The telco will join its competitors, Bharti Airtel and Vi, which are already public.<br /><br />According to a<a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/india/ambanis-reliance-jio-ipo-set-2025-retail-debut-much-later-sources-say-2024-11-04/"> report</a> by Reuters, Reliance Jio is expected to go public in 2025 and the IPO for the retail arm is planned later. As per two sources familiar with the matter, <keyword id="19916798" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mukesh-ambani" source="keywords">Mukesh Ambani</keyword> plans on sticking to the timeline he mentioned in 2019, where he said he will “move towards” listing in five years.<br /><br /><div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="114931927" title="October auto sales – Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors report a decline, Mahindra continues to grow" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div><br />The company has firmed up plans of taking the telecom arm public as it feels the company has achieved a stable business and revenue stream. Jio is currently the biggest telecom operator in India, with over 471 million subscribers as of August 2024.<br /><br />Reliance Industries has raised over $25 billion for the company’s digital, telecom and retail businesses from investors like KKR, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, General Atlantic and more.<br /><br /> <h2>Reliance <keyword id="6059106" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jio-ipo" source="Orion">Jio IPO</keyword> to be India’s biggest</h2>Existing rules state that companies that are valued at ₹1 lakh crore or more need to sell at least 5% of total shares during an IPO. Jio is currently valued at $112 billion (₹9.42 lakh crore) as per Jefferies. A 5% stake sale would put the IPO at around ₹47,100 crore, beating the recently concluded IPO of Hyundai Motor India, which raised ₹27,870.16 crore.<br /><br /><h2>Retail IPO further away</h2>While no timeline has been mentioned, the retail arm’s IPO has reportedly been pushed further away, as the company feels it needs to address internal business and operational challenges.<br /><br />Not only this, the company reportedly wants to avoid two big IPOs hitting the Dalal street in the same year. With Jio’s IPO planned for 2025, we might see the retail arm going public in 2026 or later.<br /><br />Reliance Retail operates over 3,000 supermarkets and also deals in the e-commerce segment. Reliance Jio IPO – India’s biggest telco to go public in 2025, retail IPO further away

<ul><li><keyword id="19906087" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hyundai" source="keywords">Hyundai</keyword> Motor India Limited is set to debut in India's stock market.</li><li>The IPO will open on October 15, making it the first car company in over two decades to go public in India.</li><li>Here’s everything you need to know about the South Korean automaker ahead of its IPO.</li></ul> Hyundai Motor India Limited, the Indian arm of South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Company is all set to make its stock market debut in India as its initial public offering (IPO) opens on October 15. This will be the first market outside South Kores where the country is listed.<br /><br />Hyundai, which entered the Indian market in 1996 is one of the top automakers in India, moving between the second and third spots. The company emerged as the second biggest automaker in Hyundai. Since it entered the Indian market, the company has sold over 80 lakh cars in the country.<br /><br />Hyundai intends to establish India as a global manufacturing and export hub for the company and this might be an initial step in this direction.<br /><br />KFin Technologies is the registrar for the public issue and advisors for the issue include Kotak Investment Banking, Citi, HSBC, JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley.<br /><br /><h2>India’s biggest IPO</h2>Hyundai India is looking to raise ₹27,870 crore from the IPO, significantly higher than the ₹21,008 crore raised by the state-owned Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in 2022, making it the biggest IPO in India’s history.<br /><br /><div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="111690863" title="The biggest IPOs in India’s history – LIC to Paytm, companies that have raised the most funds" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div><br /><h2>About the IPO</h2>The upcoming IPO from Hyundai is entirely an offer for sale (OFS), with the company looking to offload up to 17.5% of shares, which is 14.22 crore shares with a price band of ₹1865 to ₹1,960 per share. Bids can be made in a lot size of 7 shares or multiples of 7 shares.<br /><br />The IPO opens on October 15 and will close on October 18. While the allotment will be finalised on October 18, the shares will be listed on the stock exchange on October 22.<br /><br />At the upper end of the price band, Hyundai Motor India will be valued at $18 billion (approx. ₹1.6 lakh crore), which is around 40% of its parent company, Hyundai Global’s $45 billion valuation.<br /><br />As it is entirely an OFS, the company won’t receive any funds and all the funds raised will go to Hyundai Global. However, the company has said that part of the funds will be allocated towards research and development, especially in electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid technologies.<br /><br />The company has reserved 7.78 lakh shares with a value of ₹131 to ₹138 crore for employees. Employees will get these shares at a discount of ₹186 per share.<br /><br /><h2>First carmaker in over two decades to go public</h2>In addition to being the biggest IPO in the country’s history, this will also make the company the first car maker to go public in India in over two decades. During the 3-month period from April to June 2024, the company earned a revenue of ₹17,567.98 crore.<br /><br />The company recorded a profit after tax (PAT) of ₹6,060.04 crore in FY24, up from ₹4,709.25 crore in FY23 and ₹2,901.59 crore in FY22. The company recorded a PAT of ₹1,489.65 crore from April to June 2024.<br /><br />“Hyundai Motor India is seeking a slightly higher premium to Maruti and lower to M&amp;M based on price earnings ratio while Hyundai stands to be expensive in terms of price to book value. Hyundai India justifies its premium ask considering its leadership in SUV sales, world-class brand image followed by better safety ratings, Multi-segment growth visibility largely been driven by its popular SUVs, particularly the Creta, Exter, and Venue models in the Indian market,” said Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities.<br /><br /><h2>Hyundai paid ₹10,780 crore dividend in FY24</h2>Ahead of the IPO, Hyundai paid a ₹10,780 crore dividend in FY24, up from ₹4,653.42 crore dividend in FY23 and ₹1,493.45 crore dividend in FY22.<br /><br />With this, the company’s cash and bank balance has declined from ₹17,741.15 crore a year ago to ₹9,017.35 crore.<br /><br /><div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="113925972" title="September Auto sales – Automakers report a decline, Mahindra and Mahindra overtakes Tata Motors" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div><br />“As a result, our ability to utilise our internal accruals and cash and bank balances has been reduced. Any resultant insufficiency in our internal accruals and cash and bank balance may require us to borrow money to meet our growth requirements and incur borrowing costs, which may adversely impact our profitability, financial ratios and results of operations,” the company said in its Red Herring Prospectus (RHP).<br /><br /><h2>Declining grey market premium</h2>Grey market premium (GMP) is the premium at which IPO shares are traded in an unofficial market before they are listed on the stock exchanges. In essence, it is the premium above the issue price of a share.<br /><br />The GMP of Hyundai has been on a decline, from ₹570 around two weeks ago to ₹130.<br /><br /><h2>Key risks to remember</h2>Here are some of the key risks that the business faces:<br /><br /><h3>Rising part prices</h3>There has been an increase in prices of key vehicle parts over the years, especially chipsets. Per some media reports, the company is also launching an invite-only concierge membership program called the "Rare Club", which will have an annual fee of up to Rs 50,000. <br /><br /><h2>Who doesn't love a little pettiness? </h2>But that's not it. In the time being, Swiggy is also aggressively looking for ways to gain maximum public attention, one of which is by sponsoring the fourth season of the popular entrepreneurial reality show <keyword id="11924074" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shark-tank-india" source="Orion">Shark Tank India</keyword>. But here's the catch-a key condition of this deal is to not bring back Zomato CEO <keyword id="19901325" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="deepinder-goyal" source="keywords">Deepinder Goyal</keyword> as a shark. <br /><br />Media reports suggest that Swiggy is set to close on a massive Rs 40-60 crore sponsorship deal with the show. But in a seemingly low-ball move, Swiggy has blocked the return of Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal as one of the investors on the show. Goyal had made his debut on the third season of the show, and was looking to make a comeback alongside long-time regulars such as Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar and Peyush Bansal. <br /><br /><h2>Bolting ahead with XL</h2>In a move that clearly underlines its ambitious expansion plans, Swiggy also recently announced the launch of its new XL Fleet service, which will look to cater exclusively to bulk orders and large-scale food deliveries. Per Swiggy's co-founder Nandan Reddy, XL is a natural evolution of Swiggy's services. As it is, a recent report by Bain and Company highlighted that India's food services market is set to double to a massive Rs 9 trillion by 2030, surging up significantly from its current standing of Rs 5.5 trillion. <br /><br />Not just that, the customer base is also set to expand from 320-340 million as of 2023 to 430-450 million by the end of the decade. Earlier this year, Zomato had also stepped in this segment by launching its large-order electric fleet, which could serve orders for a gathering of up to 50 people. <br /><br />Alongside this, Swiggy has unveiled Bolt, which is an AI-powered logistics system specifically designed to optimize delivery routes, predict demand patterns, and improve overall operational efficiency. The aim is to bring down on delivery time and costs, giving Swiggy a massive competitive edge in the growing food and quick delivery market. With this feature, Swiggy claims that users can get certain meals such as burgers, <br /><br /><h2>Challenges Await </h2>As of FY24, Swiggy's operating revenue stood at ₹112.5 billion, a 36% jump from the previous year. The company also managed to reduce its net losses by as much as 44% to ₹23.5 billion. While these may come across as positive signs, which are also pushing the company's unlisted shares to new heights, Swiggy significantly lags behind Zomato in both food delivery and quick commerce segment. <br /><br />Consider this. Per Morgan Stanely, as of FY24, Swiggy's GOV (gross order value) at Rs 24,700 crore, was far lower than Zomato's Rs 32,200 crore. Swiggy's GOV and AOV grew at a CAGR of 15.5% and 2.5% respectively, between FY22-24. In contrast, Zomato's GOV and AOV registered a CAGR of 23% and 3.7%, respectively. <br /><br />At 12.7 million, Swiggy's MTU (monthly transacting users) for FY24 were also a far cry behind Zomato's 18.4 million. Even when it comes to average order value (AOV), Swiggy's Instamart lags behind Zomato's Blinkit. The electric two-wheeler maker had partnered with MapMyIndia to offer navigational services on its electric scooters.<br /><br /><h2>Data copied</h2>MapMyIndia has claimed that Ola Electric has duplicated the API (application programming interface) and SDKs (software development kits) from the company’s proprietary sources to build Ola Maps.<br /><br />    <div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="112039063" title="Pixel 9 series design and specs revealed ahead of launch next month" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div><br />“It is firmly stated that our client’s exclusive data has been copied/derived by you to further your illegal motive and for your unjust commercial gains,” MapMyIndia reportedly said in its notice.<br /><br />Further, the company dismissed Ola Electric’s claim of developing the map data for Ola Maps from Open Map.<br /><br />“Your assertion that you have developed API and map data/Ola Maps solely through open map is factually incorrect and not tenable,” the company added.<br /><br />The company has said that the agreement signed between the two companies prohibits co-mingling and reverse engineering under the Intellectual Property laws.<br /><br />“By indulging in such unscrupulous and illegal activities, you have acted in blatant defiance of the terms and conditions of the agreement and have further infringed the copyright vested exclusively in our client pertaining to the source code,” the notice reads.<br /><br />Ola Electric in a statement to Business Insider India has denied the allegations.<br /><br />“Ola Electric wishes to address the recent claims made by CE Info Systems Limited (“CE Info”) in relation to the alleged issues with Ola Maps vis-à-vis MapMyIndia and reported in news media. We would like to state unequivocally that these allegations are false, malicious and misleading. Ola Electric stands by the integrity of its business practices.
