Initially, she too went through the rigours of starting a business as a woman. “I remember walking into a customer’s office to whom we went to pitch, I had just started my company and I was the last person to walk into the conference room. A guy turned to me and said, Miss, can you ask everyone what they want tea or coffee? and all my confidence fell on the floor immediately as I was very young. It was my first pitch ever and I wanted to cry,” Tekriwal told Business Insider India in an interview. However, she always wanted to become a pilot, and that along with her time in the UK inspired her to start her own business. The idea to start her company, JetSetGo, came from the thought of private flying as more accessible and economical for people. Before her startup, it was a long, cumbersome process where people lost money and faced many hiccups. Her company, however, turned this process online, transparent and allowed people to ‘share’ rides. “The idea came out of the combination of prior experiences and learning where I saw what was happening in the UK and in India, and there is a big gap that needs to be fulfilled and I went about it,” Tekriwal said. The first roadblock to doing business in the air was registration. “When I wanted to register the company, the people in the registrar office didn’t want to give me the certificate of incorporation simply because it had the word ‘aviation’ in it and asked me to go and get DGCA approval. Why would DGCA give me an approval for a company? I wanted to do trading,” she highlighted. Then came another difficult period in her young life when she was diagnosed with cancer. “I had the idea brewing in my head for close to three years or so, but when I took out my sketch board and started working on it, I was diagnosed with cancer, which set me back by a year,” said Tekriwal. After she became cancer-free in 2012, she kickstarted the business with her friend, <keyword id="2963933" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sudheer-perla" source="Orion">Sudheer Perla</keyword>, starting with air taxi services that provide intra-city connectivity. After ten years, she owns ten private jets after seven last year. However, now that’s in the past, the aviation sector has become one of the busiest in the last few months, thanks to years of pent up demand. During the time, the company added another interesting set of jet-setting travellers – startup founder, says Tekriwal, who was amazed at the trend. Also, those who want to splurge on a private jet for leisure trips too has doubled since January 2020. “When the Maldives opened in December last year, everyone was running there on private jets. Now it's Dubai. In India, Goa, Rajasthan, and Kerala are the top leisure destinations,” she added. The way we live, eat, work, and even travel. While flying may have resumed gradually with India opening up routes both locally and with air bubbles internationally, the concerns around ‘safe travel’ remains. No more hustle and bustle at the airports or jostling in the queues at the check-in counter, and the only airport look that works right now is a PPE kit, complete with a mask and face shield. While travel until now was limited to emergencies and business purposes, India’s elite are looking at ways where they see minimal interaction with the crowds at the otherwise busy airports. And so, charter flights and private jets have come to the rescue of the rich even as they cost lakhs per hour. With the reopening of the economy, travel booking platforms are seeing a rise in demand for charter flights. “Earlier, we used to get 10-12 requests in a week, now that’s the number of requests we receive in a day. In the past one month, we have booked 15-20 international charter flights,” said Nishant Pitti, founder of EaseMyTrip. Similar spike in demand was seen at JetSetGo, an <keyword id="31907" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Aviation">aviation</keyword> startup that specializes in bookings of helicopters and charter flights. Where there's money, there's a way – charter flight bookings jump as India's wealthy seek private and safe travel

New Delhi, Mar 12 () Skies are cloudy for carriers in the current quarter as they navigate the coronavirus outbreak but the next three months might turn out to be better, according to two airline industry executives. Lower oil prices and possibility of a spurt in domestic passenger traffic due to international travel restrictions would benefit the domestic airline industry, they added. In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, domestic carriers have reduced the number of international flights. On Wednesday, the government also decided to suspend tourist visas from March 13 till April 15. SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh on Thursday said the aviation sector is under a lot of pressure but this is temporary. "We have been here before. SpiceJet is far better placed than many others to weather this turbulence. I firmly believe that this is an opportunity for SpiceJet, for the government and the aviation ecosystem to create more efficient and viable structures for the growth that lies ahead. "SpiceJet will emerge even stronger from this," he said in a statement. Noting that the Indian aviation market, especially the domestic space, has immense potential, he said it would remain amongst the fastest growing in the world. Since there are travel restrictions till April 15, domestic air traffic might start increasing as the people who had planned their vacations abroad would look for domestic destinations, according to a senior airline industry official. As a spillover effect of international travel restrictions, the overall load factor and yield in the domestic sector might also go up, he noted. Generally, yield refers to money made by an airline on every seat occupied. "Some of the grounded capacity from the international will be redeployed in domestic routes...," he said, adding that airlines could see a better June quarter, especially on account of lower fuel prices. Another executive said there would not be any massive impact on SpiceJet as it has less international operations. Also, excess capacity in overseas routes can be deployed in the domestic sector and leases of aircraft taken for short term might not be renewed, the executive added. The fall in oil prices would also be a silver lining for the airline industry. Due to various factors, including the coronavirus outbreak, oil prices have been sailing south in recent days. On Thursday, brent crude oil futures declined over 5 per cent to USD 33.82 per barrel. Fuel cost accounts for around 40 per cent of an airline's operational expenses. There is a lot of scope for cutting costs, the executive said. A Vistara spokesperson said that business on some of its international and domestic routes has been impacted. "We are reviewing the situation everyday and remain nimble in our approach," the spokesperson added. Companies as well as individuals who choose charter services have started taking precautionary measures and are refraining from travel, JetSetGo Founder and CEO Kanika Tekriwal said. JetSetGo Aviation is an aircraft management company. "Due to coronavirus, in private aviation we definitely have increased requests for international flights where travel can't be avoided as passengers are willing to avoid the exposure that commercials might bring them. But at the same time we are also witnessing a decrease in travel altogether," she added. Shares of airlines took a beating on Thursday, with IndiGo tumbling over 11 per cent. On Wednesday, it said that quarterly earnings would be hit due to fall in daily bookings amid the coronavirus outbreak. SpiceJet dropped over 19 per cent. On March 9, the Airports Council International (ACI) said prolonged duration of the coronavirus outbreak could result in a revenue loss of USD 3 billion for airports in the Asia-Pacific region. Asia-Pacific is suffering the highest impact, with passenger traffic volumes down 24 per cent for the first quarter of the current year, compared to projected traffic levels without COVID-19, as per the ACI World estimates. ACI is a grouping of airports. It serves 668 members, operating 1,979 airports in 176 countries. The International Airport Transport Association (IATA), on March 5, projected that the airline industry could lose up to USD 113 billion in revenue this year due to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak. The grouping's previous analysis, issued in February, put the lost revenues at USD 29.3 billion. The Forbes '30 under 30 Asia' list includes 300 "young and driven entrepreneurs and game-changers" from countries including India, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam and Australia who are contributing to their industries in a significant way. 
 In this list, one would find 56 Indians, with Kohli, Mirza and Nehwal along with 26-year old Bollywood actress <keyword id="89958" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shraddha-Kapoor">Shraddha Kapoor</keyword>. 
 
"At the top of India's crickculture is batting prince Kohli, who led India to clean sweep in their Twenty 20 series against Australia in January," Forbes said of Kohli. He was also named among India's highest earning celebrities in 2015, standing at USD 11.3 million. 
 
Talking of Mirza, Forbes said that she has been the "most successful female Indian tennis player ever" and one of the highest paid and highest profile athletes in the country. 
 
About Nehwal, Forbes described her as a "role model" and "Indian badminton queen". 
 
The list has a total of 10 categories, covering consumer technology, enterprise technology, arts, healthcare and science, media, social 
entrepreneurship, finance, industry and retail. 
 
Arunima Sinha, the first female and first Indian amputee to climb Mt Everest in 2013 and Chaitanya Tamhane, the writer and director of the critically acclaimed movie 'Court' also found place in the entertainment and sports category.
