The officer said 27,49,364 (27.49 lakh) candidates -- 14,39,243 (14.39 lakh) boys and 13,10,121 (13.10 lakh) girls -- appeared for the Class 10 exam. Of the total, 86.05 per cent boys and 93.40 per cent girls cleared the exam. For Class 12, the number of candidates was 24,52,830 (24.52 lakh) -- 13,41,356 (13.41 lakh) boys and 11,11,474 (11.11 lakh) girls, Dev said. The pass percentage was 77.78 for boys and 88.42 for girls.

Over 58 lakh candidates have registered for the UP Board 2023 examinations which will begin from February 16. Of these 31.2 lakh students are for Class 10 and 27.5 lakh students are for Class 12. The examinations will be held at 8,752 centres across 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh. According to the timetable for 2023 examinations released by secretary, UP Secondary Education Board, Divyakant Shukla, the Class 10 examinations will be held in 13 working days and will end on March 3. The Class 12 examinations will be held in 14 working days and will end on March 4. For the first time, UP Board examinees will get stitched answer sheets. The move is aimed at preventing the copy mafia from changing answer sheets of meritorious students because in the previous years there were complaints of changing copies by removing staples. Also, answer sheets given to the students will have barcodes and monograms on them. The initiatives are being taken with an aim to eliminate the scope of manipulation of answer sheets. The Board will also conduct random checks of some answer sheets using the barcodes which will further put a noose around those involved in copying. Over three crore answer sheets will be required for the UP Board examinations. Model exam questions for Class 10 and Class 12. Over 58 lakh candidates to take UP Board 2023 exams that'll begin on Feb 16

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (<keyword id="3444279" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="upmsp" source="Orion">UPMSP</keyword>) has decided that 100 per cent of the syllabus would be taught to students from this academic session. The decision will be implemented in all 28,000 schools affiliated with the <keyword id="119108" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="up-board" source="Orion">UP Board</keyword>. During the pandemic, the board had reduced the syllabus by 30 per cent for Classes 9 to 12. The practice continued till the last academic session. However, from the new session, the entire syllabus will be taught in all subjects. The new session will start on April 1. UP Board secretary <keyword id="4814406" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="divyakant-shukla" source="Orion">Divyakant Shukla</keyword> said, "During the last two years, due to Covid-19, regular teaching and learning in schools were disrupted. Keeping in view the interest of the students, the course committee recommended the curtailment of 30 per cent of the annual course. Under this, the curriculum in schools was shortened. Now, as the conditions have returned to normal, 100 per cent of the syllabus will be taught from the new academic session." The UP Board secretary added that the secondary schools are back to their regular routine after two years and hence, there is no justification left for the curtailment of the syllabus. The UP Board has also laid emphasis on paying attention to extra-curricular activities for the all-around development of the students from the new session. UP schools back to 100% syllabus for the first time since pandemic

The Board has initiated legal action and sent them to jail. Besides, a total of 34 students have also been booked for copying. Board secretary <keyword id="4814406" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="divyakant-shukla" source="Orion">Divyakant Shukla</keyword> said, "Maximum number of solvers, known as '<keyword id="6468448" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="munna-bhai" source="Orion">Munna Bhai</keyword>' in local parlance, have been caught in two districts of Ghazipur and Ballia, which accounts for around 50 per cent of the total number of impersonators caught till Wednesday. Eighteen <keyword id="947669" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="munna-bhais" source="Orion">Munna Bhais</keyword> have been caught and sent to jail in Ghazipur and 15 from Ballia." Five solvers have been nabbed in Agra and four each from Prayagraj and Azamgarh. Three impersonators each have been arrested from Pratapgrah and <keyword id="43253" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="gorakhpur" source="Orion">Gorakhpur</keyword>, two each from Jaunpur and Bhadohi. "The Board is updating and changing its strategy daily to conduct the exam in a fair manner," he said. The secretary said Friday (February 24) is an important day when English paper of class 12 would be held in the second shift in which over 23.5 lakh candidates will appear. In such a situation, the Board is working on a new strategy. Officers of the education department have been asked to conduct surprise inspections of the centres a day before the exam. Strongrooms will be checked and Board will keep an eye through CCTV camera. Sixty-five impersonators held during UP board exams

The Board officials have announced the detailed timetable of both high school and intermediate <keyword id="32862" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="board-exams" source="Orion">board exams</keyword> in Prayagraj. "As per the timetable, the exams for high school would be completed in 12 working days while that of intermediate would be completed in 15 working days," said UP Board chairman and director (secondary education) <keyword id="1080922" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vinay-Kumar-Pandey" source="Orion">Vinay Kumar Pandey</keyword>. Pandey further said that the examination schedule has also been made available on the official website of the board. According to the Board officials, around 2.70 lakh students failed to secure passing marks in Hindi in Intermediate, while 5.28 lakh students in High School failed in their Hindi paper. Around 2.39 lakh students of High School and Intermediate of the Board had skipped their Hindi papers. A high school teacher who evaluated Hindi copies for class 12, said on condition of anonymity, "Many of the children did not know simple words like 'atmavishwas' and wrote 'confidence', albeit with a wrong spelling. Some of them wrote 'suffer' for 'yatra'. This reflects their level of the knowledge of the language," she said. She further said that majority of the students tend to ignore Hindi because they feel there is no need to study the language which does not offer future prospects. Board officials, meanwhile, said that the number of students failing in Hindi was around 10 lakh last year. Around 56 lakh students had appeared in the Board examinations of the UP Board this year.

"It's a lie. (Chapters on) Mughals have not been dropped. There was a rationalisation process last year because due to Covid, there was pressure on students everywhere," the <keyword id="116349" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ncert-director" source="Orion">NCERT director</keyword> told ANI. The NCERT chief further said that expert committees examined the books from standards 6-12. "They recommended that if this chapter is dropped, it won't affect the knowledge of the children and an unnecessary burden can be removed...The debate is unnecessary. Those who don't know can check the textbooks...," Saklani said. He said that even today students are studying the history of the Mughals in NCERT's class 7th book. "Along with this, the history of Mughals is being taught in Empires in section-2 of the 11th class book. And in the class 12th book there were 2 chapters on the history of the Mughals, out of which theme nine was removed last year, while theme eight is still being taught to the students. This year no chapter has been removed from any book," Saklani further said. "We are working as per NEP (National Education Policy) 2020. This is a transition phase. NEP 2020 speaks of reducing the content load. We are implementing it. NCF (National Curriculum Framework) for school education is being formed, it will be finalised soon. Textbooks will be printed in 2024 as per NEP. We have not dropped anything right now," the NCERT chief said while stressing the National Education Policy. On Monday, Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Minister Gulab Devi also denied the reports claiming of removing the chapter of the Mughal Sultanate from CBSE and UP Board. "There is no change of any kind in our syllabus. Those who are running this type of misleading news, I request them not to run such news," Gulab Devi said. If there will be any further changes under the new education policy, then it cannot be said. At present, there is no change. The curriculum which was in 2022 will remain the same this time in 2023-24, she said. Chapters on Mughals have not been dropped, NCERT chief clarifies

Lucknow, The <keyword id="670125" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Uttar-Pradesh-Madhyamik-Shiksha-Parishad">Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad</keyword> (<keyword id="3444279" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="UPMSP">UPMSP</keyword>) on Wednesday announced the dates for classes 10 and 12 board examinations 2021. Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma, who announced the exam schedule, said the UPMSP board exams would begin on April 24 and end on May 12. The high school examinations would be spread over 10 days while the intermediate examinations would be spread over 15 days. A total number of 56,03,813 students would write the examinations this year.

"We want to truly understand at its most granular level of detail how passengers move on and off our aircraft,'' Angela Marano, Southwest's vice president of business transformation, told the Journal. "How can we better understand some of the human behavior that slows that process down?''The new boarding practices include highly visible changes like upbeat music on the jet bridge and video monitors that tell passengers when boarding will begin. The monitors also include lights that flash during boarding, according to the Journal. "It's giving the customers, especially the customers coming in late or just not paying attention, information on when it is their turn," Kaci McCartan, senior innovation designer at Southwest, told the Journal.But some of the airline's ideas are less consumer-facing, and focus on optimizing the boarding process from the airline's side of operations. One idea Southwest is testing is a group chat between workers on the ground, on the plane, and at the gate — an addition that aims to improve coordination between airline employees, the Journal reported. One further change the airline will test is self-serve kiosks at the gate, according to <a href="https://www.thestreet.com/travel/southwest-airlines-testing-major-boarding-process-changes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Street</a>. There, passengers can streamline the boarding process and potentially even upgrade their tickets before they get on a plane. The tests in Atlanta further Southwest's ongoing efforts to reshape the way passengers board planes. The airline notoriously doesn't assign seats to its passengers — they get to choose where to sit when they get on the plane. That boarding system also allows families to board and sit together on Southwest flights in what the company calls "Family Boarding," <a href="https://fox8.com/news/several-major-airlines-making-it-easier-for-families-to-sit-together/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to Cleveland's Fox8 news station</a>. For those families as well as wheelchair users, Southwest is also testing out a separate staging area aimed at easing access to the plane. "If we spot stuff that works and it can work stand-alone, we will roll that out,'' Andrew Watterson, the airline's chief operating officer, told the Journal. "But we're not looking for all quickies. At the end of this we want to get our turn times down five minutes and have it be in a quality, customer-friendly way.''
