However, while many are taking to it like fish to water, many aren't convinced yet, at least when it comes to romance. Ahead of Valentine’s Day, people have found a new use for AI. People are now using AI tools to pen love letters or poems to win hearts quickly and relatively effortlessly. You should also avoid sending money and gifts to people you have not met in person. “We know it’s easy to drop your guard when chatting to a potential partner but it’s important to be on alert if you’re asked to share potentially sensitive information about yourself. We don’t want to put people off finding a perfect match online, but it’s important that they only fall in love, not for a scam,” added Grobman. With ChatGPT starting to infiltrate every aspect of our daily lives, 78 per cent of Indians surveyed were also unable to spot the difference between a love letter written by the AI chatbot and one written by a human, according to the report by cyber-security company McAfee. The vast majority (60 per cent) of Indian respondents preferred a machine-generated love note. The most popular reason given for using AI as a ghost-writer was that it would make the sender feel more confident (59 per cent), others cited lack of time (32 per cent) or lack of inspiration (26 per cent), while 14 per cent said it would just be quicker and easier, believing they would not be found out. However, 57 per cent of respondents said they would be offended if they found out the note they had received was produced by a machine. "With Valentine's Day around the corner, it's important to stay vigilant and use security solutions that can help safeguard your privacy and identity and protect you from clicking on malicious links a scammer might send," said <keyword id="3541923" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="steve-grobman" source="Orion">Steve Grobman</keyword>, <keyword id="16450720" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="mcafee-chief-technology-officer" source="Orion">McAfee Chief Technology Officer</keyword>. To do this, researchers created 25 AI agents with different identities and watched how they interacted with each other and their environment in a virtual town called "Smallville," which includes a dorm, park, school, cafe, bar, houses, and stores. To simulate human behavior, researchers used GPT 3.5, the model behind <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-chat-gpt-2023-1">OpenAI's ChatGPT</a>, to prompt the agents on the backend to perform specific tasks like read a book or talk to a librarian.After some observation, researchers concluded these generative agents were able to "produce believable individual and emergent social behaviors." AI avatars named Isabella Rodriguez and Tom Moreno, for instance, debated the town's upcoming election. When Isabella asked Tom what he thought of Sam Moore, the candidate running for mayor of Smallville, Tom replied with his opinion."To be honest, I don't like Sam Moore," the AI Tom said. "I think he's out of touch with the community and doesn't have our best interests at heart." The agents were also able to respond to their environment. Isabella turned off her stove and made a new breakfast when she was told her food was burning. AI agent John Lin had spontaneous conversations without being prompted throughout the day, as he followed a schedule he'd made.Agents were even able to organize a Valentine's Day party without prompts. When Isabella was given the task, she managed to "autonomously" invite friends and customers she met at the local cafe and decorate the party venue. The agents she invited made plans to arrive at the party together at 5 p.m. Maria, an AI agent invited to the party, even asked her "secret crush" Klaus on a date to join her at the party, and he agreed.<div type="image" title="vday party screenshot from study" height="228" width="340" msid="99431746" hostid="261"></div>The findings show how the generative AI model behind ChatGPT can be used beyond <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-use-chatgpt-artificial-intelligence-making-these-jobs-easier-2023-2">its application as a virtual assistant</a>, Michael Wooldridge, a computer science professor at Oxford University who studies AI and was not involved in the study, told Insider.Woolridge said he can see these findings being realistically applied to task-management apps.Jaime Sevilla, an AI researcher not involved in the study, told Insider the models behind the study could be applied to non-player characters in video games.Researchers involved in the study declined Insider's request for comment. The findings, Woolridge said, are "baby steps" towards achieving <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/agi-could-be-worth-trillions-dollars-2030s-ex-meta-exec-2023-2">artificial general intelligence</a>, the ability for AI tools to display complex human behaviors like consciousness. But developing voice apps like Alexa skills can be costly and time-consuming, especially for small businesses.Zammo, a San Francisco-based startup that uses AI to build voice apps for clients, is looking to change that by charging as little as $12 a month for small brands to $200 a month for big clients, founder and CEO Alex Farr said.The company was incorporated in January 2019 but plans to officially launch on Jan. 15. Farr raised seed funding before raising $3 million from early-stage VC fund OCA Ventures and private tech investors such as Miguel Forbes of the Forbes Family Trust.That's in the ballpark of most voice startups, which raise $1 million or $2 million in their first round, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/audio-investor-shares-founder-pitch-tips-voice-startup-predications-2019-12">according to audio investor Marc Ladin of VoicePunch</a>.<h2>Zammo's CEO has been pitching voice to venture capitalists since 2015</h2>Farr got his start in Silicon Valley consulting for venture capitalists like Sequoia Capital founder <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/sequoia-capital-founder-don-valentine-dead-at-age-87-2019-10">Don Valentine</a> and CEOs like Intel's <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/andy-grove-of-intel-dies-2016-3">Andy Grove</a>. But he long had a passion for voice tech, piqued by conversational AI on screen - think Tony Stark's AI Jarvis in the "Iron Man" movies. He sees voice tech as becoming essential to businesses in the same way that having a website and mobile presence are now table stakes for companies."Every brand should have a voice presence," Farr told Business Insider. "It reflects automation, it saves them money, and it gives them a chance to directly converse with their customers."<h2>Zammo uses AI to build voice apps for clients so they can avoid expensive, long-term projects </h2>Not every company employs audio experts, and while there are <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-tips-advice-hacks-for-smart-speaker-marketing-with-audio-2019-12">consulting agencies dedicated to voice</a>, their costs can add up. It can also take up to nine months for advanced voice apps to be completed and approved for launch on smart speakers, Farr said.Zammo claims it can do that work in less than 30 minutes. Its staff of about 20 includes former employees of Xamarin, a <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/microsoft-acquires-xamarin-2016-2">Microsoft-owned</a> software company that provides tools for mobile app developers.Zammo uses AI to pull from company websites and FAQs to build voice apps for the big voice assistants like Google Assistant, Amazon's Alexa, and Microsoft's Cortana. The plan is to launch with Samsung Bixby and Apple's Siri this year, Farr said. The pitch is that its apps are compliant with security and privacy policies of voice platforms and upgrades them as platforms change their compliance standards.<h2>Zammo charges based on client usage</h2>Zammo's business model is similar to that of companies like Slack and Twilio, which charge clients based on user interaction. It charges as little as $12 a month for small businesses that generate a few hundred voice interactions per month, up to $200 a month for companies that generate closer to 10,000 interactions. The cost includes building the app.Zammo also uses a pay-per-use model for clients with over 10,000 interactions. Farr wouldn't name any clients, but he said Zammo has some of this size that are already generating $10,000 per year in revenue for Zammo.In terms of competition, few startups claim to do what Zammo is. However, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft offer their own technology and tutorials for building voice apps, not all developers are unaffordable, and some companies will prefer to work with a person to build a voice app.
