In the latest move, he has ordered closure of slaughter houses across the state, along with a <keyword id="4323477" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="ban-on-cow-smuggling">ban on cow smuggling</keyword>.

 The Bharatiya Janata Party (<keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword>) manifesto had mentioned all the illegal slaughter houses will be shut down, and there will be a blanket ban on all the mechanised slaughter houses.

Even though it couldn’t be ascertained as to what type of slaughter houses have been asked to be shut down by the CM, the ban on <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/With-Cow-Trafficking-And-Slaughtering-On-Rise-Mother-Cow-Struggles-For-Existence/articleshow/42632154.cms">cow smuggling</a> is being seen as a positive step keeping in mind the suffering that dairy-based industries had to go through. 
 In his election meetings, BJP Chief <keyword id="6355521" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amit-Shah">Amit Shah</keyword> had stressed upon party’s decision to ban all slaughter houses in UP once they <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/adityanaths-appointment-indicates-bjp-pursuing-hindutva-politics-opposition/articleshow/57714937.cms">come to power</a>.

Slaughter houses closed, cow smuggling banned! Yogi Adityanath is keeping up BJP promises and how

One of the first major steps taken by <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/no-surprises-here-hindu-hardliner-up-cm-yogi-adityanath-clears-20-acres-of-land-for-ramayana-museum/articleshow/57752201.cms">Yogi Adityanath</a> after he took over as Chief Minister of <keyword id="6357713" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Uttar-Pradesh">Uttar Pradesh</keyword> was to <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/slaughter-houses-closed-cow-smuggling-banned-yogi-adityanath-is-keeping-up-bjp-promises-and-how/articleshow/57772806.cms">ban all the "illegal" slaughterhouses</a>. This essentially shut down almost all such abattoirs, leading to meat going off from UP residents’ menus. 
 <keyword id="44216" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Aligarh-Muslim-University">Aligarh Muslim University</keyword> (AMU) hostels too were forced to serve the students a <keyword id="4358878" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="pure-vegetarian-menu">pure vegetarian menu</keyword>, which became difficult to digest, since they were being served meat every day in their hostel mess earlier.

Fed up of this sudden change, students of AMU have written to the Zameer Uddin Shah, the vice-chancellor of the university, seeking his intervention.

 The issue also caught the attention of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader <keyword id="189230" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Asaduddin-Owaisi">Asaduddin Owaisi</keyword>, who tweeted, "15000 students in Aligarh Muslim University have not been served meat (buffalo) since 26 March and BJP says we are not targeting?" 
 
In response to the letter, the management has said that the hostels require over 500 kg meat (buffalo) every day for their 19 dining halls, and the management is unable to arrange this quantity because of lack of operational slaughterhouses in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Aligarh-movie-on-AMU-professor-Dr-Siras/articleshow/50816657.cms">Aligarh</a>. 
 
To this, Kalika Singh, regional officer of UP Pollution Control Board, said, "Of the seven slaughterhouses in Aligarh, four are operational at present. But due to non-availability of animals, they, too, are not providing any meat."

AMU students seek vice chancellor’s intervention in ‘pure vegetarian’ menu

Lucknow, May 20 () Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday launched the 'Uttar Pradesh Startup Fund' and handed over the first instalment of Rs 15 crore to the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said it was important to bring a new startup policy for agriculture, health, education and other important sectors so that the youth can connect with it. This move will boost job creation and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the state government and SIDBI with this aim in mind, he added. He said a large number of migrant workers have come to Uttar Pradesh at this time and the state government is looking to provide them employment as per their skill. This will not only solve their problems but the benefit of their energy and talent will also be provided to the entire country through Uttar Pradesh, he added. Adityanath said his government's intention is noble, but along with that, decision-making ability will also have to be speeded up. It is necessary to take timely decisions to pursue good work with speed, otherwise a large section will be deprived of the benefits of schemes, he added. He said the new startup policy will motivate more and more youths to launch their own startups. Under the new package announced by the Government of India for MSMEs, the MSME Department of the state has organised a huge online loan fair and the process of giving loans to entrepreneurs has been completed, the chief minister said. Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said the MoU with SIDBI will speed up the establishment of startups and give a boost to the startup culture. There are immense opportunities in Uttar Pradesh, the youth here have new ideas and concepts, but they were not utilised till now, he said. Yogi Adityanath launches Uttar Pradesh Startup Fund
