retail vendors to divert funds to public servants involved in irregularities. This is where some companies from Hyderabad are believed to have helped in illegal transactions. Further questioning of the CBI is likely to unearth the role of some other suspects in the case. Six to seven to eight businessmen and a couple of politicians and officials from Telugu states are believed to be involved in the case. The officials hailing from Telugu states are said to be holding key positions in the Delhi government. The Hyderabad-based businessmen were reported having colluded with politicians and officials in the Delhi government to influence the liquor policy of that state to derive monetary benefits from it. Business Insider spoke to three spacetech entrepreneurs at TIE Delhi’s India Internet Day conference on September 23. The early entrants of the spacetech domain — Dhruva Space’s Sanjay Nekkanti, Pixxel’s Awais Ahmed and Kawa Space’s Kris Nair — shared their inputs on the experites needed to start a spacetech business. “You can build a system, you can build better and more accurate monitoring of methane emissions. You can build better transportation systems. If you have a much cheaper way to kind of launch a bunch of satellites to any orbit there is no doubt. You have better ideas to kind of work around or in orbit, last mile transfer, small clusters beam clusters...The opportunities are endless,” Nair added. They all had one common thing to share — the will to start a business. Irrespective of their own diverse backdowns, the trio have been killing it in the Indian spacetech industry with several big names backing their business. Nair of Kawa Space, which is backed by Cure.Fit’s Mukesh Bansal and Paytm’s Sharma, noted that if someone has the desire to build something for the space industry, they just need to understand where the big gaps are. They can always build better versions of the already existing mechanisms or find the way to launch satellites for much cheaper, he added. Ahmed’s Pixxel further added that one does not need any connections with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) or be connected to the space industry from the beginning. The Internet is a great place to learn since there are PhD studies, reports, books and the reading material available on it, he said. Besides this, one can always reach out to entrepreneurs in this domain over social media platforms like LinkedIn to understand more about the segment. “The biggest space entrepreneur today, Elon Musk, was not associated with anything related to space. He learnt,” Ahmed added. Speaking from his engineering experience, Dhruva Space’s Nekkanti added there is a lot of scoop for growth hacking as a lot of technologies that are built for earth can come in handy for space operations as well with certain updates. “So, for people who want to be an entrepreneur in this industry if you have an, I talk from an engineer's perspective, if you have an engineering degree. You're currently working somewhere, it could be the IT industry. I think there could be some parts of that that can be applied in the space industry,” he added. Even funding is not a challenge The Indian space sector was valued at $7 billion back in 2019 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of $50 billion by 2024, a PWC report <a href="https://www.pwc.in/assets/pdfs/research-insights/2020/preparing-to-scale-new-heights.pdf">estimates</a>. Funding and garnering the interest of the investors was definitely one of the biggest challenges that the Indian spacetech industry faced until last year. There were no policies around it and investors simply didn’t want to take the risk. Mumbai Angels-backed Dhruva and Techstars-backed Pixxel had to talk to 100s of investors before they could actually close a funding round, However, the segment saw a ray of hope when the Indian government decided to privatise the space and allowed more companies to enter this domain. On May 21 earlier this year, both Anand Mahindra-backed Agnikul and Mukesh Bansal-backed Skyroot bagged<a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/startups/news/skyroot-aerospace-raises-11-million-in-funding-with-plans-to-have-vikram-1-on-the-launch-pad-by-mid-2022/articleshow/82788901.cms"> $11 million </a>each from several big names in the industry. These were the biggest rounds that Indian spacetech startups have raised to date. We asked three spacetech entrepreneurs what it takes to enter the field and they listed out the opportunities

New Delhi, Feb 1 () Budget 2020 announcement that insurance behemoth LIC will be listed was well received by market participants who said this will be "IPO of the decade" akin to the Saudi Aramco listing.
 Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday said Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) will be listed as part of the government disinvestment initiative.
 A "highlight of the budget is the LIC IPO, which is akin to the Saudi Aramco listing for Indian capital markets, and will be IPO of the decade," Vijay Bhushan, President, Association of National Exchanges Members of India (ANMI) said.
 According to Krishna Kumar Karwa, Managing Director, Emkay Global Financial Services, the LIC IPO will be a big positive for corporate governance and transparency and will open up one more avenue for fund raising for the government over the years. 
 Metropolitan Stock Exchange, Interim CEO, Balu Nair said: "The LIC listing will be eagerly awaited by investors and will provide huge fillip to capital raising through the primary market."
 The government proposes to sell a part of its holding in LIC through an initial public offer, Sitharaman said while presenting Budget 2020-21.
 "The government will sell part of LIC through its listing in the stock market which is also a positive trigger for the market," Amit Gupta, CO-Founder and CEO, TradingBells.
 Jaideep Hansraj, MD and CEO of Kotak Securities said listing of LIC would help bridge a gap in the Fiscal Deficit for FY21.
 Currently, the government owns the entire 100 per cent stake in LIC.

So far, e-commerce players were not allowed to function in containment zones at all. “Our collaboration with BMC is intended to support those in the containment zones to access essential items conveniently and safely,” said Prakash Rochlani, Director, Last Mile Operations, Amazon India. During Lockdown 3.0, Amazon has also started delivering non-essential orders to green and orange zones in the country. However, the metropolitan cities of India that are the top markets for e-commerce platforms are in the red zone where only essentials can be delivered. How will it function Amazon will deliver orders to a designated delivery point in the vicinity of the containment zone, from where volunteers will further deliver the packages to the customer’s doorstep. Consumers will have to place their orders on the Amazon app, and select their delivery location in the containment zone. Volunteers from the containment zone will then pick up the packages and deliver it to the user's doorsteps. Mumbai is one of the worst hit cities in the coronavirus pandemic and has over 10,000 cases in the city. Amazon will now deliver to containment zones in Mumbai ⁠— these are the eligible areas

<ul><li>The Brihanmumbai Corporation (BMC), the Mumbai’s civic body identified over 383 containment zones in Mumbai. </li><li>The Ministry of Health defines COVID-19 containment zones as the area where several positive cases of Coronavirus are found. </li><li>The BMC also prepared an <a href="http://stopcoronavirus.mcgm.gov.in/insights-on-map">interactive map for Mumbaikars</a> to identify Coronavirus containment zones and information related to Coronavirus isolation zones. </li><li>Mumbai accounts for 686 active Coronavirus cases out of 1,135 in Maharashtra. </li></ul>The BMC extended the containment zones from 241 to 383 on April 14. Here is a list of extended containment zones containment zones in Mumbai . The authorities have also said that it will disallow entry and exit into those societies to contain the virus. What are containment zones? The Ministry of Health defines COVID-19 containment zones as the area where several positive cases of Coronavirus are found. “The cluster containment strategy would be to contain the disease within a defined geographic area by detecting cases in the nascent stage, breaking the chain of transmission and preventing its spread to new areas. This would include geographic quarantine, social distancing measures, enhanced active surveillance, testing all suspected cases, isolation of cases, quarantine of contacts and risk communication to create awareness among the public on preventive public health measures,” said the Ministry of Health. The difference between a hotspot and a containment zone is that the former are not seized but largely monitored for suspected cases. However, when a place is declared as containment zones, the areas are completely sealed, and no outdoor or indoor movements are allowed until permitted by the authorities. As of now, the government is hoping to arrest the disease within these hotspots and ensure unabated spreading does not occur. It is also considering extending the 21-day lockdown which is expected to end on April 14.
