According to Istvan, his campaign will revolve around dedicating himself to stopping death- for him and for his loved ones.<br />
<br /> He believes that death is a policy issue that needs to be overcome and what better way to achieve that if not by cruising around in a gigantic <keyword id="3159300" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="coffin-on-wheels">coffin on wheels</keyword>?<br />

The old school bus now converted to look like a coffin on wheels has been aptly christened ‘The Immortality Bus,’ and was paid for by a crowdfunding campaign.<br />
<br />
Talking to BBC about the origin of my campaign, Istvan chatted about how as a journalist with the National geographic, he was of the opinion that life would be all fun. But, then came the day when he was standing atop a landmine in Vietnam and his guide tackled him in the process throwing him down and saving his life.<br />

“It was then that I had decided,” Istvan recounted.<br />
<br />
What’s refreshing about him is the fact that he openly admits that the bus is a stunt designed to give him the news coverage he requires for his aim, and the fact that it seems to be working is giving him much joy.<br />
<br />
And, what’s his aim, you ask? To eradicate death and everyone in America to live forever.<br />
<br />
Unlike other presidential candidates who claim that they are quipped to deal with issues related to immigration, Iran and the eeconomy, Istvan has far more ambitious goals.<br />

Meet the Presidential candidate who’s
driving a bus-shaped coffin across America

The 2020 Presidential election is turning out to be the most expensive election in history and twice as expensive as the previous presidential election cycle, with the total cost of the election expected to reach an unprecedented USD 14 billion, a research group said. <br /><br />The Center for Responsive Politics said that an "extraordinary influx" of political donations in the final months - driven by a Supreme Court battle and closely watched races for the White House and Senate - pushed total spending in the election past the previously estimated 11 billion dollars figure. <br /><br />The Center said that the 2020 election will cost USD 14 billion, shattering spending records. <br /><br />Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden will be the first candidate in history to raise USD 1 billion from donors. <br /><br />His campaign brought in a record-breaking USD 938 million through October 14, riding Democrats' enthusiasm to defeat Trump. <br /><br />President Donald Trump raised USD 596 million, which would be a strong fundraising effort if not for Biden's immense haul. <br /><br />"Even amid a pandemic, everyone is giving more in 2020, from ordinary individuals making small donations to billionaires cutting eight-figure checks to super PACs. <br /><br />Women are smashing donation records, and Americans are increasingly donating to candidates who aren't running for office in their state," it said in a statement. <br /><br />The 2020 election is more than twice as expensive as the runner up, the 2016 election. <br /><br />This year's election will see more spending than the previo<keyword id="6354458" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="US">us</keyword> two presidential election cycles combined, said the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan, independent and nonprofit research group that tracks money in US politics and its effect on elections and public policy. <br /><br />"Donors poured record amounts of money into the 2018 midterms, and 2020 appears to be a continuation of that trend - but magnified," said Sheila Krumholz, executive director of the Center for Responsive Politics. <br /><br />"Ten years ago, a billion-dollar presidential candidate would have been difficult to imagine. This cycle, we're likely to see two," Krumholz said. <br /><br />The group said that the massive numbers are headlined by unprecedented spending in the presidential contest, which is expected to see USD 6.6 billion in total spending alone, up from around USD 2.4 billion in the 2016 race. <br /><br />Spending by deep-pocketed national groups is also driving the total cost of election higher. In the month of October alone, outside spending by super PACs and other big-money groups totalled nearly USD 1.2 billion. <br /><br />These groups are spending far more to boost Biden than help Trump, further aiding the Democrats cash-flush campaign. <br /><br />Driven by their supporters' strong opposition to Trump, Democrats are continuing their fundraising prowess that helped them dominate the money race in the 2018 election cycle. <br /><br />"Their money machine is more powerful than ever in 2020," the Center said. <br /><br />Democratic candidates and groups have spent USD 5.5 billion compared to Republicans' USD 3.8 billion, the Center said noting that Democrats have never had a financial advantage this large. <br /><br />Both parties raised more than ever from small donors, but Democrats came out on top, having raised nearly USD 1.7 billion from bite-sized donors, compared to USD 1 billion for Republicans. <br /><br />Overall, small donors account for 22 per cent of the money raised in the 2020 cycle. These individual donors giving USD 200 or less only accounted for 15 per cent of money raised in the 2016 election. <br /><br />The pandemic also forced candidates to forgo in-person fundraisers with wealthy donors. The related recount and Supreme Court decision delayed Vice President Al Gore's concession for six weeks after election day.</p><p>The stock market initially slipped on the unprecedented result. The <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/index/dow_jones">Dow Jones industrial average</a> tumbled more than 5% in the first two weeks after election day. Gold prices leaped as investors piled into safe-haven assets.</p><p>Academic research done in the wake of the 2000 election suggests stock market volatility linked to an inconclusive election will be concentrated in the first four days following the contested outcome, UBS said.</p><p>A delayed decision won't rattle markets for long, McLoughlin added. US President-elect <keyword id="99719" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Joe-Biden">Joe Biden</keyword> was an early supporter of the India-US relationship and his administration will continue to prioritise the defence and security partnership with New Delhi, a key area which has progressed during Donald Trump's tenure as president, a senior official from the Barrack Obama-era administration has said. <br /><br /> The US media has projected Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election. However, incumbent Trump is yet to concede defeat, vowing to mount legal fights in several key battleground states. There is much speculation on how the India-US relationship will shape during Biden's time in the White house. <br /><br /> "Based on the priorities articulated already by President-elect Biden, I would anticipate that the Biden-Harris administration will continue to place a high priority on the defence and security relationship with India, the major area that has advanced during the Trump administration," Alyssa Ayres Senior fellow for India, Pakistan, and South Asia at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) told . <br /><br /> Author of 'Our Time Has Come: How India is Making Its Place in the World,' Ayres had served as deputy assistant secretary of state for South Asia from 2010 to 2013. <br /><br /> Former vice president Biden was an early supporter of the US-India relationship, she said, adding that the president-elect, 15 years ago, viewed the US and India as "the two closest nations in the world". <br /><br /> Biden had even championed the civil-nuclear agreement with India in Congress, Ayres recalled. <br /><br /> Biden's election campaign website speaks on partnering with India to support rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific region. <br /><br /> Biden's global priorities on fighting the coronavirus pandemic and tackling climate change will necessitate close cooperation with India, Ayres said. <br /><br /> "I've seen a lot of attention in the Indian media to the question of whether President-elect Biden will criticise India on questions of democracy and human rights -- he has stated that he has concerns, and given his decades of diplomatic experience would be likely to convey his views privately -- but I've seen little on the question of climate change and clean energy," Ayres said in response to a question. <br /><br /> Ayres expects clean energy and climate cooperation to return to the forefront of the agenda during the Biden administration as was the case during Barrack Obama's term. <br /><br /> "We can see the catastrophic effects of climate change before us. Here are five ways to have productive and kid-friendly conversations about politics and the election. </p><h2><strong>Teach them about the government</strong></h2><p>The government and the election cycle can be confusing, so it's empowering to give kids an age-appropriate breakdown of how American democracy works. </p><p>"We can talk about how we can make a difference in government, both during and after the election," said Shannon Brescher Shea, author of<a href="https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/625190/growing-sustainable-together-by-shannon-brescher-shea/"> "Growing Sustainable Together: Practical Resources for Raising Kind, Engaged, Resilient Children</a>."</p><p>Brescher Shea teaches her own sons, four and seven, how to be engaged citizens, by writing to lawmakers, attending rallies and, of course, thinking about voting. </p><p>"My older kid even put in his own comment on the Army Corp of Engineers request for comments on the Keystone XL pipeline," Brescher Shea said. "He looked quite pleased when I told him that the people in charge of making the decision are required to read his input!"</p><h2><strong>Use books to start conversations</strong></h2><p>In addition to encouraging their own civil engagement, Brescher Shea uses books to talk to her boys about how individuals — including kids — can make a difference in politics. Having emotion is a normal response to political movements, she said.</p><p>Removing the emotions threatens to separate political decisions from real life, which just isn't realistic, Elle said. </p><p>"When topics like [racial justice] are politicized it allows us to be removed from the indictment that our choices affect another person's life," she said. "If they do not directly affect our personhood then we can make light of filling in a bubble on a ballot."</p><h2><strong>Remain hopeful</strong></h2><p>No matter what happens on November 3, it's important to keep a positive outlook for kids, and empower them to engage with our political system, experts say. </p><p>"When talking to kids about politics, we need to be realistic without being depressing," said Brescher Shea. "We don't want to burden them with a sense of hopelessness."</p><p>Touching on the ways that engagement can make a difference — on the local, state, or federal level — can help kids keep their chins up. It's important that they know political engagement is about more than just the pressure cooker in the weeks leading up to a general election. </p><p>"It's important to make sure that we don't place all of our hopes and dreams on the election," Brescher Shea said. <p>Gold is sliding as the first results from the presidential election start to roll in.</p><p>The precious metal is down a little less than $6 per ounce from its close at the end of trading Tuesday to around $1,270 an ounce as of 6:20 p.m ET. This is also nearly $20 per ounce off its high during trading on Tuesday.</p><p>The falling gold price would indicate that investors are pricing in a probabe victory for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Jeb Bush at the Fox Business Republican debate on January 14, 2016.</p></div><p></p></div></div>Perhaps you're one of the millions of Americans slightly appalled by the tone of the US presidential election.</p><p>Perhaps petty name calling and jokes about the size of a candidates hands don't really do it for you.</p><p>But it's doing it for China's state-controlled media, boy I'll tell you what.</p><p>Right now, China is also in the midst of some really important political theater - the annual meeting of its National People's Congress.</p><p>It's the only time all of the country's legislators get together to talk policy and pass laws, though it's mostly just a chorus of 'yes' votes to whatever the Chinese Communist Party puts forth.</p><p>One 12-time legislator <a href="http://www.thehindu.com/news/international/world/12time-legislator-who-never-voted-no/article4492039.ece">famously bragged that she'd</a> never voted 'no' in her entire tenure on the Congress back in 2013.</p><p>So the chaos we're seeing in the US election cycle? China's state media is loving the US presidential election

The so-called ground game of presidential campaigns are massive opportunities for people to find jobs.</p><p>Those jobs also disappear incredibly fast.</p><p>According to <a href="http://www.bls.gov/opub/ted/2016/employment-in-political-organizations.htm">data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics</a>, campaigns could employ roughly 20,000 people this year, a massive jump from the 8,270 working for political organizations in 2015.</p><p>Most of this increase will be due to the presidential and congressional elections.</p><p>"Employment has been higher in years with both presidential and congressional elections than in years with only congressional elections," said<a href="http://www.bls.gov/opub/ted/2016/employment-in-political-organizations.htm"> a post from the BLS.</a></p><p>"October employment reached 20,207 in 2008 and 19,073 in 2012 (years with presidential elections), but peaked at 16,205 in 2010 and 17,819 in 2014 (years with congressional elections but no presidential election)."</p><p>The problem, however, is that these jobs aren't built to last. For one thing, every race has a loser, who most likely needs almost none of the new staff hired. For another, once elected, politicians have much smaller staffing needs while in office.</p><p>This leads to the bust portion of the political labor market.</p><p>"Steep decreases have occurred after these election-year peaks," <a href="http://www.bls.gov/opub/ted/2016/employment-in-political-organizations.htm">said the BLS</a>. The presidential election will cause a huge boom and bust for some American workers

<p>President-elect Donald Trump&#xa0;has pledged to do everything from renegotiate US trade deals to forcing Mexico to pay for a wall along the US border.</p><p>But the president-elect's&#xa0;first change could happen on day one, if he&#xa0;fulfills an early campaign promise.</p><p>Last September, the then-Republican presidential frontrunner declared he would forego a presidential salary if elected, and would not seek outside contributions to his campaign.</p><p>"I won't take even one dollar. I'm totally giving up my salary if I become president," Trump said in a short video posted to his Twitter account as part of a question-and-answer session at Twitter's New York headquarters.</p><p><div></div></p><p>Of course, Trump&#xa0;walked back his promise to self-finance his entire campaign.</p><p>Though Trump pledged to self-fund the<a href="http://www.politico.com/story/2015/08/donald-trump-president-2016-donors-213102"> vast majority</a> of his bid for president, he reversed his proposal and began raising money for himself and the Republican National Committee when&#xa0;he secured the Republican presidential nomination.</p><p>The Associated Press declared Trump the president-elect at 2:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday.</p><p>Trump's victory was&#xa0;<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-wins-election-results-2016-11" target="_blank">one of the most stunning political upsets</a>&#xa0;in history. Trump once said he would refuse a presidential salary if he won

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Business Insider</span></p><p class="caption">Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg</p></div><p></p></div></div>Despite some not so subtle <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/mark-zuckerberg-just-took-a-veiled-shot-at-donald-trump-2016-4">political jabs from CEO Mark Zuckerberg</a> about Donald Trump, Facebook won't use its power to try to sway the upcoming US election -even if some employees within the company wonder whether it should.</p><p>Each week Facebook holds an internal Q&amp;A for employees with Zuckerberg, and the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-weekly-all-hands-2016-3">topics are determined by the results of an internal survey.</a> Gizmodo got hold of <a href="http://gizmodo.com/facebook-employees-asked-mark-zuckerberg-if-they-should-1771012990">the questions submitted for the weekly Q&amp;A in early March</a>, one of which was: "What responsibility does Facebook have to help prevent President Trump in 2017." </p><p>We don't know what Facebook or Zuckerberg said in response to the question during the Q&amp;A. </p><p>But when reached for comment about the question a Facebook spokesperson told Business Insider:</p><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"<span class="s1">Voting is a core value of democracy and we believe that supporting civic participation is an important contribution we can make to the community. We encourage any and all candidates, groups, and voters to use our platform to share their views on the election and debate the issues. We as a company are neutral - we have not and will not use our products in a way that attempts to influence <em>how</em> people vote."</span></p><p><span class="s1">Facebook's response is an acknowledgement of just how powerful the social network's Timeline has become. And it's worth noting that the company has gotten in trouble for manipulating what appears in its users' newsfeeds in the past. Facebook promises not to use its product to influence the US presidential election

<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>YouTube/GEICO Insurance</span></p><p class="caption">Our voting preferences aren't as sophisticated as we're inclined to believe.</p></div><p></p></div></div>If you've ever been swayed by a speech by President Obama, it might not have been his ideas that moved you so much as how he communicated them.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1"><a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22418254">Science</a> suggests that we generally gravitate toward political candidates who, like Obama, can <a href="http://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/may/25/obama-deep-voice-jaw-authority">bust out the baritone</a>. Now, a new study helps illuminate why: We perceive deep-voiced leaders as physically stronger and more competent.</span> </p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">The researchers say it probably comes down to evolution. Even if there's no plausible reason why the US president needs to be able to fend off a lion attack, this was an important attribute back in our caveman days. And that age-old impulse to select the strongest-seeming leader is hard to shake.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">The <a href="http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0133779#sec014">study</a>, led by researchers at the University of Miami and Duke University, started from the hypothesis that we select deeper-voiced leaders because they're typically older and wiser. To test that theory, they conducted two experiments.</span> </p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Sure enough, results of the first experiment showed that participants were most likely to vote for hypothetical candidates in their 40s and 50s when they received written information about their age and sex.</span></p><p class="p3"><span class="s1">"That's when leaders are not so young that they're too inexperienced, but not so old that their health is starting to decline or they're no longer capable of active leadership," lead study author Casey Klofstad, Ph.D., said in a <a href="https://today.duke.edu/2015/08/whydeepvoicesgetvotes"><span class="s2">release</span></a>.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">That 40 to 60 age range also happens to be the time when our voice reaches its lowest pitch.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">In a second experiment, the researchers had participants listen to recorded male and female voices saying, "I urge you to vote for me this November," in different pitches. Participants were asked to assess the strength and competence of the people whose voices they heard, and also to report who they would vote for.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">As expected, the candidates with deeper voices won 60% to 76% of the votes - but the participants' judgments of strength and competence mattered much more than how old they thought the speakers were.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">In other words, at least on a conscious level, we aren't voting for deep-voiced candidates <em>just</em> because we think they're older and wiser. We value the image of strength and competence even more. Men and women with lower-pitched voices usually have higher levels of the hormone testosterone, meaning they're likely stronger and more aggressive.</span></p><p class="p3"><span class="s1"><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Reuters</span></p><p class="caption">Are you voting for the leader who seems best able to fend off a lion attack?</p></div><p></p></div></div>"Modern-day political leadership is more about competing ideologies than brute force," Klofstad said in the release. "But at some earlier time in human history it probably paid off to have a literally strong leader."</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">This phenomenon appears outside the lab, too: The researchers found that candidates with lower-pitched voices were more likely to win in the 2012 US House of Representatives elections.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">The study also notes that women's typically higher-pitched voices could put them at a disadvantage in the elections. (<a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/11251919/From-shrill-housewife-to-Downing-Street-the-changing-voice-of-Margaret-Thatcher.html">Margaret Thatcher</a> was said to have taken speech lessons to help lower her voice before running for prime minister.) Still, the authors caution that this idea can't entirely explain why there are more men in office. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">The real golden-ticket question is whether lower-voiced leaders really are more skilled and capable in the ways that we need them to be today. Why the US presidential election is going to be determined by a bunch of cavemen

Jeb Bush (R), Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, and US Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) in theoretical general-election matchups.</p><p>Rubio and Walker outpace Clinton by as much as 9 points in those states. Another Democratic candidate, US Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), runs close to or outpaces Clinton in the matchups with Rubio, Walker, and Bush.</p><p>Here's the breakdown:</p><ul><li>Bush leads Clinton 41-36 in Colorado; 42-36 in Iowa; and 42-39 in Virginia.</li><li>Walker leads Clinton 47-38 in Colorado; 45-37 in Iowa; and 43-40 in Virginia.</li><li>Rubio leads Clinton 46-38 in Colorado; 44-36 in Iowa; and 43-41 in Virginia.</li></ul><p>Clinton had led those candidates in the three states in a set of Quinnipiac polls released in April. All three are key swing states that President Barack Obama captured in both the 2008 and 2012 elections, and that Republicans will be looking to turn red in 2016.</p><p>Clinton has hinted that she views this trio of Republican candidates as her likely opponents in the general election. The split is 55-39 in Virginia. A majority of voters in all three states also say that she does "not care about their needs and problems."</p><p><span>"Hillary Clinton's numbers have dropped among voters in the key swing states of Colorado, Iowa and Virginia.
