A meal at any five-star property is an elaborate affair- and one that stands apart from any other meal you have had the fortune of relishing or liking. Naturally, the curiosity regarding how this very meal tastes is always at an all-time high. What sets it apart? Is it the ingredients, the finesse of the chef or maybe, the techniques used that blows our mind away and tingles our tastebuds like never before? 
 
Instead of wondering about the possibilities, we decided to get our hands dirty (in a five-course meal) and give a sneak-peak at how a meal at a five-star looks like and why. 
 
Our destination of liking was <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Tim-Cooks-India-visit/articleshow/52310569.cms">The Leela Palace, Delhi</a> known across the country for its elegance and grandeur. Lucky for us, the hotel was celebrating the appointment of <keyword id="3646816" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Chef-Adrian-Mellor">Chef Adrian Mellor</keyword> as their Executive Chef, who brings with him over 28 years of culinary experience, which included a stint as the private chef to the royal family of Jordan. 
 
Though he’s English by birth, Chef Mellor insists that his heart remains in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=asia&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Asia</a>. After past stints at the Waldorf Astoria, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=malaysia&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Malaysia</a>, The Oberoi Rajvilas, India and the Peninsula Manila, Philippines, he’s all ready to transform the kitchen of <keyword id="775294" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="The-Leela-Palace">The Leela Palace</keyword>, New <keyword id="66" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Delhi">Delhi</keyword>. 
 
 His immediate aim, he says is to identify how the popular food trends of the West can be tweaked to suit the Indian palate. “Knowing my guests better will make my job incredibly easier,” he claims, before serving the most dreamy and delicious five-course meal anyone would dream of tasting. 
 
Each dish served was a thoughtful creation inspired from the European classics and the way he re-imagined these classics. The idea was to have a menu which used all classic techniques like pickling, poaching, roasting, slow cooking and brining in a modern, unique way. 
 
If this meal was anything to go by, it wouldn't be wrong to assume that Chef Mellor has already succeeded in knowing his guests.

New <keyword id="66" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="delhi" source="Orion">Delhi</keyword>, The <keyword id="42982" type="General" weightage="60" keywordseo="g20-summit" source="Orion">G20 Summit</keyword> will create 1,500 room nights of business for city hotels on each of the three days of the powwow, which will see heads of government of the member states and nine invitee nations checking in along with their official delegations, security personnel, airline personnel and media corps. Additionally, at least 14 multilateral organisations such as the IMF and World Bank will be present during the summit. And the 23 hotels shortlisted by the Ministry of External Affairs expect G20-related business in the days before and after the summit, for the trickle of officials is expected to start at least a week before the big event. According to hospitality industry sources, US President Joe Biden, in the tradition of previous visiting American heads of state, will stay at the ITC Maurya, which will see a cordon sanitaire descend upon it on the days of the summit. Chinese President Xi Jinping will check into the Taj Palace, the UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at the Shangri-La, and French President Emmanuel Macron at The Claridges. The Taj Mahal Hotel is likely to host the UAE delegation and the Saudi Arabians are expected to take over The Leela Palace. Key, security-cleared hotel staff, according to industry insiders, will also be staying over at their places of employment in view of the curfew-like traffic restrictions that will be in force across the city during the summit. Of course, the bulk of this business will go to what are known as the city-centre hotels, but the Aerocity establishments, which collectively boast of 3,600 keys, are not wringing their hands in despair. In the words of Vineet Mishra, Cluster General Manager, Pullman and Novotel, Aerocity: "City centre hotels for sure are reaping the choicest rewards, but the Aerocity is also getting its fair share, be it from the overflow of bookings or from regular travellers who seek value without compromising on quality." Mishra added: "Aerocity hotels are catering to a fair amount of spillover bookings, many of which are for the media teams travelling along with support functions." And what will happen to regular travellers as well as international tourists scheduled to go back to their home countries on the summit days? Ashwni Kumar Goela, Area General Manager, Radisson Hotel Group (South Asia), has the answer. "Apart from the designated hotels in Delhi hosting the G20 delegates, there are numerous other hotels across the city where regular guests can find accommodation," Goela said. "Additionally, neighbouring areas like Gurugram and Noida also boast of hotels that can provide quality accommodation to visitors seeking a place to stay in Delhi-NCR." Whether at the city centre or at the Aerocity, hotel chiefs, however, are more excited about the future doors that the summit is likely to open up for the industry. As Mishra put it: "The summit's influence on the Delhi-NCR hotel business is anticipated to be substantial, with a period of high occupancy driven by the official event, advance teams, and extended stays. The event not only presents an economic opportunity, but also showcases the region's capacity to host world-class gatherings." Or, as pointed out by Satyajeet Krishnan, Area Vice-President and General Manager, The Taj Mahal Hotel, whose sister hotel, the Taj Palace, has just completed hosting the B20 Summit of business leaders from G20 nations, "The Summit is not a one-off event, but the beginning of a series regional and business-to-business meetings that will keep driving up occupancies and also lift room rates closer to what New York or London hotels command."

Delhi's Aerocity eyes tourists, business travellers turfed out of city hotels because of G20 Summit

The wedding ceremony was held at the Leela Palace. If sources are to be believed, bride Parineeti Chopra wore a wedding outfit designed by ace designer Manish Malhotra. In a video captured by ANI, bidai song 'Kabira' from 'Yeh JawaHai Deewani' can be heard playing at the wedding venue while marriage rituals are being performed. Earlier in the afternoon, the baraatis arrived on a boat adorned with decorations that showcased glimpses of Mewar tradition. Parineeti Chopra, Raghav Chadha get married in Udaipur

Some of the Indian players and members of the support staff also landed in this southern city, airport sources said. Root and Co flew in from Sri Lanka at around 10.30 AM and headed to the hotel where members of the two teams will be put up as part of the bio-bubble, a Tamil Nadu Cricket Association official said. The England team had on Monday completed a 2-0 series sweep of the Tests against Sri Lanka with Root slamming two big centuries. Star all-rounder Ben Stokes and <keyword id="6084272" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="jofra-archer">Jofra Archer</keyword> had arrived in the city on Sunday and are in quarantine. While a few Indian players including star batsman Rohit Sharma and Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane arrived on Tuesday night, some others like Cheteshwar Pujara, Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant, star of the series clinching victory in the Brisbane Test, reached on Wednesday morning. Team coach Ravi Shastri flew in from Mumbai as did several other players from destinations across the country. Skipper Virat Kohli is scheduled to arrive later on Wednesday. The players of the two teams will be staying at Hotel Leela Palace in a bio-bubble as part of quarantine protocols and will undergo testing for COVID-19, the TNCA official said. "They will be in quarantine for six days and are set to start practising from February 2," the official added. The first Test will be played at the M A Chidambaram stadium from February 5 and the second from February 13. Chennai had last hosted a Test match in December 2016 against England.

<keyword id="6385438" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="heavy-rains">Heavy rains</keyword> lashed parts of the national capital today leading to waterlogging and traffic jams in many areas at several places, Gurgaon being the most affected. 
 
The mercury, however, settled at the normal level. The maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 34.7 and 26.5 degrees Celsius respectively, both normal for this time of the year, according to the MeT Department. 
 
However, vehicular movement was affected across the city, including at ITO, Vikas Marg, South Extension, Khanpur, Mahipalpur, Hari Nagar, IIT crossing, Nehru Place, Yusuf Sarai Market and Munirka. 
 
Traffic also crawled at various major intersections such as Laxmi Nagar, Kashmere Gate, Dwarka, Dhaula Kuan, Sarai Kale Khan, Moolchand, Karkarduma, Rajghat, Kalindi Kunj. 
 
Heavy traffic and bottlenecks were also witnessed on road stretches from Punjabi Bagh flyover to Rajouri Garden flyover, Mandi House to W-Point, Baraf Khana, Minto Road, Leela Palace and on Meerabagh Outer Ring Road. 
 
Meanwhile, Gurgaon saw waterlogging at a number of key intersections, including Hero Honda Chowk, Sohna Road, Manesar, Udyog Vihar, old Gurgaon Road and a few areas in New Gurgaon.

Heavy rains cripple Delhi, bring Gurugram to a complete standstill

Looks like the celebrity couple is going to remain in news for much longer than they had expected. Days after Anushka was wrongly blamed for being the reason of Virat’s unfortunate performance in the semi-finals of cricket world cup, they were seen together at the Mumbai airport.

Suresh Raina, who got engaged to Priyanka Chowdhary yesterday in Ghaziabad, will be taking the nuptial vows at Hotel Leela Palace in New Delhi on 3rd April, and a lot of celebrities have landed in Delhi to attend the functions. 
 
The eighth edition of Indian Premier League would be starting six days after his wedding, and Raina is expected to leave for the tournament soon after.

Cook’s predecessor and Apple’s famous founder, Steve Jobs, never considered India a primary investment destination. 
 
In Mumbai, the Apple team is expected to meet Vodafone India CEO Sunil Sood, members of the startup community to discuss and understand the potential for developing iOS applications in India and also top executives of India's largest conglomerate Reliance Industries Ltd. A meeting with Reliance’s owner and India’s second richest person, Mukesh Ambani, has still not been confirmed.

Businesswomen are one of the fastest-growing traveller segments. Keeping this in mind, hotel chains across India are putting in extra effort to attract women business travellers. 
 <keyword id="166964" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="ITC-Hotels">ITC Hotels</keyword> were the first to come up with the concept of Eva rooms exclusively for women travellers in the 1990s. The concept has now evolved from being just a single-room category at ITC Maurya in New Delhi to a dedicated wing and floor in ITC Hotels across the country. Earlier this year, ITC Maratha in Mumbai overhauled the women-only floor to incorporate new design elements. 
 "The endeavour is aimed at going beyond the expected and ordinary to cater to the 'unspoken needs' of this segment," said Dipak Haksar, chief operating officer, ITC Hotels. The hotel chain's upcoming property – <keyword id="2517854" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="ITC-Grand-Bharat">ITC Grand Bharat</keyword> at Manesar near Gurgaon – has special packages on golf, yoga, spa and beauty treatments. 
 
Even other hotel chains are now adopting the trend of women-only floors and bringing in newer and customised services for this segment. "Travel packages for women have been there for years and it's the same everywhere. But those can't work anymore as the female travellers have evolved and their needs are changing," says Louis Sailer, general manager of The Leela Palace, New Delhi. 
 
Hotels are focusing more on this segment as women travellers tend to spend more and indulge in quality lifestyle amenities like spas, beauty treatments, health and wellness.
