New Delhi, May 26 () Tata Trusts on Tuesday said it has tied up with two medical institutions to assist some of their healthcare professionals augment skills in critical care in COVID-19 management through an online training. The company has partnered with Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore and Care Institute of Health Sciences (CIHS), Hyderabad along with the Tata Group for this initiative. Under the programme, 22-hour free online training for medical professionals on COVID-19 critical care has been curated which is meant for specific staff chosen by identified hospitals, Tata Trusts said in a statement. "Tata Trusts believes that ICU physicians and intensivists, specialised in critical care management, will require support of a wider cohort of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff to treat COVID-19 patients. The intent of the training programmes is to meet this need by acquainting non-ICU professionals with the fundamental principles and practices of critical care," it added. The training includes essentials of interventions and procedures in ICUs, orientation of critical care skills like airway management and ventilator management, and how to triage a criticality as mild, moderate or severe and refer cases to appropriate facilities, the statement said. "The programmes will also cover essentials of managing variegated facilities for COVID-19 management, such as isolation centres, quarantine centres, and management of service areas and patients with mild illness," it added. CMC Vellore's method trains and develops master trainers, who in turn can coach wider groups in their respective facilities. CIHS Hyderabad's method directly trains small groups. Both the institutions have designed their programmes such that participants can provide the required support to their intensivist and ICU colleagues should the need arise. This is the fourth such intervention of Tata Trusts to support India in its COVID-19 response. It has upgraded four government hospital buildings, two in Uttar Pradesh and two in Maharashtra, into COVID-19 treatment centres. The facilities, including both in-patient and out-patient wings, are permanent and will enduringly enhance healthcare in their locations, even after the immediate purpose is met. It believes that it can bring in efficiency and transparency, as the device can record every stroke of the pen. ‘Zero data loss’ The entire process of writing and evaluation will not use paper. This solution can be extended to objective and descriptive exams as well. Their device works in sync with PEXA software ecosystem which can streamline the entire process of examination. The device records all the semester exams and tracks all the impressions on the DigiTaal while writing answers. “We conducted over 1.5 million paperless exams with zero loss of data. Chennai, Apr 23 () Private sector ICICI Bank onThursday said it will launch mobile ATM services in Tamil Naduafter its successful launch in New Delhi, Mumbai and Varanasi,aimed at serving customers at their respective residences inview of the COVID-19 lockdown.The ATM vans would be stationed at various localitiesin consultations with the local government authorities andwould offer the service till the lockdown ends, ICICI Banksaid in a statement.The mobile ATMs have been deployed in Ranipet nearVellore under this initiative.Besides offering cash withdrawals, other facilitiescustomers can avail include transfer of funds, PIN changeamong others. Income Tax officials raided eight premises in Chennai and one place in Vellore and seized Rs 105 crore in old and new currencies and gold bars worth Rs 35 crore. This is considered to be the biggest seizure since PM Narendra Modi announced <keyword id="3315394" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="demonetisation">demonetisation</keyword>. 
 
The officials raided premises belonging to industrialist Shekhar Reddy, his associate Srinivasa Reddy and their agents, including a person called Prem Kumar. They also raided jewellery shops. 
 
Out of Rs 105 crore, Rs 95 crore were in old notes and Rs 10 crore mostly in the newly introduced Rs 2,000 denomination currency. 
 
The I-T department officials got a tip about Prem Kumar exchanging demonetised currencies for gold bars, and following his trail they stumbled upon the Reddy associates. 
 
"While the Reddys claimed they had bought gold bars from jewellery shops, we are investigating how they managed to get Rs 10 crore in 2,000 denomination notes when there is a restriction on cash withdrawal from bank accounts and people are standing in queues for hours to withdraw money from banks and ATMs," said an I-T official.

<ul><li>The Vellore Institute of Technology issued a circular to the men’s hostel to ban students from playing the hugely popular online game, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, on the premises. </li><li>The announcement has faced backlash on Reddit, Twitter and other social media platforms for being excessive, citing comments that reiterate that colleges are ‘for adults’. </li><li>The underlying concern is that the circular has only been issued to the men’s hostel while there are no such guidelines being put in place for the women’s hostel. </li></ul>Gaming has always been considered a ‘distraction’ or as the Vellore Institute of Technology (<keyword id="272347" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="VIT">VIT</keyword>) puts it, ‘spoiling the atmosphere of the hostel’. The engineering college has banned students from playing the Tencent game, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (<keyword id="4998506" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="pubg">PUBG</keyword>), in the men’s hostel according to a post that was shared on <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/india/comments/a59kt9/np_vit_hostel_trying_to_put_a_stop_to_late_night/">Reddit</a>. The email sent out by the institution’s warden asked students to ‘concentrate on physical games or sports and give more importance to their career growth’. In order to ensure that these guidelines are followed, students that don’t adhere to the new rule will be ‘dealt with seriously under the VIT code of conduct’. The fact that the notice has only been issued to the men’s hostel and not to the women’s hostel is a matter of grave concern. If PUBG is in fact undermining the ability of students to focus on campus, shouldn’t the standards for both genders be equal? Gaming addiction A lot of the backlash that VIT is facing on social media seem to be around if college students should be considered responsible enough to make their own decisions resonating with <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/itsarnavb">arnavb</a>’s comment on Reddit stating, “Aren’t colleges for adults?” <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/thewannabetraveller">Thewannabetraveller</a> responded saying that, “No one views college students as adults in India. At least, until you commit a crime of some sort. Then you’re the rouge baddie type guy.” That being said, the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences <a href="https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/digital-detox-this-bengaluru-clinic-helps-people-battle-tech-based-addictions/story-GvTZEBu7Kt9uEyHioOqC5M.html">reported</a> a number of cases that revealed player addiction to PUBG. Even the World Health Organisation recognised gaming as health disorder earlier this year in June. The issue at VIT This isn’t the first time that VIT’s policies have been in the crosshairs of being <a href="https://www.youthkiawaaz.com/2017/04/sexist-rules-in-vit-university/amp/">too restrictive</a>. In 2013, a female student and staff member were <a href="https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/tamil-nadu/two-vit-students-sent-home-for-dissent/article5222323.ece/amp/">fired</a> for merely questioning the disparity in curfew timings for men and women. The difference remains that even today women have to pay a ‘monetary fine’ when they meet someone of the opposite gender on or off campus after the dictated curfew timings. The circular to ban PUBG gaming in hostels has only been issued for the men’s hostel and if the game is in fact ‘spoiling the atmosphere of the hostel’, shouldn’t the women’s hostel be afforded the same guidelines? The disparity reeks of an obvious bias compounding the many gender <a href="https://www.gameaxis.com/feature/sam-says-girl-playerunknowns-battlegrounds/">stereotypes</a> <a href="https://edtimes.in/im-a-girl-who-plays-pubg-and-here-are-some-of-the-stupid-stereotypes-about-this/">within the game</a> where they have seeped offline under the assumption that women shouldn’t even be a part of the conversation. PUBG is the <a href="https://qz.com/india/1489469/tencents-pubg-is-driving-indian-gamers-crazy/">most popular</a> online battle game this year, surpassing the popularity of Fortnite and FreeFire, primarily due to their decision to introduce the game to the mobile gaming platform.
