<p class="enhanced-subtitle">The actor spoke to Insider about his return as Scott McCall, reuniting with costars from the MTV series, and the absence of Dylan O'Brien's Stiles in "Teen Wolf: The Movie."</p><p class="drop-cap">Tyler Posey may not be a teen or a wolf, but his life has been running parallel to Scott McCall's ever since he first slipped into the character's maroon No. 11 lacrosse jersey over a decade ago.</p><p>"Scott and I have always sort of had a similar trajectory ever since the show started, because in the first episode, he got bit by a werewolf, his life changed," Posey told Insider. "I got 'Teen Wolf' and my life changed in a different way, but we were still sort of on the same wavelength."</p><p>Jeff Davis' <a href="https://www.insider.com/teen-wolf-cast-then-and-now-photos-2020-6">"Teen Wolf"</a>  had all the makings of success when it premiered in June 2011: an altruistic protagonist navigating his teen years under abnormal circumstances, a sarcastic but extremely lovable sidekick (<a href="https://www.insider.com/zoey-deutch-dylan-obrien-not-okay-character-realistic-interview-2022-7">Dylan O'Brien</a>'s Stiles Stilinski), high-school romances, and an abundance of supernatural happenings in a time when vampires, werewolves, and other dangerous, but attractive creatures were plentiful in pop culture (see: "Supernatural," "True Blood," "<a href="https://www.insider.com/the-vampire-diaries-cast-then-and-now-photos-2018-8">The Vampire Diaries</a>," and of course, "<a href="https://www.insider.com/twilight-baseball-scene-breakdown-anniversary-cast-crew-interview-2020-11">Twilight</a>"). </p><p>The series turned Posey from a child actor to a heartthrob, the kind of star whose face would be on billboards in Times Square and whose presence would attract hundreds of fans at<a href="https://www.insider.com/sdcc-hall-h-panel-experience-what-its-like-comic-con-2022-7"> San Diego Comic-Con</a>.</p><p>It was on "Teen Wolf" that Posey embraced the responsibility of leading a TV show, as seasons passed and various cast members exited the show and new actors entered the fold.</p><div type="image" title="Tyler Posey as Scott McCall on season one of &quot;Teen Wolf.&quot;" height="1592" width="2123" msid="97403510" hostid="261" sizebytes="71542"></div><p>And while Scott was becoming a true alpha, trying to keep his friends and family alive in Beacon Hills, Posey was witnessing the deaths of loved ones in real life. </p><p>His mom, Cyndi Garcia,<a href="https://www.justjaredjr.com/2014/12/29/tyler-poseys-mom-cyndi-died-earlier-this-month/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> died of breast cancer</a> at age 55 in 2014. Posey was 23 at the time and the season five premiere of "Teen Wolf" was dedicated to her. </p><p>"I dealt with death at an early age, and we were both distracted by Beacon Hills," Posey says of the parallel between himself and his character. "I was working on Beacon Hills, he was living in Beacon Hills. And it didn't take until 'Teen Wolf' stopped for me to really digest everything that had been happening in my life for the past 20 years, grieve, learn how to mourn, relive everything, and understand who I am as a person now." </p><p>"He finally had time to just sit with his life and really, for the first time, acknowledge what happened and accept and cope," the actor adds. "He and I are in a very similar situation."</p><p>Scott finds himself on a similar life path to Posey at the start of <a href="https://www.insider.com/mtv-teen-wolf-movie-details-plot-information-2021-10">"Teen Wolf: The Movie,"</a> which picks up approximately 15 years later and landed on Peacock on Thursday.</p><p>Now in his<a href="https://variety.com/2023/scene/news/tyler-posey-teen-wolf-movie-scott-mccall-sober-1235494852/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> early 30s</a> (like Posey in real life) and working as a vet in LA, Scott is feeling wistful and lonely, having left Beacon Hills behind a while ago to get eliminate the distraction of "trying to save everybody and be the hero," Posey explains. </p><p>"He and I are very similar in that sense that we've got trauma, but we're very much settled into who we are as a person."</p><p class="drop-cap">"Teen Wolf: The Movie" brings back a multitude of characters from the original show as Scott and his pack team up to defeat a menacing threat in Beacon Hills, but many fans believe the movie shouldn't have <a href="https://variety.com/2022/film/columns/dylan-obrien-teen-wolf-movie-1235200247/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">moved forward without </a><a href="https://www.gq.com/story/dylan-obrien-the-outfit-all-too-well-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stiles</a>. Posey, however, disagrees, pointing out that O'Brien had a decreased presence on the final season <a href="https://screenrant.com/teen-wolf-season-6-stiles-dylan-obrien-missing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">due to scheduling conflicts with "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure."</a> (O'Brien even told Entertainment Tonight at the time that <a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/222362_dylan_o_brien_won_t_return_for_teen_wolf_revival" target="_blank" rel="noopener">he wasn't contractually obligated to appear at all in season six</a>.) </p><p>"The last season and a half, I think, he wasn't on the show, so I was used to carrying the weight of the show on my shoulders, which is something I always wanted anyway," Posey says. "I always wanted to be the leader and bear that weight and responsibility of keeping the morale up and getting good work in, and still having it be this really fun working atmosphere."</p><p>"So it wasn't shocking, it wasn't too different, but it's always nice to have Stiles there with me," he adds. "He still lives on in all of our hearts and he helped sort of shape this show into what it is."</p><div type="image" title="teen wolf stiles scott " height="900" width="1617" msid="97403511" hostid="261" sizebytes="56370"></div><p>Although O'Brien isn't in "Teen Wolf: The Movie," Stiles' beloved Jeep is back and ever-present in the story. "Memories just flood back" when Posey recalls filming with O'Brien in Stiles' beloved Jeep. </p><p>"Dylan learned how to drive a stick with that Jeep, and that Jeep is three times older than we are," he says. "So it was frightening for the both of us to be inside that Jeep under his control, which he didn't have much of."</p><p>"There were moments where we would have to start on a hill and they would say action and he would hit the gas, but we would be rolling backward and we'd both scream and he'd slam on the brakes and they'd go 'cut' and we're like, 'We're gonna die in this thing!'" Posey continues. "So, the Jeep holds a lot of really great memories of growing up and really fun moments that I loved to share with Dylan."</p><p>Crystal Reed however is back, despite her character Allison Argent getting killed off during the season three finale of "Teen Wolf." </p><p>Posey says that he and Reed connected on a different, more spiritual level as adults because of their similar routines, like morning meditations. </p><p>"Everything is just calmer," he says. "I'm a little more calculated. I'm more present with every moment."</p><div type="image" title="Tyler Posey as Scott, Vince Mattis as Eli, and Crystal Reed as Allison in &quot;Teen Wolf: The Movie.&quot;" height="4000" width="6000" msid="97403512" hostid="261" sizebytes="3367542"></div><p>As a producer on the movie, Posey says he was able to "step up without overstepping my boundaries and give some advice or give my two cents."</p><p>"I'm just another voice of reason in the madness of the 'Teen Wolf' filming world," he says, adding that he came to work with a collaborative attitude. He even assumed the position of a real-life mentor to Vince Mattis, who plays Eli, the 15-year-old son of Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin). </p><p>"I really took Vince under my wing, and he and I had such a good time," Posey says, adding, "He's still newer in this industry and he reminded me of myself."</p><p>Posey especially wanted Mattis to understand that — even though the show is a huge deal to its fans — the cast is still having fun and not taking themselves too seriously. "I wanted to show him that like, none of us are egocentric, you know?"</p><p class="drop-cap">With a sequel movie comes the inevitable question, "Will there be even more?" If it's up to Posey, there will be.</p><p>"I hope there's more 'Teen Wolf,'" Posey reiterates. "I really do. I want to do it justice. I want to do the fans justice and give them exactly what they want and keep it going and be really excited about the future for it, you know? I want that role. If it means me protesting to Paramount+ that I want the show to keep going, then so be it."</p><div type="image" title="Tyler Posey as Scott McCall in &quot;Teen Wolf: The Movie.&quot;" height="3525" width="4700" msid="97403513" hostid="261" sizebytes="2242586"></div><p>But even if Posey isn't ready to say goodbye to Scott just yet, not every character will live on to see another "Teen Wolf" spin-off — something the actor expects fans to understand at this point as they've always "had to deal with a lot of people exiting the show and a lot of loved characters dying."</p><p>"Growing up, you, me, most of the fans I'm sure have dealt with somebody close dying. I think it's something that we need to portray," he explains, adding, "It's something that I hold personal to me cause I've dealt with the death of a loved one, and I love being able to portray that on-screen and having people relate to it. It's just another means for us to make the world seem less scary and not as lonely. We're going through the same stuff that other people are going through."</p><p>"But also, 'Teen Wolf' has been known to bring every single person back from the dead, so it's never finite."</p>

It'll be written and executive produced by Jeff Davis, who created the original series. "I wish them well and I'm going to watch it the first night it comes out. "So Scott wanted to step away. He lives in Los Angeles now. He wanted to get away from Beacon Hills. "And he is lonely. He's an adult. He's going through what all of us have gone through as adults. He's dealt with some really serious moments in his life, with Beacon Hills. But stepping away, he deals with the reality of what it is to be an actual human. And instead of a superhero werewolf saving the world constantly, he now has to figure out how to save himself."</p><p>"He's a little more relaxed," Posey added. "He's not so focused on saving the world yet."</p><p>The actor elaborated more on his character's journey during his appearance at NYCC, saying that "emotionally, physically, he was constantly on edge trying to save the world, trying to be the true alpha."</p><p>"That's all Scott knew because he's a true alpha and became a true alpha because he is innately a hero and putting down that role, he's lost himself a little bit," Posey said.</p><p>Of Scott's loneliness, the actor said: "He's missing the hero role, he's missing friends, he's missing Beacon Hills, he's missing family. We see Scott as a sort of troubled adult, depressed, kind of dealing with loneliness for the first time. But I fell back in love with her which was nice."</p><p style="font-weight: 400;">At NYCC, Reed said that all her "Teen Wolf" memories came back to her while on the set of the film. She also teased that the movie will include flashbacks.</p><p style="font-weight: 400;">"And it was really clear to me how much I had grown as a person and how I was able to put that into Allison's journey," she explained. "But when I look back at the pilot phase and I think about who we were then, our essence of who we are is still the same. The "<a href="https://www.insider.com/zoey-deutch-dylan-obrien-not-okay-character-realistic-interview-2022-7">Not Okay</a>" actor <a href="https://www.etonline.com/dylan-obrien-shuts-down-any-chance-of-teen-wolf-cameo-in-new-movie-talks-not-okay-exclusive-188203" rel=" nofollow">repeatedly</a> <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/dylan-obrien-the-outfit-all-too-well-interview" rel=" nofollow">stated</a> in interviews that he wouldn't appear, telling <a href="https://variety.com/2022/film/columns/dylan-obrien-teen-wolf-movie-1235200247/" rel=" nofollow">Variety</a> in March 2022: "Ultimately, I just decided it was left in a really good place for me and I still want to leave it there."</p><p>O'Brien also told <a href="https://extratv.com/2022/07/29/dylan-o-brien-won-t-rule-out-a-teen-wolf-return-exclusive/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Extra</a> that he lent the movie Stiles' Jeep, which he kept after the TV show wrapped and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1V1Zu7XYaI">is still in possession of</a>.</p><p>The Jeep was prevalent throughout "Teen Wolf" and sort of became a character as the show progressed, so it makes sense that it would somehow be incorporated into the movie. </p><div type="image" title="Tyler Posey and Dylan O'Brien on season six of &quot;Teen Wolf.&quot;" height="1199" width="1599" msid="97355223" hostid="261" sizebytes="63326"></div><p>In "Teen Wolf: The Movie," Derek Hale's (Tyler Hoechlin) 15-year-old son Eli (Vince Mattis) has an "unhealthy fixation" on the Jeep, Mason Hewitt (Khylin Rhambo) says, and takes it out for joyrides without his dad's permission.</p><p>Near the end of the film, after Derek sacrifices himself so the pack can win, Sheriff Stilinski (Linden Ashby) gives Eli the keys to the Jeep and talks about its significance. Apparently, wherever Stiles is in the world, he left his beat-up car in Beacon Hills.</p><p>"After my son left it behind, Derek towed it in and it was probably beyond repair," Sheriff Stilinski says. "But then he opened up the hood and he pulled off all the duct tape Stiles had stuck on it, and he managed to fix it. That Jeep, no matter what's been done to it, it just keeps running. He could never figure out why it wouldn't break down and stay down. And I don't think he ever realized that that's exactly the way we saw him."</p><p>"Your dad had complicated feelings about that Jeep, but it doesn't mean it needs to be complicated for you," he tells Eli. </p><p>Then in a callback to Eli's first scene in the movie, the teen is shown driving the Jeep as its new owner.</p><h2>Stiles doesn't make an appearance in the movie because he's preoccupied </h2><div type="image" title="Dylan O'Brien on season six of &quot;Teen Wolf.&quot;" height="1526" width="2035" msid="97355225" hostid="261" sizebytes="40262"></div><p>The reason that Scott and his pack reunite in Beacon Hills is two-fold.</p><p>The logline and trailers for the film teased a "terrifying evil" that draws Scott to his hometown and team up with his allies. While this is true, Scott initially begins reconnecting with Chris Argent (JR Bourne), and Lydia Martin (Holland Roden) because they all have been experiencing recurring variations of hallucinations of Allison Argent (Crystal Reed). </p><p>Even though it's been 15 years since Allison was killed off on the season three finale of "Teen Wolf," they suspect that perhaps she's stuck in limbo between life and death and never crossed over.</p><p>So, they go to Beacon Hills, along with Jackson Whittemore (Colton Haynes), to perform a ritual that may be able to help Allison. In doing so, they inadvertently bring a version of her back to life. </p><div type="image" title="Tyler Posey as Scott, Vince Mattis as Eli, and Crystal Reed as Allison in &quot;Teen Wolf: The Movie.&quot;" height="4000" width="6000" msid="97355229" hostid="261" sizebytes="3367542"></div><p>Meanwhile, the characters that still live in Beacon Hills and work for the police force — Sheriff Stilinski (Linden Ashby), Jordan Parrish (Ryan Kelley), and Mason — are preoccupied with an apparent serial arsonist who's been setting fires in the woods. </p><p>Early in the film, after the most recent fire occurs, Sheriff Stilinski asks Derek, who's a consultant for the police: "Do I need to call in the FBI?"</p><p>In response, Derek says, "Maybe you should be calling your son."</p><p>"Trust me, right now, Stiles has his own fires to put out. I think we can handle one arsonist," Sheriff Stilinski replies.</p><p>This is likely a reference to Stiles joining the FBI as an intern on the final season of "Teen Wolf."</p><h2>Lydia reveals she broke up with Stiles because of a recurring dream </h2><div type="image" title="Holland Roden and Dylan O'Brien on the series finale of &quot;Teen Wolf.&quot;" height="1508" width="2011" msid="97355230" hostid="261" sizebytes="56930"></div><p>"Teen Wolf: The Movie" doesn't address whether or not Scott and Stiles are still best friends, but it's clear that many of his pack members drifted apart within their circle.</p><p>Early in the movie, Jackson alludes to Lydia and Stiles' relationship status when Chris Argent asks why she stopped using her banshee power. </p><p>"Obviously it has something to do with Stiles," Jackson says nonchalantly. </p><p>This is confirmed later when the film's main villain, Adrian Harris (Adam Fristoe) — the former chemistry teacher who was presumed to be dead at the end of season three, episode four — forces Lydia to reveal the pain of her heartbreak. </p><p>Specifically, Adrian threatens to kill Jackson in front of her if she doesn't say why she left Stiles. </p><div type="image" title="Colton Haynes as Jackson and Holland Roden as Lydia in &quot;Teen Wolf: The Movie.&quot;" height="2689" width="3585" msid="97355232" hostid="261" sizebytes="288136"></div><p>Lydia reluctantly explains that she had a recurring dream, in which she and Stiles were involved in a car crash that left him dead.</p><p>"He wasn't blinking, he wasn't breathing," she said. </p><p>She couldn't tell if it was just a dream or if it was a premonition. But if she ended their relationship, Stiles wouldn't be in danger of dying and she shouldn't use her banshee wail.</p><p>"If I was never in the car with him there wouldn't be a crash," Lydia said. "He wouldn't have to die."</p><p>So, she had to leave Stiles for his own safety.</p>

Now, the iconic Comic-Con is back in full force and I had the opportunity to fly from New York to California to witness the chaos as a senior entertainment reporter for <a href="https://www.insider.com">Insider</a>.</p><p>I had high hopes for my experience inside Hall H, the largest room at SDCC that hosts the biggest and buzziest panels. Here's what it was like.</p><h2>Hall H is SDCC's famous room where stars gather to discuss their latest projects, announce major castings or other key details, and unveil exclusive first looks</h2><div type="image" title="San Diego Comic Con's Hall H seen in 2022." height="2656" width="3541" msid="93075647" hostid="261"></div><p>Basically, if you're attending San Diego Comic-Con, you're going to want to get into Hall H at least once. And it's so difficult to get into the space that Marvel fans literally <a href="https://comicbook.com/marvel/news/comic-con-fans-are-already-lining-up-for-hall-h/">camp out</a> days in advance so they can get attend the studio's usual Saturday evening slot.</p><p>People who have been lucky to be inside Hall H often rave about the room's unrivaled energy, so I was curious to see what my reaction would be once I got confirmed for the "<a href="https://www.insider.com/mtv-teen-wolf-movie-details-plot-information-2021-10">Teen Wolf: The Movie</a>" panel on day one of the convention, Thursday at 1:30 p.m.</p><p>This year's Hall H lineup includes the upcoming Paramount+ film "<keyword id="12292546" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="teen-wolf" source="Orion">Teen Wolf</keyword>: The Movie," HBO's forthcoming "Game of Thrones" spin-off series "House of the Dragon," and the final season of AMC's "The Walking Dead."</p><p>As a fan of MTV's "<a href="https://www.insider.com/teen-wolf-cast-then-and-now-photos-2020-6">Teen Wolf</a>" series that ran for six seasons between 2011 and 2017, I was elated to have the opportunity to check out the panel for their new movie, and it didn't disappoint. </p><div type="image" title="Jeff Davis, Tyler Hoechlin, and Tyler Posey speak at the &quot;Teen Wolf: The Movie&quot; panel in Hall H at the 2022 Comic-Con International held at the San Diego Convention Center on July 21, 2022 in San Diego, California." height="2200" width="2934" msid="93075649" hostid="261"></div><p>Upon walking into the room, I felt chills — perhaps a result of the air conditioning on full blast and my own nerves about being inside Hall H after years of seeing videos and photos. The chatter in the room increased as more eager fans filed into the space.</p><p>As a member of the press with a reserved seat, I was able to secure a spot approximately 10 rows away from the stage, which undoubtedly contributed to my positive experience.</p><h2>Thunderous applause echoed through the <a href="https://sdccblog.com/2015/06/san-diego-comic-con-room-capacities/">6,500-capacity room</a> when 'Teen Wolf' creator Jeff Davis and actors Tyler Posey and Tyler Hoechlin took the stage </h2><div type="image" title="Jeff Davis, Tyler Hoechlin, and Tyler Posey speak at the &quot;Teen Wolf: The Movie&quot; panel in Hall H at the 2022 Comic-Con International held at the San Diego Convention Center on July 21, 2022 in San Diego, California." height="2716" width="3622" msid="93075651" hostid="261"></div><p>It seemed like the stars were just as elated as the fans to be back at SDCC, particularly Posey, who was the most vocal supporter of a "Teen Wolf" continuation project, which is set for release on Paramount+ sometime this year.</p><p>During the panel, Davis spilled new details about the new movie, Posey and Hoechlin (who play Scott McCall and Derek Hale, respectively) talked about their bromance, and fans had the opportunity to ask questions. </p><p>The energy reached a new level when the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okJGAJJI5vk">first trailer</a> for "Teen Wolf: The Movie" was unveiled at SDCC.</p><p>Each time a returning cast member showed up on the big screen in the center of Hall H, fans screamed, squealed, or gasped.</p><p>When the trailer concluded by showing the return of "Teen Wolf" star Crystal Reed as Allison with flames behind her and her signature archery quiver strapped to her back, people straight-up shrieked.  </p><div type="image" title="Crystal Reed returns as Allison in &quot;Teen Wolf: The Movie.&quot;" height="1116" width="1488" msid="93075653" hostid="261"></div><h2>In true Hall H fashion, the panel saved its biggest reveal for the very end</h2><p>Given the room's history of featuring big surprises, I hoped something unexpected would happen. Many wished it would be "Teen Wolf" fan-favorite Dylan O'Brien, who has <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/dylan-obrien-the-outfit-all-too-well-interview">repeatedly stated</a> that he's <a href="https://ew.com/events/comic-con/teen-wolf-the-movie-comic-con-2022-interview/">not reprising his role</a> as Stiles Stilinski. </p><p>O'Brien didn't show up at Hall H, but a '90s and early 2000s icon did: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" alum Sarah Michelle Geller, who announced that she'll star in Davis' upcoming "Teen Wolf" spinoff series "Wolf Pack."</p><p>The video that I captured of Geller taking the stage doesn't even encapsulate the feeling of being in that room and witnessing a moment like that first-hand.   </p><p>The stars' genuine passion, love for each, and appreciation for the fans were all palpable throughout the panel — especially when, at the conclusion, Posey removed the three name cards from the table and gave them to lucky attendees as a keepsake. </p><p>I was a high schooler when "Teen Wolf" premiered and a college grad the year that it ended.</p><p>Being in Hall H for the first time ever for the "Teen Wolf: The Movie" panel, now as a senior entertainment reporter, was a fulfilling, full-circle moment for me that I'll never forget. </p><p><em>Follow along with Insider's San Diego-Comic Con coverage <a href="https://insider.com/category/san-diego-comic-con-2022">here</a>.</em></p>

Stokely, who remains the CEO of the organization, was described by The Times as the <a href="https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/meet-the-king-of-homemade-porn-a-bankers-son-making-millions-z9vhq9c9s">"king of homemade porn,"</a> previously owning adult performance websites GlamGirls and Customs4U.</p><p>Due to high-profile names joining the platform, OnlyFans has made headlines and become a staple in popular <keyword id="11899151" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="culture" source="Orion">culture</keyword> in recent years, even receiving a <a href="https://www.insider.com/beyonce-raps-about-demon-time-strippers-on-instagram-live-2020-5">shoutout</a> from Beyoncé in her 2020 remix of Megan Thee Stallion's hit track "Savage." </p><p>But it has also faced a spate of controversies, including content leaks, allegations of underage creators, and most recently backlash to the platform's decision to ban explicit content, which was quickly <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/onlyfans-reverses-ban-sexually-explicit-content-2021-8">reversed.</a></p><p>Here's everything you need to know about the controversial rise of the hugely popular platform. </p><h2><strong>OnlyFans is a membership-based platform where users can unlock content behind a paywall</strong></h2><p>OnlyFans allows creators to post a range of exclusive content that their "fans" pay to unlock via a monthly subscription, which the creator can set between $5 and $50 per month. Along with videos and photos, creators can offer services like phone calls, direct message conversations, and group chat access. </p><div type="image" title="A screen showing the OnlyFans website" height="1126" width="2252" msid="86205887" hostid="261"></div><p>Customers also have the option to "tip" creators if they especially like their content or want something tailored to them. Subscribers who have been on the site for less than four months are able to tip up to $100 per day, while those who have been on the site longer can tip up to $200 per day. </p><p>OnlyFans also has a "top creator" system. This means that if creators are considered as being in between the top 10% and top 0.1% of all creators, they will be notified privately by the platform of their individual percentage. According to <a href="https://onlyfans.com/help/3/16/60">OnlyFans' FAQ</a>, the top creator tool is "an <em>informational tool</em> that compares account performance to other OnlyFans creators over the last 30 days." </p><p>It's commonplace for creators to use their individual percentage and position in this top percentile as a marketing tool for new subscribers.</p><p>According to <a href="https://onlyfans.com/about">OnlyFans' data</a>, which comes from their own internal team, it has 174 million monthly visits and 5.5 million daily unique visitors. It also boasts 150 million registered users and 1.5 million content creators. </p><p>OnlyFans takes 20% of creators' revenue, and the platform says pays out a total of $5 billion to creators every year.</p><h2><strong>OnlyFans has always been popular with sex workers, but it exploded during the pandemic </strong> </h2><p>Between March and April 2020, the beginning of <a href="https://www.insider.com/people-are-creating-onlyfans-accounts-after-losing-jobs-during-pandemic-2020-6">the coronaviru pandemic</a>, OnlyFans saw a 75% month-to-month increase in signups. OnlyFans later confirmed the figure to <a href="https://www.dailydot.com/unclick/bhad-bhabie-onlyfans/">The Daily Dot</a>. Bhad Bhabie, whose real name is Danielle Bregoli, has been in the public eye since she was 13 years old after going viral following her appearance on "Dr Phil."</p><div type="image" title="bhad bhabie rehab drugs" height="512" width="1024" msid="86205888" hostid="261"></div><p>Bregoli made an account shortly after turning 18. <a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/bhad-babie-onlyfans-danielle-bregoli-minimum-age-1152696/">Rolling Stone</a> reported how some social media users were "distressed" that so many fans were "counting down for Bhad Bhabie to come of legal age." </p><p>The record was previously held by former Disney star <keyword id="11910983" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="bella-thorne" source="Orion">Bella Thorne</keyword> who, upon joining OnlyFans, <a href="https://variety.com/2020/digital/news/bella-thorne-breaks-onlyfans-record-1-million-24-hours-1234749127/">made $1 million in 24 hours</a>. </p><p>Veteran sex workers on the platform quickly accused Thorne of "gentrifying" OnlyFans, with many<a href="https://www.insider.com/onlyfans-creators-call-on-bella-thorne-share-the-money-earned-2020-8"> calling on her to redistribute the wealth she quickly accrued </a>on the platform. "A millionaire making more millions during a pandemic while others starve, isn't the feel good story anyone is looking for," Castle B Productions, a sex worker and adult industry photographer, told Insider in an email at the time. </p><p>Shortly after the controversy, the platform imposed limits on how much users can tip and how much creators can charge, leading many creators, including sex workers, to express concern that their income would be affected. OnlyFans <a href="https://www.insider.com/onlyfans-limit-tips-after-bella-thorne-earned-1m-2020-8">told Insider at the time</a> that the decision was unrelated to Thorne's success.</p><h2><strong>Concerns have also been raised about the platform's ability to keep children off the platform</strong></h2><p>In May, <a style="font-size: 15px;" href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-57255983">BBC News reported</a> that a number of underage users sold and appeared in explicit videos on the platform, with one 14-year-old bypassing the site's age verification measures by using her grandmother's passport to create an account which she then used to share explicit images, according to Hertfordshire Police. The BBC also obtained extracts from Childline counselor notes which reportedly included one girl who said she accessed the site when she was 13. </p><p>A <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-58255865">further investigation by the BBC</a> last month found that, according to leaked documents and interviews with OnlyFans moderators, some accounts are not automatically shut down if they are found to share illegal content, with moderators allowed to give multiple warnings to accounts before shutting them down. </p><p>While the BBC did not clarify what was meant by "illegal content," guidance from the Crown Prosecution Service explains that it is illegal in the UK to distribute, make or possess <a href="https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/indecent-and-prohibited-images-children">child pornography</a>, <a href="https://www.cps.gov.uk/crime-info/cyber-online-crime">"revenge porn"</a> (pornography involving a partner who does not consent to the footage being filmed or distributed,) and <a href="https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/extreme-pornography">"extreme porn,</a>" which includes acts involving extreme violence, animals, sexual assault, or dead bodies.</p><h2>There is also an ongoing concern about OnlyFans subscribers leaking content from creators online</h2><div type="image" title="Computer hacker silhouette" height="512" width="1024" msid="86205892" hostid="261"></div><p>In March 2020, between 1.4 and 4 terabytes of OnlyFans content was taken from behind the site's paywall and shared on Mega, a cloud storage site. A spokesperson for OnlyFans at the time <a href="https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/ryanhatesthis/terabytes-of-stolen-adult-content-from-onlyfans-have-leaked">told</a> BuzzFeed News that the content was compiled by several individual users who had access to paywalled content as opposed to any external hack or security breach on the site. </p><p>According to cloud storage service <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/en_GB/features/cloud-storage/how-much-is-1tb#:~:text=1%20TB%20gives%20you%20the,Office%20files%2C%20PDFs%20and%20presentations.">Dropbox, </a>1 terabyte can store approximately 500 hours of HD video content, suggesting the leaked OnlyFans content could have included between 700 and 2,000 hours of video content. <a href="https://www.insider.com/onlyfans-porn-leak-has-serious-safety-implications-say-creators-2020-3">Speaking to Insider</a> at the time, OnlyFans creator OsaLovely said the leak was a concern not only because it impacted sex workers' ability to make money, but also because it compromised their safety. </p><p>OnlyFans has some measures in place to stop this from happening - if you try and screenshot exclusive content on an iPhone on Android device, for example, it will only show a black screen rather than letting you try and save the picture. But subscribers are continuing to find ways around this, with Insider finding several Twitter accounts and <a href="https://melmagazine.com/en-us/story/reddit-onlyfans-leak-sites">Reddit threads</a> dedicated to sharing and distributing OnlyFans content.</p><h2><strong>OnlyFans made headlines when it banned 'explicit content' </strong></h2><p>On August 19, OnlyFans announced a highly controversial <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/onlyfans-to-block-sexually-explicit-nsfw-content-starting-in-october-2021-8?r=US&amp;IR=TIR=T">ban on explicit content </a>on the platform. At the time, the platform said the ban was in order to "comply with the requests of our banking partners and payout providers." While sexually explicit content would have no longer be allowed, users would still have been permitted to post nude videos and photos provided they didn't violate OnlyFans' <a href="https://onlyfans.com/terms">acceptable use policy</a>.</p><p>Stokely said in an interview with <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/7b8ce71c-a87a-440e-9f3d-58069ca0480b">The Financial Times</a> that they made the decision in order to "safeguard [users'] funds and subscriptions from increasingly unfair actions by banks and media companies,"</p><p>This decision received extreme backlash on social media, with sex workers, celebrities, and advocacy groups<a href="https://www.theverge.com/2021/8/23/22638310/onlyfans-ban-explicit-content-payment-processing-visa"> criticizing the move.</a></p><p>Speaking to <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/onlyfans-porn-ban-sex-workers-creators-statement-2021-8">Insider,</a> OnlyFans creator Chelsea Lynn said, "Sex work built OnlyFans, and now it feels like they're turning their back on us."</p><p>Meanwhile, in a statement to <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/aug/20/onlyfans-ban-porn-sexually-explicit-content-risk-lives-sex-workers">The Guardian</a> at the time, Mary Moody, an online sex worker and co-chair of the Adult Industry Laborers and Artists Association said that the change would "force workers currently working remotely online into riskier street-based sex work." </p><p><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/onlyfans-reverses-ban-sexually-explicit-content-2021-8?r=US&amp;IR=TIR=T">The policy was reversed</a> six days later, with OnlyFans thanking users for "making [their] voices heard" and saying in a statement that they will continue to provide a home for all creators." </p><p><a href="https://www.insider.com/culture"><strong>For more stories like this, check out coverage from Insider's Digital Culture team here.</strong></a></p>

We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character."</span></p><p><span>Up until now, the series has only showed Superman in shadow.</span></p><p><span>Hoechlin is very well known to MTV's "Teen Wolf" fans. He was a regular on the show for four seasons from 2011 to 2014. He played Derek, an older wolf to Tyler Posey's titular character.
