<ul><li>Nearly 7.97 lakh students in the Uttar Pradesh - known as the Hindi heartland - have failed in Hindi in the UP Secondary Board examinations for class 10 and 12.</li><li>According to the Board officials, around 2.70 lakh students failed to secure passing marks in Hindi in Intermediate, while 5.28 lakh students in High School failed in their Hindi paper.</li><li>The number of students failing in Hindi was around 10 lakh last year.</li></ul>Nearly 7.97 lakh students in the Uttar Pradesh - known as the Hindi heartland - have failed in Hindi in the UP Secondary Board examinations for class 10 and 12, the results of which were announced on Saturday. According to the Board officials, around 2.70 lakh students failed to secure passing marks in Hindi in Intermediate, while 5.28 lakh students in High School failed in their Hindi paper. Around 2.39 lakh students of High School and Intermediate of the Board had skipped their Hindi papers. A high school teacher who evaluated Hindi copies for class 12, said on condition of anonymity, "Many of the children did not know simple words like 'atmavishwas' and wrote 'confidence', albeit with a wrong spelling. Some of them wrote 'suffer' for 'yatra'. This reflects their level of the knowledge of the language," she said. She further said that majority of the students tend to ignore Hindi because they feel there is no need to study the language which does not offer future prospects. Board officials, meanwhile, said that the number of students failing in Hindi was around 10 lakh last year. Around 56 lakh students had appeared in the Board examinations of the UP Board this year.

Over 7.9 lakh students fail in Hindi in UP board exams

Over 58 lakh candidates have registered for the UP Board 2023 examinations which will begin from February 16. Of these 31.2 lakh students are for Class 10 and 27.5 lakh students are for Class 12. The examinations will be held at 8,752 centres across 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh. According to the timetable for 2023 examinations released by secretary, UP Secondary Education Board, Divyakant Shukla, the Class 10 examinations will be held in 13 working days and will end on March 3. The Class 12 examinations will be held in 14 working days and will end on March 4. For the first time, UP Board examinees will get stitched answer sheets. The move is aimed at preventing the copy mafia from changing answer sheets of meritorious students because in the previous years there were complaints of changing copies by removing staples. Also, answer sheets given to the students will have barcodes and monograms on them. The initiatives are being taken with an aim to eliminate the scope of manipulation of answer sheets. The Board will also conduct random checks of some answer sheets using the barcodes which will further put a noose around those involved in copying. Over three crore answer sheets will be required for the UP Board examinations. Model exam questions for Class 10 and Class 12. Over 58 lakh candidates to take UP Board 2023 exams that'll begin on Feb 16

<keyword id="1373364" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="UPSEB">UPSEB</keyword> board has declared the result for class X and class XII for the year 2019. 58.06 lakh students had registered for the 10th and 12th class board exams this year with around 31.95 lakh students from High school and 26 lakh students from the Intermediate level registering themselves for the board exams. There were more than 3 crore answer sheets to be checked for the exam that was conducted across 8354 exam centers. The exams started on February 7 for both 10th and 12th class simultaneously. The UP board class X an XII exams got completed on 28th February and March 2 respectively. Class 12th students of the board have recorded a pass percentage of 70%. Gautam Raghuvanshi has topped the Uttar Pradesh Board High School exam with 97.17% marks. Shivam has secured the second rank with 97% marks and Tanuja Vishwakarma has secured the third rank with 96.83% marks. UP 12th class board exam result Tanu Tomar has emerged the topper of the UP Board Class 12 exams with 97.83% marks. The <keyword id="119108" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="up-board" source="Orion">UP Board</keyword> examination for <keyword id="6405739" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="classes" source="Orion">Classes</keyword> 10 and 12 exams will be held in an offline mode from March 24 to April 12. The Board officials have announced the detailed timetable of both high school and intermediate <keyword id="32862" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="board-exams" source="Orion">board exams</keyword> in Prayagraj. UP Board exams for class 10 and 12 to be held offline from March 24

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (<keyword id="3444279" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="upmsp" source="Orion">UPMSP</keyword>) has decided that 100 per cent of the syllabus would be taught to students from this academic session. The decision will be implemented in all 28,000 schools affiliated with the <keyword id="119108" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="up-board" source="Orion">UP Board</keyword>. During the pandemic, the board had reduced the syllabus by 30 per cent for Classes 9 to 12. The practice continued till the last academic session. However, from the new session, the entire syllabus will be taught in all subjects. The new session will start on April 1. UP Board secretary <keyword id="4814406" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="divyakant-shukla" source="Orion">Divyakant Shukla</keyword> said, "During the last two years, due to Covid-19, regular teaching and learning in schools were disrupted. Keeping in view the interest of the students, the course committee recommended the curtailment of 30 per cent of the annual course. Under this, the curriculum in schools was shortened. Now, as the conditions have returned to normal, 100 per cent of the syllabus will be taught from the new academic session." The UP Board secretary added that the secondary schools are back to their regular routine after two years and hence, there is no justification left for the curtailment of the syllabus. The UP Board has also laid emphasis on paying attention to extra-curricular activities for the all-around development of the students from the new session. UP schools back to 100% syllabus for the first time since pandemic

<ul><li>Every single student in 98 schools failed class X. </li><li>The class XII exams were no better, as all the students in 52 schools failed. </li><li>In all, 6.7 million students were slated to appear for the exams - 3.7 million for the class X exams and 3 million for class XII. </li><li>One million students dropped out of the board exams (Class X and XII exams) in 2018.</li></ul> The results of the <keyword id="1697658" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Uttar-Pradesh-Secondary-Education-Board">Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board</keyword> (UPSEB) were declared in India on April 29th and they were truly abysmal. Every single student in 98 schools failed class X. The class XII exams were no better, as all the students in 52 schools failed. The schools in question were a mix of both government and private schools. Class X and XII are high school equivalents in the Indian education system. "This year strict measures were adopted by the state government to check copying. Apart from it, there is a possibility of only a dozen or so students appearing from such schools so we will decide on the fate of all such educational institutes when the board will reopen," Secretary, UPSEB, Neena Srivastava told the <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/education/dubious-distinction-all-students-fail-in-150-schools/articleshow/63980370.cms">Times of India</a>. She also added that “the board will analyse the results and after that explanation could be sought from principals of these schools in case of a negative report." The board’s office was closed for three days post Sunday. Reports of incessant cheating over the last few years forced the government to take some strict measures this year. Some of these measures <a href="https://www.financialexpress.com/india-news/up-board-exam-2018-cheating-mafia-up-in-arms-as-yogi-aditynaths-crackdown-sanitizes-centres/1065550/">included</a> installing CCTV cameras in examination halls and getting rid of people who used to carry loudspeakers, dictating answers to students. A Special Task Force and local intelligence were also brought in to check activities of the so-called ‘cheating mafia’. Sources within the mafia told <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/agra/-exams-turn-serious-now-with-sanitized-centres/articleshow/62906590.cms">The Times Of India</a> that students had three ‘packages’ available to them to aid them with cheating - students who were equipped with their own cheating material and wrote the papers themselves paid ₹5,000. Those who chose to be dictated the correct answers were charged ₹10,000 and the highest amount of ₹15,000 was charged for students who just marked their attendance and had touts/agents write the exams for them. This crackdown has, however, led to a mass dropout of students planning to take the exams - says the report. Over one million students dropped out of the board exams (Class X and XII exams) in 2018. All in all, around 6.7 million students were slated to appear for the exams - 3.7 million for the class X exams and 3 million for class XII. This year, 50 out of a total of 75 districts were declared ‘sensitive’ by UPSEB. In Ghazipur district, not one student in 17 schools passed. Of these, all students in 11 schools failed to clear the class X exam and in six schools, all students of class XII failed to pass. This was closely followed by the Allahabad district where none of the students in six schools passed. There are even instances of schools in bigger cities like the state capital Lucknow and Agra that had not one student clear the exams.
