In the US, user-seconds reached 93B, 23% higher than the previous record of 76B. In a single day." In March, XData claimed that 250 million people use X every day for 30 minutes on an average. "You're absolutely right @XNews. 250 million people use X every day. 550 million people visit the global town square every month. On average, users spend 30 minutes a day on X," the post said. XNews said that X is 'indispensible'. In a post, it said, "X is indispensable - and the numbers prove it! What's the latest @XData?" Musk in October 2022, took ownership of the influential <keyword id="19897919" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="social-media" source="keywords">social media</keyword> platform - Twitter in USD 44 billion deal. In the ensuing days, Musk fired top executives, laid off half of the company's staff, formed a content moderation council to review account reinstatements and revamped the platform's subscription service. There have been many changes in the company since Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk took over, some of which have been rather contentious, such as when he opted to restore suspended accounts. With controversial decisions, Twitter started losing huge amounts of advertisement revenue, after which Musk introduced paid verifications in the form of <keyword id="20038997" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="twitter-blue" source="keywords">Twitter Blue</keyword>. Musk, in July 2023, rebranded the platform as X over the summer, replacing the well-known blue bird associated with Twitter. Elon Musk claims 'record high' X usage

Reddit's co-founder is bickering with investors on the company's big IPO day

The platform’s home page has stopped working and is just showing a welcome page to users. Update: X has now started working, with users reporting that the issue has been resolved. <div type="image" title="X down" msid="106174340" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The welcome message on X&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> When users try to load the home page, they are greeted with a “Welcome to X!” message. Downdetector, a popular website that tracks outages across websites and applications, has reported a massive spike in reports about the <keyword id="18810220" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="x-outage" source="Orion">X outage</keyword>. As per the platform, reports about the outage started pouring in from around 10:44 AM. It’s not just the “For You” page that is down, other pages such as “Following” are not showing up. I tried to check my followers and following from the profile section, and even those lists were empty. The hashtag “TwitterDown” has also started trending on the platform but clicking on it takes you to an empty page and the tweets are not visible. While users are still able to post tweets, the tweets are not visible to anyone, including the user who posted the tweet. At this moment, there is no information about the reason for the outage and when the issue will be resolved. TikTok owner ByteDance may be worth more than Twitter and Coca-Cola as a public company

<keyword id="6354616" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="twitter" source="Orion">Twitter</keyword>'s top executives, including Parag Agrawal and Vijaya Gadde will be entitled to "golden parachute" payouts worth more than USD 122 million after being fired by the company's new owner, <keyword id="6355315" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="elon-musk" source="Orion">Elon Musk</keyword> fired. A golden parachute is essentially a contract which entitles top executives of a company to substantial benefits in case they lose their jobs following a merger, takeover or acquisition. This measure is also known as a 'poison pill' since it can act as a safeguard against hostile takeovers. In August, US-based corporate research firm Equilar had estimated that ex-CEO Paras Agrawal alone could receive a USD 42 million payout if he is terminated after the takeover. The debt-funded deal has become a costly exercise even for Musk, the world's richest man. Legal costs in particular are likely to have run into the tens of millions of dollars after Musk tried to terminate the deal with Twitter in July, arguing that the company had misled him over the number of bot accounts on the social network. Agrawal is likely to receive the largest payout, worth USD 57.4 million, while Segal and Gedde are entitled to USD 44.5 million and USD 20 million respectively, according to company filings. The three executives also hold a cumulative 1.2 million shares, which are likely to be bought by Musk as is standard in any takeover. Those payments would be worth USD 8.4 million to Agrawal, USD 22 m to Segal and USD 34.8 million to Gadde. After closing the USD 44 billion acquisition deal, Elon Musk has started to reform the policies of the micro-blogging platform and is wasting no time remodelling it by cutting off employees, and introducing plans for a council to determine content decisions, The Hill reported. In one of the first few changes, he purged the top executives of the company as soon as he closed the expected deal in which Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and finance chief Ned Segal left the company's San Francisco headquarters. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut declared ominously."Change is going to come," Sen. Lindsay Graham of South Carolina warned the CEOs.Democrats and Republicans were united in criticizing the companies and the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-is-section-230-internet-law-communications-decency-act-explained-2020-5">regulatory shield Facebook and Twitter enjoy</a>, but that was mostly where the similarities ended. This hearing, like those before it, served mainly to showcase the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/senator-chatz-section-230-tech-hearing-dorsey-zuckerberg-pichai-sham-2020-10">reality gap between the parties</a> when it comes to basic facts.But there was one interesting comment from Zuckerberg, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/zuckerberg-facebook-should-be-liable-some-content-2020-11">who shared his thoughts on how social media should be regulated</a>. Zuck's take: Not like telecommunications companies (which have almost no liability) and not like news publishers (which have lots of liability). So what then? "I do think we have responsibilities, and it may make sense for there to be liability for some of the content that is on the platform,"<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/zuckerberg-facebook-should-be-liable-some-content-2020-11">Zuckerberg said.</a> "But I don't think the analogies to these other industries that were created previously will ever be fully the right way to look at this."<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/zuckerberg-facebook-should-be-liable-some-content-2020-11"><div type="image" title="Dorsey Zuckerberg" height="1134" width="1942" msid="79290790" hostid="261"></div></a>Missing from the action was the CEO of the internet's hottest new property, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-is-parler-app-social-media-twitter">Parler</a>. <keyword id="9465142" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="parler">Parler</keyword>'s CEO is not a household name (it's John Matze, by the way), and until two weeks ago, Parler was not a well known app, either.Parler is an <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-is-parler-app-social-media-twitter">alternative social network devoted to free speech</a> — and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/parlers-investors-include-a-big-angel-investor-and-a-pro-trump-pundit-2020-11">secretly funded by Rebekah Mercer</a>, a longtime conservative donor who is the daughter of hedge fund billionaire Robert Mercer — which has seen an influx of new users in the past couple of weeks. The catalyst for Parler's growth spurt appears to be Facebook's <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/parler-election-conservative-social-media-app-stop-the-steal-2020-11">clampdown on groups like "Stop the Steal,"</a> a network of users who falsely claim Joe Biden stole the election from Donald Trump.The Parler app shot up to the number one spot on the Apple App Store's list of most downloaded apps last week, and now boasts 10 million users, according to the Wall Street Journal. Angel One broking firm likes the price as it says the valuations appear fair considering its positioning. “Star Health stands out among other standalone health insurers in terms of size, strong growth rates and better operational performance which is reflected in pre-Covid numbers for the company. The valuations commanded by Star Health are in-line with recent deals in the segment and appear fair considering its positioning. Hence, we recommend ‘subscribe’ from a long-term perspective only,” said the broking firm. Rajnath Yadav from Choice broking firm thinks the IPO could have been cheaper. “At a higher price band of ₹900, Star Health is demanding a market cap-to-net premium earned multiple of 10.3 times, which is at premium to the peer average. Moreover, the demanded valuations are at elevated premium to recent capital issuance,” said the analyst The private health insurer has a market share of 15.8% in the Indian health insurance market as of financial year 2021.
