You also get the ViewSonic branding at the back, which is larger than the front. The monitor’s stand is not height adjustable, meaning you cannot adjust the height according to your needs. It does come with tilt support, which allows you to make slight changes. While it would have been good to get a height adjustable stand, the large display meant that I did not need to change the height. These technologies ensure that you can have a blur-free gaming experience with minimal stuttering and no tearing. It comes with the Dell logo at the back, with the rest of the back being empty. The laptop comes with a 2-in-1 form factor, meaning it can also be used as a tablet. It features a sturdy hinge that allows you to comfortably convert it from a laptop to a tablet and vice versa, without worrying too much. The company says that this is the most compact business laptop in the market and it’s true. The weight is slightly on the higher side but that has been done to make it durable and sturdy. The metal edges and soft-touch matte finish give it a premium look and it feels good when you hold it. One of my gripes about a lot of laptops is that they are difficult to open with on hand. Opening the Dell Latitude 9450 may be an issue sometimes as you may not find anything on the lid to hold onto. Unlike Apple’s MacBook which can be opened easily with a single hand, I often had to use both hands to open the laptop. Once you open the laptop, you appreciate the design even more. The keyboard offers a smooth and velvety feel. The palm rest is also very soft and feels very comfortable to use. As it is a 2-in-1 laptop, it comes with a touch screen that is very responsive. It features an anti-smudge coating so you don’t have to worry about fingerprint smudges. While you can easily navigate the touchscreen with your fingers, Dell also offers a stylus to help you make the best out of the touchscreen. While an OLED panel would have offered improved contrast and better blacks, the IPS panel on the Latitude 9450 performs well. The trackpad is decent as well. It comes with number keys integrated, which can be activated by pressing the “NUMLK” key. During my usage, I found the keyboard to be slightly cluttered and it will take some time to get used to the layout. It is equipped with a 16-inch Quad HD+ Mini LED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, a 240Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time with Dolby Vision HDR support. <div type="image" title="Display" msid="108514962" hostid="261" sizebytes="54506" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;It comes with a vibrant display&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The resolution and the high refresh rate make it a treat to play on the laptop. The colours look great as it comes with 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The Mini LED panel ensures excellent visuals with amazing contrast with 2,304 dimming zones. The 1,100 nits brightness delivers good visibility, even under direct sunlight. I played games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Starfield and Forza Horizon 5 on the laptop, with the device offering amazing visuals in each game. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Performance" comment="subhead" text="Performance">Performance</cmsannotation> If you are looking for a powerful gaming laptop, the ROG Strix Scar 16 will not disappoint. It is equipped with the Intel Core i9 14900HX high-performance processor with 24 cores and 32 threads. This is coupled with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 16GB GDDR6 graphics. The laptop comes with 32GB DDR5 5600MHz RAM, which can be extended up to 64GB. For storage, it offers a 2TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD, which can be upgraded to 4TB. I tested the laptop with several games, including Red Dead Redemption 2 and Forza Horizon 5. Both the games performed well and the laptops were able to handle them without any issues. The powerful hardware means that you will be able to run any game at the best graphics without even having to look at the system requirements. I played Starfield and Forza Horizon 5 at maximum graphics and the laptop was able to handle them with ease. Even during extended gaming sessions, the laptop’s cooling apparatus kicked in, keeping the temperatures down. The laptop is equipped with a 90Whr battery, the battery life is not one of the strongest points of the ROG Strix Scar 16. While gaming, I was able to get around 2 and a half hours of battery life out of the device. Then again, you will mostly be gaming while you are connected, so battery life is not a very big issue. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Verdict" comment="subhead" text="Verdict">Verdict</cmsannotation> The Asus ROG Strix Scar 16 is a feature-packed laptop that ticks all the right boxes, including a vibrant display, powerful performance and decent battery life. The laptop continues to offer an aluminium and carbon fibre combination. The laptop features a minimalistic silver aluminium lid with a matte finish that prevents fingerprint smudges. It comes with the Dell logo at the back, with the rest of the back being empty. <div type="image" title="Back" msid="107330438" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The Dell XPS 17 9730 comes with a matte finish aluminium lid&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Due to the touch screen and the large battery, the laptop is on the bulkier side at 2.44 kg. So, if you are someone who often needs to use their laptop on the go, you need to consider the weight. As someone who already uses a heavy laptop, I did not find any issues with the weight. Opening the Dell XPS 17 9730 may be an issue sometimes as you may not find anything on the lid to hold on to. Unlike Apple’s MacBook which can be opened easily with a single hand, I often had to use both hands to open the laptop. On the other hand, the keyboard area is black and comes with a carbon fibre texture. It comes with a large trackpad and is equipped with two speakers on either side of the keyboard. <div type="image" title="Key" msid="107330505" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The Dell XPS 17 9730 keyboard and touchpad&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The keyboard is backlit and feels good to type on. As someone who has to type a lot, I had no issues while typing on the XPS 17 9730. The keys offer a 1.3mm travel and do not make a lot of noise. The touchpad is large, which makes it easier to use and is very responsive. The keyboard comes with a 60% layout and does not feature number buttons on the right. If you are someone who uses numbers a lot, this may not be the ideal option for you. Then again, this is aimed at creators, who don’t use numbers very often. In terms of ports, the Dell XPS 17 9730 is equipped with ample ports. It offers four Thunderbolt 4 USB Type C Ports, a full-size SD card reader and a 3.5mm audio jack As it is equipped with a powerful processor and graphics card, Dell has offered a large vent at the bottom to manage the heat. It also comes with XPS branding at the bottom. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Display" comment="subhead" text="Display">Display</cmsannotation> Coming to the display, the Dell XPS 17 9730 is equipped with a 17-inch 4K UHD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 3840 x 2400 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate. <div type="image" title="Display" msid="107330520" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The Dell XPS 17 9730 comes with a 17-inch display&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The display offers a 500 nits brightness, which is quite good for a laptop and allows you to use it even when under the sun. It offers 100% Adobe RGB minimum and 94% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. While an OLED panel would have offered higher brightness and superior colours, the IPS panel on the XPS 17 9730 performs well. The high resolution and colour accuracy make it a great option for content creators who need to be very careful with colours. The low refresh rate may disappoint users who may have wanted to play fast-paced action games as you will be limited to 60Hz. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Performance" comment="subhead" text="Performance">Performance</cmsannotation> In addition to a large display, the Dell XPS 17 9730 is also packed with the 13th gen Intel Core i9-13900H processor coupled with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics. The laptop is available in two variants, offering up to 32GB DDR5 4800 MHz RAM and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD. You can further upgrade the storage to up to 8TB. The powerful combination means the laptop is able to carry everything that you throw at it with ease. You can easily multitask on the device with several applications running. Considering the processor and graphics card combination, I also tried a few games on the laptop, including Red Dead Redemption 2. The laptop was able to handle these heavy games without any issues at the highest graphics. <div type="image" title="Bottom" msid="107330533" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The vent at the bottom&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> To keep the laptop cool, it comes with dual fans and a large vapour chamber at the bottom. While the vapour chamber and the fans work well, it is only a laptop at the end of the day and it starts heating up during extended gaming sessions. The Dell XPS 17 9730 is equipped with a large 97Whr battery that easily lasts for a day with normal usage. If we add in some light gaming and video streaming, the laptop still offers over 8 hours of usage, which is great. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Verdict" comment="subhead" text="Verdict">Verdict</cmsannotation> The Dell XPS 17 9730 is a good laptop that ticks a lot of boxes, including powerful hardware, large display and an excellent battery. At the same time, it is on the heavier side and the price is on the higher side. If you are looking for a powerful laptop and do not mind the price tag, the Dell XPS 17 9730 is an excellent option. EV startup Vidyut on Tuesday said it has raised $10 million in its Series A fundraise (a mix of equity and debt funding) led by 3one4 Capital, and will deploy new funds to scale its new offerings that include EV insurance, lifecycle management and EV resale. The round also witnessed participation from new and existing investors namely, Saison Capital, <keyword id="20657706" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="zephyr-peacock" source="keywords">Zephyr Peacock</keyword>, Force Ventures, a venture debt fund Alteria Capital and CEO of Udaan, <keyword id="20483955" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sujeet-kumar" source="keywords">Sujeet Kumar</keyword>. Founded in 2021, the startup said it aims to expand its presence to 40 cities and will double its team size by the end of FY25 as it prepares to build a full stack EV ecosystem.
