An artificial intelligence tool is helping retailers and manufacturers weather the holidays by simulating supply chain issues before they happen

New Delhi, Nov 26 () The market valuation of Reliance Industries, the country's most valued firm, came very close to the Rs 10 lakh crore mark in intra-day trade on Tuesday.
The oil-to-telecom conglomerate's market capitalisation (m-cap) zoomed to Rs 9,99,045 crore (USD 139 billion) during the trade on the BSE. However, at close of trade it came down to Rs 9,88,179.79 crore (nearly USD 138 billion).
The company is still ahead of British energy major BP Plc in terms of market valuation.
BP Plc's m-cap was at USD 131 billion in pre-market trade at NYSE. 
The company's stock rose 0.98 per cent to a record peak of Rs 1,576 in intra-day on the BSE. Later, it however, closed marginally lower by 0.12 per cent at Rs 1,558.85.
So far this year, RIL's share price has jumped 38.46 per cent.
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) last week achieved another milestone, becoming the first Indian firm to hit m-cap of Rs 9.5 lakh crore.
Also, last week the company surpassed BP Plc in terms of market valuation.
In October, RIL hit the Rs 9 lakh crore m-cap mark in intra-day trade, first by any listed company.
In August 2018, it became the first Indian firm to cross the Rs 8 lakh crore m-cap mark.
TCS is the country's second most valued firm with a market valuation of Rs 7,68,075.63 crore followed by HDFC Bank with a m-cap of Rs 6,97,707.03 crore, Hindustan Unilever (Rs 4,46,211.06 crore) and HDFC (Rs 3,97,958.39 crore).

RIL m-cap comes very close to Rs 10 lakh cr in intra-day trade

New Delhi, Nov 28 () <keyword id="6355199" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-industries">Reliance Industries</keyword> on Thursday became the first Indian company to hit the Rs 10 lakh crore market valuation mark following a spike in its share price. At market close, the oil-to-telecom conglomerate's market capitalisation (m-cap) zoomed to Rs 10,01,555.42 crore on BSE. The stock rose 0.65 per cent to close at Rs 1,579.95 on BSE. During the day, it jumped 0.90 per cent to an all-time high of Rs 1,584.
 At the NSE, it gained 0.77 per cent to close at Rs 1,582. 
 "It was only a matter of time for business tycoon Mukesh Ambani's company to test this milestone, considering the past investments made in consumer-facing sectors like telecom and retail. These investments have yielded fruitful results for the company and has been consistently increasing their share in the overall profits," according to Ajit Mishra, VP Research, Religare Broking.
 Since the past few sessions, the company's market valuation has been hovering near the Rs 10 lakh crore mark.
 On the volume front, 2.73 lakh shares of the company were traded on the BSE and over 62 lakh shares on the NSE during the day.
 The company is still ahead of British energy major BP Plc in terms of market valuation. BP Plc's m-cap was at USD 127.86 billion at close of trade on NYSE. 
 "<keyword id="6484187" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="ril">RIL</keyword> today (Thursday) became the first Indian company to hit the Rs 10 lakh crore milestone in market capitalisation, after its shares rose to a record high. We will put two important factors that should be seen as a catalyst for this share. Firstly, the <keyword id="10926" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance">Reliance</keyword> Jio disruption. Second is the stake sale to Aramco has further made its valuation going forward attractive since their aim to achieve the debt-free balance sheet is likely to be seen in FY20-21," said Mustafa Nadeem, CEO, Epic Research. In October this year, Reliance Industries (RIL) hit the Rs 9 lakh crore m-cap level.
 In August 2018, it became the first Indian company to have crossed the Rs 8 lakh crore m-cap mark.
 So far this year, the company's scrip has zoomed nearly 41 per cent, much higher than the 14 per cent rise in Sensex so far in 2019.
 TCS is the country's second most valued firm with a market valuation of Rs 7,79,501.64 crore, followed by HDFC Bank with a market cap of Rs 6,92,853.48 crore, Hindustan Unilever (Rs 4,51,482.38 crore) and HDFC (Rs 3,98,994.81 crore).

Reliance Industries first Indian firm to hit Rs 10 lakh Cr Mark

Online marketplace <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword> has been on a hiring spree since past few months and it seems the e-Commerce platform is building a second rung of leadership. 
 
Latest to join the bandwagon in Amit Choudhary who has joined Snapdeal as senior Vice President-Corporate Finance. Jasper Infotech, which owns and runs Snapdeal, made the announcement. 
 Choudhary was serving as the regional finance head for <keyword id="6361491" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Procter-Gamble">Procter &amp; Gamble</keyword>’s (P&amp;G) Asia Pet Care business across 14 countries, including, Japan, Greater China and Australia, before joining Snapdeal. 
 
"We believe that with his experience and expertise Amit will propel us further on our growth trajectory with stronger, more efficient and transparent financial planning and management. We welcome him into the family," said co-founder of Snapdeal, Kunal Bahl. 
At Snapdeal, Choudhary will be driving overall controllership in finance, FP&amp;A and taxation at the group level. 
 
"E-Commerce is one of the most dynamic sectors in the country today and Snapdeal has emerged as a leader in this sector. I am very excited to be a part of the young and dynamic Snapdeal family. I look forward to an exciting journey ahead," Choudhary stated in a press release issued by Snapdeal. 
 
Snapdeal had recently appointed former Bharti Airtel senior executive Anand Chandrasekaran as its chief product officer. 
 
In May, Snapdeal named former Cisco and Symantec executive Gaurav Gupta as its vice-president – Engineering, whereas in April, it brought on board former Unilever Plc executive Vivek Patankar as senior vice-president - finance.

The agreement made public on Tuesday resolves a trademark infringement lawsuit that Ben &amp; Jerry's filed last September against Caballero Video, also known as Rodax Distributors Inc.
It calls for Caballero to stop selling a variety of products including its "Ben &amp; Cherry's" film series, which included 10 titles such as "Boston Cream Thighs," "Chocolate Fudge Babes" and "Peanut Butter D-Cups." Ben &amp; Jerry's had claimed that such titles were too similar to its ice cream flavors such as Boston Cream Pie, Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Peanut Butter Cup.
The agreement also covers labels, packaging and advertising that mimicked Ben &amp; Jerry's own. Caballero's packaging featured puffy white clouds and grazing cows, and the slogan "Porno's Finest." Ben &amp; Jerry's uses the slogan "Vermont's Finest."
A week after Ben &amp; Jerry's sued, Caballero had agreed not to market the challenged titles while the case was pending.
U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan approved the consent judgment between the parties on Monday. Ben &amp; Jerry's is based in South Burlington, Vermont, and is a unit of Unilever Plc.
Caballero has offices in North Hollywood, California. It did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A lawyer for Ben &amp; Jerry's did not immediately respond to a similar request.
The case is Ben &amp; Jerry's Homemade Inc et al v. Rodax Distributors Inc et al, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, No. 12-06734.
