His appeal transcends age, race, religion, gender and ethnicity. Sadhguru has an intimate involvement with nature and understanding of how human life is inextricably woven with the elements. This has guided many of Isha’s ecological initiatives. He launched Rally for Rivers (RfR) in 2017 to raise awareness about India’s dying rivers. It is currently implementing two on-ground river revitalization efforts ⁠— Cauvery Calling in the Cauvery river basin and Waghadi River Revitalization project in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra. I hope we wake up to this fact and do what is needed. If humanity has to live for a long time, you have to think like the earth, act like the earth and be the earth, because that is what you are. I am always being asked by people, Why is a spiritual leader, a yogi, planting trees? Unfortunately, in human minds, we have compartmentalized our life in such a way that we are breaking up one and hoping that the other will live,” he says. Sadhguru’s approach to ecological solutions involves raising human consciousness. Sadhguru at Global Trends Festival 2020: Simplifying Sustainability

<keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword>, India’s biggest e-commerce giant, has set up an ambitious goal to sell one out of every two units to be sold in fashion category, in the coming festive season. Additional sales are expected to come from group-owned category portals Myntra and Jabong. 
 Flipkart, earlier this year in July, acquired Jabong for $70 million, and got over 65-70% share in the online fashion market in India. "<keyword id="2547930" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Flipkart-Fashion">Flipkart Fashion</keyword> was launched in 2012 and today it commands the No. 1 position. We have the largest share of the online fashion market between 30-35%," <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Rishi+Vasudev&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Rishi Vasudev</a>, vice-president, who heads Flipkart Fashion told ET. 
 
<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=+Flipkart&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Flipkart</a>, currently is in competition with <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Amazon+India+&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Amazon India </a>for becoming the leader of the online fashion market in India. Amazon, backed by heavy investments from its US parent, is gaining on Flipkart. The gap between two players in terms of GMV is closing, with investors and analysts estimating it to be 15-20%. With <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Myntra&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Myntra</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Jabong&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Jabong</a> generating sales of around Rs 400-500 crore a month and owned by Flipkart, the company has not been stressed by the aggressive spending of <keyword id="6354743" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amazon-India">Amazon India</keyword>. 
 
Flipkart, however, has now decided to stand up to the narrowing gap and expand the gap with the help of fashion in the coming festive season, and also by increasing the sales in smartphones and in large appliances like TVs and washing machines. 
 "In terms of units, Flipkart Fashion is the largest category, but in terms of value, we are behind smartphones," <keyword id="6564425" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vasudev">Vasudev</keyword> told ET, while declining to comment on GMV numbers."By 2020, the market is estimated to be anywhere between $50-80 billion, with fashion at 30-35%. As leaders in the segment, our share as part of the overall GMV will only increase," he further added. 
 Flipkart is looking to improve the experience of these customers by signing exclusive licensing agreements with brands like Provogue, Swiss Military, <keyword id="379515" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Carlton-London">Carlton London</keyword> and Chemistry. It has also signed an exclusive brand tie-up with <keyword id="249815" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Peter-England">Peter England</keyword> to launch a wider collection of its shoes, which is the highest penetration sub-category in the segment.

A watching trend When it comes to watches which are a novelty item for most, luxury brands are a favorite. Leading the growth story of watches with 40% <keyword id="34527" type="B2BTAGS" weightage="40" keywordseo="market-share">market share</keyword> online, <keyword id="6354742" type="B2BCOMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword> has been witnessing an unusually high demand for premium watches which has been fuelled by an increase in brand awareness and purchasing power of Indian shoppers. According to a recent study released by <keyword id="6355988" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="assocham">ASSOCHAM</keyword>, the luxury retailing will grow at 25 per cent from 2013 till 2018 and is likely to touch $ 18 billion mark from the ongoing level of $ 14 billion by the end of 2018. At Flipkart, the projected growth momentum in this segment has been exceeded where premium watches priced between 15-20K have witnessed close to 250% YoY growth while premium watches priced over 10K have witnessed a 200% YoY growth in sales.

Ruling roost Men however lead the way at least in this category, “Close to 55% of sales in this category come from metros and tier I cities, with a majority of sales being concentrated in Delhi. Men contribute to close to 75% sales in this category. We aim to maintain this category’s growth momentum by increasing it by 4X times during the upcoming ‘The Big Billion Days’. Catching up with the trend of going digital, Balaji has come up with a digital platform called ALTBalaji, which they say houses the biggest library of original exclusive digital content in India. With varied shows that cater to a different audience than Balaji’s usual, the platform has had an overwhelming response, says CEO <keyword id="158783" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nachiket-Pantvaidya">Nachiket Pantvaidya</keyword>, adding that they have got close to four million downloads and customers from more than 80 countries. Unlike other players in the industry that offer viewers a free period to watch their shows, ALTBalaji provides them with free episodes of every show on <keyword id="10879" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="YouTube">YouTube</keyword>, and when they like it and want to proceed with further episodes, they can subscribe to the service. Pantvaidya feels that even though rival platforms were launched before ALTBalaji, their timing couldn’t have been better because of demonetisation and <keyword id="6354504" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Reliance-Jio">Reliance Jio</keyword>’s launch, which made an average Indian more digital- and internet friendly. Talking of the future, Pantvaidya says that India is still afar from the time when internet would replace television, but digital entertainment channels still have three defined types of audience to cater to: Indian men, who don’t have anything to watch on the television; people who would like to watch a finite series with limited episodes; and lastly, audiences who want to see better production values, which sadly Indian television can’t provide because of the compulsion of daily episodes. To gain massive success, he says that digital entertainment platforms need to create a habit of OTT viewing in Indian audience, and have affordable subscription plans to further attract them. Also, commitment to good characters and good stories is important as well. About the transition from television to internet, he says that the transition required us to deep-dive and come up with shows that were not typically Balaji-types, in order to create a variety. When asked why there’s a sudden shift from television to internet, he credits the speed and spread of internet and the technology of internet-ready devices, which has led to people watch digital shows at great speed, from anywhere across the country, and on bigger screens as per their preference. While Balaji has been stereotyping women and men in gender roles for as long as we remember, ALTBalaji, Pantvaidya suggests, is doing the opposite by bringing out female characters that defy these stereotypes. In <keyword id="4302697" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Karrle-Tu-Bhi-Mohabbat">Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat</keyword>, Sakshi Tanwar’s character is a single, working woman who is committed to her profession. While we don’t agree with the idea that in order to appear modern and unconventional, a woman needs to have an extramarital affair, we understand what he means by saying that the women in these shows are different from their television counterparts. Speaking of the financial aspects of these web series, they work on a subscriber model and not an advertising model. Therefore, they need to give it some time to work to return money. While they get new subscriptions every month, they are also coming up with a new show every 15 days, so it’s difficult to decide as of now if a particular show is financially working or not. About a year or so down the line, they might also have some way to measure the success of individual shows, but it’s too soon to talk about that, signs off Pantvaidya.

Aircel to give 1GB data for Rs 76, full talk time for Rs 86

The company is looking forward to tie up with brands, celebrities, TV channels and Bollywood movies and build stores accordingly as it feels customers are influenced by celebrities when it comes to fashion. 
 "Our data suggests that people (searching for fashion) are influenced mainly by celebrities, Bollywood, Hollywood, friends and brands. The revamped section will see the selection presented in this form,” <keyword id="1885107" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rishi-Vasudev">Rishi Vasudev</keyword>, vice-president for fashion retail at Flipkart, told ET. 
 
The company has hired a team of 100 style consultants, who will help curate outfits based on searches made by customers. 
 
However, the company clarified that any seller can list on the marketplace as it is only the presentation that will change. 
 The move is also in line with Flipkart's core strategy of focusing more on increasing listings by sellers, particularly the smaller long-tail merchants, where <keyword id="6354743" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amazon-India">Amazon India</keyword> currently has an edge. 
 
"The thinking is that we should build all categories based on our fundamental capabilities,” Krishnamurthy told ET.

Flipkart’s fashion segment is getting revamped and it’s going to be good

India's largest e-retailer <keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword> has rearranged the top-level roles in its core marketplace business, so that it can see a boost in its sales and improve its seller ecosystem. 
 
Samardeep Subandh, who had joined <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Flipkarts-ad-business-can-promote-brands-by-playing-with-data-analytics-and-customised-searches/articleshow/52308147.cms">Flipkart </a>as its marketing head in December 2015, will now look over as the head of categories and would report directly to CEO <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Flipkart-duo-Sachin-and-BinnyBansal-make-it-to-2016-TIMEs-List-of-100-Most-Influential-People-in-the-World/articleshow/51929491.cms">Binny Bansal</a>. 
 
Having worked with several FMCG giants like HUL and Marico, Subandh has over a decade of experience in sales and marketing. In his new role, he is expected to help boost sales for multiple categories, especially mobiles and appliances, which has been a major growth area for Flipkart and is currently under competition with <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Tiger-global-reduced-Amazon-stake/articleshow/52308087.cms">arch rival Amazon</a>. 
 
As per the new arrangement, Subandh would have Amit Bansal (head of large appliances), Rishi Vasudev (head of fashion retail) and Adarsh Menon (head of electronics and automobiles) reporting him.

Flipkart rearranges top level to regain lost position in online mobile sales

On Wednesday, India's largest e-tailer Flipkart announced the addition of two new members to its leadership positions. <keyword id="1885107" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rishi-Vasudev">Rishi Vasudev</keyword> joined as the new vice-president, Fashion (Retail). The other member to join Flipkart is <keyword id="2593655" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Parameswaran-Balakrishnan">Parameswaran Balakrishnan</keyword>. He joined the organisation as the new vice-president, HR for supply chain. 
 Vasudev brought along with him over 15 years of experience in the fashion and retail industry with his last stint being the CEO of <keyword id="2134530" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Calvin-Klein-India">Calvin Klein India</keyword>, said Flipkart. He started his career with the <keyword id="44373" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Aditya-Birla-Group">Aditya Birla Group</keyword>. 
 As per a statement issued by Flipkart, Vasudev has worked with companies like Louis Philippe, Arvind Brands - where he led the end-to-end makeover for brands like <keyword id="6392652" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="arrow">Arrow</keyword>, Gant and Izod. 
 
According to Mukesh Bansal, head of Fashion, Flipkart, "Fashion is very strategic to us and we have seen tremendous growth in the category this year. We are continuously expanding our selection and experience for the lifestyle category. To drive this agenda forward, we are very excited to have Rishi joining our team." 
 Parameswaran Balakrishnan has joined the organisation as vice-resident, HR for supply chain. Flipkart revealed that his role will involve driving all business partnering, talent acquisition and functional L&amp;D for supply chain at Flipkart. He has more than two decades of experience working with large organisations like <keyword id="6374528" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Toyota">Toyota</keyword> and <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword>. 
 
Mekin Maheshwari, CPO, Flipkart, expressed that these new additions to the company's leadership team show the importance it place on identifying and securing the best talent available. He also stated that Flipkart is quite excited to have Param joining us.

For Grennan, the main way to improve AI-generated content is to learn how to talk to it like a human, which means getting over the mental block of chatting with a machine.Grennan said bringing in external workers with no knowledge of the company simply to prompt models may even be counterproductive, slowing down workflows by creating an unnecessary block between the AI and the workers with specific skills."It's a bit like hiring someone that understands how to Google better," he said. "The problem is that the person already in the company and doing the work is the one who has the expertise necessary."<h2>Leave the prompting up to the AI</h2>Some research suggests an even deeper problem with the trendy new job.A recent research <a target="_blank" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2402.10949">paper</a> from Rick Battle and Teja Gollapudi at cloud computing company VMware suggests that prompt optimization may be best left up to AI models rather than the humans using them.The pair found that automatic prompt optimization — getting AI models to refine prompts themselves — produced far better results than anything a human engineer could achieve."You should never handwrite a prompt again," Battle said of the research. "Just write basic instructions, and then let the model optimize the prompt for you."Battle called prompt engineering roles "ridiculous" and a flash in the pan. He said prompting AI models is an important skill, not a job."The only people who should be working on this kind of stuff are people with formal data science backgrounds because the fundamentals here have not changed one iota," he said.Separate research from Vasudev Lal, an AI scientist at Intel Labs, reached a similar conclusion.According to Lal, automated prompt engineering consistently outperforms metrics achieved by human engineers."That's not very surprising because human engineers will only be able to explore a small fraction of the parameter space," he said.AI prompt optimization is still expensive, but it's getting cheaper as the models get more advanced, Lal said.Lal called the need for human prompt engineering a "temporary blip."The more people engage and give feedback to the models, the faster they will get to a point where they can understand human intent, he added.<h2>A headstart for workers</h2>Most prompt engineers aren't immune to the controversy surrounding their roles.Yinuo Chen, an engineer based in an advertising company in Beijing, says she already views her role as uncertain due to the pace of AI development."These tools are available to everyone — even my dad uses them sometimes," she said. "I don't know if this role will be so technical that it would require an actual official role for it in the future."While Chen thinks there'll always be a need for human agency in AI prompting, she's nervous about the technology's effect on the job market in general."I was definitely scared that generative AI would change the way that content creation works in general," she said. "AI changes so fast, and it's very difficult to pinpoint where it's going even in the next month."Daniel also knows what the critics think of her new job — but she isn't bothered."I definitely have a drive to stay ahead of the curve, and part of that is getting in this early," she said of her role.Working in lay-off-prone industries like tech and media has taught that her no job is 100% stable. (Daniel was laid off from a role at Meta in the first round of Mark Zuckerberg's cuts.)She said she's even encouraged by some of the criticism, even the comparison with Google Search."I think different standards will emerge between what everybody can do and what the expert prompting engineers can do," she said.All in all, she's feeling confident."Everybody can run a Google Search now, but I can run a better one," she said.

Demand is skyrocketing for prompt engineers, one of the hottest roles in AI. But some say it won't last.

Following Sadhguru on the largest advertisers list is micro-blogging platform Koo. It spent almost ₹87 lakh on Meta in the 90-day period. Political parties Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and BJP Gujarat also appeared on the list of top Indian advertisers on Meta. It is pertinent to note that as per India's advertising rules, not all Indian brands are not obliged to declare their spends as they don’t fall <a href="https://e4mevents.com/pitch-madison-advertising-report-2021/public/PMAR-Report-2021.pdf" data-type="tilCustomLink">under social causes category.</a> Between April 27 and July 25, Meta saw more than 12,863 advertisers from India and collected ₹13.94 crores in advertising revenues. As per analytics platform <a href="https://napoleoncat.com/stats/facebook-users-in-india/2022/07/">Napolean Cat,</a> there were 515,800,000 Facebook users in India in July 2022, which accounted for 36.2% of its entire population.
