"Following this, TGBL has been renamed '<keyword id="8759775" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="tata-consumer-products-limited">Tata Consumer Products Limited</keyword>'," the statement said. Formation of Tata Consumer Products Limited (TCPL) "marks a new strategic direction, an accelerated expansion into India's FMCG market" said TGBL adding that it would "meet evolving consumer needs across the food and beverages spectrum". TCL would have iconic brands, including Tata Tea and Tata Salt, reaching over 200 million households. Staying connected to the changes in the Indian consumer landscape and their buying patterns is a top priority for us during as well as post the national lockdown. In addition to this, there are a few more things which are critical- The Relevance of Advertising: Post COVID-19, the question that every marketer was having – whether to advertise or not; if yes, what should be the communication.Our stance is to advertise only if we are able to add relevant value to the consumers’ lives. Being in the middle of a global health and economic crisis, empathy with consumers is more important than ever. The brands which have forged meaningful relationships with consumers would seldom hard sell and instead look at offering genuine solutions that add value to their life. We have shifted our focus towards more content-driven communication and acts vis-à-vis the regular advertising during this time. Innovations to meetemerging Consumer Asks:This global health crisis haspushed every business to rethink their offering to the customers. There is a definitive change in the way consumers buy and the way companies sell. We too are focused on creating offerings that address this new shift and new consumer needs. Q) What kind of communications have you been putting out? How have you been ensuring that whatever you put out is relevant to the times we're living in right now? Our communication strategy during this time has been to partner the consumers during these hard times. For Tata Sampann, Indian nutrition backed by science is at the core of the brand. We always aim to provide ‘Sarvagunn Sampann’ i.e. wholesome nutrition to our consumers. The conversations around physical, mental, and emotional well-being during the on-going lockdown are critical to helping consumers remain unscathed. With digital becoming a primary medium to connect with consumers, we launched two digital-first communications for our consumers during the lockdown. The first, ‘Beat the Lockdown’ was aimed at helping consumers stay fit and nourished throughout the lockdown help of a nutritionist, yoga coach, and psychologist. This was a three-week digital forward campaign for us, with expert lives almost everyday around issues people are facing during lockdown related to nutrition, mental and physical health,and giving out simple remedies to it. Our second campaign was ‘Har Din Haldi, HarGhar Healthy’ that focused on helping consumers building Immunity through the everyday Indian spice- Turmeric.We created cool, new ways of using turmeric every day. This was followed by around 375+ recipes curated from user- generated content. We also sampled Tata Sampann Turmeric with Pride of Cows mil in Mumbai. Idea was to stress the importance of haldi-doodh for immunity. The response has been terrific- with over 6.7 crore engagements on various social media platforms for Tata Sampann. In these changing times, we understand that parents are constantly looking for interesting ways to keep their children engaged and productive at home. Hence being ‘DeshkaNamak’, we launched Tata Salt IQL (India Quizzing League) - a daily format quiz to keep kids mentally active and helping them learn more about ‘Bharat’ positively. This initiative met with success as we on-boarded 350,000 participants in a span of just seven days. While these campaigns were our mainstay communications during the lockdown, we will also be launching further communications for Tata Salt and Tata Sampann alike in the coming months. Also with sanitation being one of the key focus across, we have amplified conversations on products like Tata I-Shakti Cooking Soda that helps in cleaning fruits and vegetables thus aiding hygiene. Our focus is to create educative and engaging content than on advertising and hard sell. Q) Have you witnessed any interesting consumer trends during this period? With the growing concerns over food safety and quality, there is a revival in the traditional Indian food wisdom. Be it haldi doodh, home- cooked meals, etc.There is a higher awareness about food safety and hygiene. We are also witnessing a consumer shift towards products that are not just convenient and easy to store but also healthy and nutritious. Q) Did you tweak your media mix during the lockdown? Have your digital investments gone substantially up during this time? The proportion of investments on digital has significantly gone up during this time. Digital plays a key role in Tata Sampann specifically, as it is an important growth medium for us. Post COVID-19, our focus will continue to be able to connect with our consumers across digital platforms but in newer and more experimental ways. Tata Nutikorner is our nutrition platform that talks about Indian ingredients and their nutritional value through expert voices in the food and health arena. Television again is a platform that is making a strong comeback during this time and is a definite watch out when it comes to the consumption of brand communications. Q) How are you preparing yourself as a brand to function efficiently in the new world? Adapt and Adopt: With the situation changing almost every day, the ability to be agile and adapt will be crucial for a brand. Hygiene and safety above everything: As for the consumer’s safety, nutrition, health, hygiene, and value for money will be a deciding factor when making any purchase. Rethink the Go-to-market strategy:Though E-commerce has become the preferred choice for buying even your essential items, your neighbourhood retail stores will still play an important role. Hence, collaborating with the Government to train the neighbourhoodkirana stores to improve the level of sanitization is going to be equally important. Q)Will the way you market your offerings change in the future? Definitely, the trends and learning during the times of pandemic cannot be ignored and will continue to impact for the next couple of years. We think, given the current market scenario and the fear of this pandemic, the products that focus on nutrition and immunity will be in high demand over regular offerings. Demand for products built on traditional Indian wisdom will increase and as said earlier consumers will take to more of home-cooked meals. In the last two months, e-commerce has grown to the level it would have otherwise taken at least five years, in many markets. India will be no exception. E-commerce and direct to home distribution models will get more prominence over the traditional retail stories due to deep-rooted safety concerns. New-age options, such as selling through AI bots/teleselling, will get more prominence. Human intervention would be encouraged only where it is indispensable. Many of these things were unthinkable in the past, but will become the new normal for many brands. Q) What have your key learnings from this experience been so far? Declutter and focus on what matters:One of the starkest but obvious revelations for us has been how consumers have begun de-cluttering their lives and focusing on only what matters. I think even when it comes to information, consumption of information might be high but I believe they are retaining only those information that matters to them. Safety and Hygiene ruling the roost:In terms of the way they consume products in the post-lockdown era, we expect safety, hygiene &amp; immunity to rule the roost as social distancing has made these factors almost a part of everyone’s daily lives. Acing the digital life: We also are seeing stronger &amp; faster adoption of digital in our lives be it for work or personal needs. Digital will continue to play a critical role for us in the coming days and months. Q) What kind of impact did you see in sales during this time? Any interesting stats to share? Sales have been influenced by how consumer consumption patterns have shifted in the past eight weeks or so. Consumers want to move to the brands that they can trust. We have also seen a significant spike in demand for both Tata Sampann and Tata Salt. Tata Sampann Products like Turmeric and pulses which are high on nutrition and essential in nature have seen a very significant spike during this phase. There is also a stronger demand for nutritious ready -to -cook products too and we have seen sales for those from our portfolio increase in accordance as well.

Marketing in the times of Covid-19: Tata Consumer Products

New Delhi, Jan 4 () Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the flagship company of the Tata group, on Saturday said it has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the NCLAT that directed the reinstatement of Cyrus Mistry as a director of the company.
In a filing to the stock exchanges, TCS said the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) - vide its judgement on December 18, 2019 - had directed re-instatement of Mistry as director of the company for rest of the tenure.
"...the company, based on a legal opinion, has on January 3, 2020 filed an appeal in the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India (i) to set aside the said Judgement qua the company and (ii) in the interim stay on operation of the said judgement to the extent it relates to the company," it added.
In a major development, the NCLAT had restored Mistry as executive chairman of Tata Sons and ruled that appointment of N Chandrasekaran as the head of the holding company of salt-to-software conglomerate was illegal.
Subsequently, Tata Sons moved the Supreme Court against the December 18 order of the NCLAT reinstating Mistry as the company's chairman.
After that, Tata Group patriarch Ratan Tata also filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking to quash the company law appellate court order, saying the judgment was "wrong, erroneous and contrary to the record of the case".
His petition, however, is separate from the one filed by Tata Sons Ltd, the holding company of the USD 110 billion salt-to-software conglomerate, in the Supreme Court on Thursday. SR MKJ

Mumbai, Jul 7 () Even as Tata Chemicals Ltd (TCL) was impacted by the coronavirus-induced lockdown, the company took steps to ensure that the recovery is on track including manufacturing of salt and soda ash, the company said at its 81st annual general meeting on Tuesday. "Tata Chemicals has a global presence with manufacturing operations in four continents. In India, it was impacted by the nationwide lockdown to curb COVID-19 pandemic, but it took steps to ensure that the recovery is on track," Bhaskar Bhat, non-executive director and chairman of TCL. He was addressing shareholders at the Tata Chemicals' 81st annual general meeting (AGM), which was conducted via video conference. This was TCL's first AGM after the merger of the consumer business of the company with Tata Global Beverages. Meanwhile, the company's manufacturing plant at Mithapur continued to manufacture Tata Salt without any disruption, he said. "The company produced over 3,08,000 tonnes of salt, over 25 per cent more than the production in the same period last year. Sales volumes were also higher than this period last year, recording a 42 per cent increase over the sales for the first quarter of 2019-20," he added. The production of soda ash and sodium bicarbonate also recovered after an initial lull due to the lockdown, Bhat said. Soda ash sales volumes were just over 70 per cent and sodium bicarbonate sales volumes were 80 per cent of the sales for the corresponding period of 2019-20, he added. Bhat said TCL's newer operations at Mambattu, Nellore (Andhra Pradesh) and Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu) were shut in March 2020 as per government directives. These sites started limited operations in May 2020 as per relaxations granted by local authorities and are currently meeting customer demand in full, he said. Given the scale of their current operations, this would not have a material impact on the financials of the company, he added. Meanwhile, talking about the comppany's international operations, Bhat said its UK operations also did not witness any disruption in production or sales with the customer demand remaining at par or ahead of last year. However, the export markets served by the US operation witnessed a slowdown in part due to COVID-19 restrictions in the markets serviced, he said. In Kenya, while there was no disruption in production related to coronavirus, despatches to customers in India and Sourtheast Asian countries were delayed for a period of time on account of complete or partial lockdowns in these regions, he added. Further, he said the company's value-driven growth opportunity in the Bicarb space with brands in food, feed, pharma and specialty segments will entail scale and consolidation. TCL also intends to increase the production volume of its subsidiaries to maintain their market share, he said. "Our strategy going forward will be to build scale and value in the businesses of soda ash, marine chemicals, silica and nano products, nutritional sciences, agri and energy sciences," he added. 'Tata Chemicals' recovery from COVID-19 impact is on track'

New Delhi, Jun 5 () Tata Sons, the holding company of salt-to-software conglomerate Tata Group, is not looking to monetise investments to raise capital as it has enough cash to support group firms, its Chairman N Chandrasekaran said on Friday. "Tata Sons is in a strong financial position with adequate cash flows to support group companies and new growth initiatives," he said in a statement. Tata Group, like all other companies, is facing both challenges and opportunities arising out of the coronavirus pandemic and resulting economic situation, he added. "All our group companies are progressing well responding to these challenges and opportunities and we are confident that they will emerge stronger," he said. New Delhi, Mar 25 () Tata Chemicals Ltd on Wednesday said the company has shut down its manufacturing operations in Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu following the coronavirus outbreak. The company has also scaled down its operations at Mithapur in Gujarat. In a regulatory filing, the company said the decision was taken keeping in mind the safety and well-being of all the employees and stakeholders. "The company has shut down its manufacturing operations located at Mambattu-Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, Sriperumbudur and Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu) and scaled down its operations at Mithapur in Gujarat for the production of soda ash and cement," it said. The decision came into effect from March 24, 2020. "The company striving to ensure normalcy in the production and movements of Tata Salt and sodium bicarbonate which are essential inputs for food and pharma products," the filing said. Tata Chemicals said, the duration of this shut down/scale down is uncertain at this point in time and the resumption of operations at these locations will depend upon the directives issued by the respective government authorities. According to TRA survey, Samsung topped the list of India’s most consumer-focused brands 2019, showing where Indians were most likely to spend their disposable income. Samsung was followed by Tata Motors, Apple, Hero and MotorCorp. The study ranked top 500 consumer brands in India based on patterns on a ‘buying propensity index’. “Samsung showed an upward projection of eight ranks to secure the top position on the list this year. The South Korean conglomerate dominates the Indian market by displaying its determined supremacy through complete consumer focus, thus dominating their mind and perception, <a href="http://trustadvisory.info/tra/home.php">said </a>the report. Three out of top five consumer based brands in India are foreign-origin: Study

New Delhi, May 18 () Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) on Monday said it will acquire the stake of PeopsiCo in their joint venture NourishCo Beverages. The size of the deal was not disclosed by the company. The move is an effort by the Tata Group firm to widen its portfolio in the growing food and beverages space, TCPL said in a statement. NourishCo, a 50:50 joint venture of TCPL and PepsiCo, operates in the healthy hydration space and has brands like Himalayan mineral water, Tata Gluco Plus and Tata Water Plus."This move is consistent with Tata Consumer's focus on wideningits portfolio in the food and beverages space. These brands have been crafting their growth models which are now ready for deployment on a wider scale," TCPL said in a statement. NourishCo was formed in 2010 as a joint venture between Tata Global Beverages (now TCPL) and PepsiCo India. TCPL intends to use its sizeable resources, the capabilities acquired and the brands it now has , to give "wings to its ambition in the value added liquid refreshment beverages space" in India, it said."This decision has been made after extensive deliberation between the JV partners and we feel this will bring in greater focus to the NourishCo Business. The liquid beverages category has exciting growth potential and this move will help us strengthen and widen our presence in it," TCPL MD &amp; CEO Sunil D'Souza said. Tata to buy out PepsiCo's stake in JV NourishCo Beverages

New Delhi, Dec 18 () Shares of various Tata Group companies on Wednesday plunged up to 4 per cent after the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) restored Cyrus Mistry as Tata Sons Chairman.
Tata Global Beverages tanked 4.14 per cent, Tata Coffee plunged 3.88 per cent and Tata Motors dropped 3.05 per cent on the BSE. Tata Motors was the top loser among the BSE Sensex constituents.
Also, Indian Hotels Company dipped 2.48 per cent, Tata Chemicals fell 1.65 per cent, Tata Investment Corporation 1.22 per cent and Tata Power Company 0.98 per cent.
In contrast, Tata Consultancy Services stock rose marginally by 0.07 per cent, Tata Metaliks gained 2.07 per cent, Tata Communications 1.68 per cent, Tata Elxsi 1.53 per cent, Tata Steel 1.16 per cent and Titan Company 0.09 per cent.

Various Tata Group stocks tank after NCLAT restores Cyrus Mistry as Tata Sons head

New Delhi, Dec 19 () Shares of various Tata Group companies remained under pressure on Thursday as well, falling up to 2 per cent in morning trade, after the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) restored Cyrus Mistry as Tata Sons Chairman.
 Tata Power Company fell 1.62 per cent, Tata Coffee declined 1.52 per cent, Tata Metaliks dipped 1.60 per cent, Tata Steel 1.46 per cent and Tata Communications 1.23 per cent on the BSE in early trade.
 The scrip of Tata Global Beverages fell 0.89 per cent, Indian Hotels Company slipped 0.62 per cent, Titan Company 0.46 per cent, Tata Motors 0.37, Tata Investment Corporation 0.14 per cent and Tata Consultancy Services stock fell 0.10 per cent.
 However, later some of these scrips such as Tata Motors and TCS bounced back and were trading with gains.
 Various group scrips had fallen up to 4 per cent in the previous trade after the order.

The court also dismissed an appellate court order that allowed Cyrus Mistry to be reinstated as the group Chairman. Ratan Tata also went on to talk about the news on Twitter. Order of NCLAT is set aside. Appeal by TATA group is upheld. Appeal by SP group is dismissed. Appeal by Cyrus Investments is dismissed,” said Chief Justice of India SA Bobde during the order. The top court further said, “We leave it to Tata Sons, Mistry to take legal route to resolve issue of shares. All Tata Group stocks soar in trade as Ratan Tata prevails in the legal battle with Cyrus Mistry at India's Supreme Court

New Delhi, Dec 19 () Shares of various Tata group companies on Thursday bounced back to close with gains of up to 3 per cent a day after an NCLAT ruling that reinstated Cyrus Mistry as chairman of main group holding company Tata Sons sent the stocks down.
 Various group companies remained under pressure till morning trade, falling by up to 2 per cent.
 However, buying emerged towards the close of trade and most of these companies settled the day with gains. 
Among the gainers, Tata Consultancy Services climbed 2.83 per cent, Tata Motors jumped 2.55 per cent, Tata Coffee rose 0.98 per cent, Tata Global Beverages 0.67 per cent, Tata Steel 0.48 per cent, Tata Metaliks gained marginally 0.17 per cent, Titan Company 0.07 per cent and Tata Communications 0.01 per cent on the BSE. 
 In contrast, Indian Hotels Company fell 2.03 per cent, Tata Elxsi went lower by 1.40 per cent and Tata Investment Corporation declined 0.43 per cent.
Various group scrips had fallen up to 4 per cent in the previous trade after the order.
In a big win for Cyrus Mistry, a company law appeals court on Wednesday restored him as executive chairman of Tata Sons and ruled that appointment of N Chandrasekaran as head of the holding company of over USD 110 billion salt-to-software conglomerate was illegal.
It, however, stayed the operation of the order with respect to reinstatement for four weeks to allow Tatas to appeal.
Mistry, scion of the wealthy Shapoorji Pallonji family, had in December 2012 succeeded Ratan Tata as the Executive Chairman of Tata Sons, a post that also made him the head of all Tata group listed firms such as Tata Power and Tata Motors. 
In an overnight coup, he was removed as the Chairman of Tata Sons in October 2016. SUM MR

Tata Group stocks recover lost ground; gain up to 3 pc at close of trade

New Delhi, Dec 18 () Ousted Tata Sons Chairman Cyrus Mistry on Wednesday termed the NCLAT judgement to reinstate him at the helm of the company as "victory for the principles of good governance and minority shareholder rights" and not just his own personal victory.
Seeking to bury the past bitterness, Mistry in a statement said that it was now time that "all of us work together for sustainable growth and development of the Tata Group, an institution that we all cherish."
For over 50 years, the Mistry family, as the significant minority shareholder of Tata Sons, has always endeavoured to play the role of a responsible guardian of an institution that the entire nation is proud of, he added.
"For the Tata Group to prosper as an institution, it is important that the management of individual companies, their Boards, the management of Tata Sons, the Board of Tata Sons and the shareholders of Tata Sons, all work harmoniously within a robust governance framework, that in substance and form, protects the rights of all stakeholders, including shareholders, investors and the Tata Groups employees, who represent the strongest asset of the Group," Mistry said.
Commenting on the verdict of the appellate tribunal, he said, "The outcome of the appeal is a vindication of my stand taken when the then board of Tata Sons, without warning or reason removed me, first as the executive chairman, and subsequently as a director of Tata Sons."
He further said, "My endeavor as Executive Chairman had always been to establish a culture and processes that promote effective board governance to create long term stakeholder value, sustainable profits and growth."
