India’s tech startup space, which saw few exists and diminishing interest seeing in the last two years, can see a revival as global giants are eyeing the country for companies and workforce.<br />
<br /> After <keyword id="6354427" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Apple">Apple</keyword> made its first India acquisition of <keyword id="3681731" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tuplejump">Tuplejump</keyword>, tech startups in the country are hopeful of good days. Even <keyword id="28115" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Intel">Intel</keyword>’s $300 million acquisition of Soft Machines, a <keyword id="6357722" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="silicon-valley">Silicon Valley</keyword> chip designer with offices in Hyderabad, has revived hopes.<br />
<br />
Global giants such as Apple, Intel and Nutanix seem interested in India startups that work on artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure and automation.<br />
<br /> “What's appealing about Indian entrepreneurs and their ventures is a combination of talent, technology, traction and transactions,” Ravi Gururaj, <keyword id="6372077" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nasscom">Nasscom</keyword> product council chairman, told ET, adding “talented small teams are working within an interesting technology area, where they are exhibiting some early product traction and a transaction which can be closed on relatively attractive terms.”<br />
<br />
“The tech giants are keen on acquiring companies that specialise in machine learning and artificial intelligence,” Thiyagarajan M, head of mergers and acquisitions (M&amp;As) at software product thinktank iSPIRT, told ET.<br />

US tech giant <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Apple&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Apple</a> has acquired <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Tuplejump&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Tuplejump</a> -- a Hyderabad-based machine learning startup that helps companies to store, process and visualise big data with its unique software.<br />
<br /> Founded in 2013, <keyword id="3681731" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tuplejump">Tuplejump</keyword>'s two co-founders <keyword id="909375" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rohit-Rai">Rohit Rai</keyword> and <keyword id="3680209" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="satyaprakash-buddhavarapu">Satyaprakash Buddhavarapu</keyword> have already joined <keyword id="6354427" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Apple">Apple</keyword> while third cofounder, Deepak Alur, joined Anaplan - a Cloud-based business modelling and planning platform for sales, operations and finance.<br />
<br /> According to a Tech Crunch report, Apple is on a machine learning company buying spree and recently bought two well-known <keyword id="6362513" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Startups">startups</keyword> Perceptio and Turi.<br />

"Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans," a company spokesperson told Tech Crunch.<br />
<br />
Apple was particularly interested in "FiloDB" -- an opensource project that Tuplejump was building to efficiently apply machine learning concepts and analytics to complex data.<br />
<br />
The Tuplejump team was well acquainted with open source big data tools such as the Apache Spark processing engine, the Apache Cassandra NoSQL database, and the Apache Kafka distributed high-throughput publish-subscribe messaging system, Venturebeat reported.<br />
<br />
"Tuplejump also built an open source search indexing system called Stargate that works with data stored in Cassandra and relies on the fundamentals of the Apache Lucene full-text search software," the report added.<br />
<br />
Tuplejump's website has been shut down following the acquisition, the details of which are yet to be disclosed.<br />

In May, Apple CEO <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Tim+Cook+&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Tim Cook </a>announced the company's first development centre in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Hyderabad+&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Hyderabad </a>to work on Apple Maps during his visit to the country.<br />

The reason the company had its eyes on Tuplejump was for its "FiloDB" project, according to the report. </p><p>The lead engineer on FiloDB has been working at Apple since this May, according to his LinkedIn. </p><p>The purchase price is unknown, although it's almost certainly lower than Apple's last machine learning purchase, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-buys-turi-artificial-intelligence-startup-for-200-million-2016-8">Turi</a>, which was bought for around $200 million earlier this year.</p><p>In the past two years, Apple has <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-buys-turi-artificial-intelligence-startup-for-200-million-2016-8">bought several machine learning</a> companies, including Perceptio, VocalIQ, Faceshift, and Emollient.</p><p>"Experiences become more powerful and intuitive as we continue our long history of enriching our products through advanced artificial intelligence.
