We estimate Q3 growth decelerated to 18% from 22% in Q2 and see further deceleration to 15% in Q4 2024 and 13% in Q1 2025," CFRA senior equity analyst Angelo Zino wrote. He added that the challenge in the coming quarters will be to keep up with strong growth compared to the year-ago quarters. "We think year-over-year deceleration is due to lapping strong growth from China-based advertisers as well as strong Reels impression growth from a year ago. Still, we think digital ad trends remain healthy, with broad-based health across most regions and verticals," Angelo Zino, a senior equity analyst at CFRA, wrote.CFRA raised its price target on the stock to $650 a share, implying 11% upside.

The world's largest ETF issuer recently noted that $77 billion went into ETFs in the week after the election, which had never happened before. That surge coincided with the S&amp;P 500's best week of 2024.Markets were especially euphoric <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/stock-market-outlook-trump-president-economy-tariffs-trade-war-kelly-2024-11">immediately after election day</a>. An astounding $22.3 billion went into US ETFs last Wednesday, and BlackRock's uber-popular iShares Russell 2000 ETF (<a target="_blank" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/etfs/ishares-russell-2000-etf-us4642876555">IWM</a>) had its most active day of trading and inflows since 2007 as small caps soared by 5.8%.However, BlackRock's Gargi Chaudhuri doesn't think President-elect Trump deserves all the credit for this astounding market rally. The chief investment and portfolio strategist, Americas noted in a recent interview that US stocks <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/stock-market-rally-outlook-trump-win-investing-strategy-2025-page-2024-11">had several strong catalysts</a> before Trump's win."Obviously, there have been some pretty sharp movements over the course of the last week," Chaudhuri told Business Insider. "But even as we look back to the quarter before that or since the beginning of this year, I think there have been some very solid fundamentals that have underpinned this movement."Robust growth for the economy and corporate earnings are some of the most salient market drivers, as are lower interest rates and receding inflation, Chaudhuri said. End-of-year rallies are also very common, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/stock-market-outlook-history-yearend-rally-election-trump-harris-truist-2024-11">especially in strong years for the market</a>, as Truist recently remarked.Another convincing explanation for this recent market momentum is that investors had reduced risk as uncertainty mounted ahead of the election before quickly changing course when they got clarity on the path forward sooner and more decisively than anticipated."Investors bringing down their portfolio risk going into elections was perhaps one of the reasons that we have seen this pretty strong re-risking in markets, especially after we got the election results," Chaudhuri said.<h2 id="e1cf1135-8543-44c9-9cf9-a679564fb91f">Why softer economic readings are a red herring</h2>As the new year approaches, Chaudhuri is rather confident about the US economy, even though a few recent developments seem to have given the glass-half-empty camp some ammunition.GDP growth and job additions have slipped lately, though neither is a major cause for concern for Chaudhuri. The economy <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/gdp-gross-domestic-product-third-quarter-economy-2024-10">didn't expand as much as expected in the third quarter</a>, but GDP still rose <a target="_blank" href="https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/gdp-growth">at a healthy clip of 2.8%</a>. And a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/october-jobs-report-unemployment-rate-nonfarm-payroll-growth-federal-reserve-2024-11">weak October jobs figure</a> appears to be largely due to the severe weather events that disrupted thousands of workers.Besides, more modest growth is a sign that the economy isn't overheating, which is welcome news to the Federal Reserve in its quest to ease financial conditions without reviving inflation. Such moderations aren't giving Chaudhuri pause about the trajectory of the US economy."It would be very normal for us to continue to see a further normalization in the labor market, given how strong the economy has already been, how high rates are," Chaudhuri said.The investment chief added: "We haven't really seen that job destruction taking place quite yet. You're still seeing wages rising; you're not seeing layoffs pick up in a meaningful manner."Corporate earnings growth is arguably the most compelling reason to stick with US stocks following what's been another outstanding performance this year. Profits <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/stock-market-rally-outlook-trump-win-investing-strategy-2025-page-2024-11">jumped about 7% in the third quarter</a>, which is well above the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-invest-q3-earnings-season-recession-risk-investing-strategy-2024-10">mid-single-digit figure that analysts were banking on</a>."One of the things that the equity market has done over and over again is continue to surprise us in terms of earnings growth," Chaudhuri said. "I think companies have continued to find very innovative ways to manage their expenses. They've found a way, especially given the spend on AI, the type of CapEx that's going into finding ways to make companies have more productivity."<h2 id="1bb5d4ad-c973-49dc-9ddc-4fb0e9f732a3">Where to invest in a rosy 2025</h2>Two sectors with abnormally strong earnings prospects are financials and industrials, Chaudhuri said. These economically sensitive groups enjoyed some of the larger post-election pops as <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-invest-trump-win-election-stock-market-outlook-strategy-2024-11">Wall Street puts its chips on sectors that should benefit from a hot economy</a>.And although <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cheap-stocks-to-buy-strong-growth-market-outlook-garp-bmo-2024-10">smaller stocks have been on a heater</a>, Chaudhuri believes that large, undervalued companies are the better place to be, given their superior earnings setup."For a longer period of time, large cap is where we think the earnings growth is going to continue to be higher and better," Chaudhuri said.While earnings may not be under the microscope like they were when interest rates were at their peak, they're still top of mind for Chaudhuri. Larger stocks often have better earnings than their smaller peers, and the investment chief thinks that the cream will eventually rise to the top."This catch-up trade that's happening in small caps right now has a little bit of legs," Chaudhuri said. "I think that can continue, maybe 'til the end of this month or even the end of next month."Chaudhuri continued: "But for us to believe in sustained rallies in small caps, we would need to see earnings growth, and over 50% of the small-cap index still is not very profitable."

The mood changed right away," Baehr said, pointing to the immediate rise in bitcoin's price as well as an increase in other indicators of strength like rising exchange volumes.<h3 id="c672ce87-611d-480d-8030-67ece1f462ed">Regulatory uncertainty</h3>Less bullish for crypto would be a more muscular regulatory approach to the market, and uncertainty about the oversight regime is a headwind."The worst outcome for crypto is one that sustains uncertainty around the direction of crypto legislation and regulation," Hougan said, adding that the election outcomes could throw a wrench into the equation."We have a hunch of what a Harris administration or a Trump administration would do, but we know that those promises don't always come through, and you can have harsh results," Hougan said, pointing to when crypto was excited for Gary Gensler to take over as SEC chair before <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/currencies/gary-gensler-sec-cryptocurrencies-bitcoin-ftx-binance-roundup-views-2023-9">proving strict on crypto regulation</a>.Hougan said, though, that he thinks bitcoin appears to be in the clear with regulators after the SEC approved the spot ETFs.<h3 id="c52189f4-2421-4771-adbd-9284caaa728f">The presidential election</h3>The US presidential election also remains top of mind for crypto investors.While both Trump and Harris are seen as pro-crypto, it's been Trump who has embraced the market publicly in recent months, speaking at events and even launching his own NFTs. This has led the market to believe he'd be the one to truly allow it to flourish and <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/currencies/bitcoin-price-soars-crypto-president-donald-trumps-election-betting-odds-2024-10">bitcoin has rallied</a> as Trump's odds of winning the election have risen.A Trump win could shoot bitcoin to <a target="_blank" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/currencies/bitcoin-price-outlook-record-high-trump-harris-election-crypto-regulation-2024-9?_gl=1*zn7ct8*_ga*MTMxNDIwNDI1Ni4xNjc1Njg3OTU4*_ga_E21CV80ZCZ*MTcyNjU4Nzg1OS42MTguMS4xNzI2NTkyOTA0LjYwLjAuMA..&amp;utm_medium=ingest&amp;utm_source=markets">$125,000 by the end of the year</a>, a jump of over 80% from Friday's prices, according to Standard Charter analyst Geoff Kendrick.But even if odds shift in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris, bitcoin will likely still rally, Hougan said.He says a Trump win would be an accelerant for crypto in the few months after the election, but bitcoin will likely do well in the long term regardless, as Harris appears to be friendlier to crypto than President Joe Biden."Two years ago, crypto was talking about Sam Bankman Fried and the biggest financial crime of all time, and crypto was completely toxic. Today, both presidential campaigns are posturing in positive ways toward the crypto industry," Hougan said.After the election, bitcoin's path looks less clear.As markets fixate on the result of the November contest, there's no clear catalyst for further gains after that."Sharks need to swim to survive. If they stop they will die," Hougan said, adding, "Bitcoin is sort of like that. It is, in the end, a narrative- and growth-focused entity."He says, though, that the narrative could point toward greater institutional adoption, or toward more potentially real-world applications for crypto.<h3 id="708c0883-e7e4-404f-832d-c8a5981e5aa1">Spot ETFs will gain momentum</h3>Among the bullish drivers, the spot ETFs that drove a rally earlier this year will likely still have a positive impact."I think Bitcoin ETF flows will accelerate in Q4 and then accelerate again in 2025. And I don't think that's priced into the market or expected," Hougan said.Baehr said the rising prominence of bitcoin ETFs and their backing from firms like BlackRock will help the crypto push further into the mainstream."I think that the asset class now is able to participate in more serious conversations, and so the price of bitcoin is just going to enjoy that universal expansion and that network enrichment," Baehr said.<h3 id="cbe5e8de-28a2-4d8e-ba21-caa58c859c93"></h3>

The future of the S&P 500 has everyone divided

Bank analysts have been hiking their price targets for the chip titan in recent weeks, predicting more upside even as the stock has seen a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/nvidia-stock-price-blackwell-ai-market-value-costco-jensen-huang-2024-10">meteoric rise</a> over the past year.Shares traded above $142 each on Monday, hitting a fresh record as investors gear up for the company's next earnings report on November 20. The stock is up 193% year-to-date. But Nvidia still has plenty of room to climb, according to forecasters. They point to signs of frenzied demand for the company's AI-enabling GPU chips and a long list of partnerships with enterprise "hyperscalers." "NVDA's engagements span multiple verticals (e.g., Accenture, ServiceNow, Microsoft), and offerings such as AI Foundry, AI Hubs, NIMs are key levers to its AI leadership, not only on the hardware side but also on systems/ecosystems side."<h3 id="6a528da2-bcac-4a58-87fb-9d0b14415a80">Goldman Sachs, $150 price target</h3>Goldman analysts raised their price target to $150 from $135 a share, implying 6% upside from the stock's current levels.Strategists said they changed their price target after a meeting with Huang. The Nvidia CEO spoke of the company's advantage over other chipmakers, and the bank said that Nvidia's "competitive moat" is built on the firm's installed base, its innovation, and its "robust and growing" software offerings. "Although we acknowledge that the company's revenue trajectory beyond CY2025 remains uncertain, we expect the stock to perform at least consistent with estimate revisions given relative valuation multiples that remain depressed relative to history ... and the potential for a re-acceleration in fundamentals driven by the upcoming Blackwell product cycle," strategists wrote.Blackwell could also help produce several billion dollars in revenue for Nvidia, the strategists estimated."By integrating seven chips, and each playing a role in delivering higher performance at the data center level, we view the introduction and ramp of Blackwell not only as a near- and medium-term revenue growth driver, but also a dynamic that extends Nvidia's competitive advantage. The ramp of Blackwell-based products remains on track with several billion dollars in revenue expected in the January quarter followed by further growth in April and beyond."<h3 id="7231a134-d8fb-40e0-8065-37b2205636b4">CFRA Research, $160 price target</h3>The research firm CFRA raised its price target to $160 from $139 per share, implying a 13% upside from current levels. According to Angelo Zino, a senior equity analyst at CFRA, that's due to increased confidence that Nvidia will post better-than-expected growth, particularly as customers scramble to get their hands on the new Blackwell chip."The higher multiple and target reflect our higher conviction that NVDA will post results that exceed our/consensus views in CY 25, as Blackwell ramps. As we previously cited, Blackwell will take greater wallet share from hyperscalers (e.g., greater GPU, CPU, networking, and software revenue) amid an AI war in the cloud," Zino wrote.<h3 id="1efd5f91-dce2-45d4-bfa2-1ada5f7366f2">Bernstein, $155 price target</h3>Bernstein raised its price target to $155 a share shortly after the chipmaker reported its second-quarter earnings in August. Similar to other firms' forecasts, Bernstein's upside prediction is based on the success of the Blackwell GPU. "People are getting excited about the story again, especially as we approach earnings, and then year-end into next year is their new platform, Blackwell, really starts to ramp. Look, by all indications, their own commentary, all the supply checks and everything else, demand for this product just looks off the charts," Rasgon said in an interview with <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SM8AcE18AN0">CNBC</a> in early October. "This cycle, if the checks are any indication, must potentially be massive," he added.

That implies a 38% upside from its price of about $138 a share at midday on Friday. The analysts point to exponential growth in the AI market in the coming years, which they say will give Nvidia a "generational opportunity" as the chip titan continues to strengthen its lead in the market.The analysts see the AI accelerator market growing to $280 billion by 2027, and toward upwards of $400 billion over time — marking huge growth from $45 billion in 2023.As AI models continue to grow rapidly—with developers like OpenAI, Google, and Meta launching new large language models several times per year—the need for computing will only grow, the analysts predict. Each new major LLM generation, especially those developed for larger size and better reasoning capabilities, will require greater training intensity, they add."We continue to see the pace of new model development increase.
