She was found later on June 2 after she went missing for three days. According to the report, mutilated body was discovered after a pack of stray dogs had been spotted carrying what appeared to be human body parts. The Bollywood celebrities are demanding "immediate and strictest punishment for the heinous crime".

A ₹10,000 loan ends in the murder of a 3-year old girl in India — and Bollywood has joined the national outrage

New Delhi, Jan 17 (PTI) President <keyword id="6354561" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="ram-nath-kovind">Ram Nath Kovind</keyword> on Friday rejected the mercy plea of Mukesh Singh, one of the four men convicted in the 2012 <keyword id="6357643" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nirbhaya">Nirbhaya</keyword> gangrape and murder case, sources said. The rejection came soon after the Union Home Ministry forwarded the petition to the president on Friday morning. "It's a very good thing. Our hopes have gone up after the disheartening news that the execution might be delayed," the young woman's father told PTI as news came in of the rejection. Mukesh had filed his mercy petition two days ago. The four convicts -- Mukesh (32), Vinay Sharma (26), Akshay Kumar Singh (31) and Pawan Gupta (25) -- were to be hanged on January 22 at 7 am in Tihar Jail, a Delhi court had announced on January 7 while issuing their death warrants. However, the Delhi government informed the high court during a hearing that the execution of the convicts will not take place on the day as a mercy plea had been filed by Mukesh.

Hussain is absconding and following the murder charges, the ruling <keyword id="6354944" type="DEFINITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="aam-aadmi-party">Aam Aadmi Party</keyword> has suspended him. He is also seeking an anticipatory bail in the case and the hearing is scheduled for Wednesday. Amid this chaos, Addition Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) on Tuesday informed the media persons that it was the Delhi Police which saved Hussain from being killed during the violence. Now, he is a 'murderer'. But the life journey of this eighth class drop-out crorepati is quite interesting and one would rarely believe that he left home for Delhi in the search of livelihood. Interesting, in 20 years he has made a good wealth and during the civic election 2017 he had declared his total assets worth Rs 17 crore. 43-year-old Hussain was born to a poor family in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district. He faced all the adversaries, first poverty, then unsecured childhood and moreover, a stepmother. In this condition he had no option than living the home in search of a better life. During initial days, he had to do a lot of struggle but Hussain left no stone unturned to change his fate. He worked in a furniture repairing shop. After being perfect in work, he started own furniture factory and also helped marginalised, poor, uneducated and less-educated people by giving them an opportunity in his factory. Thereafter, the life took a swing and catapulted him to the helm of success. Being financial capable was not enough for Hussain, hence, he entered the politics. In 2017, he won the civic elections from Ward number 59, Nehru Vihar, which comes under Mustafabad Assembly constituency in east Delhi. Hopeful with his success, Hussain had sold his ancestral house sometimes back. But now, when he is wanted in the murder case of an IB staffer, the police is expecting that Hussain must be hidden in his old house. "Delhi Police have not contacted us in connection with Hussain. If the Delhi Police have approached to Pourara (Hussain's village), they would have contacted us. But it has not happened so far," the Adampur SHO told IANS over phone. Paurara village falls under the Adampur police station. It can not be ruled out that Hussain is hiding somewhere in Delhi and he himself has spread the rumours about his missing. Whatever is the truth, but Hussain, who was once saved by the Delhi Police from being killed during the Delhi riots, is now an accused in the police record itself.

Mehta, in his acceptance speech during the virtual ceremony on Monday, dedicated the honour to all the women who not just endure violence that men inflict on them, "but are also tasked to solve the problem." Actor Shefali Shah played Vartika Chaturvedi, whose character on "Delhi Crime" was based on former <keyword id="10323304" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-police-dcp-chaya-sharma">Delhi Police DCP Chaya Sharma</keyword> who cracked the case of the brutal gangrape within 72 hours. The show, released in 2019, received massive acclaim for its sensitive retelling of a horrific crime that shook the entire nation. Performances by its ensemble cast, including Shah, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain and Rajesh Tailang were particularly appreciated. Hussain took to Twitter and congratulated the entire team for the win. While "Four More Shots", created by Rangita Pritish Nandy, lost to Brazil's "Ninguem ta Olhando" (Nobody's Looking), Mathur lost to 13-year-old Billy Barratt for his role in UK's "Responsible Child". "Responsible Child" also bagged the best TV Movie / Mini-Series award. Directed by Nick Holt, the movie follows the story of a 12-year-old boy and his experience of the UK legal system that puts him on trial for murder. Glenda Jackson, 84, bagged the best actress award for her role in "Elizabeth is Missing". "For Sama" won the best documentary award. The film is narrated and directed by Waad Al-Kateab along with Edward Watts. "For Sama" focuses on Al-Kateab's journey as a journalist and rebel in the Syrian uprising. The Non-English Language US Primetime Program category saw a tie, with "20th Annual Latin Grammy Awards" and "La Reina del Sur" season two bagging the honour. The Short Form Series award was bagged by "#martyisdead" from Czech Republic while "Old People's Home for 4 Year Olds" from Australia took home the award in Non-Scripted Entertainment category. Netflix's 'Delhi Crime' wins International Emmy Award 2020 for best drama series

The <keyword id="6354977" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Supreme-Court">Supreme Court</keyword> upheld <keyword id="6355014" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi-High-Court">Delhi High Court</keyword>’s decision and awarded death sentence to four convicts in 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case which shook the entire nation. Supreme Court termed it as a barbaric incident in its order. The top court upheld the death penalty, “taking the serious injuries, the severe nature of offence committed by the convicts.” “Victim's dying declaration is consistent; it has been proved beyond doubt and corroborated. Nature and manner of the crime devastated social trust, falls in 'rarest of rare' category warranting death penalty,” stated the Supreme Court. The Apex Court said aggravating circumstances outweighed mitigating circumstances in the case and the offence created "tsunami of shock". In 2012, six people lured a 23-year-old trainee physiotherapist and her male friend onto a bus in Delhi. The six culprits repeatedly raped the girl and beat both of them with a metal bar before dumping them on a road. The girl died two weeks later of her injuries. Four of the convicts- Akshay Thakur, Vinay Sharma, Pawan Gupta and Mukesh-were sentenced to death while the fifth hanged, Ram Singh, himself in <keyword id="56350" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tihar-jail">Tihar Jail</keyword> in Delhi in 2013. The sixth one was released after three years of jail for being a juvenile. The four convicts had appealed to the top court to consider their death sentence.

His body was found hanging after two friends broke open the door at 5 pm. He had gone to the friend’s house in the afternoon to have food. He said he wanted to sleep and went to a room and locked himself inside. Later, on getting no response, his friends called the police. 
 “A call was received at 5:05pm on Monday that a person had locked himself in a room at a house in Munirka,” a senior police official said. When cops reached to the spot found <keyword id="23678" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Krish">Krish</keyword> (as Muthukrishnan was called by friends) hanging from the ceiling fan. 
 The case is being seen as the second <keyword id="1725862" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rohith">Rohith</keyword> Vermula death incident. Muthukrishnan too belonged to the Scheduled Caste and was an active member of the justice for <keyword id="3210782" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rohith-Vemula">Rohith Vemula</keyword> movement. He was pursuing MPhil in JNU and was a native of Salem in Tamil Nadu. Muthukrishnan was an active student in all Dalit movements. In his blog titled "a universal mother without a nation", he elaborated how he met Rohith six times before he took the extreme step on January 17, 2016. "All the intellectuals from the marginalised communities will get arrested just for mocking fictional characters. At the same time, all the leading national institutes will be headed by people who cannot even clear the 10th standard exam. These people claim dissenters as anti-nationals and seditious. They are going to kill many Rohiths, like us, just for eating beef, for being rational, for being intellectually productive for the country. But we are the real sons of this land and after we are all killed, there will be no nation," he said. 
 
Meanwhile, student leaders of various students’ political wing have started blaming each other over the issue. 
 Reacting on the issue, <keyword id="3054758" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shehla-Rashid">Shehla Rashid</keyword>, former Vice president, JNU students’ union tweeted “JNU VC recently moved court against protesting students &amp; the HC banned protests at Admin block, to which Rajini refers in his last post L.” 
 On the other side, Saurabh Sharma, member ABVP and former joint secretary <keyword id="346405" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="JNUSU">JNUSU</keyword> tweeted “why were the anarchist-leftist gangs so prompt in reaching the site of suicide? Is it a care of criminal conspiracy? Was Rajini murdered?” 
 
The deceased scholar spoke about discrimination <a href="https://www.facebook.com/muthukrishanan.jeevanantham/posts/1945753248981124">in his alleged last Facebook post</a>. "When equality is denied everything is denied. Suddenly, a gun is held to his temple and fired. Moments later, two men with handguns can be seen shooting into the bodies as they lie on the road. The shooting happened when Ahmed was briefly released from prison — in handcuffs — for a medical checkup. A police officer Ramit Sharma said the three attackers came on motorcycles posing as journalists."They managed to reach close to Atiq and his brother on the pretext of recording a byte and fired at them from close range. Both sustained bullet injuries on the head. However, he went absconding and yesterday (March 5) he was booked in another attempt to murder case by Delhi police. According to an IANS report, a case has been lodged in Khazuri Khas police station against him. The complainant, who received a bullet injury during the <keyword id="4930213" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi-Violence">Delhi violence</keyword>, has said in the FIR that Hussain was among the rioters who opened fire at him, as per an IANS report. However, no official information has been issued about the complaint so far.
