India is budding with youngsters. 65% of the Indian population is the youth, who are the future and have the right inclination towards technology.  Sumesh strongly believes the countries youth is evolving and adapting to the new things including applications rapidly. U2opia is planning to launch two new apps in the coming months. These apps are being built for both <keyword id="75489" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="IOS">iOS</keyword> and <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> operating systems in U2opia’s research and development labs in Delhi/NCR. 
 
One should be able to see the new apps in the first two quarters of 2014. U2opia has already got some nice apps including fonetwish (a USSD based internet app) that has over 10 million users. Their armada of apps will grow to 6 once the new apps are live and kicking. We for one are waiting in anticipation. Hopefully the curtains will be raised on at least one of them in the first quarter of 2014.

Based on results from the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and Cyber Monday, <keyword id="939877" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Pinterest">Pinterest</keyword> stands to be the dominant social commerce platform.
On Cyber Monday, sales that came to retailers through Pinterest grew by 260%, according to the marketing and analytics company Piqora. On both Thanksgiving and <keyword id="14520" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="Black-Friday">Black Friday</keyword>, revenue that came through the social media platform was up 100% as well.
What's even more interesting is that traffic on Pinterest didn't increase on the mentioned days. That means that individual Pinterest users are becoming more and more likely to move from browsing to purchasing. 
Finally, Pinterest drives a disproportionate share of e-commerce sales in comparison to its active user base. Pinterest's share of social-generated e-commerce is within a few percentage points of Facebook's, yet the company only has 4% as many monthly active users as Facebook. <keyword id="6354427" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Apple">Apple</keyword> made the most significant overhaul to its operating system with the updates for iOS 7, which rolled out to the public on September 18th.

Almost two and a half months after the launch, iOS 7 is running on about 74% of active iOS devices, according to data from Apple, which tracks platform distribution through its App Store. More importantly, a further 22% of active iOS devices are running the previous version of the platform, iOS 6. In sum, 96% of Apple iOS devices are running the two latest versions of the platform. 
Compare that to <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword>, which also recently released the newest version of its platform, Kit Kat, on October 31st. Updated platform distribution data from Google's <keyword id="142327" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="developer">developer</keyword> website shows that in one month, a paltry 1.1% of Android devices are up to date. Also, only 56% of Android devices run either Kit Kat or its predecessor, Jelly Bean.
It seems Apple has done a more effective job of building both user and developer trust, and excitement, around the company's platform launches. While most iOS users were likely intrigued by the new aesthetics of the platform, they also knew developers would be updating their apps to highlight the iOS 7 design. Online ad network <a href="http://chitika.com/insights/2013/ios-7-adoption" target="_blank">Chitika</a> found that even after one week, iOS 7 uptake had eclipsed 50% of Apple devices. <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2013/09/17/ios-7-optimized-apps-start-hitting-the-app-store-starting-with-flipboard-and-foursquare/" target="_blank">To meet this consumer demand, a number of the most popular apps were iOS 7 optimized and ready for upgrade on launch day</a>. 
While earning potential between the two platforms is <a href="https://intelligence.businessinsider.com/developers-still-enticed-by-ios-revenue-2013-7" target="_blank">now almost equal</a>, developers still welcome a more unified platform where they can target a majority of active users.
